Could it possibly be that government-mandated “safe” cars have become very distracting to drive? That we have passed a kind of idiot-proofing Event Horizon?
And the car companies are happy when the government makes a bunch of stuff you don’t want and don’t to pay for mandatory. A symbiotic relationship at our expense.
