Yes. Ford, a four letter word beginning with F. FedEx isn’t any better.

The nightmare continued: “Dealer claimed to have updated the software. My car was delivered to my home and nothing was fixed. In fact, my software reverted to 4.2.1. Now my service manager has no idea what to do. I can’t change drive modes, open trunk or frunk, and pre-collision warning turns on all the time. I can still drive but with limited capability. Feels like a car with a sprained ankle.”

The more things change, the more they stay the same. Gone are the days of Windows 95; heading into the year 2024, there’s an entirely new “blue screen of death” people apparently need to be watching out for – in their cars.
This week a photo went viral on social media purporting to show a Ford vehicle displaying a “your vehicle cannot be driven” message after a failed software update. “Please call customer support,” the screen urges.
Owning a car is about to get *really* weird.

A post on one car enthusiast forum questioned the authenticity of the screenshot, stating: “This is going around on Twitter, but I couldn’t find any mentions of it here.
Is this even real? The phone number, when Googled doesn’t turn up anything official.”
One person responded: “That’s the message you will see on the rare occasion that an OTA fails. It’s a special customer service phone number for dealing with failed OTAs. It’s from a user on Reddit, his car has since been fixed and is back to normal FYI.”
“If an OTA update fails in such a way that this screen would be necessary, they should automatically revert to the last working state and notify the user,” another user posted in response.

While some argued that the price hikes came days before the Act was signed by President Biden, and therefore weren’t definitive proof that Ford was just price gouging the government’s latest handouts, we think that argument has now officially been put to rest, with Ford now also increasing Mustang Mach-E EV prices between $3,000 and $8,100, depending on Model.
If you think this is new news, you haven’t been paying attention for the last 20 years.

It was just days ago we wrote about how Ford was hiking the price of its F-150 EV by almost exactly the same amount offered as an EV subsidy in the Biden administration’s new “Inflation Reduction Act”.
The company is “also increasing shipping costs by $200 on all models,” according to Automotive News’ Michael Martinez.
The company says the new price reflects “significant material cost increases, continued strain on key supply chains, and rapidly evolving market conditions,” according to The Verge. They provided a breakdown of the increases by model type:

Temple Grandin – the famous animal behaviorist – developed a similar technique, intended to soothe cattle making the transition from four hoofs on the ground to sides of beef hanging in the meat locker

… Instead of presenting his papers, old timey-style – and being interrogated (and felt up) by a blue-uniformed government goon until he’s satisfactorily passed his Submission Training session – the lucky Lincoln owner will be greeted curbside by a helpful CLEAR “team member” – we’re all just one big team, you know – who will then “escort” him to a “dedicated” CLEAR lane, where the “customer” (yes, they actually use that term) will step up to a special kiosk for speedier processing via iris scan and fingerprint.
Do this just the once and your unique biological signature will be recorded forever – allegedly in order to hasten your transit through the Heimat. In actuality, to make it easier for the organs of the Heimat to keep tabs on you forever – and not just at the airport. Once your eyes have been scanned, you can be scanned anywhere there is a scanner. Which is eventually going to be everywhere – and already well on the way.
The sell is that you’ll “bypass the usual long lines” and “walk through security in minutes every time.” Temple Grandin – the famous animal behaviorist – developed a similar technique, intended to soothe cattle making the transition from four hoofs on the ground to sides of beef hanging in the meat locker….

Mazda dumps Ford for failing Fiat? Their CFO must be Bernanke.
Obama takes over GM and starts running the show. Bigwigs gets fired and Obama tells GM they have to sell green cars. Government Motors subsequently shuts down the Volt production line for 5 weeks because no one wants to buy an overpriced electric falsely advertised hybrid that has no range. If Big Bother sold off his GM stock now the tax payers would lose 10$ of billions.
Next the O-Man facilitates Chrysler’s sale to Fiat, another government supported white elephant. Fiat sales are down despite cutting labor costs. The Italian company can’t turn cost savings into sales. Now the Italian tax payers, the few that actually pay their taxes, have purchased their own white elephant, Chrysler. Why haven’t we seen or heard much about what Fiat intends to do with their new bambino? Nothing appears to be happening. Fiat can’t figure out their own failing operation, that is why.
This does not look good for Chrysler.
I have to wonder what convinced Mazda to hook up to this long black train. I hope Mazda can unravel this giant plate of spaghetti.
Thank you for your insight Mr. Obama.
