Posted by M. C. on April 13, 2024

Here are the 19 Republicans who stood up for freedom:

Reps. Greene, Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.), Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.), Dan Bishop (R-N.C), Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.), Tim Burchett (R-Tenn.), Michael Cloud (R-Texas), Bob Good (R-Va.), Nancy Mace (R-S.C.), Ralph Norman (R-S.C.), Chip Roy (R-Texas.), Eli Crane (R-Ariz.), Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.), Clay Higgins (R-La.), Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.), Cory Mills (R-Fla.), Scott Perry (R-Pa.), Matt Rosendale (R-Md.), and Greg Steube (R-Fla.).

No Mike Kelly-(NOT) shocking. Mikey’s talent lies in simultaneously carrying water while grabbing his ankles for the military indu$trial complex.

Democrats Respond to Trump’s Plea to Kill Police State FISA Act

Paul Craig Roberts

The House Democrats, not the Republicans, Respond to Trump’s Plea to Kill the Unconstitutional FISA Act, while the Republicans Vote for the Police State Measure

Paul Craig Roberts

The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) was passed as a result of the public hysteria that was orchestrated in response to a non-existent “Muslim terrorist threat” that was spun off of 9/11, the only claimed Muslim terrorist act in the US, an event now understood as a neoconservative operation to create “the New Pearl Harbor” necessary for their wars in the Middle East against Israel’s enemies.

The FISA Act was totally unconstitutional as it vitiated the US Constitution’s prohibitions against arrest and spying without warrants. The FISA Act is a police state measure and nothing else. That Americans, Congress, and the federal courts accepted it proves the absence of any commitment to freedom.

In this pre-election fundraising season we hear from Republicans how much they do for freedom and all that they are going to do to preserve it. But what do they really do?

Despite President Trump’s plea to the House Republicans, a plea from the Republican Presidential Nominee and in the opinion of many Republicans the actual President of the US as his reelection was stolen with Republican Party complicity by the Democrats, the Republican Speaker of the House and all but 19 Republicans tried to keep the unconstitutional FISA Act, which expires April 19, in force by re-authorizing it.

The Democrats, not wanting Trump, the next President, to have the power to do to them what they did to him, voted uniformly with 19 Republicans to kill the police state act Americans have lived under for many years by a vote of 226 against and 193 for.

House Kills Rep. Gaetz’s Amendment to Ban Transfer of Cluster Bombs

Posted by M. C. on September 28, 2023

The amendment received support from 85 Republicans and 75 Democrats

My “representative” warparty water carrier Mike Kelly voted FOR child killing cluster bombs. He would probably vote for landmines.

antiwar.com

The House on Wednesday night voted down an amendment to the Pentagon appropriations bill introduced by Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) that would have banned the transfer of civilian-killing cluster bombs to other countries.

The amendment failed in a vote of 160-269, with only 85 Republicans and 75 Democrats supporting the measure.

Cluster bombs spread small submunitions, known as bomblets, over a large area. They are so hazardous to civilians because many of the submunitions do not explode on impact and can be found years or decades later, often by children. Due to their indiscriminate nature, cluster bombs are banned by over 100 countries.

The vote on Gaetz’s amendment came after the Biden administration announced a weapons package for Ukraine that included the second tranche of cluster bombs in the form of 155mm artillery shells. The administration first shipped cluster bombs to Ukraine in July. Secretary of State Antony Blinken has claimed that without the widely-banned munitions, Ukraine would be “defenseless.”

Sloppering Military-Industrial-Bankster Complex Lapdog

Posted by M. C. on April 14, 2023

Some time ago I emailed my representative Mike Kelly encouraging him to vote for Matt Gaetz bill, H.Con.Res 21, to require the prez to remove armed services from Syria. I received a response today in the mail. He voted “nay”.

“I agree with the goal to bring our troops home. However, we must do so in a way promotes peace and maintains order following years log conflicts.”

US foreign policy does not do peace and order. Apparently Kelly is unfamiliar with our stellar performances in Iraq, Afghanistan and the exit from Vietnam.

Here’s how area members of Congress voted on major issues during the legislative week – Erie Times E-Edition Article

Posted by M. C. on February 2, 2020

The Constitution declares the ability to declare war rests with congress.

Representatives Kelly and Thompson continue to defy the Constitution they swore to uphold.

Their allegiance does not rest with you. It lays with the warparty and the military/industrial/bankster/congressional complex.

Asserting congressional control over war with Iran: Voting 228-175, the House on Thursday adopted an amendment to HR 550 that would deny funding of any U.S. military action against Iran or its proxy forces without congressional authorization, except when there is an imminent threat to the United States, its armed forces or its territories. The measure asserts the sole constitutional power of Congress to declare war as spelled out in the 1973 War Powers Resolution. The president would have to notify Congress within 48 hours if he marshals the U.S. military against Iran, then withdraw the forces within a specified time unless Congress votes to authorize the action. A yes vote was to amend the bill and send it to the Senate. Kelly: No. Thompson: No.

Repealing Iraq war resolution: Voting 236-166, the House on Thursday adopted an amendment to HR 550 (above) that would repeal the 2002 Iraq war resolution, which has been cited as the legal basis of U.S. military actions in Iraq and other global theaters since, including the recent U.S. assassination at the Baghdad airport of Iranian General Qasem Soleimani. Congress would have six months to update U.S. war authority. Until it does, the president could immediately deploy forces to protect national security without seeking congressional approval. Opponents said the lapse would endanger U.S. troops and increase American exposure to terrorist attacks. A yes vote was to amend the bill and send it to the Senate. Kelly: No. Thompson: No.

Congressman Mike Kelly-Say Again Why You Are Not A Neo-Con Puppet

Posted by M. C. on July 10, 2013

Recently I emailed my Congresspersons asking when they would have James Clapper indicted for lying to congress.  Representative Mike Kelly responded with a form letter that did not address my question but was oozing with concern about my privacy and praise for the FISA court and warrants.  We have recently discussed the validity, or rather lack of, the court and its warrants.

I was going to reprint the letter along with scathing criticism.  But I thought what a complete waste my efforts have been and waste of your time it would be enduring my diatribe.   The situation is all to familiar to anyone that tries to intelligently discuss an issue with their “representative”.
