Burt lays out the complicated scene, with the British in particular conducting very clever, successful and, at times, devious propaganda campaigns in the US aimed at whipping up American sympathy for the Allies.

This book, which I have not read, concerns WW I. The reviewers comment regarding the British drive for US entry caught my attention.

The same thing occurred prior to WW II. There was a huge British propaganda effort for US entry into the war. It had the full backing of FDR. In ‘Desperate Deception’ by Thomas Mahl we learned the British propaganda machine was housed on a couple floors of Rockefeller Center!

A reread of War Is A Racket by General Smedley Butler always keeps our thinking in perspective on government’s version of the truth.

As if I needed another reason to hold FDR and the Rockefellers in disregard.

Be seeing you
