Pathetic Penn State

Posted by M. C. on June 25, 2012

The Associated Press article in today’s Erie Times tells us how Penn State is getting through the Jerry Sandusky scandal.  I know what you are thinking.  Public service, programs to help victims or maybe therapeutic drum circles.  Well you are wrong.  The way to make things better is to sell football tickets.  There was an email urging us to buy football tickets.  The assumption is Penn State sent the email.  Being an Associated Press article we don’t know.  Todd Blackledge bemoans the fact that it will take time to forget and repair the “Image” and “Perception”.  Forget what?  The victims?  They are not even alluded to in the article.  No mention either of the weasel Mike Mcqueary.  He sees Sandusky doing a young boy in the shower.  The 26 year old had to ask daddy what to do.   Daddy’s answer was apparently “nothing”.  Nothing more than what the Penn State rule book said to do. Otherwise the kids are on their own.  Paterno was just as guilty.  You do what is right.  Paterno and Mcqueary didn’t.  I did not go to Penn State but I have heard where if you were on the football team and did something stupid, rape for instance, papa Joe would take care of things.  Big schools are a world of their own.  They even have their own police whose decision on how to deal with an issue is dependent on the effect on sports attendance and alumni contributions.  This is the same school that promoted Prof Michael Mann, creator of the hockey stick climate change lie.  He must be good at getting grants.

Let’s hope new coach Bill O’brien can win that season opener against Ohio State. Then everything will be alright.  Unless you one of the whatzernames that had the misfortune of being in a Penn State shower at the same time as Jerry Sandusky.

Be seeing you

Penn State gave lip service to the victims but in reality they consider themselves the true victims. Their image of integrity was pulverized. Their goal now seems to be to restore the image. If that means actually having integrity, well, you gotta do what you gotta do.

I do find it remarkable how many Penn State articles I read (including one by Lavar Arrington in the Washington Post) that talk only about Paterno and don’t even mention the victims or sexual abuse.
