Witness to the Truth – LewRockwell

Posted by M. C. on April 12, 2019

CNN and The Guardian have the gall to call us and ask how it is that we were the only ones to get this footage.

It’s obvious: you are just the spineless hypocritical servants of your Establishment and not journalists at all.  This is why such a thing happened.

John 3:21 King James: But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

John 18:37 King James: Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, “Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.”

Julian Assange was arrested today…

For me, these words have the impact of drone strike, even if the news was expected. I watched streaming coverage on Russia Today via the Pluto App; I had no taste for the Deep State Neoconservative network warmongering Fox News (with the exception of Tucker Carlson but I don’t know how he’ll cover the story, if he does at all).

I am truly saddened for Julian Assange, his family, and for the ones who decided to use force against a person who is a journalist, a person who exposed disturbing truths about the American Empire and revealed its true nature. If you are not a reader of alternative press, such as this website, you’d be convinced that America is a force for good, especially the nation’s military which bombs for a good cause. I have no response to such a mentality.

Yet this short video, which was broadcast by Russia Today, makes very clear the revelations of WikiLeaks:

The below is exclusive footage of Julian Assange’s arrest:

RT discusses all the charges against Assange in this article.

Parenthetically, as to getting the footage of Assange’s arrest, RT’s response via The Saker: Read the rest of this entry »

Roger Stone: I will be vindicated

Posted by M. C. on April 11, 2019

I do not get my news from CNN for the same reason I do not eat out of the toilet. Wolf Blitzer can kiss my ass!

One thing for sure. This will be interesting.

https://spectator.us/roger-stone-will-vindicated/

In January, when heavily armed FBI agents swarmed my south Florida home in the predawn hours to arrest me for a series of process crimes, it changed my life far more than I ever imagined. The judge in my case has issued a gag order so I am not permitted to discuss the case, the prosecution, the court or the specific charges against me and will not do so here. As the judge said, the place for talking is in court — and that time will come.

***

A vast American television audience was allowed to view the spectacle
of my arrest, because CNN arrived
15 minutes before the FBI swat team. CNN denies it was tipped off, instead chalking its good fortune up to a ‘hunch’. President Trump asked in a tweet
‘Who alerted CNN?’ Who indeed?

This week, it was widely reported that the FBI is refusing to turn over emails between the agency and CNN in the days before the raid on my home. Now the US Department of Justice is being sued
for these documents and perhaps we
will learn the truth about how and why CNN was present and why it was allowed to stay when the street was sealed off
 to all others.

***

CNN, MSNBC, the Washington Post, Politico and the Wall Street Journal have repeatedly accused me baselessly of collusion with the Russians, conspiracy, and treason. That is not the case. I plan a vigorous legal defense. I will be vindicated…

In all of the reporting regarding the charges against me, there is one constant: I am called a ‘self-described dirty trickster’. I have never described myself like this anywhere and was impressed with the professionalism of the Los Angeles Times when it corrected this particular smear. I did once acknowledge in an interview that others described me as a ‘dirty trickster’, and therefore I am probably stuck with it.

***

I was also shocked to watch USA Today’s Susan Page on MSNBC discussing her newly published biography and diaries of Barbara Bush. These contain a falsehood that is so wrong it requires correction. Barbara Bush said in her diary that when she learned I was ‘hired’ for her husband’s 1988 campaign, she then had me ‘fired’. Unfortunately I was never hired for H.W. Bush’s 1988 campaign and never wanted to be…

Amazon Workers Are Listening to What You Tell Alexa

Posted by M. C. on April 11, 2019

SHOCKED!

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-04-10/is-anyone-listening-to-you-on-alexa-a-global-team-reviews-audio?srnd=premium

By

and

Tens of millions of people use smart speakers and their voice software to play games, find music or trawl for trivia. Millions more are reluctant to invite the devices and their powerful microphones into their homes out of concern that someone might be listening.

Sometimes, someone is.

Amazon.com Inc. employs thousands of people around the world to help improve the Alexa digital assistant powering its line of Echo speakers. The team listens to voice recordings captured in Echo owners’ homes and offices. The recordings are transcribed, annotated and then fed back into the software as part of an effort to eliminate gaps in Alexa’s understanding of human speech and help it better respond to commands.

The Alexa voice review process, described by seven people who have worked on the program, highlights the often-overlooked human role in training software algorithms. In marketing materials Amazon says Alexa “lives in the cloud and is always getting smarter.” But like many software tools built to learn from experience, humans are doing some of the teaching.

The team comprises a mix of contractors and full-time Amazon employees who work in outposts from Boston to Costa Rica, India and Romania, according to the people, who signed nondisclosure agreements barring them from speaking publicly about the program. They work nine hours a day, with each reviewer parsing as many as 1,000 audio clips per shift, according to two workers based at Amazon’s Bucharest office, which takes up the top three floors of the Globalworth building in the Romanian capital’s up-and-coming Pipera district. The modern facility stands out amid the crumbling infrastructure and bears no exterior sign advertising Amazon’s presence.

The work is mostly mundane. One worker in Boston said he mined accumulated voice data for specific utterances such as “Taylor Swift” and annotated them to indicate the searcher meant the musical artist. Occasionally the listeners pick up things Echo owners likely would rather stay private: a woman singing badly off key in the shower, say, or a child screaming for help. The teams use internal chat rooms to share files when they need help parsing a muddled word—or come across an amusing recording…

Watch: Julian Assange Arrested In London | Zero Hedge

In other words Lenin Moreno was made an offer he couldn’t refuse.

I have always wondered what Wikileaks has held back and what it would take to make it spill.

The US warrant was delivered in December 2017, showing that the US prosecutors were behind his arrest.

* * *

Press reports suggested that Assange was arrested at around 10 am London Time (5 am New York) in what appeared to be a “planned operation.” Though his first battle will be with the British legal system over charges of skipping bail when he sought asylum in 2012, analysts expect that he will eventually face extradition to the US, after a sealed indictment against him were accidentally revealed last year. Wikileaks accused Ecuador of illegally terminating Assange’s asylum, adding that the Ecuadorian ambassador invited police inside the embassy to take Assange into custody.

In a tweet published moments ago, Ecuadorian President Lenin Moreno said that Assange’s “discourteous and aggressive” behavior, as well as “hostile” acts committed by Wikileaks, pushed Ecuador to revoke his asylum. Moreno cited Wikileaks’ publication of sensitive Vatican documents earlier this year as the straw that finally broke the camel’s back. Members of the organization purportedly visited Assange in the embassy after the leak, apparently substantiating suspicions that Assange was still in charge of the organization.

Furthermore, Moreno declared his asylum “unsustainable and no longer viable” because Assange had repeatedly violated “clear cut provisions of the conventions of on diplomatic asylum.”…

Barr Forms Team To Investigate FBI Malfeasance During 2016 Election | Zero Hedge

https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2019-04-09/barr-forms-team-investigate-fbi-malfeasance-during-2016-election

by Tyler Durden

Attorney General William Barr has assembled an internal team at the Justice Department to review controversial counterintelligence decisions made by DOJ and FBI officials – including actions taken in the summer of 2016, according to Bloomberg, which cites a person familiar with the matter.

Barr seemingly confirmed the Bloomberg report earlier Tuesday, when he told a House panel “I am reviewing the conduct of the investigation and trying to get my arms around all the aspects of the counterintelligence investigation that was conducted during the summer of 2016.”

For starters, Barr’s team may want to investigate exactly how information flowed from a self-professed member of the Clinton Foundation – Joseph Mifsud – to Trump campaign aide George Papadopoulos in March of 2016, who learned during the encounter that Russia had “dirt” on Hillary Clinton.

Papadopoulos would later tell Australian diplomat Alexander Downer about the so-called Clinton dirt, which resulted in the launch of “operation crossfire hurricane,” the code name for the FBI’s counterintelligence investigation against the Trump campaign.

In September 2016, the FBI would send spy Stefan Halper to further probe Papadopoulos on the Clinton email allegation, and – according to an interview with pundit Dan Bongino, Papadopoulos says Halper angrily accused him of working with Russia before storming out of a meeting. ..

Oregon Gun Bill to Make PEPPER SPRAY a Felony – The Organic Prepper

Posted by M. C. on April 11, 2019

https://www.theorganicprepper.com/sb978-oregon-pepper-spray/

by Daisy Luther

A new gun control bill introduced in the Oregon State Legislature added 45 pages of draconian amendments the night before the vote. SB978 passed the Judiciary Committee yesterday and now heads to the Oregon Senate.

It’s a good thing that some parts of this state have vowed to be 2A sanctuaries because Oregonians are going to need them. If the gun owners – and even pepper spray owners – in other parts of the state hope to defend themselves, they could be facing a vast new array of felony charges.

The battle for the right to bear arms is rapidly spreading across the country. In February, the House of Representatives passed two sweeping national bills.  New Mexico has passed 6 outrageous new laws that sheriffs are refusing to enforce, and sheriffs in Washington state are also rebelling. On the other stand, two states have introduced invasive laws requiring would-be gun owners to hand over access to years of personal social media.

What’s in the unconstitutional bill, you ask?

Well, let’s get started.

Raising the minimum age

They want to raise the minimum age to buy a gun to 21 in certain cases.

The following may establish a minimum age of 18,19, 20 or 21 years for the purchase of firearms, firearm accessories, firearm components, ammunition or ammunition components, or for the repair or service of a firearm:
“(a) A person transferring a firearm, a firearm accessory, a firearm
component, ammunition or an ammunition component at a gun show;
“(b) A gun dealer; or
“(c) A business engaged in repairing or servicing a firearm

Keeping your gun locked up

Residents will be required to keep their guns locked up at all times that they are not being carried. These rules will render guns all but useless in the event a person needs to access them to protect themselves and their family.

A person who owns or possesses a firearm shall, at all times that the firearm is not carried by or under the control of
the person or an authorized person, secure the firearm:

“(A) With an engaged trigger lock or cable lock that meets or exceeds the minimum specifications established by the Oregon Health Authority under section 10 of this 2019 Act;
“(B) In a locked container, equipped with a tamper-resistant lock, that meets or exceeds the minimum specifications established by the Oregon Health Authority under section 10 of this 2019 Act; or
“(C) In a gun room.
“(b) For purposes of paragraph (a) of this subsection, a firearm is not secured if a key, combination or other means of opening a lock or container is readily available to a person the owner or possessor has not authorized to carry or control the firearm.

Failure to follow these rules is a Class C Felony. Also, don’t get excited about the phrase “gun room” because your bedroom doesn’t count…

bionic mosquito – The Cyclone

Posted by M. C. on April 11, 2019

The English have treated India just like…they treat everyone else.

http://bionicmosquito.blogspot.com/

The Cyclone

Everyone in Midnapore dates the famine from the day of the cyclone, October 16, 1942.

Churchill’s Secret War: The British Empire and the Ravaging of India during World War II, by Madhusree Mukerjee

From the beginning of British rule until the mid-twentieth century, events transpired as one would expect regarding the colony: wealth transferred from colony to the empire; rebellions against foreign rule; suppressions against local protests; closing of the local congress.

Most important for this story: India went from being reasonably self-sufficient in food and grain to a significant exporter of these, to the benefit of other parts of the Empire. Life-expectancy was increasing in Britain while decreasing in India.

Inventory in food and grain was minimized from the beginning of the war. In the face of this, the cyclone; heavy rains and wind, strong enough to lift a man. The winds went from morning until midnight; the banks of the Rupnarayan River had burst, and the ocean swept in:

Salt water covered the entire landscape. The cyclone had destroyed virtually every tree and house on the horizon.

Huts collapsed; bodies – human and animal – floated by in the flood-waters; trees uprooted. Something between ten-thousand and thirty-thousand perished. Worst of all, the receding waters left a layer of sand that crushed the rice plants; the crop – expected to be harvested that winter – was gone. A difficulty in any circumstance; the beginning of a famine when years of forced export drained all inventory and stores.

No more cereal was going to be available for upward of a year – until the next crop could be sown in the monsoon of 1943 and harvested at the end of that December.

The government (British, of course) would not allow the release of boats for rescue; cyclone relief would be withheld until the people turned over stolen guns; private charity workers were arrested for attempting to provide aid.

By January 1943, a food crisis was raging in Bengal…

Name ONE TIME a government program accomplished its goal | The Daily Bell

Posted by M. C. on April 10, 2019

How these politicians intend to pay for their social programs is actually beside the point. Even when they have the money to pay for their programs, they can’t execute.

https://www.thedailybell.com/all-articles/news-analysis/name-one-time-a-government-program-accomplished-its-goal/

by Joe Jarvis

Illinois has the worst credit rating of any state.

It has $8 billion in outstanding bills and a $3.2 billion deficit in just next year’s budget.

But the worst part is the $250 billion they need to pay their state pensions…

When you or I have debt, the first thing we have to do is tighten the belt. We save money and cut expenses.

But imagine if instead you could just waltz up to your boss and demand a raise. And not because you’re doing more work, or because you hit a home-run with last quarter’s goals… just because you got yourself into debt.

If Illinois was an employee, they would have been fired by now. They haven’t hit any of their goals and continuously fail to deliver on the promises they have made.

But the taxpayers will once again face tax increases in order to pay for more government, more promises, and more mismanaged policy.

The Governor recently proposed a graduated income tax to raise rates on the highest earners.

This will bring in more revenue they say… when have they been wrong before?

Meanwhile, 137,000 net residents have left the state since 2013.

Somehow I’m guessing their estimates for revenue are going to be just as wrong as their pension and budgeting calculations.

Never do governments even remotely consider that the solution is to spend less.

And never does anyone ask, what about the outcome?

Why would more money solve these problems when the government has spent so much money already, and still failed to execute on their promises?

It’s the same in business. We just went through a decade of low-interest rates, which meant easy money for stupid investments. People sunk money into terrible ideas that never got executed, and destroyed value.

The difference is it destroyed value for a very select group of people: investors and business owners.

And those people made the choice to put their own money into those businesses.

Raising the money is the easy part. Show me ONE TIME a government program did what it said it was going to do.

The war on drugs, Great Society to end poverty, the war on crime, the war on terrorism…

And yet the newest crop of socialist politicians say right up front that results don’t matter.

When it came to fighting for a cleaner environment, Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez said:

The power is in the person who is trying, regardless of the success. If you’re trying, you’ve got all the power, you’re driving the agenda…

Like, I just introduced Green New Deal… and it’s creating all this conversation, why? Because no one else has even tried…
