Missed Education Opportunity

There has certainly been a lot of discussion regarding the state’s reduction in its redistribution of our taxes towards education. It has had its affect in the Erie area. I see a wonderful opportunity that is being missed. What is worse than having your federal tax money inefficiently redistributed to some school a thousand miles away? Well, a lot actually, but that is why I started this blog. Presumably we will have little tax increase in the near future due to the debt limit mess. Parents and those who love the state school education system could take their share (or more) of the non increase in their tax and contribute it directly to their school or school program of choice. The local school budget problem would be eased without incurring the usual taxation, bureaucracy, redistribution inefficiencies. This would be a wonderful opportunity for parents who really care to help insure the quality of their children’s education. Lover’s of the system-What do you say?
Oh by the way, have you Erie PA folks seen the recent per student cost comparison between city schools and the non government Cathedral Prep?
