Is Social Media Destroying Humanity on Purpose?

You may not be on social media yourself, but chances are your friends and family are. Some of us are on there for work purposes and some so we can keep in touch with loved ones who live far away. There are valid reasons we have accounts on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. But things are getting ugly out there in Internetland and it begs the question of whether social media is destroying humanity.

And even worse, is social media destroying humanity on purpose, because it was engineered to do so?

You’d have to live under a rock big enough to block all internet communications to not have heard about the privacy scandals that have plagued Facebook recently. From Cambridge Analytica mining user’s data to Facebook’s massive profits from your data, it’s been all over the news. Zuckerberg even had to testify to Congress about it for 10 hours recently, in the end apologizing for his part in the scandal.

But your lack of privacy may be just a drop in the bucket.

Heritage Foundation Defends Facebook’s ‘Right’ to Censor, Will Oppose Regulation

Posted by M. C. on May 3, 2018

The Heritage Foundation is likely correct. Most of the sheeple using Facebook don’t know what is happening nor do they care.

by ALLUM BOKHARI

The Heritage Foundation will defend Facebook’s legal right as a “private company” to censor content and will oppose attempts to regulate the tech giant, according to the think tank’s senior research fellow for technology, Klon Kitchen.

In an interview with Breitbart News, Kitchen argued that as a private company, Facebook has the right to censor content at will, although he strongly cautioned the social network against a censorious approach…

Facebook Has Begun To Rank News Organizations By Trust, Zuckerberg Says

Posted by M. C. on May 2, 2018

If you want to know the truth and have trouble finding God, just find Zuck.

https://www.buzzfeed.com/bensmith/facebook-has-begun-to-rank-news-organizations-by-trust?utm_term=.ex6reXdpQq#.xymM6xDJYL

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said Tuesday that the company has already begun to implement a system that ranks news organizations based on trustworthiness, and promotes or suppresses its content based on that metric.

Zuckerberg said the company has gathered data on how consumers perceive news brands by asking them to identify whether they have heard of various publications and if they trust them.

“We put [that data] into the system, and it is acting as a boost or a suppression, and we’re going to dial up the intensity of that over time,” he said. “We feel like we have a responsibility to further [break] down polarization and find common ground.”…

WhatsApp co-founder Jan Koum is leaving Facebook after clashing over data privacy

Posted by M. C. on May 1, 2018

I don’t know anything about Jan Koum but obviously he isn’t dumb. He couldn’t see what Facebook is all about? He didn’t see the CIA/In-Q-Tel connection? Did Zuck con him with a pack of fake promises?

Koum’s concern with privacy appears genuine, that is the non sequitur. The real story would be interesting.

Nick Statt

WhatsApp co-founder and CEO Jan Koum is leaving the company amid arguments with parent company Facebook over data privacy and the messaging app’s business model, according to a report from The Washington Post. Koum, together with his fellow co-founder Brian Acton, sold WhatsApp to Facebook in 2014 for an eye-popping sum of $19 billion, $3 billion of which consisted of Facebook stock granted to both Koum and Acton, who left the company back in September. Koum confirmed his departure in a personal Facebook posttoday… Read the rest of this entry »

Google and Facebook are two of the largest and clearest monopolies in the world, and between them, the harvesting of your personal information goes far beyond what most people realize was even possible.

I have recently removed Google Search from this website and replaced with a search engine without the privacy concerns, but has similar capabilities.   The search bar at the top of the website is the most used and essential feature for you to research the many thousands of pages I’ve published over the last 20 years….

Facebook Data Scandal Delays Home Speaker Debut at Annual Developer Conference

Posted by M. C. on March 30, 2018

Question: Are the Facebook sheeple outraged?

http://www.breitbart.com/tech/2018/03/29/facebook-data-scandal-delays-home-speaker-debut/

Public outrage has dampened any potential excitement surrounding Facebook’s latest way of mining your household for information.

The house that Zuckerberg built is shaking on its foundations in the wake of its recent scandal. After hemorrhaging more than $70 billion in 10 days, the social media giant is watching users exit en masse, alongside brands like Playboy and fellow entrepreneur Elon Musk’s SpaceX and Tesla deleting their pages. Even WhatsApp founder Brian Acton has declared that “it’s time.”…
