Nolte: Poynter Temporarily Pulls Blacklist with a Big Lie and Promise to Return

Posted by M. C. on May 3, 2019

Poynter.org is a Journalism school that claims to “champion the values” of press freedom.

Why Barbara Allen and Poynter are important is unknown to me. Breitbart thinks they are but Breitbart like to publicize what rappers and Hollywood twits have to say.

Poynter is funded by George Soros’ Open Society and supporters that you might find funding NPR. So that tells you something.

https://www.breitbart.com/the-media/2019/05/03/nolte-poynter-temporarily-pulls-blacklist-with-a-big-lie-and-promise-to-return/

by John Nolte

Poynter’s announcement about pulling its blacklist of 515 news outlets is not only framed around a lie, but a promise the blacklist will return.

The lie is so audacious and flies so hard in the face of what we all know to be true, if Poynter were anything close to a credible institution it would list itself as fake news.

Twice in this three-paragraph statement, Poynter’s managing editor Barbara Allen tells this lie.

Here’s big, fat lie number one: “Our aim was to provide a useful tool for readers to gauge the legitimacy of the information they were consuming.”

And here’s big, fat lie number two: “The list was intended to be a starting place for readers and journalists to learn more about the veracity of websites that purported to offer news[.]”

Lie, lie, lie, lie lie… That is all a lie…

According to Poynter’s own words, its own introduction to its blacklist, the “aim” was to give advertisers a list of news sites that a) they should not advertise with or b) pull their advertising from.

Poynter’s own words promise that their advertiser “blacklist” (yes, Poynter actually uses that word) is better than your advertiser blacklist [emphasis added]:

Advertisers don’t want to support publishers that might tar their brand with hate speech, falsehoods or some kinds of political messaging — but too often, they have little choice in the matter.

Most ad-tech dashboards make it hard for businesses to prevent their ads from appearing on (and funding) disreputable sites. Marketers can create blacklists, but many of those lists have been out-of-date or incomplete.

Aside from journalists, researchers and news consumers, we hope that the UnNews index will be useful for advertisers that want to stop funding misinformation.

“Marketers can create blacklists,” Poynter helpfully points out, but since your blacklist might not be as comprehensive as our blacklist here’s a handy blacklist that will allow you to blacklist those we believe should be blacklisted.

Poynter’s list includes… Breitbart News, the Media Research Center, Pajamas Media, Washington Examiner, The Daily Wire, The Blaze, Red State, Project Veritas, Newsmax, Zero Hedge, LifeSite, Judicial Watch, Frontpage, The Washington Free Beacon, The Daily Caller, and the Drudge Report…

But nowhere on this list will you find the establishment media outlets — CNN, NBC, the Washington Post, Politico, the New York Times, MSNBC, etc. —  responsible for blowing the biggest stories of the last five years:

  • The Trayvon Martin Hoax
  • The Hands Up, Don’t Shoot Hoax
  • Donald Trump Can’t Win
  • The Russia Collusion Hoax
  • The Brett Kavanaugh Serial Rapist Hoax
  • The Covington High School Boys Hoax

Poynter’s blacklist was only about one thing, had only one goal — one — and that was to tell advertisers to starve alternative media, alternative thought and ideas to death…

Facebook bans extremist leaders including Farrakhan, Jones, Yiannopoulos for being ‘dangerous’

Posted by M. C. on May 3, 2019

Antifa? Pentagon? CIA? FIB? NSA? John Bolton? Soros?  Who do you fear more?

https://www.chron.com/news/article/Facebook-bans-far-right-leaders-including-13814271.php

Facebook said Thursday that it has permanently banned several far-right and anti-Semitic figures and organizations, including Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, Infowars host Alex Jones, Milo Yiannopoulos and Laura Loomer, for being “dangerous,” a sign that the social network is more aggressively enforcing its hate-speech policies at a moment when bigoted violence is on the rise around the world.

Facebook said it was going to remove the accounts, fan pages, and groups affiliated with these individuals on both Facebook and its sister site Instagram after it reevaluated the content that they had posted previously, or had examined their activities outside of Facebook, the company said. The removal also pertains to at least one of the organizations run by these people, Jones’ Infowars…

Will the Real Moron Please Stand Up? – Antiwar.com Original

Posted by M. C. on May 3, 2019

https://original.antiwar.com/justin/2019/05/02/will-the-real-moron-please-stand-up/

“I wonder how he goes to work every day,” says a longtime aide to John Bolton, “because deep in his heart he believes the President is a moron.”

The joke is on Bolton. Having been handed a near impossible task in overthrowing the leftist regimes of Venezuela and Nicaragua, Bolton and his little neocon cabal have been set up for failure – and Trump doesn’t like failure. When it comes to neocon foreign policy, you can reverse the Trumpism that the President adorns his speeches with: Are you tired of losing yet?

And defeat looms large in the neocon effort to bring down Maduro.

Wednesday (May 1) was supposed to be the Day of Revolution in which the Yankee running dogs of imperialism were supposed to be defeated and run out of the country.

It didn’t happen...

Maduro and his “socialist” party are about as socialist as any typical socialist democratic Party in the European Union. There are plenty of opposition parties, none of which are too popular. Their record consists chiefly of bombast, which has little if any difference from that of its rivals: we will take care of you, just don’t give us too much trouble. Like it’s twin, the Sandinistas of Nicaragua, it has a fanatically loyal military which it depends on in order to maintain power – which is why the comic-opera appeals by the rebels to come over to the opposition have the air of a child’s game.

There is nothing “Red” about Venezuela: it is “Bolivarian,” in other words it is nationalist. There is no threat, either ideological or military, emanating from Caracas.

There are no real American interests in this comical effort to conquer a country that has no material resources of any possible interest to Washington: Aside from oil, which is rapidly diminishing in value, it’s a purely ideological enterprise. The Cubans, the Russians, the Chinese, even the foot soldiers of Hezbollah, for chrissake, are all supposedly involved in this sinister plot to violate the Monroe Doctrine – the perfect neocon piñata! Except this one won’t pop.

Venezuela will never fall to the Yankees for the simple reason that Washington is far more hated than the little Lenins of Caracas. The history of our dogged efforts to dominate the country, the inability of the government to create an economy that should be able to maintain a moderately wealthy economy, the persistence of sharp class divisions – such a government that masks an overwhelming incompetence with the sobriquet of “socialist” deserves to be overthrown – but not by the political designs of John Bolton. As I’ve said in previous columns, this administration’s Venezuela’s project is more about American domestic politics than anything having to do with US foreign politics. The President has put the neocons, his longtime enemies, in an untenable position – setting them up for defeat…

Congress will rediscover its suzerainty over US foreign policy … nah, wait, that’s one prediction far too fantastical.

The Death of Socialism – LewRockwell

Posted by M. C. on May 3, 2019

https://www.lewrockwell.com/2019/05/martin-armstrong/the-death-of-socialism/

By

Armstrong Economics

Socialism is dying because governments have made promises they cannot keep. Now when people expect that they will be there, they suddenly find the promises have been constantly revised. They always point to the rich and how they will make them pay. Everything who thinks they cannot possibly be the rich cheer, but at the end of the day, their taxes never decline and the promised-land seems further and further away…

Socialism is dying and in the process this will only inspire violence. People believed in this system. They really believed those in power had their best interests at heart. Unfortunately, we are moving into this darkness where more and more people are beginning to realize that government is the number one problem – not Global Warming.

Pompeo Lies, Cheats, and Steals – LewRockwell

Posted by M. C. on May 3, 2019

Also, denying a country income ultimately hurts ordinary people much more than it does those who make the decisions. One recalls the famous Madeleine Albright line about killing 500,000 Iraqi children through malnutrition and disease brought about by sanctions as “being worth it.”

https://www.lewrockwell.com/2019/05/phil-giraldi/pompeo-lies-cheats-and-steals-but-hes-still-a-good-christian/

By

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo recently recounted to an audience at Texas A&M University that when he was head of the Central Intelligence Agency he was responsible for “lying, cheating and stealing” to benefit the United States. “Like we had entire training courses. It reminds you of the glory of the American experiment.”

The Secretary made the comment with a grin, noting that when he was a cadet at West Point he subscribed to the Academy honor code, which stated that “You will not lie, cheat, or steal or tolerate those who do.” The largely student audience clearly appreciated and irony and laughed and applauded, though it is not clear what they made of the “glory of the American experiment.” The normally humorless Pompeo was suggesting ironically that yesterday’s Pompeo would be required to turn today’s Pompeo into the appropriate authorities for lying and also conniving at high crimes and misdemeanors while at the Agency…

Pompeo has personally assured both the Venezuelans and Iranians that “all options are on the table,” while also arming the Ukrainians and warning the Russians to get out of Caracas or else face the consequences. And it is a good thing that he has now learned how to lie as he does so when he keeps insisting that the Iranians are the leading state sponsors of terrorism or that the Saudis are fighting a just war in Yemen.

And then there is the ethical dimension. Read the rest of this entry »

US Out of Venezuela – LewRockwell

Posted by M. C. on May 3, 2019

Venezuela’s situation is not sustainable. Let the fate of the Marxist Socialist regime of Nicolas Maduro be decided by the people of Venezuela.

https://www.lewrockwell.com/2019/05/patrick-j-buchanan/let-venezuela-decide-its-own-destiny/

By

“Who would be free themselves must strike the blow…

“By their right arms the conquest must be wrought.”

So wrote Lord Byron of Greece’s war of independence against the Turks, though the famed British poet would ignore his own counsel and die just days after arriving in Greece to join the struggle.

Yet Byron’s advice is the wise course for the United States, and for the people of Venezuela who seek to free their country of the grip of the incompetent and dictatorial regime of Nicolas Maduro.

Let the Venezuelans decide their own destiny, as did we.

Opposition leader Juan Guaido, recognized by the U.S. and 50 other nations as president, has failed to persuade the army to abandon Maduro.

Yet he can still muster larger crowds in the streets of Caracas to demand the ouster of Maduro than Maduro can call out to stand by his regime.

Tuesday and Wednesday, Guaido announced that the regime’s final hour was at hand. But by midweek, the army’s leaders, including the minister of defense, still stood with Maduro.

Guaido’s opportunity seems to have passed by, at least for the moment. Maduro remains in power, though his generals, weighing the odds, have apparently been negotiating in secret with Guaido.

The Trump administration has backed Guaido, only to see him fail twice now at taking power.

The White House backed the plan in February to breach Venezuela’s borders with truckloads of food and medicine, counting on the army not to use force to block the trucks.

Vice President Mike Pence traveled to the border.

But Guaido and the Americans miscalculated. The army stood by Maduro. The trucks were kept out. Read the rest of this entry »

5 Controversial Books That Teach You How to Manipulate People | The Daily Bell

Posted by M. C. on May 2, 2019

https://www.thedailybell.com/all-articles/news-analysis/5-controversial-books-that-teach-you-how-to-manipulate-people/

By Joe Jarvis

It’s not bad to study how to manipulate people.

We study plenty of things that you shouldn’t do: war, crime, genocide.

Understanding how these things happen is key to avoiding them in the future.

We need to study manipulation to make sure others cannot wield that power over us.

That is why no information should be off limits. Learning how to accomplish evil deeds allows us to prevent ourselves from becoming the victims, or tools, of evildoers.

There’s a reason rulers banned the printing press and burned books. They considered knowledge dangerous… because it is. It is dangerous to those who would keep us ignorant of their tactics to hold power over us.

1. The 48 Laws of Power

The 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene causes the simple-minded to protest.

Laws of power include such gems as:

  • Learn to keep people dependent on you
  • Pose as a friend, work as a spy
  • Do not commit to anyone
  • Play to people’s fantasies

But there is also some great advice which we can use without scruples:

  • Win through your actions, never through argument
  • When asking for help, appeal to people’s self -interest, never to their mercy or gratitude
  • Know who you’re dealing with, do not offend the wrong person
  • Plan all the way to the end…

2. Rules for Radicals

In Rules for Radicals, Saul Alinsky provided the blueprint for such power-hungry sociopaths like Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.

He suggested stoking divisions and creating a common enemy in order to accomplish your goals… Read the rest of this entry »

F.B.I. Sent Investigator Posing as Assistant to Meet With Trump Aide in 2016

Posted by M. C. on May 2, 2019

From NYT!!!

This is Your FIB!

hoover

Yes son, you too can grow up to be lying scum and hate black people.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/fbi-sent-investigator-posing-as-assistant-to-meet-with-trump-aide-in-2016/ar-AAAOePQ

Adam Goldman, Michael S. Schmidt and Mark Mazzetti

WASHINGTON — The conversation at a London bar in September 2016 took a strange turn when the woman sitting across from George Papadopoulos, a Trump campaign adviser, asked a direct question: Was the Trump campaign working with Russia?

The woman had set up the meeting to discuss foreign policy issues. But she was actually a government investigator posing as a research assistant, according to people familiar with the operation. The F.B.I. sent her to London as part of the counterintelligence inquiry opened that summer to better understand the Trump campaign’s links to Russia.

The American government’s affiliation with the woman, who said her name was Azra Turk, is one previously unreported detail of an operation that has become a political flash point in the face of accusations by President Trump and his allies that American law enforcement and intelligence officials spied on his campaign to undermine his electoral chances. Last year, he called it “Spygate.”

The decision to use Ms. Turk in the operation aimed at a presidential campaign official shows the level of alarm inside the F.B.I. during a frantic period when the bureau was trying to determine the scope of Russia’s attempts to disrupt the 2016 election, but could also give ammunition to Mr. Trump and his allies for their spying claims.

Ms. Turk went to London to help oversee the politically sensitive operation, working alongside a longtime informant, the Cambridge professor Stefan A. Halper. The move was a sign that the bureau wanted in place a trained investigator for a layer of oversight, as well as someone who could gather information for or serve as a credible witness in any potential prosecution that emerged from the case.

A spokesman for the F.B.I. declined to comment, as did a lawyer for Mr. Halper, Robert D. Luskin. Last year, Bill Priestap, then the bureau’s top counterintelligence agent who was deeply involved in the Russia inquiry, told Congress during a closed-door hearing that there was no F.B.I. conspiracy against Mr. Trump or his campaign…

Mr. Halper’s connections to the Trump administration strengthened from there. He was invited as part of a group of China experts to meet with White House advisers in 2017. Mr. Halper informed the F.B.I. of the invitation but was not provided with any guidance, people familiar with the episode said.

The group met briefly with Peter Navarro, the president’s top trade representative, who had interviewed Mr. Halper years earlier at Mr. Halper’s home in Virginia for a documentary. According to Axios, the administration also considered Mr. Halper for an ambassadorship.

In an interview with Fox Radio, Mr. Navarro said he viewed Mr. Halper’s role as an F.B.I. informant as a betrayal, saying he felt “duped.”

Photos: First-Ever U.S. Government Delegation at Auschwitz for March of the Living

Posted by M. C. on May 2, 2019

The Halocaust was a horrible thing.

First Ever… It took them long enough. Consider the timing. The “anti” Washington is really worried about is anti-Netayahu, anti-AIPAC, anti-BDS.

Hollywood actress Suzanne Somers also marched with the U.S. delegation

Do these Hollywood types realize they are Washington’s “useful idiots”?

AUSCHWITZ — The first-ever U.S. government delegation to the March of the Living annual Holocaust memorial arrived at Auschwitz on a somber Thursday morning, bringing several ambassadors and envoys in a show of solidarity against antisemitism.

“I couldn’t be more proud of the unprecedented commitment of this administration to fight against antisemitism,” U.S. Special Envoy to Combat and Monitor Antisemitism, Elan Carr, told reporters outside the infamous concentration camp…

Buzz Aldrin: It’s time to focus on the great migration of humankind to Mars

Posted by M. C. on May 2, 2019

we are headed back to the moon – An aerospace job creation program. The moon is too close to Washington for me. Mars is the real MIC goal. Why add a stop on a more forbidding rock?

Meanwhile, another looming orb – the red one – should become a serious focus of U.S. attention. – Great idea for Musks and Bransons of the world. Not the Military/Industrial/Congressional/Bankster Complex.

Keep government out. Getting as far away from Washington as possible should be the motivating factor.

this mission is unifying – for all Americans and for all humankind. – Excuse me while I wretch. Space militarization https://news.nationalgeographic.com/2018/06/space-force-trump-legal-military-role-satellites-science/
In a speech at the Pentagon on Thursday, U.S. Vice President Mike Pence announced more details for a Space Force: a proposed sixth branch of the U.S. military that would focus on all matters off-world, from procuring military satellites to defending U.S. spacecraft in orbit from attacks.

We also “Came in Peace for all Mankind.” – Pure BS – Remember Yuri Gagarin? The goal was to beat Russia.

https://www.greenwichtime.com/opinion/article/Buzz-Aldrin-It-s-time-to-focus-on-the-great-13811434.php

Buzz Aldrin

Last month, Vice President Mike Pence announced that we are headed back to the moon. I am with him, in spirit and aspiration. Having been there, I can say it is high time we returned. When Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins and I went to the moon 50 years ago this July, we did so with a mission. Apollo 11 aimed to prove America’s can-do commitment to space exploration, as well as its national security and technological superiority. We did all that. We also “Came in Peace for all Mankind.” More of that is needed now.

Today, many nations have eyes for the moon, from China and Russia to friends in Europe and Middle East. That is all good. The United States should cooperate – and offer itself as a willing team leader – in exploring every aspect of the moon, from its geology and topography to its hydrology and cosmic history. In doing so, we can take “low-Earth orbit” cooperation to the moon, openly, eagerly and collegially.

Meanwhile, another looming orb – the red one – should become a serious focus of U.S. attention. Mars is waiting to be discovered, not by clever robots and rovers – though I support NASA’s unmanned missions – but by living, breathing, walking, talking, caring and daring men and women.

To make that happen, members of Congress, the Trump administration and the American public must care enough to make human exploration missions to Mars a national priority. To be clear, I do not mean spending billions of taxpayer dollars on a few hijinks or joy rides, allowing those who return to write books, tweet photos and talk of the novelty. I mean something very different.

The United States’ eyes – and our unified commitment – should focus on opening the door, in our time, to the great migration of humankind to Mars. Books aplenty have been written about how to do this, and they have inspired government and non-government leaders to make lofty plans. But plans without a detailed architecture, and without that “next step” into the future, are just fantasy.

Americans are good at writing fantasy, and incomparable at making the fantastic a reality. We did it with Mercury, Gemini, Apollo – and in thousands of other ways. It is time we get down to blueprints, architecture and implementation, and to take that next step – a sustainable international return to the moon, directly charting a pathway to Mars…
