I wish someone would just get the oil and gas pipelines built from Qatar through Iraq, Syria and Turkey. That is what this perpetual warmongering is about.
But then someone always finds a reason for war, like money, power and doing other county’s (the ones neocons bow down to) dirty work.

What will come out of this week’s summit between Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un of North Korea remains to be seen, and one must hope for the best, but the bullets are already beginning to fly in the US media with The New York Times’ Nicholas Kristof declaring impulsively somewhat implausibly that Trump gave away the store by canceling military training exercises with South Korea and in legitimizing Jong-un’s rule by meeting with him without getting anything substantive in return.
Lost in the flood of news coming out of Singapore are Trump’s positive comments delivered at the earlier G-7 meeting in Canada, which may have opened the door to a possible meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin and a return of Moscow to a reconfigured G-8. One hopes that China will soon also make it into the ultimate insiders’ club, which will have to be renamed G-9.

Reminds one of the NSA/FIB skills in missing Russian election “meddling” for years, missing the Boston Marathon bombers, 9/11, a Florida school shooter handed them on a silver platter…in Erie PA the FIB raided the home of the founder of Mother’s Against Teen Violence (MATV). Her son was murdered 10 years ago. No explanation offered. Apparently small game season has opened.

All the western powers promised Gorbachev and Shevardnadze that NATO would not expand eastward by ‘one inch’ if Moscow would pull the Red Army out of East Germany and allow it to peacefully reunify with West Germany. This was a titanic concession by Gorbachev: it led to a failed coup against him in 1991 by Communist hardliners.
The documents released by George Washington University in Washington DC, which I attended for a semester, make sickening reading (see them online). All western powers and statesmen assured the Russians that NATO would not take advantage of the Soviet retreat and that a new era of amity and cooperation would dawn in post-Cold War Europe. US Secretary of State Jim Baker offered ‘ironclad guarantees’ there would be no NATO expansion. Lies, all lies…

The fact that Russia is deemed to be making a switch to a war footing tells us they were not previously on that foot. Why would they. Although a nuclear power Russia has the economy of Italy. War is a losers game.

Clearly, the Russian government would not make such an announcement unless it was convinced that the prospect of war with the West was real. Putin described the current accusations against Russia, by the U.S. government, as a deceitful and fictitious tat, which ignores the very real and longstanding American tit, of CIA and other U.S., meddling in the electoral processes of foreign countries.

The segment was Megyn Kelly’s aggressive question to Putin, asking his response to what she said was Americans’ understanding of his government, namely one that murders journalists, suppresses political opposition, is rife with corruption, etc., etc. In the NBC version, Putin’s answer has been cut to one empty introductory statement that “Russia is on its way to becoming a democracy” bracketed by an equally empty closing sentence.
