Polish-led ‘counter-revolution’ gaining traction in EU: opinion – English Section – polskieradio.pl

Poland is spearheading a “counter-revolution” in the European Union that is garnering the support of other countries, according to a columnist for the Austrian daily Die Presse, as cited by a Polish news outlet.

In a column for the Austrian newspaper’s website, journalist and author Karl-Peter Schwarz questioned the rationale of politicians and journalists who “intend to give the Polish, Hungarian and Slovenian people lessons in democracy and the rule of law,” according to Polish online daily dziennik.pl.

“Shouldn’t Germans and Austrians be verbally defusing the dispute, instead of fanning the flames?,” Schwarz asked in his piece, entitled “Poland at the forefront of a European counter-revolution,” as quoted by the Polish news outlet on Thursday.

He argued that any declarations of guilt on the part of Germans and Austrians, for the crimes committed by their forefathers in Poland and other countries, “lose credibility when you threaten those states and blackmail their governments,” dziennik.pl reported.

“The current conflict with Poland concerns the primacy of EU law over national, including constitutional, law,” Schwarz said.

“This primacy is not enshrined in the EU’s Treaties, but flows from the verdicts issued by the bloc’s Court of Justice (CJEU),” he added.

Having ratified the Lisbon Treaty, “Poland must recognise the primacy of the CJEU, but so should Germany, whose Constitutional Tribunal ruled that a buy-out of the European Central Bank’s bonds was unconstitutional in aspects approved by the CJEU,” Schwartz wrote in his column, according to dziennik.pl.

“Yet Poland is citing the German case in vain, for in the EU there are first-class, second-class and third-class members,” he argued.

Schwarz also wrote was that EU law “from the outset was political in nature” because its aim was ever closer integration, as reflected in Article 1 of the Lisbon Treaty, dziennik.pl reported.

It quoted Schwarz as saying that Poland was not the only EU member that was “disputing the CJEU’s role as the ultimate arbiter of the quality of the rule of law in member states.”

Germany’s constitutional judges have also called for “constitutional pluralism,” according to Schwarz, as quoted by dziennik.pl, while ex-Brexit negotiator and French presidential candidate Michel Barnier “is urging his country to regain legal sovereignty.”

Poland’s Constitutional Tribunal “is clearly calling into question a model of European integration in which judges force elected politicians to forge an ever closer Union,” Schwarz also wrote, according to dziennik.pl.

“The EU is facing a veritable democratic counter-revolution, a counter-revolution that submits for discussion the old, only superficially solved, problem of national sovereignty in the context of a confederation of countries,” he was quoted as saying.

“This counter-revolution emanates from the states of the Visegrad Group (comprising Poland, Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic), but it is receiving backing in other countries, as well,” Schwarz concluded, as cited by the Polish website.

Karl-Peter Schwarz is a former long-time correspondent of various Austrian and German media outlets in Central and Eastern Europe, now a freelance journalist and author, dziennik.pl said.

Calling those who oppose totalitarian Covid-19 measures #COVIDIOTS is just another tactic by our sheepherders to shut down debate — RT Op-ed

Posted by M. C. on March 25, 2020

I could not believe what I was reading! The headline implored, ‘Lock Us Down: Suspend Habeas; Save the Nation’. The author Michael Dorf, a Cornell University Professor, was urging the US Government to suspend the rule of law.

Predictably, in a climate of insecurity brought on by COVID-19 many people become scared and their anxiety can be easily exploited by groups of fear entrepreneurs.

Frank Furedi

People who raise doubts about the set up of a police state in response to Covid-19 are denounced as irresponsible idiots. But those who want to be locked down have no monopoly on wisdom, we must resist the locking down of debate.

At first, I could not believe what I was reading! The headline implored, ‘Lock Us Down: Suspend Habeas; Save the Nation’. The author Michael Dorf, a Cornell University Professor, was urging the US Government to suspend the rule of law.

Dorf acknowledged that suspending habeas corpus — which has been recognised as a fundamental feature of a free society — is an ‘extreme measure’, but he believes that it is a small price to pay for making people feel safe.

Unfortunately, the demand to close down society is not confined to a small number of authoritarian minded law professors. The entire Anglo-American media has become wedded to the idea that unless governments adopt extreme measures, humanity will face extinction. Anyone listening to the media or reading the press is left in no doubt that if the British Prime Minister doesn’t impose a harsh regime social control, he will be dumped by either his ministers or by popular pressure.

At recent press conferences with Boris Johnson, one journo after another called on him to shut down UK Plc. Larisa Brown of the Daily Mail could barely contain her anger, when she blurted out: “people aren’t acting responsibly so when are you going to get tougher and bring in the police?

Regrettably, the herd like demand to give up hard fought liberties, is coupled with an intense level of hostility towards anyone who disagrees with the call for establishing, what would be in effect a police state. Those of us who raise doubts about the call to close down the nation are denounced as irresponsible idiots, who are prepared to play with other people’s lives. They are, in the words of panic-in-chief Piers Morgan, covidiots, who need to be kept at a distance from other members of the community.

The public health emergency facing the world has allowed those who are in any case disposed towards intolerance to let rip at anyone who questions the wisdom of some of the measures put in place by the government. Anyone reading the twitterstorm directed at journalists such as Peter Hitchens or Brendan O’Neill would imagine that instead of raising questions about the shutting down of pubs, they were calling for the institutionalization of child murder.

Predictably, in a climate of insecurity brought on by COVID-19 many people become scared and their anxiety can be easily exploited by groups of fear entrepreneurs. In recent days, the media has gone out its way to highlight every example of anti-social behaviour at supermarkets. It has let rip at parents who decided to take their children to parks or to the seaside on a sunny Sunday. Pictures of people enjoying a day out in the open air have been portrayed as the behaviour of irresponsible COVID zombies that threaten our very existence.

Despite the fact that in reality there has been very little irresponsible behaviour by members of the public, in a febrile atmosphere of blame and recrimination many people have become influenced by the rhetoric of fear. In local community websites and conversations there is far too much finger pointing at people who behave in ways not approved by so called opinion-makers. In these circumstances even people who know that there is something deeply wrong with the demagogic rhetoric of people like Piers Morgan, find it difficult to voice their dissent.

Yet, we must raise our concerns and questions when we feel that society is going in the wrong direction. Instead of closing down dissent, we need a mature and grown-up attitude towards those with whom we disagree. Precisely because no one has the answer to all of the problems thrown up in this pandemic, we need to hear all points of view. Those who want to be locked down do not possess a monopoly on wisdom. We must resist the locking down of debate and discussion. On the contrary, it is precisely in an emergency that we need to open up all channels of communication, so that every member of the public feels that their voice still counts.

Civil war RISK, state by state: Is your state likely to be drawn into kinetic conflict as the rule of law disintegrates across America? – NaturalNews.com

Posted by M. C. on December 31, 2019

https://www.naturalnews.com/2019-12-29-ten-things-that-could-ignite-a-civil-war-in-2020.html

Notably, all Americans need to understand that until John Brennan, James Comey, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton are arrested and indicted, there is no legitimate, functioning rule of law in America. If the most malicious, treasonous criminals can still walk the streets as free people, even after carrying out the most heinous conspiracy of crimes against America, then we do not have any functioning rule of law at all.

If a civil war is ignited in 2020, it won’t be like the North vs. South arrangement of 1861 – 1865. Rather, it will be structured as a series of state-focused mini-civil wars that pit the armed, rural, pro-American patriots against the treasonous, lawless, anti-American Democrats in their capital cities.

Conflict will be local or regional, in other words, not national. If such conflicts occur where you live, you could very easily find yourself caught up in life-threatening disruptions such as power grid outages, local martial law or truckers refusing to enter the war zones, resulting in long-term supply line outages of food, fuel, medicine and other important supplies.

That’s why it’s important to consider the areas where local or regional civil war conflicts are likely to occur.

The states most likely to experience civil war conflicts if the lawless Democrats manage to ignite the war they want

Analysis: Such civil war scenarios are most likely to occur primarily in:

  • Democrat-controlled states
  • …that have large regions of conservative residents outside the capital cities
  • …where Democrats are increasingly aggressive in depriving rural residents of their Second Amendment rights
  • … and where gun ownership among private citizens is high

The states with the most restrictive gun laws are shown in the following map:

As you can see, states with the most restrictive gun laws include California, Oregon, Washington, Colorado, Minnesota, Illinois, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and virtually all the NE states except for Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont.

Among those states with the most restrictive gun laws, the states with the largest rural areas include California, Oregon, Washington, Colorado, Minnesota, Illinois and Pennsylvania.

This map shows the percentage of gun ownership among citizens of each state:

Note that even in anti-gun states with strict gun control laws, gun ownership is often one-quarter of the population or higher, indicating firearms ownership is very common.

And here’s a relatively recent map of which party is in charge of the governorships of each state (slightly outdated):

The states that fit the criteria for possible flare-ups of local or regional civil war are:

  • Virginia (due to its recent activity attacking 2A sanctuaries)
  • Washington
  • Oregon
  • California
  • Colorado
  • Minnesota
  • North Carolina
  • Pennsylvania
  • Illinois

I would put Oregon, Virginia, Washington and Colorado at the top of that list…

Thus, there exists the potential for local conflicts in all the following states, although this risk is likely lower than for the states mentioned earlier:

  • Nevada
  • Utah
  • Idaho
  • Wyoming
  • Arizona
  • New Mexico
  • Montana
  • Kentucky
  • Texas
  • Nebraska
  • Kansas
  • Oklahoma
  • Iowa
  • Missouri
  • Arkansas
  • Louisiana
  • Mississippi
  • Michigan
  • Wisconsin
  • Indiana
  • Tennessee
  • Alabama
  • Georgia
  • Ohio
  • West Virginia
  • Maine
  • New Hampshire
  • Vermont

Among those states, the ones most likely to experience smaller, local conflicts are probably New Mexico, Texas, Michigan and Georgia, all of which are mostly rural states characterized by extreme corruption and tyranny of Democrats who seek to destroy the rights of rural citizens.

States with strong democrat control throughout

States where Democrat control is so strong that no pro-America forces are likely to challenge their power include:

  • Connecticut
  • Maryland
  • New York
  • New Jersey
  • Rhode Island

California has a special status in all this, given that Gov. Newsom has his own private army and has already completed a secret deal with communist China to turn the West Coast ports into military landing zones for invading Chinese troops. (Newsom is a total criminal who should be indicted for treason.) This means rural Californians may find themselves fighting not only Democrat-controlled anti-America forces in the left-wing cities, but also facing invading foreign troops. The best strategy for pro-America Californians living outside the cities is to let the cities burn and don’t get sucked into urban combat. Let the Chinese troops face off against the MS-13 gang bangers and see who emerges the victor, then blow their heads off as they try to move Eastward or Northward…

This night lights map of the USA, overlaid with state boundaries, is particularly helpful for understanding this crucial point. When things go bad, you want to be as far away from the high-density lighted areas as possible:

Note that everything east of the Mississippi, except for the far northeast, is extremely dense in terms of population. The Eastern half of Texas is also quite dense, with way too much light in Dallas, Houston and San Antonio.

Denver is lit up, too, as is Phoenix. Along the west coast, you have extreme population density in southern California, plus the Bay Area, Portland and Seattle.

All these areas characterized by bright night lights are, of course, death traps in any collapse.

If you’re looking to get far, far away from other people, the answers are obvious: Utah, Wyoming, West Texas, Montana, eastern Oregon, Nevada, and so on.

You can even get away from a lot of it in northern California, or western Kansas, for example…

In fact, the way you respond to gunfire tells me everything I need to know about you. If your first inclination, upon hearing gunfire, is to panic and call the police, you are a weak-minded city dweller and probably not a survivor
