I hope Trump doesn’t plan on visiting Dallas anytime soon.
President Trump has decided to end the CIA’s covert program to arm and train moderate Syrian rebels battling the government of Bashar al-Assad, a move long sought by Russia, according to U.S. officials.
Officials said the phasing out of the secret program reflects Trump’s interest in finding ways to work with Russia, which saw the anti-Assad program as an assault on its interests. The shuttering of the program is also an acknowledgment of Washington’s limited leverage and desire to remove Assad from power.
The only way this could be considered covert is being able to tell it apart from all the other terrorist groups in the CIA forest that they fund.
Assad and Russia have made great strides against terrorist groups.
The last thing the CIA wants to do is defeat ISIS and Al Qaeda. They are in Syria for one thing, to defeat the Assad and stop his success in crushing CIA tool ISIS.
I doubt the CIA will be stopped. They likely have numerous game plans to draw from.
Be seeing you
