Nicky Hayden

Hayden was involved in a collision with a car whilst out training and was taken directly to a local hospital by ambulance. Following immediate treatment, the American was then taken to Maurizio Bufalini Hospital in Cesena for further treatment and possible surgery, where he spent the night with fiancé and team members beside him.
Every effort was undergone in order to provide Hayden with the best possible care, but on Monday 22nd May it was announced he had succumbed to his injuries.
In my youth, my hero, apart from my dad, was Mike The Bike Hailwood. Fourteen time TT champion. I would corner my bicycle with my knee stuck out and quickly learned to keep my inside pedal up! Mike was a Brit as was John Surtees who just passed. I saw Surtees drive the porthole Chaparral CanAm car at Mid-Ohio 3 decades before seeing Nicky Hayden win there. Read the rest of this entry »
