Libertarian Party of Pennsylvania

On this day, July 17th, 1984, the national drinking age rose to 21, a federal mandate strong-arming states via highway funds. This overreach curtailed personal choice under a “safety” pretext, and created a dangerous precedent for control of the Federal government over the states.
The Libertarian Party of Pennsylvania opposes it—liberty means adults decide, not bureaucrats. We reject moralizing laws, favoring responsibility over control.
