Bush I & II, Clinton, Obama, Chris Matthews taxes – now that would make interesting reading.
Force all of congress to release their returns for 10 or 20 years (never happen). We wouldn’t have a congress if Matthews logic is valid. Why limit this requirement to congresspeople?
Why don’t we make everyone’s taxes available to all, all the time? Because it is no one’s business.
Nobody wants to pay taxes in spite of what Biden says. That is why the citizenry employs tax preparers and tax lawyers.
Presumably Trump taxe situation was arrived at legally. Can’t complain about that. There are tens of thousands pages of tax law to make sure that happens to all the right humans and congresspeople. And to make sure half the country pays no taxes and votes a certain way.
There is a reason the latest addition to the tax laws is usually labeled – The tax preparer and tax lawyer full employment act.
On Tuesday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “Hardball,” host Chris Matthews stated that if President Trump’s tax returns had been publicly known, “He wouldn’t have won” the 2016 election.
Matthews said, “He wouldn’t have won. That’s the catch-22. If the American people found out the guy’s prancing around with the airplanes and skyscrapers, and he owns everything in the world, golf courses all over the world, and he doesn’t pay any taxes, they’d say, that’s not fair. You can’t be our leader. I think even the people in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan would say, at the margin, he’s not my guy. My people pay taxes.”
