What the Central Bank Cartel has Planned for You | Mises Institute

Posted by M. C. on September 1, 2023

Whatever comes from states pursuing their own monetary interests, we should not get our hopes up that the states will provide sound money to the people. If states monopolize money production, they will use it predominantly to serve their own needs.

https://mises.org/library/what-central-bank-cartel-has-planned-you

The Austrian(TA): What is the global currency plot, and who benefits most from the success of this effort?

Thorsten Polleit (TP): The global currency plot denotes a rather inconvenient truth: the existence of states (as we know them today) sets into motion a dynamic process toward creating a single world fiat money controlled by a world central bank, and most likely a central world government. The beneficiaries will be the very few—the “elite”—in charge of running the state and those few privileged by the state, such as big business, big banking, Big Pharma, and Big Tech. However, the great majority of the people will suffer a very great disadvantage. In fact, a single world fiat currency would most likely entail tyranny.

TA: The first half of the book is largely focused on economic theory and method. Why is economics so important to understanding the global fiat currency threat?

TP: I would argue that thinking about the method of economic science is actually the most important part of all of this. You know, economics is not an empirical science but must be conceptualized as a science of the logic of human action—or “praxeology,” as Ludwig von Mises called it. The logic of human action allows us to understand that there are regularities in human reality to which we must adapt our actions to succeed. It also makes us understand what will happen if— under certain conditions—actions that are contrary to the logic of human action are taken. For instance, we can know in advance (without having to resort to any kind of testing) that a state—defined as a coercive territorial monopoly—will (other things being equal) continue to expand no matter what; that it will seek control of money, replacing commodity money with its own fiat currency; and that states will form a cartel and strive to eventually establish a world government with its own world fiat currency. The logic of human action reveals these dynamics that many people are most likely unaware of.

TA: What role do central banks such as the Federal Reserve play?

TP: It may be hard to swallow, but central banks were not created for the greater good but to support the state and special interest groups. After World War II, the US became the dominant economic and military power in the world, and the Federal Reserve (the Fed), founded in 1913, became the world’s most powerful central bank, issuing the US dollar, the world’s leading reserve currency. It is fair to say that the Fed does indeed call the shots in the international financial and economic system. The Fed acts as the unofficial world central bank. Central banks play a crucial role in making a fiat currency system possible, and if they form a cartel, they can basically create a single world fiat currency.

TA: The dollar has played a central role in the global economy for decades. Does the dollar’s global hegemony help or hinder efforts to create a single global currency?

TP: The dominance of the US dollar is certainly helping to push the world toward a single fiat currency. Just imagine a major crisis that will eventually hit us. When the worldwide fiat currency regime starts to unravel, the US dollar will likely be the last man standing. In such a situation, it is also very likely that many countries will try to peg their currency to the US dollar (i.e., effectively adopt the US dollar as base money). It may not sound realistic right now, but imagine a scenario in which the United States and China join forces and endorse exchange rate fixing through the International Monetary Fund’s special drawing rights, later declaring the exchange rates irrevocably fixed. The world would be closer to a single world fiat currency than ever.

TA: What would it look like if the dollar were replaced by some sort of new international currency?

Is Vivek Ramaswamy the Only Republican Presidential Candidate Who Understands the Constitution?

Posted by M. C. on September 1, 2023

By Laurence M. Vance

I can’t pronounce his name, but I think I’ll just call him Mr. Constitution.

Vivek Ramaswamy is “unapologetically pro-life,” but won’t sign a federal abortion ban on constitutional grounds.

Good for him.

Said Ramaswamy:

My view, as someone who is running for U.S. president, responding to the question about the Supreme Court case, was that Roe v. Wade was correct to be turned on constitutional grounds. It was made-up jurisprudence … it leads also to the path to moving forward, which is, that I think the federal government should stay out of it.

I think I’m the only Republican candidate in this field who has come out and said, “I would not support a federal abortion ban of any kind.” On principled ground, because I am grounded in constitutional principles, and I think there’s no legal basis for the federal government to legislate.

I don’t believe a federal abortion ban makes any sense, and I say this as somebody who is pro-life. This is not an issue for the federal government. It is an issue for the states. I think we need to be explicit about that. If murder laws are handled at the state level, and abortion is a form of murder, the pro-life view, then it makes no sense for that to be the one federal law.

Like Ramaswamy, I am unapologetically pro-life, but have been saying these things for many years.

And so has Ron Paul:

Roe v. Wade was wrongly decided, but not because the Supreme Court presumed to legalize abortion rather than ban it. Roe was wrongly decided because abortion simply is not a constitutional issue.

Opposing The Empire Means Widening Our Circles Of Compassion

Posted by M. C. on September 1, 2023

Caitlin Johnstone

In trying to get people to care about warmongering and imperialism what we’re really trying to do is get people to widen their circle of compassion to the furthest extent possible. To extend their care for the people around them to include caring about violence and abuse against people even on the other side of the world.

Everyone cares about themselves. Everyone who isn’t a malignant narcissist cares about their friends and immediate family. Once you start caring about your community you’re generally thought of as a decent person, and when you care about your whole country you’ll be regarded as compassionate and politically aware. Rarer than all these is having compassion for everyone in the world, and feeling the same about someone being killed by one of your government’s soldiers in an impoverished country overseas as you would about someone being killed by police brutality in your own neighborhood.

Political awareness tends to stop far short of that point. It’s not hard to get people to care about tyranny that affects them personally or affects other people in their country, but getting people to think about the victims of your government’s starvation sanctions, drone bombs or proxy warfare is difficult. American progressives will happily focus on government abuses happening in their own country, but try getting them to look at the victims of their government’s abuses outside their borders and most of them get a bit squirmy.

This isn’t just because humans are tribal animals who are more inclined to care about their own group of humans than another, it’s also largely because the dominant information sources that westerners look to for information about the world are propaganda outlets which work to advance the information interests of the US empire. This means people are kept generally unaware of the cruelty and tyranny of the empire overseas, with their political attention being directed toward inconsequential narrative fluff like Trump’s mugshot.

Luckily for us, fighting the propaganda machine and working to expand humanity’s circle of compassion are not two separate tasks. Any effort to get people to pay attention to the abuses of western foreign policy helps weaken public trust in the propaganda machine which lies about those abuses, and any effort to weaken public trust in the propaganda machine helps the effort to expand people’s circle of compassion.

We’ve still got our work cut out for us, but what the hell else are we going to do? That’s the price of becoming a truly conscious species, which is the only way we’ll overcome our self-destructive tendencies enough to survive on this planet together. We’ve got to start caring about each other, and about all the other living creatures with whom we share this world.

As Einstein wrote in a condolence letter toward the end of his life,

American Resistance Movements Emerging to Deter W.H.O. “Soft Coup”

Posted by M. C. on August 31, 2023

By Wayne Lusvardi

“We know our country has been temporarily taken over by domestic and foreign enemies, power hungry war criminals are calling the shots right now, but there are many heroes among us, but you didn’t think our military vets and those who refused the shots were just going to sit back and watch did you?” – Jane Ruby, new media resistance leader- Our Country-Our Choice Movement

“Ban the jab” – Dr. Peter Breggin, MD, National American Renaissance Movement

Not one of the current conservative presidential candidates nor elected conservative representatives have demonstrated leadership even when in office needed to overcome the inaction of federal agencies and congressional committees who:

* Failed to charge those elitist oligarchs and traitorous corporations with racketeering who are funding arsonists and vandals who continue to destroy the center of major American cities, funding the mutilation of autistic adults and children in the name of gender equity, and medically pushing opioids on the public.

* Failed to pursue why Anthony Fauci (former head NIAID) and Rochelle Wilensky (former head CDC) are not even under investigation for perjury much less indictment for pushing mandated deadly experimental injections and overkill hospitalization protocols foisted on the American people.

* Failed to arrest and detain FBI (FB-Lie) officials who lied to congress about Chinese and Israeli foreign influence (Elvis Chan, Jim Baker, Joseph Di Pietro, Brian Auten) according to Col. Ivan Raiklin.
* Failed to stop the adoption of new Emergency Use Authorizations (EUA’s) (May 2023) for dangerous, untested drug substances and medical protocols that skip human subject review boards or oversight and will facilitate involuntary treatments, such as (monoclonal antibody drugs Gohibic and Vilobelimab) in the event of mechanical ventilation or oxygenation to treat COVID-19 patients in hospitals.  The DHA, HHS, FDA, and DOD have all collaborated to bring this about with no check by congress.

In response to the above egregious failures to protect the American people over the past three years, organizations are starting to form to push back against medical, criminal, and treasonous actions of federal agencies, renegade state governments, rogue intelligence agencies and unaccountable regulatory agencies, working together with unelected medical entities such as the World Health Organization (WHO) and Center for Disease Control (CDC).  Their strategy is to fight at the state and local level since congress has failed to stop treasonous crimes, insurrections, and crimes against humanity.

Your Country-Your Choice – YCYD is an emerging grass roots organization to restore the military to readiness, stop human trafficking, and protect against existential threats to our country and way of life.

The Real Malignancy in America’s Justice System

Posted by M. C. on August 31, 2023

As whistleblowers languish in prison, allies of the national security state get sweetheart plea deals.

In other words, the FBI’s assistant general counsel had committed forgery and then committed perjury when he submitted the sworn document to the FISA Court.

https://archive.ph/lEeSw#selection-563.0-569.102

Ted Galen Carpenter

There are rising complaints from Donald Trump and his supporters that the Biden administration has “weaponized” the criminal justice system to harass and intimidate political and ideological opponents. That maneuver, they contend, is creating a corrupt, “two-tier” system with one, very lenient standard for the president’s allies and another, far harsher, standard for his adversaries.

Now, Washington Post columnist Jennifer Rubin has weighed in on the debate about the existence of a two-tier justice system, but she contends that the problem is nearly the opposite of what conservatives allege. “Four-time indicted former president Donald Trump never tires of painting himself as a victim. He and his supporters claim there’s a two-tiered justice system. They have a point on that score, but not in the way they intend.” Rubin notes that “No one, for example, has seriously considered pretrial detention for Trump—even electronic monitoring or asking him to relinquish his passport. He’s not getting the same treatment as everyone else.”

Both sides make valid points. However, they also focus on secondary manifestations of a politicized justice system. Rubin, for example, is correct that wealthy, socially prominent defendants have enormous advantages and are treated differently from poor defendants facing criminal charges. However, there are more graphic and significant examples of such preferential treatment. Being a loyal member of the political establishment and committed to preserving Washington’s entrenched foreign policy appears to be the most significant factor of all.

Rubin noticeably failed to mention the Justice Department’s effort to get court approval for the brazen sweetheart plea deal for Hunter Biden. Yet that episode was a transparent attempt to derail a serious investigation into allegations that the Biden family had engaged in illegal influence peddling with respect to several foreign governments. The stench surrounding that ploy was so great that federal district Judge Maryellen Noreika took the highly unusual step of declining to ratify the deal. The mere attempt, though, illustrates the pervasive favoritism and outright corruption in America’s criminal justice system.

Worse, the Hunter Biden episode is only the latest example of politically connected establishment types receiving preferential treatment from federal prosecutors.

Dozens Killed By Fighting Among Washington’s Syrian Allies

Posted by M. C. on August 31, 2023

However, the IS has largely been eradicated in Syria by Bashar al-Assad along with his Shia, Iranian and Russian allies. Washington has since admitted it keeps its forces in Syria to steal resources and diminish Iranian influence in the Middle East. The policy of occupying eastern Syria has prolonged the war in the Middle East nation, intensifying the suffering of the Syrian people.

Over thirty people were killed in a battle between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Deir el-Zour Military Council (DEMC). Both the SDF and DEMC are supported by the US.

Fighting erupted between the two groups when the SDF captured the leader of the DEMC, Abu Khawla, during a meeting on Sunday. In total 32 people, including three civilians, were killed amid the clashes. Sources now report that fighting between the SDF and DEMC has ceased as Khawla has agreed to step down as the group’s leader.

On Wednesday, the SDF claimed Khawla’s detention is due to committing “multiple crimes,” including drug trafficking, and “coordination with external entities hostile to the revolution.” The statement suggests the SDF was unhappy with Khawla’s outreach to the Syrian government.

Woke U.S. Diplomacy: Not 100% Popular Around The Globe, Nor At Home

Posted by M. C. on August 31, 2023

Among the State Department initiatives are a $10,000 grant to a Portuguese LGBT activist group to finance a film festival featuring drag performances, incest, and pederasty. It also provided $20,000 to support a series of drag shows in Ecuador.

The State Department’s DEI emphasis extends far beyond just events hosted and charters signed. Last year, the department announced it was completely reorganizing its hiring process for foreign service officers, deemphasizing a key test on written and language skills as well as world history and U.S. history.

Authored by S.A. McCarthy via RealClear Wire,

The Biden administration is fraying relations with some allies and generating pushback from Congress by spending millions of taxpayer dollars to promote the woke ideology abroad that has stirred controversy at home since President Biden took office.

In a “national security memorandum” shortly after his swearing-in, Biden ordered all federal agencies with dealings abroad not only to protect LGBT rights in the face of discrimination and violence but to actively advance them. His State Department has said one of its goals is to “embed intersectional equity principles into diversifying public diplomacy and communications strategies” in relations with other nations.

U.S. ambassadors around the world have translated those words into action, championing LGTB rights in countries that oppose them; funding performances that feature drag queens; and holding diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) seminars.

The State Department would not provide a list of initiatives and programs connected to these goals or how much money it is spending. Recent reports estimate nearly $5 million has been spent abroad on LGBT programs alone, and U.S. senators including Republican J.D. Vance of Ohio are holding up appointments of new ambassadors over concerns about exporting “woke” ideology.

Vance criticized what he called the “injecting” of “personal politics” into the U.S. foreign service, saying: “You can call it ‘extreme left,’ ‘woke.’ To me it’s leaning toward cultural progressivism in a way that alienates half of our country and, frankly, it probably alienates about 80 percent of the countries these guys are going to represent us in front of.”

American LGBT and black advocacy groups concerned with foreign policy and diplomacy declined to respond to RealClearInvestigations’ inquiries about the State Department programs. The groups are Gays and Lesbians in Foreign Affairs Agencies (GLIFAA) and the Thursday Luncheon Group, which was founded “to increase the participation of African Americans in the formulation, articulation, and implementation of United States foreign policy.”

Among the State Department initiatives are a $10,000 grant to a Portuguese LGBT activist group to finance a film festival featuring drag performances, incest, and pederasty. It also provided $20,000 to support a series of drag shows in Ecuador.
