House Republicans passed H.R. 7521, legislation to give Biden the power to decide what apps go on your phone. That’s right, Republicans think it is a good idea to give Biden the power to decide what apps and websites you view.
This legislation is not really about Tic Tok. In the near term, it appears to be about finding a way to censor X.com as well as blocking access to Yandex.com. Yandex.com is the Russian search engine that is quickly becoming the search engine of choice for many liberty activists when doing research.

A common denominator of all totalitarian societies is that they censor information. They label it heretical or misinformation, and simply prohibit its distribution. Up until 2020, this was something associated with countries like North Korea, Communist China, the former Soviet Union, NAZIs, and oppressive countries around the world. The West cherished its tradition of free thought and the free exchange of ideas. It appears today, this tradition of freedom of speech, is being targeted.
In the 1400s Gutenberg’s printing press revolutionized the Western World. The invention of the printing press made books more readily available spurring an age of information and decentralization of knowledge, essentially giving birth to a new broader marketplace of ideas. This history changing invention coincided with the fall of Constantinople and the collapse of what was left of the Eastern Roman Empire. The exodus of classical manuscripts from Constantinople to Rome spurred the Italian Renaissance and the broader European Renaissance.
This European rebirth of civilization, with the spread of classical knowledge, amplified the force of individual liberty in Western Civilization. The somewhat uniquely Western concept of freedom of consciousness that was forged in the Dark Ages and Medieval Ages, in the tug of war between ecclesiastical and secular authorities, had a platform for expression in the mass production of books.
In the 1990s and early 2000s the internet was viewed in many ways like Gutenberg’s invention. It spurred an information revolution that was a force for decentralization of information comparable to the printing press. It wasn’t just that information could be easily shared across the planet, it was also revolutionary, because anyone could establish a website, become a publisher of that information, and share that information across the planet.
Search engines, including Google, became analogous to user friendly libraries with a seemingly infinite number of books in the form of websites. Social networks eventually came about where people could share information and connect with each other more easily. I didn’t really get this at first. I didn’t understand why people would want to put their data on someone else’s website and promote someone else’s website rather than their own.
The deep state enabled specific search engines and social networks to end up dominating the market. The dark side of the web slowly began to emerge over the past ten to fifteen years as censorship started creeping in. Acting under the color of law censorship became more overt. This was first only in the form of shadow banning websites on search engines and individuals on social networks, then, the censorship became more overt, and then outright oppressive during 2020 with the advent of the plandemic. Since 2020, the advent of oppressive censorship has not been limited to search engines and social networks. The censorship has grown as banks and financial institutions have interrupted payment processing and companies have shut down the webservers for websites all based on political ideology.
As a result of the censorship, new platforms have emerged and are viewed as direct threats to authoritarianism.

Why is the West Suddenly Revealing Its Troop Presence in Ukraine?

And on March 8, Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski stunningly confirmed that “NATO military personnel are already present in Ukraine.”
How many troops could be sent before triggering a Russian response? Hopefully, the United States, Germany and others, including Spain, Greece, and Slovakia are sincere in their insistence that no (more?) NATO troops will be sent to Ukraine. One German source told Le Monde that Macron “said that there was no consensus on the subject, but that’s not true: The truth is that France was isolated because most participants expressed their clear refusal.”
It has long been an open secret that the West has been providing Ukraine with funding, weapons, training, maintenance, targeting intelligence, and intelligence on the position of Russian forces and vulnerabilities, and even war-gaming. They have provided Ukraine with everything but the bodies. President Joe Biden has long insisted that American troops “are not and will not be engaged in a conflict with Russia in Ukraine.” The West has long denied that it is directly involved in the war or that they have troops in Ukraine.
And that is mostly true. It is Ukrainian soldiers that are being injured and killed in the hundreds of thousands. But it is not entirely true.
After two years of steadfast denial, there has been, over just a couple of weeks in February and March, a flurry of admissions and revelations that there are NATO troops in Ukraine. The question is, why? What is the motivation behind this sudden trove of revelations?
The flurry was kicked off by the release of a transcript of an intercepted February 19 conversation between senior German air force officials that revealed that the United Kingdom has people on the ground in Ukraine. Discussing how German Taurus long-range missiles could be operated in Ukraine, one official says that the Germans “know how the English do it…They have several people on-site.” The conversation between the German officials also appears to implicate the United States. One official says, “It’s known that there are numerous people there in civilian attire who speak with an American accent.”
On February 26, a New York Times report revealed who those civilians may be. More than 200 current and former officials leaked to the Times that “scores” of CIA officers are in Ukraine where they “help the Ukrainians” by providing “intelligence for targeted missile strikes” and “intelligence support for lethal operations against Russian forces on Ukrainian soil.”
On February 26, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz broadened the list to include France. Scholz defended his decision not to send Taurus missiles to Ukraine by saying that it would require the presence of Germans in Ukraine to match their British and French counterparts. He explained, “What is being done in the way of target control and accompanying target control on the part of the British and the French can’t be done in Germany.”

Like pubs dropping the price of drinks during “happy hour” or restaurants promoting “early bird specials” to diners who come in before the evening rush, Wendy’s wants to give customers an incentive to visit during off-peak hours. That is hardly “price gouging,” no matter what Senator Warren says.

I’VE NEVER had a meal at Wendy’s. But the fast-food chain boasts 12 million loyalty members and had revenue of more than $2 billion in 2023, so it clearly knows something about selling hamburgers (and chicken nuggets and fries and Frosty milkshakes). To keep growing its sales, Wendy’s, like any retail company, has to get the price right — high enough to make a profit, low enough to attract customers, deft enough to account for the competition, flexible enough to respond to shifts in demand.
No surprise, then, that Wendy’s executives put a lot of thought into pricing strategy or that the subject came up when Kirk Tanner, the company’s brand-new CEO, held his first quarterly earnings call with Wall Street analysts last month. He noted that the company was investing $20 million to equip all its US restaurants with new digital menu boards, a technology that makes it possible to adjust prices, change menu items, or edit descriptions at will.
“Beginning as early as 2025, we will begin testing more enhanced features like dynamic pricing and day-part offerings,” Tanner said.
His remarks raised no eyebrows at the time. But on Feb. 26 the New York Post reported that Wendy’s was preparing to roll out “an ‘Uber-style’ surge-pricing model where the cost of menu items will fluctuate throughout the day based on demand.” Decrying the company’s plans as “unappetizing,” the Post blasted Wendy’s for gearing up to “squeeze more money out of already inflation-battered Americans who may not have the option to eat their meals during ‘off-peak’ hours.” That triggered an anti-Wendy’s backlash that some demagogues rushed to exploit.
“You could pay more for your lunch, even if the cost to Wendy’s stays exactly the same,” fumed Senator Elizabeth Warren, who rarely passes up an opportunity to inveigh against a retail company. “It’s price gouging plain and simple, and American families have had enough.” The Daily Show’s Ronny Chieng had a much funnier take, envisioning himself buying 1,000 burgers when the price is low, “and then I sell them high at lunchtime. . . . I’m flipping burgers, but in a rich way!”
But Wendy’s had not used the term “surge pricing,” let alone described anything as “Uber-style.” Ride-hailing apps charge more during periods when traffic spikes and nearby drivers are in short supply — during a downpour, for example, or on New Year’s Eve. Customers sometimes grumble, but it’s basic economics: When demand rises, so do prices. That’s why airfares peak in the days leading up to Christmas and why a house on the beach is a lot more expensive to rent in July than in January.
What makes sense for vacation rentals and gig-economy drivers, however, can’t be transplanted to the fast-food industry. There was never any indication that Wendy’s was proposing to jack up the price of a Dave’s Double or a Taco Salad on days when more lunch customers than usual walked through the door. “We have no plans to do that,” the company said in a statement responding to the backlash. Instead, “digital menu boards could allow us to change the menu offerings at different times of day and offer discounts and value offers to our customers more easily, particularly in the slower times of day.”

Joe Biden is once again taking a ‘wrecking ball’ to America’s housing market

In his State of the Union address, Biden proclaimed, “My administration is also eliminating title insurance on federally backed mortgages.” What could possibly go wrong?
Subsidized mortgages helped send home prices skyrocketing in recent years, along with the Federal Reserve artificially suppressing interest rates.
Since Biden took office, the average monthly mortgage payment for new home has almost doubled, reaching $3,322 per month.

Unfortunately, you will be on the hook for Joe Biden’s latest vote buying scheme to subsidize mortgages for houses with shaky titles.

Title insurance protects homeowners against financial loss if there is a defect in the title to their property.

As Rep. Patrick McHenry (R-NC), chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, declared in 2013, “Rank cronyism, Enron-style accounting and outright financial fraud made [Fannie and Freddie] so powerful and unaccountable that they were able to wreck our economy.”
Despite the debacles earlier in this century, Team Biden is championing “no clean title, no problem” mortgage loans.
Biden policymakers believe they are so smart that they can turbo-charge housing demand while removing the guardrails — and nothing bad will happen (except Biden’s reelection).
In lieu of title insurance, the Biden administration will approve granting subsidized mortgages based on “attorney opinion letters” that assert a lawyer believes someone owns a house.
Such form letters can now be purchased for $199 in some locales. This sounds on par with the $99 online deals selling “emotional support animal letters” people exploit to “prove” they need their dog, cat, kangaroo or squirrel with them at all times.
Having a page of pablum on fancy law-firm letterhead will be no competition for a clean deed — or a tangled land dispute that could go back generations.
A recent report by FundingShield found that home title fraud risk “reached an all-time high” late last year.

This is the final part of my 3-part essay on “Know Your Enemy.” In this essay, I describe how we win.
In part 1, I described how the murderous, bloody Bolshevik revolution of 1917 in Russia brought into power the same kind of people who rule over us today. And in part 2, I gave you, my readers, a step by step account of how we got here, to the sorry state of the modern West, about how the Frankfurt School and its followers and disciples brought about disintegration, decay, disruption and degeneration from within, of the Christian Civilization the West had inherited over many centuries and a millennium.
The Bolsheviks (i.e. those following the the Russian brand of Communism) have always tried to infiltrate, influence and convert Americans to the Bolshevik and Communist cause. The evangelist Billy Graham once read to his audience a letter that had been handed over to him, written by a young American man who had been engaged to be married.
In the letter, the new, young convert to the Bolshevik communist cause explains why he feels compelled to break off his engagement with the girl he had promised to marry.
In the context of our present world and the Neo-Marxists who now run our Governments, our bureaucracies, our schools and Universities, please remember that the same Bolsheviks who converted this young American recruit to their cause in 1957, are now just as determined, just as fanatically committed to their cause as they were several decades ago.
