Medical Cost-70,000 Reasons Why It Will Go Up

If after reading this you still want the UN and US government involved in medicine you had better see a doctor.  When insurance rates go up (again) and your doctor retires early you now know why.

A few excerpts from the comments on medical ailment coding:

V97.33XD: Sucked into jet engine, subsequent encounter. (subsequent encounter?  (you mean the individual survived the first encounter?)

W55.41XA: Bitten by pig, initial encounter​. (I’m waiting for the TV series, “The Dead Walking Pigs”)

Z63.1: Problems in relationship with in-laws. (Do we really need a code for this?  Can’t we just assume everyone who is married suffers from this?)

W55.29XA: Other contact with cow, subsequent encounter. (Exactly what kind of contact are we talking about?  Isn’t that illegal in most states?)
