EconomicPolicyJournal.com: The EU Will Kill the 500-Euro Note Today

Posted by M. C. on April 27, 2019

The better to..track and control all of us…my dear.

https://www.economicpolicyjournal.com/2019/04/the-eu-kills-500-euro-note-today.html

Friday marks a sad day for the more cash-loving residents of the euro area as central banks stop handing out 500-euro notes, reports Bloomberg.

The bastard statists who want to track and control all of us have taken another step in that direction with the end of 500-euro note printing.

While all other national central banks in the European currency bloc terminated issuance in January, Germany and Austria had an additional three months for their banks and citizens to request the purple-colored tender if they so pleased. The deadline is today.

The only large bill options now are Switzerland’s 1,000 franc-bill ($979), and Brunei’s 10,000-dollar note which is worth about $7,313.

The Pentagon’s Days of Future Past – Antiwar.com Original

Posted by M. C. on April 27, 2019

None other than Robert McNamara alerted us 25 years ago that high-tech military forces and equipment are tragically limited in so-called small wars against motivated adversaries. But, the Pentagon refuses to accept this lesson.

https://original.antiwar.com/dave_foster/2019/04/26/the-pentagons-days-of-future-past/

Polish cavalry didn’t really charge tanks as the Germans rolled into their country in 1939. But they did have an outmoded military. Last War-ism played a part: Polish cavalry (along with effective code breaking) fended off the numerically superior Soviets in 1920. But the Poles weren’t the only ones who had not kept up with the times.

On December 7, 1941, the U.S. had 19 battleships and eight aircraft carriers. Eight battleships were damaged that day, two permanently. By the Battle of Midway six months later it was becoming clear that carriers were the future of the surface fleet. Yet, eight new battleships were commissioned after Pearl Harbor, showing the enduring strength of the 19th century idea. The remaining battleships played useful roles, but by war’s end the battleship’s day in the sun was over. Several were used as targets during the Bikini Atoll atomic tests in 1946. Virtually all of the rest had been sold for scrap or donated as local museums by the end of the 1940s. However, four decommissioned soon after WWII but not cut-up for scrap famously reemerged for a time in the 1980s and early-1990s, and calls for their return still happen from time to time.

The Pentagon’s reverence for the stealth is a more recent example of over-investing in a fleeting technological advantage is. Stealth, or low observability, was discovered by a Russian scientist in the early-1960s. It took decades of research and development to put into practice, but military value of stealth was short-lived… Read the rest of this entry »

Washington Has Destroyed Western Liberty: The Era of Tyranny Has Begun – PaulCraigRoberts.org

Posted by M. C. on April 27, 2019

The “war on terror” was a disguise for an attack on the US Constitution, an attack that has succeeded. The worst act of treason in history is the US government’s destruction of the US Constitution.

The era of tyranny has begun. Elections cannot stop it.

https://www.paulcraigroberts.org/2019/04/26/washington-has-destroyed-western-liberty-the-era-of-tyranny-has-begun/

Paul Craig Roberts

A fish rots from the head. In the Western world rot is accelerating. The rot in Washington is swiftly spreading to state and local governments and abroad to the Empire’s vassal governments.

Washington’s attack on journalism represented by the illegal arrest of Julian Assange has now spread to France. The US government’s policy of sanctions against sovereign countries that do not follow Washington’s orders has spread to the state of New York, where the governor has threatened sanctions against financial institutions that do business with the National Rifle Association.

In France the vassal president Macron has ordered three journalists — who revealed that Macron’s government knowingly and intentionally sold arms to Saudi Arabia and the UAE to be used for the slaughter of women and children in Yemen — to report for police questioning. The report proves that Macron’s government deliberately lied when it said it was unaware that French weapons were to be used for attack rather than defense use in violation of the Arms Trade Treaty of 2014. The journalists are under investigation by the French gestapo for “compromising national defense secrets.”

In other words, when the French government lies, it is a violation of national defense secrets to report it.

The entire Western world is adopting Washington’s approach to Assange and criminalizing the practice of journalism, thus protecting governments’ criminality. If you reveal a government crime, as Wikileaks did, you will be prosecuted by the criminal government for doing so. It is like permitting a criminal to prosecute the police and prosecutor who want him arrested…

Cuomo revealed that his threat of sanctions against financial organizations has the purpose of putting “the NRA out of business. We’re forcing NRA into financial jeopardy. We won’t stop until we shut them down.” The tyrant Cuomo knows that the NRA cannot operate without a bank account and insurance coverage.

To be clear, Washington’s success in weaponizing government against the people has spread throughout the empire and down into the state governments of the United States.

When we add to this the mass spying on citizens made possible by the digital revolution, we have as the result the death of liberty…

The New “Stop Resisting” – EPautos – Libertarian Car Talk

Posted by M. C. on April 27, 2019

https://www.ericpetersautos.com/2019/04/26/suspicion-as-the-new-stop-resisting/

By eric

Obeying the speed limit (or any other law) is no defense against vindictive armed government workers, as the first video which follows below shows.

The AGW who stopped this car with the threat of murderous violence – implicit in every non-consensual interaction with an AGW – admits, openly, that the driver was not exceeding the posted speed limit – but asserts that his not exceeding it is itself “suspicious.” This assertion of “suspicion” gives him, the AGW, pretext to stop anyone he likes and subject them to an Authority Display.

“I seen (sic) you going 31 miles per hour in a 45,” the AGW illiterately exclaims. The driver points out that this is not illegal. This fact cuts no ice. “Suspicious vehicle,” exclaims the shaved-head agent of the state. But adduces no violation of any law.

The reasoning would startle Kafka.

If you drive faster than the speed limit, you’re subject to being mulcted at gunpoint by an AGW. If you don’t drive faster, you are “suspicious” and subject to being waylaid at gunpoint by an AGW, so that he can fish for other pretexts to mulct you.

In this instance, the AGW and his partner keep bright flashlights trained on the vehicle’s interior as they visually search it. Luckily for the car’s driver and its occupants, all their “papers” were in order and the AGWs had to sulk away without any booty (or bodies).

But not before subjecting the car and its occupants to an Authority Display, including a threatening baton-twirling display with a skull-cracking Mag light flashlight. Had the men not been obviously recording the incident, it might have turned out differently.

But in practice, the law amounts to do whatever an AGW says it is. Questioning the AGW’s assertions is extremely dangerous because it constitutes “resisting” – and that gives the AW the green light to commence Submission Training, also known colloquially as a Hut! Hut! Hutting!

Thus, AGWs have endowed themselves with – cue Emperor Palpatine voice – unlimited power.

“Suspicion” is like a Swiss Army knife in that it can be used for almost anything. It is even better than a Swiss Army Knife because the knife only has the blade, the screwdriver, the magnifying glass and the fish scaler.

You are walking down the street at night. It’s legal.

“Suspicious!” Let’s have your papers…

“Suspicion” does not qualify as probable cause precisely because it is non-specific.

But that “ties the hands” of what is styled “law enforcement” (AGWs) who must be given every “tool” to “keep us safe.”

That, at any rate, is the argument peddled – mostly (and ironically) by “conservatives,” many of whom who suffer from raw tongues from all the badge licking they do. It’s ironic because “conservatives” will tell you they are concerned about what they style “Big Government,” which they claim they do not trust with too much power. Yet they practically worship armed government workers who exercise arbitrary, unlimited power.

Anti-Christian Oppression: Real News – At the Intersection of Faith and Culture

Posted by M. C. on April 27, 2019

Bearing these gruesome instances of anti-Christian oppression in mind, hopefully the next time the American media prattle on about the supposed “rise” of “Islamophobia” in America (and Europe), we will recognize it for the Fake News that it is.

https://www.beliefnet.com/columnists/attheintersectionoffaithandculture/2019/03/anti-christian-oppression-real-news.html

Posted by Jack Kerwick

While those in the American media have long lamented the (alleged) post-9/11 rise in “Islamophobia,” they have ratcheted up the hysteria since the election of Donald J. Trump to the presidency.

That this template is Fake News is gotten readily enough when the histrionics over “Islamophobia” are seen against the backdrop of the global reality of the anti-Christian oppression to which countless numbers of men, women, and children are routinely subjected—mostly by Muslims.

Open Doors, a ministry that serves persecuted Christians around the world, reports that 11 Christians die every single day for their commitment to Christ.  And of the ten most dangerous places on Earth to be a Christian, eight are Islamic.

In Afghanistan, neither Christianity nor any other religion other than Islam is legal.  Those Muslims who dare to convert to Christianity are seen as traitors to their families, tribes, and nation.  Either that, or their abandonment of Islam is viewed as proof of mental instability, in which case these converts, when found out, may be institutionalized in psychiatric facilities and their homes and property confiscated or destroyed.

More often than not, Christians and converts to Christianity are murdered.

Somalia is 99% Muslim.  The Christian minority that exists in this African land consists almost exclusively of Muslim converts. According to Open Doors, the violent, murderous persecution of Christians—and it is almost entirely murderously violent—is so intense that this organization which is committed to ministering to oppressed Christians the world over couldn’t even publish specific illustrations of the violence for security purposes.

Libya is the fourth most hostile country for Christians.  After the fall of Muammar Gaddafi, Islamic militants seized control of various parts of Libya—a turn of events that has had tragic consequences for the country’s Christian population.  Open Doors: “The level of violence against Christians in Libya is very high, and Christians in Libya are subjected to violent, inhumane and degrading treatment.”

What’s worse is that those Muslims who have converted to Christianity are endangered by their family members.

Islamic-dominated Pakistan is not much more pleasant for its Christian population…

Sudan is the sixth most dangerous place for Christians…

There is a reason why Eritrea has earned the reputation of being “Africa’s North Korea.” Upon conducting house raids, government agents have arrested and imprisoned scores of Christians because of their faith…

Iran remains one of the planet’s most hostile spots for Christians…

Jared Kushner, Not Maria Butina, Is America’s Real Foreign Agent — Strategic Culture

Posted by M. C. on April 27, 2019

Maria Butina is in jail for doing nothing while Jared Kushner, who needed a godfathered security clearance due to his close Israeli ties, struts through the White House as senior advisor to the president in spite of the fact that he used his nepotistically obtained access to openly promote the interests of a foreign government.

https://www.strategic-culture.org/news/2019/04/25/jared-kushner-not-maria-butina-is-americas-real-foreign-agent/

Philip Giraldi

…Kushner reportedly aggressively pressured members of the Trump transition team to contact foreign ambassadors at the United Nations to convince them to vote against or abstain from voting on the December 2016 United Nations Security Council Resolution 2334 condemning Israeli settlements. The resolution passed when the US, acting under direction of President Barack Obama, abstained, but incoming National Security Adviser Michael Flynn did indeed contact the Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak twice and asked for Moscow’s cooperation, which was refused. Kushner, who is so close to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that the latter has slept at the Kushner apartment in New York City, was clearly acting in response to direction coming from the Israeli government.

Another interesting tidbit revealed by Mueller relates to Trump foreign policy adviser George Papadopoulos’s ties to Israel over an oil development scheme. Mueller “ultimately determined that the evidence was not sufficient to obtain or sustain a conviction” that Papadopoulos “committed a crime or crimes by acting as an unregistered agent of the Israeli government.” Mueller went looking for a Russian connection but found only Israel and decided to do nothing about it.

As so often is the case, inquiries that begin by looking for foreign interference in American politics start by focusing on Washington’s adversaries but then comes up with Israel. Noam Chomsky described it best “First of all, if you’re interested in foreign interference in our elections, whatever the Russians may have done barely counts or weighs in the balance as compared with what another state does, openly, brazenly and with enormous support. Netanyahu goes directly to Congress, without even informing the president, and speaks to Congress, with overwhelming applause, to try to undermine the president’s policies—what happened with Obama and Netanyahu in 2015. Did Putin come to give an address to the joint sessions of Congress trying to—calling on them to reverse US policy, without even informing the president? And that’s just a tiny bit of this overwhelming influence.”

Maria Butina is in jail for doing nothing while Jared Kushner, who needed a godfathered security clearance due to his close Israeli ties, struts through the White House as senior advisor to the president in spite of the fact that he used his nepotistically obtained access to openly promote the interests of a foreign government. Mueller knows all about it but recommended nothing, as if it didn’t happen. The media is silent. Congress will do nothing. As Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi put it “We in Congress stand by Israel. In Congress, we speak with one voice on the subject of Israel.” Indeed.

Why Do Socialists Hate Families? | Mises Wire

Posted by M. C. on April 27, 2019

Yet, Marx, Engels, and many of their modern followers are anti-family. Marx and Engels write in The Communist Manifesto:

Abolition of the family! […]

https://mises.org/wire/why-do-socialists-hate-families

…Interestingly, another key tenet of socialism, besides abolishing the ownership of the factors of production, is abolishing the family. This is strange because the traditional nuclear family seems like it could be used in producing convincing socialist rhetoric: it is a good example of social bonds without private property, prices, and “capitalist exploitation.”

Yet, Marx, Engels, and many of their modern followers are anti-family. Marx and Engels write in The Communist Manifesto:

Abolition of the family! […] On what foundation is the present family, the bourgeois family, based? On capital, on private gain. In its completely developed form, this family exists only among the bourgeoisie. But this state of things finds its complement in the practical absence of the family among the proletarians, and in public prostitution.

The bourgeois family will vanish as a matter of course when its complement vanishes, and both will vanish with the vanishing of capital.

Do you charge us with wanting to stop the exploitation of children by their parents? To this crime we plead guilty.

Marx and Engels make a distinction between bourgeois and proletariat families, but “both will vanish” once communism is realized, apparently because — according ot Marx — bourgeois families are predicated on exploitation. Men exploit their wives and parents exploit their children, all for “private gain.”

Engels writes in Principles of Communism:

What will be the influence of communist society on the family?

It will transform the relations between the sexes into a purely private matter which concerns only the persons involved and into which society has no occasion to intervene. It can do this since it does away with private property and educates children on a communal basis, and in this way removes the two bases of traditional marriage – the dependence rooted in private property, of the women on the man, and of the children on the parents.

The communist society includes the public education of children and a breakdown of social norms on monogamy, family responsibilities, and dependence on any individual. According to ReviseSociology.com:

Marxists argue that the nuclear family performs ideological functions for Capitalism – the family acts as a unit of consumption and teaches passive acceptance of hierarchy. It is also the institution through which the wealthy pass down their private property to their children, thus reproducing class inequality.

Modern Marxists argue that families are just propaganda channels for capitalism. Families instill acceptance of hierarchy and give the bourgeoisie a way to “reproduce class inequality” through inheritances. To this end, Engels approvingly quotes Marx in The Origin of the Family, Private Property and the State:

The modern family contains in germ not only slavery (servitus), but also serfdom, since from the beginning it is related to agricultural services. It contains in miniature all the contradictions which later extend throughout society and its state.

For Marx, the family represents a microcosm of capitalism. But why didn’t he identify it as a microcosm of socialism to argue that if socialism is feasible at the family level, then it could be feasible at a larger scale?…

Flashback–Joe Biden in 2014: Illegal Aliens are ‘Already American Citizens’

Posted by M. C. on April 26, 2019

“I don’t go so far as to think that the only good Indians are dead Indians, but I believe 9 out of 10 are, and I shouldn’t like to inquire too closely into the case of the 10th.”

“[Some Africans] are ape-like naked savages, who… prey on creatures not much wilder or lower than themselves.”

“Criminals should be sterilised and feeble-minded persons forbidden to leave offspring behind them.”

TR. Warmonger, racist and no friend to European immigrants that underbid US labor.

The original true progressive.

https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2019/04/25/flashback-joe-biden-in-2014-illegal-aliens-are-already-american-citizens/

by John Binder

Former Vice President and 2020 Democrat presidential primary candidate Joe Biden previously said all 11 to 22 million illegal aliens living across the United States are “already American citizens.”

In a 2014 speech to the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in Washington, D.C. then-Vice President Biden declared that all 11 to 22 million illegal aliens in the U.S. are one and the same to American citizens.

Biden said:

You know, the 11 million people living in the shadows, I believe they’re already American citizens. Teddy Roosevelt said it better, he said Americanism is not a question of birthplace or creed or a line of dissent. It’s a question of principles, idealism, and character. [Emphasis added]

These people are just waiting, waiting for a chance to be able to contribute fully. And by that standard, 11 million undocumented aliens are already Americans. [Emphasis added]

Biden’s citation of Roosevelt’s “True Americanism” 1894 essay failed to mention that the former president was fiercely opposed to a multicultural American culture and politics, arguing that assimilation in immigration is vital to preserving national identity.

Roosevelt wrote:

Americanism is a question of spirit, conviction, and purpose, not of creed or birthplace. The politician who bids for the Irish or German vote, or the Irishman or German who votes as an Irishman or German, is despicable, for all citizens of this commonwealth should vote solely as Americans; but he is not a whit less despicable than the voter who votes against a good American, merely because that American happens to have been born in Ireland or Germany.

UCLA, Cal State LA To Quarantine Students Who Cannot Prove They Had Measles Vaccination

Posted by M. C. on April 26, 2019

Quarantine CA. Better yet, just stay the hell out all together.

https://losangeles.cbslocal.com/2019/04/25/measles-quarantine-ucla-cal-state-los-angeles/

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA/AP) – A quarantine order has been issued for students and staff at two Los Angeles universities who may have been exposed to measles and either have not been vaccinated or can’t verify that they have immunity.

The University of California, Los Angeles, said that as of Wednesday there were 119 students and 8 faculty members under quarantine. The exact number of those quarantined at California State University, Los Angeles, was not officially known.

But CBS2/KCAL9 reporter Leslie Marin said the number at Cal State University, Los Angeles was believed to be about 198 people, including students and staff.

UCLA Chancellor Gene Block announced the quarantines in a statement that confirmed one UCLA student has contracted measles.

“We were also informed that the student had attended classes at Franz Hall and Boelter Hall on three days — April 2, 4 and 9 — while contagious. The student
did not enter any other buildings while on campus”, said Block.

So far, “dozens” of such orders have already been issued for students who were in the CSULA campus library on April 11 between the hours of 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., officials said at a news conference Thursday afternoon.

Any student who has been exposed to a confirmed case of measles who could not provide evidence of two doses of measles immunizations or lab verified immunity to measles will be issued a health officer order for quarantine, which mandates the exposed person to remain at their residence…

What’s Behind Bolton’s Attacks on the ‘Troika of Tyranny’? – Antiwar.com Original

Posted by M. C. on April 26, 2019

https://original.antiwar.com/feffer/2019/04/25/whats-behind-boltons-attacks-on-the-troika-of-tyranny/

If you’re in the market for a troika of tyranny, Donald Trump, John Bolton, and Mike Pompeo certainly fit the bill. Or, if you’d rather focus on countries not individuals, you might single out Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Egypt as the three most likely candidates. Perhaps, if you’re in a confessional mood, how about Christian fundamentalism, Jewish extremism, and Salafist Wahhabism?

A troika, for those who haven’t read any 19th-century Russian novels recently, is a carriage drawn by three horses. So, the ultimate troika of tyranny, from the point of view of the planet as a whole, would feature the three horsemen of the ongoing apocalypse: climate change, nuclear proliferation, and global pandemic.

But no, that’s not what National Security Advisor John Bolton had in mind when he talked last week of a “troika of tyranny.” In a rehash of a speech he gave in November in Miami, Bolton declared last week that the “troika of tyranny – Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua – is beginning to crumble.” Further laying on the insults, Bolton called Cuba’s Miguel Díaz-Canel, Venezuela’s Nicolás Maduro, and Nicaragua’s Daniel Ortega “the three stooges of socialism.”

Ever since George W. Bush included Iraq, Iran, and North Korea in an “axis of evil,” speechmakers have been in search of the holy grail of geopolitical matchmaking (for instance, Condoleezza Rice’s “outposts of tyranny”)…

Bolton’s more alliterative phrase suffers from the same conceptual problems. Worse, it revives an anti-Communist crusade that could easily expand to include North Korea, China, and any left-leaning country (New Zealand?) that makes the mistake of looking at Bolton funny.

A New Monroe Doctrine?

Trump understands the world in terms of three types of leaders. There are the autocrats he like. There are the autocrats he doesn’t like. And then there are all the rest: the democrats he doesn’t respect…

Bolton never liked Cuba. When he was undersecretary of state for arms control in the George W. Bush administration, Bolton accused the country of making biological weapons. This accusation came only two months after Bush had inaugurated the “axis of evil,” and Bolton was eager to shoehorn Cuba into the new group. But his efforts to designate the Caribbean island a “terrorist threat” – and prepare the ground for yet another US invasion – foundered when a congressional investigation turned up no evidence of a biological weapons program in the country.

Now Bolton is excited to have a second chance to group Cuba with two other countries that have fallen afoul of the United States: Venezuela and Nicaragua.

Like the original members of the “axis of evil,” they don’t have much in common with one another. Cuba is avowedly Marxist in orientation, with a Third World agrarian spin. Venezuela, on the other hand, is a corrupt petro-state led by a leader who calls himself socialist but is really just a klutzy kleptocrat. Then there’s Daniel Ortega, who was once a socialist revolutionary but has transformed himself into a Catholic dictator along the lines of Francisco Franco.

None of these countries poses even the remotest threat to the United States. They have dismal human rights records, but that hasn’t been a concern for the Trump administration anywhere else in the world.

So, why is Bolton bothering to waste his rhetorical flourishes on the trio? The national security advisor claims that Cuba is propping up Maduro. He hints that Ortega’s days are numbered. Is Bolton campaigning to revive what had once been the traditional US approach to Latin America: invasion, occupation, regime change?…

In the end, Bolton is after nothing short of a new Cold War.

Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua are small countries with no desire or means to attack the United States. North Korea with its nuclear weapons, China with the world’s second largest military, and Russia with its geopolitical ambitions, on the other hand, are much worthier adversaries.

Prolonged conflict with these three will keep militarists like Bolton in business for decades. As importantly, Bolton can use these larger confrontations to unravel all international institutions, all forms of international cooperation, in fact anything that smacks of an international community.

With all eyes focused these days on Trump and his myriad crimes, John Bolton’s speeches are a reminder that even worse options are waiting in the wings.

Be seeing you
