You don’t have to play by the rules of the corrupt politicians, manipulative media, and brainwashed peers.

In no way does this discussion minimize prejudice and racism others have and still face. Just because this article highlights an often overlooked type of prejudice does not mean we think other kinds don’t exist.

We have discussed how the war on drugs was designed to empower the government to crack down on certain groups, black people included, without the policy having to be explicitly racist. We have also discussed overlooked ways women are still not treated equally–and we aren’t talking about the “pay gap.”

But today we are talking about prejudice against white people, justified by what “our” ancestors did. Others blame their racism on white “micro-aggressions,” which are little bits of subtle racism white people let slip. Read the rest of this entry »

Of Two Minds – Can We Finally Have an Honest Discussion about the Opioid Crisis?

Posted by M. C. on January 27, 2018

So while law enforcement got helicopters and other toys to play with and the War on Drugs Gulags filled up with citizens who should never have been imprisoned, the War on Drugs has killed tens of thousands by outlawing a safe pain-killer and legalizing deadly, highly addictive pain-killers because those deadly, highly addictive pain-killers reaped Big Pharma billions of dollars in profits.

If we are going to have an honest conversation about the opioid epidemic, then we need to recognize the real causes of the epidemic:

1. The Pharmaceutical industry falsely claimed synthetic opioids were non-addictive , and a complicit, toothless regulatory system did nothing, egged on by politicians who were bought off by mega-bucks campaign contributions from Big Pharma. Read the rest of this entry »

Frankly, if you want to worry about drugs, it would be more appropriate to be concerned about the scores of potent psychiatric drugs from Ritalin to Prozac that are actively pushed in the US, often turning users into anything from zombies, to space cadets, to walking time bombs. But that’s another story more relevant to address at some point—likely years in the future when it’s again time to consider whether US drug stocks are buys.

Our War on Drugs is a Success…For the El Chapos and Your Local DHS Funded Militarized Police

Posted by M. C. on October 24, 2012

From a John Larabell review of Lawrence Vance’s book The War on Drugs is a War on Freedom in The New American

In one of his essays, entitled “Cui Bono?” Vance reveals the true beneficiaries of the U.S. government’s war on drugs: drug cartels, drug dealers, various law enforcement agencies, and even pharmaceutical companies. Demonstrating this, he quotes Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman Loera, the head of the Mexican Sinaloa drug cartel:

I couldn’t have gotten so stinking rich without George Bush, George Bush Jr., Ronald Reagan and even El Presidente Obama, none of them have the cojones to stand up to all of the big money that wants to keep this stuff illegal. From the bottom of my heart, I want to say “Gracias Amigos” I owe my whole empire to you. Read the rest of this entry »
