Good Riddance: Elaine Luria’s Exit From Power
Posted by M. C. on December 2, 2022
The congresswoman spent her brief tenure on Capitol Hill swimming in donations from weapons manufacturers and advocating for war, and now she’s out of a job
Congress: Two sides, same coin
https://issuechronicle.substack.com/p/good-riddance-elaine-lurias-exit?
Elaine Luria epitomizes the rot of the Democratic Party.
For all of its fearmongering and virtue signaling about the existential dangers of allowing control of our government to slip into Republican hands, the DNC is comprised largely of individuals who very closely resemble their pals on the right. Luria, who has represented Virginia’s second congressional district since 2018, is the poster child for this brand of Republican-lite governing. In January, she’ll be a private citizen once again.
Luria wasn’t exactly a household name during her time in Congress, but gained a lot more visibility this year with her role on the January 6th Committee. In many ways, it is this part of her resume that makes Luria such a fascinating breed of Washington insider. She was able to clear the easiest, least controversial bar imaginable – yes, Luria acknowledged that violently storming the Capitol to overturn the results of an election is bad – but is a dangerous, right-of-center war hawk by nearly every other standard.
Luria is far from alone. Many other Democrats in the beltway fit this mold, which makes calling out the largely imaginary distinction between the two parties extremely important.
On the heels of her loss to Jennifer Kiggans, the nurse practitioner who’d served in the Virginia Senate, let’s examine who Luria actually is and what this hawkish, dangerous representative stands for.

The military-industrial complex is an animal that roams nationwide but Virginia is the belly of the beast.

How Many Different Countries Should the US Now Be Fixing, Changing, and Interfering In?
Posted by M. C. on December 2, 2022
In 2016, Donald Trump ran a campaign that denounced the foreign policy views of the establishment wings of both the Democratic and Republican Parties. Calling his perspective “America First,” Trump insisted that it is not the role of the US to go around the world changing or “improving” the governments of other countries — especially given how many unmet needs Americans have at home. This view had similarities with the long foreign policy view on the left called “anti-imperialism.” Yet now, large numbers of supporters of each party seem eager to interfere in and alter the governments of a wide range of countries — from Russia and Iran to China and Cuba to Venezuela and Qatar — on top of all the countries the US is bombing, arming, funding or otherwise interfering in. Can any of this be reconciled with Trump’s “America First” vision or the left’s “anti-imperialism” principle? It is hard to see how.

Trade war averted? Macron gets Biden to ‘tweak’ his industrial subsidies – POLITICO
Posted by M. C. on December 2, 2022
Foreign countries complain they don’t get enough US taxpayer money. Washington fixes that.
French President Emmanuel Macron snatched an unexpected win from his U.S counterpart during a visit to Washington on Thursday, getting Joe Biden to suggest that European companies could benefit from a controversial American subsidies package.
Fury has been boiling over in Europe after it became clear that Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act — a $369 billion package for green industry — could drain investment out of the EU and into the U.S. Big car-making nations like France and Germany had complained that the U.S. law was potentially illegal for discriminating against foreign companies in the electric vehicle sector and encouraging consumers to “Buy American.”
Macron’s visit to the U.S. had been trailed as a doomed last-ditch effort to secure a truce over Washington’s largesse before the EU and U.S. would lurch into a subsidy race or full-blown trade war with countervailing tariffs.
Europeans have been pressing to receive the same rights as Mexicans and Canadians to benefit from the green cash bonanza, but with little prospect of success. For weeks, the French have been campaigning for European partners to agree to their own rival subsidy package, including a “Buy European” component.

How You Aren’t Like The Rest & Why That Shouldn’t Surprise You – LewRockwell
Posted by M. C. on December 2, 2022
5.) then independent of whether you win or lose in that immediate challenge, you use it to grow into someone better and bigger — no laurels rested upon, no spilt milk cried over — only quick acceptance of reality, quick growth into the best you can be, quick rising to the challenges life puts in your path.
Did you really think this was the culture that would say “No!” to the jab?
Because a lot of people write me in a state of total disbelief. That’s a problem. Disbelief enfeebles you. It makes it hard to assess reality and respond accordingly. Analysis paralysis writ large. At least 2/3 of would-be freedom fighters are stuck in a state of disbelief, which is exactly where your opponent wants you.
They call themselves freedom fighters, but watching videos online is not freedom fighting. Clicking around for the next jaw dropping example of degeneracy is not freedom fighting. It, again, is where your opponent wants you.
How The Food You Eat Paved The Way For This
You may be shocked that so many people fell for the jab.
Really? Is that really a surprise. Really? Did you really think this historically unprecedented diabetic and obese population would refuse toxic crap plunged into their arms?
Have you seen a grocery store lately?
I’m not just talking about shopping around the perimeter of the store. In the average grocery store, there are only about twenty or thirty items that I consider non-toxic enough to pass for food. I can’t do much better in some of the upscale ones either. And that stuff is all fairly low margin.
Grocery stores make their money off of slowly killing you by feeding you toxic sludge. Do you get that?
Was that really the society you were sure would refuse the jab?
They were fed a quick and easy, safe and effective way of being 100% certain that their health decisions would not be able to harm them. That’s a siren song you may listen to at times too.
How Belt Size Paved The Way For This
Or the mask? Does it shock you that people still wear the mask? Governor 5-foot-6, 385 pounds, of the fine state of Illinois, went out on stage for 2.7 years telling people that letting mom die alone, not going to work anymore, putting a toxic, IQ-lowering slave mask on your kids was all more important than losing a few pounds and taking better care of yourself?
Some people stayed home and watched more TV, checked out of life more, played more video games, did more drinking, more drugging, more porn, and all around made themselves into less than they were when the Ides of March 2020 came along.
You might fall for some of those sometimes too.
How Second Amendment Culture Paved The Way For This
Or how about this. The Second Amendment people who are divided up by
1.) bootlickers,
2.) renegades, and
3.) unknown.
Almost all of 1, a good portion of 3, and some of 2 went along with the nonsense of the past three years. If you knew much about gun people before the Ides of March 2020, you were amazed it wasn’t 99% of them, since so much effort has gone into the idea that guns are to be licensed and legal and compliant.
No!
Wrong!
Error!
Fail!
That idea is so toxic.
God gives you the right to own a gun. That’s all there is too it. And any fool who has spent the past decades talking about being “reasonable” in the same sentence as a gun helped make this era come to fruition. The Ides of March 2020 didn’t come out of nowhere.
A gun is made to take a man’s face apart and to leave his three year old child an orphan raised by a devastated mom in a broken society. There’s nothing reasonable about a gun. There’s nothing but lies, cowardice, and obedience in owning a gun and complying with gun laws.
In fact, any gun owner who doesn’t intentionally break at least a few gun laws just to keep himself sharp is being trained for future compliance.
Recognizing that, there has been a long, slow assault on the personality of gun owners.
How many gun nuts would stand up in a revolution — about half as many of those gun nuts who refused a face mask. That’s all. What’s that 5% maybe? The rest you can be pretty sure are cowards, unless they’ve had a change of heart. How about the other half of the unmasked? Well, we are in the middle of a revolution. It is here whether you like it or not. The moment that half of them realize that, they will back down, not initially realizing they were being so disobedient.

French Baguette Wins Special Status By U.N.
Posted by M. C. on December 1, 2022
I am glad the NATO US taxpayers provide the lifeline to is doing such important work. This couldn’t be pathetic attempt to schmooze and keep France compliant, could it?
https://www.dailywire.com/news/french-baguette-wins-special-status-by-u-n
A French bakery product has been given a special status by the United Nations.
The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) granted a heritage recognition to the French baguette by placing it on its list of Intangible Cultural Heritage. The “Artisanal know-how and culture of baguette bread” was the official addition to the list.
UNESCO’s director general, Audrey Azoulay, told CNN the bread product’s newly recognized status honors “tradition,” “craftsmanship” and makes sure that the “artisanal way of baking” is “passed on to the next generation.”
“It’s kind of a way of life” Azoulay said. “There is always a boulangerie nearby, you can go and buy fresh affordable bread and you meet people, meet with bakers, it’s a very important element of social cohesion.”
“This will make people realize that this regular baguette that they know very well, is something precious,” she said. “It comes from history and it has character and it’s important to made the public aware of this, to be proud of it.”
The baguette’s nomination, which was drafted by France, pointed out that baguettes “generate modes of consumption and social practices that differentiate them from other types of bread, such as daily visits to bakeries to purchase the loaves and specific display racks to match their long shape.”

The Guardian Could Help Assange By Retracting All The Lies It Published About Him
Posted by M. C. on December 1, 2022
The only reason Assange’s case doesn’t have more support currently is because so much of the public has been deceived into believing that what’s happening is not the unconscionable persecution of a journalist for telling the truth, but rather the righteous prosecution of a sinister Russian agent who has broken laws and endangered lives.

The Guardian has joined The New York Times, Le Monde, Der Spiegel and El País in signing a letter from the five papers which collaborated with WikiLeaks twelve years ago in the publication of the Chelsea Manning leaks to call for the Biden administration to drop all charges against Julian Assange. This sudden jolt of mainstream support comes as news breaks that Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has been personally pushing the US government to bring the Assange case to a close.
The Guardian’s participation in this letter is particularly noteworthy, given the leading role that publication has played in manufacturing public support for his persecution in the first place. If The Guardian really wants to help end the persecution of the heroic WikiLeaks founder, the best way to do that would be to retract those many smears, spin jobs and outright lies, and to formally apologize for publishing them.
This is after all the same Guardian which published the transparently ridiculous and completely invalidated 2018 report that Trump lackey Paul Manafort had met secretly with Assange at the Ecuadorian embassy, not once but multiple times. Not one shred of evidence has ever been produced to substantiate this claim despite the embassy being one of the most heavily surveilled buildings on the planet at the time, and the Robert Mueller investigation, whose expansive scope would obviously have included such meetings, reported absolutely nothing to corroborate it. It was a bogus story which all accused parties have forcefully denied and no serious person believes is true, yet to this day it still sits on The Guardian’s website without retraction of any kind.
If @guardian truly wants the charges dropped against Julian Assange, a good way to facilitate that would be to retract and apologize for all the many smears and outright lies they’ve published about him to help manufacture consent for those charges. theguardian.com‘Publishing is not a crime’: media groups urge US to drop Julian Assange chargesFirst outlets to publish WikiLeaks material, including the Guardian, come together to oppose prosecution10:28 AM ∙ Nov 29, 20221,981Likes640Retweets
This is the same Guardian which ran an article in 2018 titled “The only barrier to Julian Assange leaving Ecuador’s embassy is pride”, arguing that Assange looked ridiculous for continuing his political asylum in the embassy because “The WikiLeaks founder is unlikely to face prosecution in the US.” The article was authored by the odious James Ball, whose article begins: “According to Debrett’s, the arbiters of etiquette since 1769: ‘Visitors, like fish, stink in three days.’ Given this, it’s difficult to imagine what Ecuador’s London embassy smells like, more than five-and-a-half years after Julian Assange moved himself into the confines of the small flat in Knightsbridge, just across the road from Harrods.”

Finally! MSM Outlets Call For Charges Against Assange To Be Dropped
Posted by M. C. on December 1, 2022
Five major mainstream media outlets, including the New York Times, have issued a letter calling the US Administration to drop the charges against Wikileaks founder Julian Assange. Assange has been a political prisoner in the UK since 2019. Also today: Twitter announced an end to its Covid “misinformation” policy…and the White House freaks out. Also: More demands from global welfare queens in Ukraine.

Guess what Fauci said in his deposition
Posted by M. C. on December 1, 2022
“We spent seven hours with Dr. Fauci—this is a man who single-handedly wrecked the U.S. economy based upon ‘the science, follow the science’—and over the course of seven hours, we discovered that he can’t recall practically anything dealing with his COVID response,” Landry said.
Why isn’t Fauci in the gray bar hotel?
https://mailchi.mp/tomwoods/faucideposition?e=fa1aba8cd8
Louisiana attorney general Jeff Landry recently had a chance to question Anthony Fauci in a suit involving censorship of dissident scientists.
And what do you know: Fauci just can’t seem to remember anything.
“We spent seven hours with Dr. Fauci—this is a man who single-handedly wrecked the U.S. economy based upon ‘the science, follow the science’—and over the course of seven hours, we discovered that he can’t recall practically anything dealing with his COVID response,” Landry said.
“It was extremely troubling to realize that this is a man who advises presidents of the United States and yet couldn’t recall information he put out, information he discussed, press conferences he held dealing with the COVID-19 response,” he added.
The Epoch Times reports, “Landry declined to provide more details about the deposition until it is made public, which will happen at a future date. But he said officials would be able to take some of what they learned to advance their case.”
Jenin Younes, a lawyer and Tom Woods Show guest who is also representing the plaintiffs, noted that Fauci claimed not to be especially worried about the Great Barrington Declaration, which called for “focused protection” of the vulnerable instead of lockdowns, even though Francis Collins of the National Institutes of Health wrote to Fauci urging a “devastating public takedown of its premises,” and even though Fauci attacked it on several occasions.
Former White House press secretary Jen Psaki is scheduled to be deposed on December 8.
One of the authors of the Great Barrington Declaration (and also a party to the lawsuit), Stanford’s Jay Bhattacharya, recently joined me on the Tom Woods Show to discuss the premise behind the case as well as a Soho Forum debate on lockdowns that Jay recently won. (Oxford-style debates have objective winners, because the audience is polled before and after the debate.)
Jay’s eyes have been opened since 2020 about how the health establishment operates. “I was naive,” he confessed to me in our interview.
Enjoy:
Also, a quick reminder that I’m holding an event in Orlando — my Practical Liberty Summit — in January for all those of you who already have plenty of libertarian theory in your brains, but who’d now like to take action. Everything from how to win in a blue state, how to undo propaganda in people’s minds, how to finance real estate without the bank, how to get physically fit without falling into destructive myths, plus plenty of business and marketing advice, and a lot more.
All practical, no theory.
Plus, entertainment from the great Doc Dixon, the magician who sawed me in half at my 2000th episode event and who fooled Penn & Teller on their “Fool Us” television program.
The event is free for my School of Life members, and open for a fee to non-members:
