The scene is the lobby of The Frankenstein Biological Technologies Clinic. Set in a minimalistic parkland, the chrome and smoked glass clinic is the latest in high-tech, modernistic architecture.
Dressed in a white lab coat, Dr. Victoria Frankenstein strides forward to greet a visitor to her clinic, the eminent German philosopher Cornelius Agrippa. With blonde hair pulled back into a tight bun, she is slim, elegant and superbly professional. With a shaved head and trimmed beard, Dr. Agrippa is in his late sixties, with the physique of a former special forces soldier.
Frankenstein: Dr. Agrippa, what a great honor. I am such a fan of your work. Welcome to FBT! I hope you’ll join us for lunch.
When she says “lunch,” a menu appears on a flat screen embedded in the wall and a computerized voice says, “Take a moment to view today’s lunch menu. Remember at FBT we are here to help you have it your way.”
Agrippa: Thank you. I have already eaten, but perhaps after our tour a small snack will be sufficient. Not much. An apple perhaps?
F: Of course, of course. No problem at all. Before we begin our tour, may I ask the reason for your visit?
A: Your work integrating organic artificial intelligence systems with human biology has been truly impressive, but I would like to speak with you about the next phase of evolution and introduce you to some of our technologies.

FBI found Lego-constructed Capitol building in home of Pennsylvania riot suspect

When the FBI arrested a western Pennsylvania man for his alleged involvement in the Jan. 6 riot in Washington, D.C., they found a “fully constructed” Lego version of the U.S. Capitol at his home along with a guide to creating a militia, a recent court filing shows.
Robert Morss of Allegheny County “was part of a violent mob that engaged in one of the most intense and prolonged clashes between the rioters attempting to overrun (the) Capitol on Jan. 6 and the law enforcement charged with protecting it,” according to the filing, a motion from the federal government outlining why Morss should remain incarcerated until his trial.
During his arrest, the FBI found the Lego construction in his home and a “Step by Step to Create a Hometown Militia” in his car, according to the filing. It included notes to “Bring kit/body armor,” “Bring assault rifle,” and “4 magazines,” according to the court document.
Morss faces serious charges for taking shields from police officers and leading the formation of a shield wall to overrun the police, according to the FBI.
“The defendant repeatedly not only assisted that mob in this violent battle against law enforcement but also repeatedly led the attack,” the court filing states. A former Army Ranger, Morss arrived at the Capitol “armed and ready for violence,” wearing tactical equipment and goggles with a knife and scissors in his vest, according to the federal filing. An indictment after his arrest includes two counts of assaulting, resisting or impeding certain officers; three counts of robbery of U.S. personal property; and one count each of civil disorder, disorderly conduct, obstruction of an official proceeding and act of violence inside the Capitol.
There have been 50 Pennsylvania residents arrested in connection with the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, which followed a rally for then-President Donald Trump.
A seeming good thing coming out of Washington. But…what is to prevent anyone from having an independent repair facility repair their phone? Is the point of this that the warranty will not be voided when using an independent?
I don’t know about the farm issues but I would think a free market selection would cure airline issues. One option being don’t use them if possible.
President Joe Biden will direct the U.S. Federal Trade Commission to draft new rules aimed at stopping manufacturers from limiting consumers’ ability to repair products at independent shops or on their own, a person familiar with the plan said.
While the agency will ultimately decide the size and scope of the order, the presidential right-to-repair directive is expected to mention mobile phone manufacturers and Department of Defense contractors as possible areas for regulation. Tech companies including Apple Inc. and Microsoft Corp. have imposed limits on who can repair broken consumer electronics like game consoles and mobile phones, which consumer advocates say increases repair costs.
The order is also expected to benefit farmers, who face expensive repair costs from tractor manufacturers who use proprietary repair tools, software, and diagnostics to prevent third-parties from working on the equipment, according to the person, who requested anonymity to discuss the action ahead of its official announcement.
The executive order, which is expected to be released in the coming days, is broadly designed to drive “greater competition in the economy, in service of lower prices for American families and higher wages for American workers,” White House economic adviser Brian Deese said Friday.
The Biden Administration effort comes as the European Commission has also announced plans for new right-to-repair rules that would govern smart phones, tablets, and laptops. Environmental activists have said that restrictions on repairs encourage waste by making consumers more likely to throw out damaged items because of the high cost of repair.
But tech companies and manufacturers have warned that opening access to underlying software and services could endanger Americans, from improperly installed batteries on tech devices to modifications on tractors and other heavy equipment that could bypass environmental and safety systems.
The order is expected to include a number of other actions designed to boost the agriculture industry, including new rules that make it easier for cow, pig, and poultry farmers to sue large processors if they are underpaid or retaliated against. Biden’s action will also call on the Agriculture Department to update current “Product of USA” labeling rules to restrict companies from labeling food produced overseas as American-made even if it was processed domestically.
The U.S. will also invest in new and regional markets in a bid to increase competition and lessen the influence of dominant processors, the person said. The Associated Press reported the planned agricultural actions earlier.
Biden’s executive order will also include new rules for the airline industry that guarantee bag charge refunds if a passenger’s luggage does not arrive on time. In-flight internet service fees will also be refunded if passengers are unable to connect under the new rules.(Updated throughout with additional reporting.)

Julian Assange once said, “The overwhelming majority of information is classified to protect political security, not national security.”
As someone whose life’s work before his imprisonment was combing through documents of an often classified nature, he’d have been in a prime position to know. He’d have seen time and time again how a nation’s citizenry are not under the slightest threat from the secret information in the documents that had been leaked to him from around the world, but that it could damage the reputation of a politician or a government or its military.
The prosecution of Julian Assange under the Espionage Act is being touted by the US government as a matter of national security; you can’t simply allow journalists to publish classified information about the things its military forces are doing in the nations they occupy, because that could endanger American lives.
Leaving aside the fact that the Pentagon already admitted years ago that it could not find a single instance of lives being lost due to the publications for which Assange is currently being prosecuted, this case is not and has never been about national security. This case has always been about narrative control.
The US government is not afraid that unauthorized publication of government secrets will lead to Americans being killed, it’s afraid it will lead to their knowing the truth. The powerful understand that narrative control is everything, and that an entire globe-spanning empire depends on keeping the masses from having a lucid perception of what’s really going on in the world. There is an unfathomable amount of power riding on their ability to continue doing this.
Assange isn’t in Belmarsh Prison for doing something wrong, but for doing something right. For trying to give the public information which will help them form a truth-based worldview so that they can make intelligent informed decisions about where they want to collectively steer society together. Because the oligarchic empire depends on the ability to manipulate the way people think, act and vote to benefit the powerful, this was like handing someone who’s being groomed by a sexual predator a guidebook of all of the psychological tactics that are being used.
Nothing WikiLeaks published endangered the American people, it endangered a globe-spanning empire’s ability to control our understanding of what’s happening in the world. This was a most egregious offense as far as our rulers are concerned, and it could not be allowed to stand.
So an example is being made. In less polite times Assange would have been tortured and drawn and quartered in the town square while the king looked on sipping from a goblet of mead. In the days of polite liberal democracy our rulers must remain hidden, and they must publicly torture dissidents to death in the name of national security concerns.
Beneath all the spin and excuses, this is all being done to show everyone what happens to you if you reveal embarrassing truths about the most powerful people on earth. If you compromise their political security. It’s telling the world, “If you ever try to interfere in our control over the dominant narratives, this is what we will do to you.”
This is why it’s so important that they don’t win this case. We cannot allow ourselves to be cowed away from the truth in this way, or else we’re flying blind. We’re unable to obtain information which will help us steer society in a truth-based direction.
The Assange case receives so much attention not because of interest in one man’s fate, but because of interest in everyone’s fate. If humanity is ever to turn away from its self-destructive patterns and create a healthy world, it will necessarily need to do so guided by the light of truth and transparency. As long as the powerful are able to keep us confused and deluded using propaganda and government secrecy, such a world will never come into being.

My biggest fear of the vaccine is that I can’t get any information about why mRNA vaccines were not used before COVID. I can Google plenty of information about how wonderful the vaccine is, but I can’t find anything at all about why mRNA vaccines were not approved for human trials before.
I voted for Donald Trump twice, but that has nothing to do with my hesitancy to get the vaccine. I’m a Christian, and that has nothing to do with it, either. Even the fact that I had COVID and should be immune doesn’t matter to me. My reason is based on science and science alone. It’s still an experimental vaccine; it doesn’t have FDA approval; and although mRNA vaccines have been studied for years, they were not used before.

There is a lot of invective directed at people who are hesitant about getting the vaccine. I have been called a murderer for being hesitant, and I have been accused of refusing to get the vaccine because of my political leanings. I’ve also been called a religious fanatic. I don’t think asking about the science of mRNA vaccination means that I am a Jesus freak, a Trumpanzee, or a serial killer. When I am called these names, it doesn’t make me think I should agree with the name-callers and run out to get the vaccine. It makes me think that if I am being treated hatefully for asking scientific questions, there must be something wrong with the science of the vaccine.
Is mRNA unstable and likely to cause unwanted side effects? Does it create an unacceptably strong immune response? Was it some technical problem, like delivery system problems, that caused mRNA vaccines to be restricted? I’m not opposed to getting the vaccine if I have reason to believe that it is safe and will not harm my health in some unforeseen fashion.
Since I can’t get any information at this time on these points, I will wait until FDA approval of the vaccine. I’m not interested in adding to the pool of subjects that have been created by the millions who have rushed to get the vaccine. There are enough people who have been vaccinated under emergency approval protocols. They don’t need me to swell their ranks, nor do I need to risk my health with an experimental vaccine. I prefer to wait until there are enough long-term data to scientifically show that the vaccine is safe.

Those in power are just incompetent of ever managing the economy. Once they stuck their foot in the door, if they take it out and there is a wave of foreclosures, they will be to blame. So what do they do then? Put the foot back in the door and suspend all mortgages because they have an election in 2022?
Assuming incompetence over malice isn’t a bad rule of thumb when it comes to certain things. But in the case of a bunch of dirty European commie oligarchs trying to take over the world, bankrupting the middle class is their raison d’etre.
It will be extended until the most opportune moment to do the most damage to the economy. Why? Vandals are in charge in D.C.
This was always a misguided program but was an integral part of destroying the relationship between lender and lendee, renter and landlord. The government comes in all humanitarian-like to suspend payments on FHA-backed mortgages, which are all of them post-Lehman Bros., after locking people in their homes for a year while blocking access to therapeutics which would have mitigated the worst of COVID-19’s effects on the society.
We know this now. Vaccination is patriotic. Stay home on the dole wearing a mask during sex for the greater good. If not, you’re a COVIDiot.
But, let’s leave all that aside for a minute. People have been terrorized and many of them are still not thinking straight, regardless of why and how they were driven to that state.
Moreover, I’ll stay away (for once) about any conspiracy surrounding this issue. Because the argument actually works better if we don’t go there. Let’s assume the intentions of people we know to be liars had the best of intentions and run the scenario in housing out.
