Why the CIA Attempted a ‘Maidan Uprising’ in Brazil

Posted by M. C. on January 14, 2023

The US is being slowly but surely expelled from wider Eurasia by concerted actions of the Russia-China strategic partnership.

Ukraine is a black hole – where NATO faces a humiliation that will make Afghanistan look like Alice in Wonderland. A feeble EU being forced by Washington to de-industrialize and buy US Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) at absurdly high cost has no essential resources for the Empire to plunder.

PEPE ESCOBAR

A former US intelligence official has confirmed that the shambolic Maidan remix staged in Brasilia on 8 January was a CIA operation, and linked it to the recent attempts at color revolution in Iran.

On Sunday, alleged supporters of former right-wing President Jair Bolsonaro stormed Brazil’s Congress, Supreme Court, and presidential palace, bypassing flimsy security barricades, climbing on roofs, smashing windows, destroying public property including precious paintings, while calling for a military coup as part of a regime change scheme targeting elected President Luis Inacio “Lula” da Silva.

According to the US source, the reason for staging the operation – which bears visible signs of hasty planning – now, is that Brazil is set to reassert itself in global geopolitics alongside fellow BRICS states Russia, India, and China.

That suggests CIA planners are avid readers of Credit Suisse strategist Zoltan Pozsar, formerly of the New York Fed. In his ground-breaking 27 December report titled War and Commodity Encumbrance, Pozsar states that “the multipolar world order is being built not by G7 heads of state but by the ‘G7 of the East’ (the BRICS heads of state), which is a G5 really but because of ‘BRICSpansion’, I took the liberty to round up.”

He refers here to reports that Algeria, Argentina, Iran have already applied to join the BRICS – or rather its expanded version “BRICS+” – with further interest expressed by Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, Egypt, Afghanistan, and Indonesia.

The US source drew a parallel between the CIA’s Maidan in Brazil and a series of recent street demonstrations in Iran instrumentalized by the agency as part of a new color revolution drive: “These CIA operations in Brazil and Iran parallel the operation in Venezuela in 2002 that was highly successful at the start as rioters managed to seize Hugo Chavez.”

Enter the “G7 of the East”

Straussian neo-cons placed at the top of the CIA, irrespective of their political affiliation, are livid that the “G7 of the East” – as in the BRICS+ configuration of the near future – are fast moving out of the US dollar orbit.

Straussian John Bolton – who has just publicized his interest in running for the US presidency – is now demanding the ouster of Turkey from NATO as the Global South realigns rapidly within new multipolar institutions.

Federal Agency Wants to BAN Gas Kitchen Stoves for “the Children” – LewRockwell

Posted by M. C. on January 14, 2023

It’s ironic that we’re regularly being asked to reduce our use of electricity while the powers that be want to force us to switch to totally electric homes and electric cars. In the very likely event of rolling blackouts, people would not be able to cook, heat their homes, or charge a vehicle to go someplace with power. But hey, if you care about the planet, you’ll happily suffer for it, right?

Daisy Luther

How about a side of government overreach with your dinner? That will be the case if a certain federal agency has its way, because they want to ban that gas stove in your kitchen ASAP.

Of course, it’s for the children.

The hullabaloo comes after a peer-reviewed study in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health attributed more than 12% of current childhood asthma cases in the United States to the use of gas cookstove.

Here’s what the government has to say.

It all started with a report by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission that condemned the use of gas stoves in your kitchen and promoted the use of electric stoves as a safer alternative. Bloomberg reports:

Natural gas stoves, which are used in about 40% of homes in the US, emit air pollutants such as nitrogen dioxide, carbon monoxide and fine particulate matter at levels the EPA and World Health Organization have said are unsafe and linked to respiratory illness, cardiovascular problems, cancer, and other health conditions, according to reports by groups such as the Institute for Policy Integrity and the American Chemical Society. Consumer Reports, in October, urged consumers planning to buy a new range to consider going electric after tests conducted by the group found high levels of nitrogen oxide gases from gas stoves…

…The US Consumer Product Safety Commission plans to take action to address the pollution, which can cause health and respiratory problems.

And what would that action include? Welp, right from the horse’s mouth, banning the appliances.

“This is a hidden hazard,” Richard Trumka Jr., an agency commissioner, said in an interview. “Any option is on the table. Products that can’t be made safe can be banned.”

It isn’t clear whether the potential ban would apply to stoves already installed in homes or if you just wouldn’t be able to purchase a new one.

Natural gas is evil.

And, another clean energy group would really like to get rid of all gas appliances.

“There is about 50 years of health studies showing that gas stoves are bad for our health, and the strongest evidence is on children and children’s asthma,” said Brady Seals, a manager in the carbon-free buildings program  at the nonprofit clean energy group RMI and a co-author of the study. “By having a gas connection, we are polluting the insides of our homes.”

Nearly 100 cities in the United States have gotten on board with the move away from efficient and economical natural gas. Bloomberg summarizes:

The New York City Council voted in 2021 to ban natural gas hookups in new buildings smaller than seven stories by the end of this year. The California Air Resources Board unanimously voted in September to ban the sale of natural gas-fired furnaces and water heaters by 2030.

Can you imagine the control that could be had over a fully electric home with a smart meter? Or an entire city or neighborhood of fully electric homes? For those who value our independence, this sounds concerning.

Also, gas stoves are racist.

From the Twitter Files: Pfizer board member Scott Gottlieb secretly pressed Twitter to hide posts challenging his company’s massively profitable Covid jabs

Posted by M. C. on January 13, 2023

To funnel his demands, Gottlieb used the same Twitter lobbyist the White House did – fresh evidence of overlap between the company selling mRNA shots and the government forcing them on the public.

Alex Berenson

On August 27, 2021, Dr. Scott Gottlieb – a Pfizer director with over 550,000 Twitter followers – saw a tweet he didn’t like, a tweet that might hurt sales of Pfizer’s mRNA vaccines.

The tweet explained correctly that natural immunity after Covid infection was superior to vaccine protection. It called on the White House to “follow the science” and exempt people with natural immunity from upcoming vaccine mandates.

It came not from an “anti-vaxxer” like Robert F. Kennedy Jr., but from Dr. Brett Giroir, a physician who had briefly followed Gottlieb as the head of the Food & Drug Administration. Further, the tweet actually encouraged people who did not have natural immunity to “Get vaccinated!”

No matter.

By suggesting some people might not need Covid vaccinations, the tweet could raise questions about the shots. Besides being former FDA commissioner, a CNBC contributor, and a prominent voice on Covid public policy, Gottlieb was a senior board member at Pfizer, which depended on mRNA jabs for almost half its $81 billion in sales in 2021. Pfizer paid Gottlieb $365,000 for his work that year.

Gottlieb stepped in, emailing Todd O’Boyle, a top lobbyist in Twitter’s Washington office who was also Twitter’s point of contact with the White House.

The post was “corrosive,” Gottlieb wrote. He worried it would “end up going viral and driving news coverage.”

Tech for Me, but Not for Thee: Psalm 8 Meets Transhumanism – LewRockwell

Posted by M. C. on January 13, 2023

We’re now learning about multiple labs around the world looking into altering the DNA of viruses so that they can better infiltrate and influence the bodies of human beings. I speak here of the newly infamous “gain of function” research.  Yet, at the same time, we’re being told that collecting firewood (or, Gaia forbid – coal!) to heat hearth and home is an act of selfishness – at best.  Nothing funny about the logic of the “elites” there, eh?

https://www.lewrockwell.com/2023/01/no_author/tech-for-me-but-not-for-thee-psalm-8-meets-transhumanism/

By Jeff Krinock

I wrote to the late, great Becky Akers about a year before her too-early passing early in 2022.  I wanted to share with her my horror upon learning that an “academic” had just published a book suggesting that all of humanity should be eliminated in the cause of saving the environment.  Eliminated.  I was familiar enough with Becky’s own work to know that she would drop her jaw (as I did) upon finding yet another ostensibly educated person pronouncing her way out of our “scientific world” right back into the realm of (supposedly discredited) metaphysical decisions. The professor in question – I won’t here give her name or the title of her book so as to avoid granting her one scintilla of publicity – decided it was her place to pontificate regarding humanity-ending decisions.  The kinds of decisions that belonged, during sane eras, to God Almighty.  Bring to an end all of mankind?  Hey – why not?  She has a PhD, right?

Returning to sanity, for a moment.  About man and his role in life, death, and the environment, one of my favorite Psalms says this:

“You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands;
You have put all things under his feet,
All sheep and oxen—
Even the beasts of the field,
The birds of the air,
And the fish of the sea
That pass through the paths of the seas.”

It’s certainly true that in our era, just like the “academic” about whom Becky and I marveled, there are now teeming millions of our fellow human beings currently bowing to elements of nature (or, the earth, or to Gaia, or “the environment” – pick the name of your idol).  These folks willingly worship and revere that which is neither eternal nor divine.

So it’s almost confusing to read straightforward words, from God, no less, about man exercising “dominion”.  Really?  We’re to prevail upon nature, upon the environment, that false god so widely revered, venerated, and even downright worshipped in our day?  Needless to say, unlike our unnamed “academic”, the Psalm says not one word suggesting collective suicide in behalf of the environment, in some sort of macabre twisting of God’s mandate to assert dominion.  (As an aside, I’ll note that those turning nature and the environment into false gods do so apparently ignorant of the most basic teachings provided by any decent Sunday School: Bad things come to idolaters.  Really bad things.)

Sure, there might be room for a tad bit of confusion as to who, exactly, exercises dominion over nature, given that the Psalmist uses metonymy to define his subject: “What is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that You visit him?  For You have made him a little lower than the angels, and You have crowned him with glory and honor.”

A Government by Experts – LewRockwell

Posted by M. C. on January 12, 2023

As an example, the U.S. Tax Code, enacted by Congress, runs to 2,600 pages. It is an indecipherable monstrosity. But the IRS’s own regulations — written by IRS bureaucrats, not by Congress — run to 9,000 pages. And the IRS’s interpretations of its own regulations run to 70,000 pages. This is Wilson’s government by experts.

BATF is an administrative agency run by so-called experts. When it attempted to outlaw modified rifles by declaring them to be machine guns, the 5th Circuit reminded BATF that it is not Congress.

US court is slow on the draw.

https://www.lewrockwell.com/2023/01/andrew-p-napolitano/a-government-by-experts/

By Andrew P. Napolitano

I have often thought that after Abraham Lincoln, Woodrow Wilson was our worst president. By worst is meant least faithful to the Constitution and most destructive of personal liberty.

With the exception of Lincoln’s dictatorship — during which the federal government used violence to crush the states’ natural right to secede from a compact they had voluntarily joined, and instead brought about the systematic murder of 750,000 persons — America from its founding to the early part of the 20th century more or less enjoyed the James Madison model for the federal government.

Under this model, the federal government could only legislate, regulate, spend and govern in the 16 discrete areas of human behavior that the Constitution delegated to it. All other areas of human behavior were left free to individual choices or governance by the states.

From and after Wilson’s presidency, the Madisonian model was replaced by the Wilsonian one. Under this model, the feds could legislate, regulate, spend and govern in any areas of human behavior for which there was a national political will, except for those areas that are expressly prohibited to them by the Constitution.

It would take another generation before the courts fully caught up to this, during which they gradually permitted Congress basically to write any law, regulate any behavior, spend any money, tax any event and intrude upon any relationship so long as it did not confront an express constitutional prohibition.

The Constitution itself — which Madison designed both to establish the federal government and to limit it — has been a dismal failure as an instrument of limitation. Madison himself wrote that only an external structure — external to the Constitution — could be relied upon to keep the federal government in its place.

He was referring to the power of the states to nullify acts of the federal government that the states determined were outside its constitutional authority. He was also referring to the natural right that individuals and political subdivisions have to leave the government, called secession. Just as the 13 colonies seceded from Great Britain, Madison argued, individuals can reject the government, smaller subdivisions can leave larger ones, and states can leave the feds.

In his masterpiece “Democracy: The God That Failed,” Hans-Hermann Hoppe articulates the truism that one is not truly free if one cannot leave the government. This applies to persons as well as to political subdivisions. The forced retention of persons under the government’s monopolistic jurisdiction is totalitarian.

Without the threat of nullification and secession, there is no effective restraint on the feds.

Now back to Wilson. His governmental sins were many — World War I, the Espionage Act, the federal income tax, the popular election of U.S. Senators, the Federal Reserve and his government by experts, known today as the administrative state.

Ukraine Is Shedding Blood for ‘NATO Mission’: Ukrainian Defense Minister – News From Antiwar.com

Posted by M. C. on January 12, 2023

“Those people” over there are expendable. More politically expendable than US sons and daughters, for now.

https://news.antiwar.com/2023/01/11/ukraine-is-shedding-blood-for-nato-mission-ukrainian-defense-minister/

by Dave DeCamp

Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov said last week that Ukraine is “shedding blood” for a “NATO mission” in candid remarks about the relationship between Kyiv and the Western military alliance.

“At the NATO Summit in Madrid (in June 2022), it was clearly delineated that over the coming decade, the main threat to the alliance would be the Russian Federation. Today, Ukraine is eliminating this threat,” Reznikov said in an interview on Ukrainian TV last week.

“We are carrying out NATO’s mission today. They aren’t shedding their blood. We’re shedding ours. That’s why they’re required to supply us with weapons,” he added.
