A New Class of Glasshole – Police

Posted by M. C. on April 16, 2014

Police are now going to use Google glass. That did not take long.

You can assume any encounter with these police will result in a facial/voice scan, photo, real-time record check, GPS location. All this merely because you don’t look or act “right”. Will we be advised this is happening? Not if the fuzz can help it. Fourth amendment? Oh , that old thing! Probable cause? Your joking, right? What if your voice is recorded without your permission? This a wiretap violation in PA for civilians. I don’t know what the police are allowed to get away with. Do the police care?  No.

So if you specifically say you do not consent to any searches, as we all should do, what are the legal ramifications of a cop looking in your car and recording all the contents using Google glass?

If you specifically say you do not consent to any searches will the glass come off?

As Google glass becomes more pervasive, social intercourse with glassholes will be cause for alarm. The data that might be recorded as described above is the issue. The wearer might not even know this happening with the data automatically going directly into Google’s data bank. I would think if one were savvy enough to use the glass one would be aware of the hazards. But judging from the glasshole interviews I have read the wearers either don’t care or are in denial about their precious glass.

Question: What is the difference between a stranger photographing your child with a camera and a stranger wearing Google glass looking at your child?

Answer: Nothing.

Be seeing you
