‘Tin Soldiers and Nixon Coming…’

Posted by M. C. on April 26, 2024

To date, more than 35,000 Palestinian civilians in Gaza have been killed including an estimated 15,000 children. Hamas, by contrast, is reportedly not significantly degraded and its massive tunnel system remains intact. Former Israeli Defense Forces General Yitzhak Brick told Israeli newspaper Maariv that Israel has already lost the war against Hamas and must admit it.

So much for our hundred$ of billion$ given to Israel.

Student action on university campuses against US involvement in Israel’s slaughter of Gaza has exploded across the country. Suddenly there is the distinct feel in the air of the anti-Vietnam war protests once they finally caught on in 1968 and soon thereafter changed the course of US history.

Both protest movements were fully demonized by the same forces of the mainstream Left/Right regime and what libertarian writer Jacob Hornberger rightly calls the “National Security State.” I would add the mainstream media from Fox to MSNBC. But these days there is relatively more freedom of expression available to Americans via some of the social media outlets. The US government war on one of these outlets – TikTok – may also be fueling protests, as this outlet is particularly popular among younger Americans and has become the platform for them to hear more objective and independent views on what is happening in Gaza. It should not be considered a coincidence that not long after Anti-Defamation League’s Jonathan Greenblat was caught on tape panicking over the shift in opinion away from fealty to Israel among the younger generation, a big PR operation about “Chinese infiltration” of the platform emerged as did calls to ban the popular application.

“We have a major, major, major generational (TikTok) problem,” Greenblat said. This past week both Houses of Congress voted to ban TikTok. Problem solved? Not exactly.

So back to the protests.

Tens of thousands of students from New York’s Columbia University to the University of Southern California have risen up to demand an end to US support for Israel’s 200 day – and counting – total demolition of Gaza in retribution for the October 7th Hamas bloody incursion into Israeli territory.

The wild disproportionality of the Israeli response has animated and ignited the sense of repulsion and demand for justice among the nation’s youth. Most recently the grisly details of Israel’s apparent mass slaughter of hundreds of patients at the Nasser Hospital in Gaza – many discovered with their hands and feet bound – may have been the last straw that led to mass student action across the country.

In Gaza The Sniper Drones Are Crying Like Babies

Posted by M. C. on April 23, 2024

This baby-crying-sniper-drone story is something else, though. It’s like something out of a weird post-apocalyptic horror movie or something.

Caitlin Johnstone

They’re hunting civilians with armed quadcopters in Gaza.

The drones play recordings of crying babies and women screaming in distress in order to lure people out into the open, and then shoot them.

This is reportedly happening at the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, where people live in total darkness at night and have no connection to the outside world.

Other times the drones play the sounds of explosions and gunshots and rolling tanks, and sometimes songs in Hebrew or Arabic, all to terrorize these refugees hiding in the darkness afraid for their lives.

This is the sort of report that a critical thinker would normally dismiss as absurd atrocity propaganda if it was being made about any other military power, but this is the IDF we’re talking about, and this specific allegation is pretty well-supported now.

When the destruction of Gaza first began I used to read the jarring claims about the horrific things the IDF were doing and often think, “No, no way. That can’t be the whole story. It’s too cartoonishly evil. There must be some information missing.” Then a few days or weeks later confirmation would come out, showing it’s even worse than I thought before.

I don’t experience that kind of dubiousness when reading such stories anymore. There are only so many atrocities you can see documented, so many videos of IDF troops recording themselves gleefully behaving like monsters, so many hospitals you can see attacked, so many journalists you can see assassinated, before you read a new report about new unfathomable acts of depravity and find yourself saying “Yeah, that sounds about right.”

Israel More Isolated Than Ever After Trump’s Recent Statements

Posted by M. C. on April 2, 2024

Lucas Leiroz

Former American President Donald Trump, despite maintaining a reasonably lucid stance regarding the Ukrainian conflict, is a radical Zionist and has shown on several occasions that he is willing to support Tel Aviv in its genocidal war against Gaza’s Palestinians. However, the strategic errors committed by the Zionist regime are so serious that they are forcing even Trump to object to Israel’s practices.

Recently, during an interview with an Israeli newspaper, Trump warned that Tel Aviv is “losing international support” due to its war in the Gaza Strip. He advised the Israelis to “end” the military campaign as quickly as possible, thus preventing Israel from becoming even more isolated on the international arena. More than that, the former American president condemned the Israeli anti-humanitarian attacks, describing the destruction of residential facilities in Gaza as a “big mistake”, severely criticizing the actions of the Zionist regime.

In a way, Trump’s speech is hypocritical, as he criticizes the explicit aspect of Israeli actions. He does not seem to be really concerned with the crimes committed by Israel, but with the fact that such crimes are damaging the international image of the Zionist regime. However, this type of connivance with Israel’s crimes was already expected from a Zionist leader like Trump, which is why the mere fact of criticizing Zionist explicitness is actually surprising.

“It’s a very bad picture for the world. The world is seeing this… every night, I would watch buildings pour down on people (…) Go and do what you have to do. But you don’t do that (…) And I think that’s one of the reasons that there has been a lot of kickback. If people didn’t see that, every single night I’d watch and every single one of those… And I think Israel wanted to show that it’s tough, but sometimes you shouldn’t be doing that,” he told journalists.

As is well known, Trump and Netanyahu were close allies during the Republican government in the U.S. Some analysts considered Trump the “most pro-Israel president in history.” The severe sanctions on Iran, the opening of the American embassy in Jerusalem and the mediation of the Abraham Accords are some examples of how Washington and Tel Aviv were close allies during the Trump era.

However, relations between Trump and Netanyahu entered into crisis after the Israeli leader recognized Joe Biden’s victory and congratulated the then new American president in 2020.

The Plan Is To Turn Palestine Into a Historical Footnote So It’s Too Late To Save It

Posted by M. C. on April 1, 2024

That’s why it’s so important to oppose this thing now: because once Palestine is erased, it’s highly unlikely that it can ever be restored. We see what an uphill battle it is to obtain any rights at all for indigenous populations in other nations founded on genocidal settler-colonialism, and they haven’t even been driven out of their national borders into foreign countries.

By Caitlin Johnstone
CaitlinJohnstone.com

The Zionist plan for the Palestinians is to kill them and drive them off their land by whatever cruelty is necessary, with the understanding that one day people will look back on it in the same way they look back on the genocides of other indigenous populations, saying “Yeah it was bad, but that was in the past so there’s nothing we can do about it.”

The Zionists take a long view of history, understanding that all the outrage and backlash they’re facing over Gaza right now will one day be irrelevant if they can carry out their plan for the territory today. They know that future generations of Israeli settlers will be able to say “Sure there was an ethnic cleansing in Gaza and a bunch of mass atrocities were committed, but that all happened before I was born; I had nothing to do with it. What do you want me to do, give up the home I’ve lived in all my life? That’s nuts.”

Congressional Omnibus is Like a Bad Hollywood Movie Sequel

Posted by M. C. on March 26, 2024

by Ron Paul

Unfortunately, this latest sequel is as bad as the previous ones, as the American people are left with a massive $1.2 trillion dollar spending package to add to our already $34 trillion in debt. Military spending will, of course, be increased yet again, as the military-industrial complex demands more of our wealth to feed its ever-increasing appetite.

https://ronpaulinstitute.org/congressional-omnibus-is-like-a-bad-hollywood-movie-sequel

This weekend’s late-night spending vote in Congress seems like another in an endless series of sequels to a bad suspense movie. Just at the brink of “disaster,” just before the stroke of midnight, Congress pulls off a miracle and passes an omnibus bill to save us from a “government shutdown!”

The heroes have saved the day!

And if this military spending increase is not enough, Congressional leadership is promising another huge supplemental bill to further fuel proxy wars in Ukraine and Gaza – with some money to provoke China as well.

Republicans like to talk a good game about reining in spending – especially during election season – but as we learned with this “compromise” and all previous “compromises, it’s all talk. At the end of all the dramatic warnings about shutting the government down, we are left with a Washington-style compromise, meaning the leadership of both parties gets to throw anything and everything they want into the massive bill. Because it is only presented to the rank and file at the last moment before “disaster,” none of the Members get a chance to even read it, much less shape it through amendments and debate.

The Republican House leadership promised the Members 72 hours to read any new bill before a vote, but they broke their promise without hesitation. Members would not have the chance to read the more than 1,000 page bill, which was worked out in secret behind closed doors

A Risky Read: The Real Reason for Ukraine, Gaza, Yemen, and Our Misery

Posted by M. C. on March 22, 2024

Instead of stepping outside the bubble, rather than snatching a drop of courage and fortitude from our lazy and easily corruptible existences, we always do the easy thing. We follow. Human rats traverse the ship’s mooring lines, seething to get to that hidden cargo that will grow our bellies bigger.

A Risky Read: The Real Reason for Ukraine, Gaza, Yemen, and Our Misery

Russia has no future. The British Isles do. Long before the last serving of fish and chips has passed into gastronomy history, Blinis and Pelmeni will have been stricken from all the languages of Earth. At least, this is what Owen Matthews, the author of the book Stalin’s Children, believes. Sadly, he is not alone in his ludicrous and addictive hate of all things Russia.

Spectator’s View

Somebody, please stop me! Morning research has inextricably led me to another media analysis—this time on the weekly British newspaper The Spectator. The title of Matthews’s story will help you understand how a geopolitical analyst can’t seem to get off of Western news. “Putin may seem confident – but Russia’s future is bleak,” is problematic because it is entirely based on a dark fantasy. Matthews, after whining about Mr. Putin running things in Russia some more, launches into a spew about the Ukraine military operation. In his vent, the British son of Ukrainian S.S.R. parents belches a familiar Western strategy burp – the idea that Ukraine ever had any chance of winning a conflict against Russia.

It’s counterproductive to hover over this “made” British journalist for long. As many in the service of the liberal elites freaked over the new multipolar order, Matthews has made the rounds for his lords and masters. During the Bosnian war, he was a mouthpiece from Budapest, Sarajevo, and Belgrade. He also ran interference in the Second Chechen War, as well as in Syria, Iraq, and Afghanistan – the usual places propagandist altar boys get sent. The most significant difference between Matthews and a cadre of corporate-owned contemporaries is he’s one hell of a lot better at slicing and dicing the Ukraine situation. On Russia? Well, let’s just say he has to play his role according to direction most of the time.

Like all the other stories we’ve read about Putin, the Euromaidan, Ukraine, Russia, and the state of West-East affairs, all the familiar bell tones are there. Ideas like new Russian imperialism, Russia’s weak army, Putin’s destroyed economy, and even a Russian brain drain exodus are there to rivet the willing idiots tuned in. I assume the Russian mafioso, former Yukos oil boss Mikhail Khodorkovsky, and other Western-backed privateers are the “best and brightest” to whom the Statesman story refers. The magazine’s paywall prevented me from diving deeper into this latest Russophobic rant. The exciting thing here is the question that arises from observing so many talented writers being sucked into the dark wormhole of elitist illusion. Aha! You say? We are onto something much more profound than painting paid propagandists.

Long Live the King

You see, almost all of these Putin haters and China worriers are convinced of their correctness by a system that rewards outcomes. Or the outcomes those who control the system desire. In America and other Western alliance countries, every level of society is “led” toward one desirable outcome – profit. It is not simply ordinary profit but an economic system that makes tribute to a French, Spanish, or English king look like alms for the poor. It’s all very refined, you see. It’s cloaked in ideas like “democracy” and injected into our veins like a serum called “freedom.” Owen Matthews is not the only Brit who believes in his ideas. He’s just got the job of dope dealer for the susceptible masses. But he probably does not know it. Some CIA-groomed tech Titans or Pulitzer winners do understand from whence their fame and fortune is derived. These are clutching the half-filled glass of single malt before, during, and after lunch. At a point, even people like the notorious Victoria Nuland end up looking in the mirror and seeing a son or daughter of Satan himself. Stop and think.

Now, apply your vision of a face wrenched by hate, lies, power struggles, ruined relationships, and way too many chocolates and other sweets. The faces you may visualize are the “little” Victoria Nuland in our society. Or, perhaps, you’re conjuring mental pictures of your next-door neighbor. You know, the one with the big Putin hate, who could not find Ukraine on a map with countries named. I taught geography for a bit. That was until I realized that one child in 100 cared about Ma and Pa, a ballgame, or a trip to Walmart. Sadly, even Ma and Pa America think the United States is twice as big as Africa. You have the beginnings of a window here, right here in this paragraph. Yes, they want us stupid as hell.

Don’t Spare the Billions

Posted by M. C. on February 26, 2024

Joe Biden has created a tsunami of inflation with his giveaways to black voters, his open-ended support of Israel’s far right government and now billions more spending.  It’s been a financial disaster.  Donald Trump understands. After all, it was he who ended the stupid, pointless war in Afghanistan.

By Eric S. Margolis

When I was a boy growing up in New York City I was taught – and re-taught – to always save half of my weekly allowance and never spend more than I had in savings.

Too bad Joe Biden was not taught this useful Presbyterian virtue.  Recently, Biden’s government has sought $106 billion in the latest aid for arms for Israel and Ukraine, the biggest expenditure since the Vietnam War.  This while the bills for the incredibly foolish war in Afghanistan keep coming in, to date $2 trillion.

Now, the US in high-fever pre-election time, is lavishing billions upon Israel.  Most of the world is trying to get Israel out of its lethal rampage in Gaza, but the US and its failing colonial partner, Great Britain, continue to wave the banner of empire. Britain, as hardly anyone has noticed, has been bombing Yemen for the past 14 years, supplying warplanes, bombs and mercenary pilots and technicians.

President Biden is growing desperate as the election draws closer.  Polls show him way behind Donald Trump.  Both Trump and Biden are too old for the job of president.  In my old-fashioned view, only military veterans should be allowed to run for high office.

Meanwhile, Biden is splashing around tens of millions on schemes for blacks, who have become his electoral mainstay.  Jewish voters who ardently back Israel are said to provide a large proportion of the Democratic party’s finances. They are advocating deeper US involvement in the Gaza Conflict and even more money for Israel, already the largest recipient of US cash.

Pandering to Israel is standard pre-election behavior. In the old days elections were always marked by huge cash grants and the latest US weapons lavished on Israel.  And money on the ‘three I’s,’ Israel, Italy and Ireland.

Five Things Liberals Say To Avoid Taking A Real Position On Gaza

Posted by M. C. on February 2, 2024

Caitlin Johnstone

The “two-state solution” is functionally just a psychological box that liberals mentally tick off so they can pretend they have a real position on Israel-Palestine. Israeli leaders publicly spit on the notion of a Palestinian state with its own military and national sovereignty, and there is no political wherewithal to make such a thing happen. It’s nothing more than a conceptual construct which lets liberals feel nice about their personal politics without actually taking a stand against the western-backed tyrannical power structure that is the state of Israel.

And the conservative position is much simpler. Print money and keep on bombing.

More importantly-Licking Netanyahu’s boots keeps that AIPAC money rolling in.

https://substack.com/inbox/post/141298532

Here are five noises western liberals often make to avoid having to take a real position on Gaza:

1. “It’s heartbreaking!”

2. “It’s complicated!”

3. “BUT TRUMP!”

4. “I really hope there can be peace there someday!”

5. “I support a two-state solution!”

Let’s talk about these a bit.

“It’s heartbreaking!”

Liberals love talking about how “sad” and “heartbreaking” what’s happening in Gaza is like it’s some kind of natural disaster, some tragically tragic tragedy that their government has been passively witnessing instead of actively facilitating. It lets them express their progressive humanitarian feelings without actually taking a meaningful political position against what’s being done in their name with their tax dollars and with their tacit consent.

In reality the genocide in Gaza is not sad or heartbreaking or tragic; those are words you use for diseases and accidents. When someone is murdered with malicious intent, we don’t heave a heavy sigh and shed a tear and move on — we prosecute their murderer. It isn’t raining bombs in Gaza because that’s just the unfortunate weather there today, those bombs are being dropped by Israel with genocidal intent with the full backing of the United States and its allies. This is a crime which requires outrage and punishment, not empty crocodile tears.

“It’s complicated!”
