Macron Calls for “Recalibrated” Capitalism Under Single Global Order – The New American

Posted by M. C. on November 23, 2022

It is a message as old as Nimrod building the Tower of Babel in an attempt to create a one-world government in his day. What Macron is doing is simply re-casting that old effort in new language, because very few would favor a world government with an economy controlled by that world government.

Instead, the world’s people must be convinced that only a world government can solve the world’s problems. But of course, a world government would create a new, and much bigger problem for freedom.

Macron Calls for “Recalibrated” Capitalism Under Single Global Order
AP Images

In an address at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum in Thailand on Friday of last week, French President Emmanuel Macron said that the world needs “a single global order” to deal with the trade conflict between Communist China and the United States, a situation that Macron bemoaned as forcing other countries to choose sides.

Elected president of France in May 2017 on the “Renaissance” Party ticket, Macron had previously been a member of the Socialist Party. Evidently, while he has now rebranded himself with a different political party, his dedication to the cause of world government — a goal that has been a socialist cornerstone since at least the days of Karl Marx — is quite clear.

In his keynote address at the summit in Bangkok, which he titled “Navigating a Turbulent World,” Macron posed a question: “Are you on the U.S. or the China side?” to which he answered that what was needed was “a single global order” to replace the rule of superpowers such as the United States or China.

Macron described the United States and China as “two big elephants” that needed to be replaced by the “cooperation of a lot of other animals” through a single world order. This trade confrontation, Macron contended, was just one of three situations that have caused the drive for a global order, trade, and investment. The other two problems are the Russia-Ukraine war and climate change.

“A dynamic balance is the best way for nations to avoid being forced to choose between superpowers,” Macron said. “Countries have to pursue inclusive, sustainable development to address inequality and instability. You compete, all of us want to win. But you have to respect the sovereignty of the other one.” It would seem that a respect for national sovereignty and a “single” global order are contradictory.

Macron certainly does not favor the traditional concept of a free market, arguing in his talk that capitalism’s DNA must be recalibrated to advance the cause of world trade and development.

It should be noted that a push for world government, as Macron apparently is doing, would receive little support around the world without convincing the nations of the world, and their citizens, that a “single, global order” is necessary to solve alleged problems that cannot be solved otherwise. That is why globalists — those who favor a world government — have used the understandable desire to avoid wars to get the populations of the world to favor such a government. They argue that national sovereignty and economic competition is the cause of military conflicts.

The big pushes for world government after World War I with the League of Nations and after World War II with the United Nations, and during the Cold War, illustrate this. When the Soviet Union was the major concern of many after World War II, it was argued that internationalism and alliances such as NATO were needed to prevent wars. So, it is rather predictable that a globalist such as Macron would cite the need for a single global order when he mentioned the Russia-Ukraine War.

AP Editor Said She “Can’t Imagine” A US Intelligence Official Being Wrong

Posted by M. C. on November 23, 2022

Our rulers lie to us, propagandize us, endanger us, impoverish us, destroy journalism, start wars, kill our biosphere and make our world dark and confusing, and they suffer no consequences for it. We cannot allow them to continue holding all of the power and none of the responsibility. This is backwards and must end.

https://caitlinjohnstone.substack.com/p/ap-editor-said-she-cant-imagine-a?r=iw8dv&utm_medium=android

The Associated Press journalist who reported a US intelligence official’s false claim that Russia had launched missiles at Poland last week has been fired

As we discussed previously, AP’s anonymously sourced report which said “A senior U.S. intelligence official says Russian missiles crossed into NATO member Poland, killing two people” went viral because of the massive implications of direct hot warfare erupting between Russia and the NATO alliance. AP subsequently retracted its story as the mainstream political/media class came to accept that it was in fact a Ukrainian missile that had struck Poland.

AP’s firing of reporter James LaPorta looks at this time to be the end point of any accountability for the circulation of this extremely dangerous falsehood. AP spokesperson Lauren Easton says no disciplinary action will be taken against the editors who waved the bogus story through, and to this day the public has been kept in the dark about the identity of the US official who fed such extremely egregious misinformation/disinformation to the public through the mainstream press.

Aaron Maté @aaronjmate

Important that AP accounts for publishing the false claim that Russia fired missiles into Poland. But the much more important task is finding out why an anonymous senior US intelligence official fed AP that false claim.

AP Fires Reporter Whose Anonymously-Sourced and Retracted Story Claimed Russia Killed Polish Civilians https://t.co/fMW5rPbpPx1:31 AM ∙ Nov 23, 2022705Likes215Retweets

It is utterly inexcusable for AP to continue to protect the anonymity of a government official who fed them such a profoundly significant falsehood. This didn’t just affect AP staff, it affected the whole world; we deserve to know what happened and who was responsible, and AP has no business obstructing that knowledge from us.

LaPorta’s firing looks like this is yet another instance where the least powerful person involved in a debacle is being made to take the fall for it. A powerful intelligence official will suffer no consequences for feeding false information to the press — thereby ensuring that it will happen again — and no disciplinary action will be taken against LaPorta’s superiors, despite the absolute buffoonery that subsequent reporting has revealed on their part.

In an article titled “Associated Press reporter fired over erroneous story on Russian attack,” The Washington Post reports the following (emphasis added):

Internal AP communications viewed by The Post show some confusion and misunderstanding during the preparations of the erroneous report.

LaPorta shared the U.S. official’s tip in an electronic message around 1:30 p.m. Eastern time. An editor immediately asked if AP should issue an alert on his tip, “or would we need confirmation from another source and/or Poland?”

After further discussion, a second editor said she “would vote” for publishing an alert, adding, “I can’t imagine a U.S. intelligence official would be wrong on this.”

The AP fired the reporter but not the editor who, apparently, will literally believe and publish anything a US intelligence official tells her.

“I can’t imagine a US intelligence official would be wrong on this.”

Can you imagine not being able to imagine a US intelligence official being wrong? This would be an unacceptable position for any educated adult to hold, much less a journalist, still less an editor, and still less an editor of one of the most influential news agencies on earth.

These are the people who publish the news reports we read to find out what’s happening in the world. This is the baby-brained level of thinking these people are serving the public interest with.

Antiwar commentator Daniel Larison writes the following of the AP editor’s shocking quote:

Skepticism about official claims should always be the watchword for journalists and analysts. These are claims that need more scrutiny than usual rather than less. If you can’t imagine that an intelligence official could get something important wrong, whether by accident or on purpose, you are taking far too many things for granted that need to be questioned and checked out first.

Intelligence officials of many governments feed information to journalists and have done so practically ever since there was a popular press to feed information to, and that information certainly should not be trusted just because an official source hands it over. It is also always possible for intelligence officials to just get things wrong, whether it is because they are relying on faulty information or because they were too hasty in reaching conclusions about what they think they know.

Whether the AP’s source was feeding them a line or was simply mistaken, a claim as provocative and serious as this one should have been checked out much more thoroughly before it got anywhere near publication. The AP report in this case seems to have been a combination of a story that was “too good to check” and a culture of deference to official sources in which the editors didn’t feel compelled to make the effort to check.

The Big Lie Revisited – LewRockwell

Posted by M. C. on November 22, 2022

https://www.lewrockwell.com/2022/11/dom-armentano/the-big-lie-revisited/

By Dom Armentano

The main-stream media has repeated almost daily that  Donald Trump and several important MAGA-friendly organizations  continue to support the so-called “big lie,”  namely,  that the 2020 election was stolen. They also repeat almost daily  that this conclusion about that election  is totally bogus  since   “no evidence” of substantial election fraud  was  ever uncovered in the  65+ lawsuits filed after the election; Trump and his supporters lost them all.  The election was stolen?  What nonsense. It’s all “delusional thinking” and irrational conspiracy theory. Case closed.

Well not quite.

The American Bar Association (ABA) has published a list of the legal filings that challenged the results of the 2020 election and a summary of the court findings in each case.  It makes for very interesting reading.

The most important lesson to be drawn from  these  case summaries is that the bulk of them  have (almost) nothing to do with the  alleged evidence concerning  voter and election fraud.  And the reason for this is reasonably clear. Fraud is  itself  an extremely difficult legal matter to litigate; along with any relevant empirical evidence, the legal concepts of due diligence and “intent” would have to be fully explored.  Moreover, any  determination of election and/or voter  fraud  would have  required (at a very minimum)  a so-called “evidentiary hearing”  where the court would  take testimony under oath  from expert witnesses;  accept and evaluate  properly supported affidavits; evaluate any relevant election data analysis,  and explore the  murky issue of “intent” (by elected officials and others) at some length.  To my knowledge,  none of this process or analysis occurred in any systematic manner in any of the 65  post-2020 election challenge cases.

*

So what were these cases really about?  My reading of the summaries convinces me that the courts were concerned almost exclusively  with what are termed “procedural issues” and not with the actual substance of what would  constitute election fraud.  For example, the so-called issue of “standing” is procedural. Does a  particular plaintiff have the legal right  to bring this  action?  If the answer is “no” then the entire case is summarily dismissed.  (This happened in several  of the challenge cases). This, of course,  is a perfectly appropriate ruling but it has  nothing  whatsoever to do with the issue of substantial fraud one way or the other.

In another one of the 65 cases,  the judge actually asked why the plaintiff  could not have filed suit before the election regarding some alleged problem in the way the voting process was likely to be administered.  “Too late now” the judge said, in effect.  Case dismissed.  One judge actually asserted that any complaints about the legitimate certification of the election (in Georgia)  were all now “moot” since “the election results… had already been certified.”  But the issue of “certification legitimacy” was the very concept that the plaintiffs were challenging! Unbelievable.

Is The American Pendulum Swinging Back To Reason? Maybe, But It Will Be A Long Fight – Alt-Market.us

Posted by M. C. on November 22, 2022

Is our cultural pendulum swinging back to reason? Yes, I see signs of it everywhere, but the fight ahead is going to be long and arduous. It’s not just the globalists that we have to contend with, it’s the woke activists and useful idiots within our population that need to be diminished.

https://alt-market.us/is-the-american-pendulum-swinging-back-to-reason-maybe-but-it-will-be-a-long-fight/

It should be considered an embarrassment for the states and districts involved, but the 2022 midterm elections are still being counted as I write this. In some cases, ballot drop boxes, mail-in ballots and “malfunctioning” voting machines have created a suspicious fog of uncertainty, and the uncertainty always seems to work in the favor of the political left.

Needless to say, some kind of change needs to happen – The majority of Americans are aware that ongoing trends of national deconstruction cannot be allowed to continue. Even the people that refrain from voting are watching the elections, just to see if the momentum of the country has shifted even a little. And, many people who tend to refrain are on the independent/libertarian side of things.

Times change and circumstances evolve, even if some people are too bitter or jaded to see it. The old guard Neocons trained in the Chicago school by Leo Strauss along with the acolytes of Irving Kristol are losing favor among conservative voters and many are dying out. The era of Bush family politics is going extinct; they were never conservative anyway.

What is left behind is a kind of philosophical stew – A mixture of libertarians, independents, Republicans and patriots that don’t necessarily affiliate with every aspect of the GOP but they will vote for a candidate with a strong stance against the woke propaganda and globalism of the political left. That’s what they are looking for.

For example, Ron DeSantis and his epic win in Florida shows us that the GOP is now being forced to address real conservative issues and concerns, whether they like it or not. Because if they want to win big like DeSantis they will have to start promoting the same policies and arguments as DeSantis. Republican candidates that don’t will not succeed, at least nowhere near the same level.

Many people assume that Trump was the impetus for this new wave of conservatives which has abandoned the Neocon coup. But in reality, the wave started at least a decade ago and we are only now beginning to see the results. Trump rode the wave, he didn’t create it.

Despite the claims of the mainstream media, there was indeed a red wave this year, but at the state level and in terms more subtle.

I consider keeping my own state red a matter of urgency. Montana conservatives recently witnessed what happens when we get lazy about voting leftists out of power. Our governor at the beginning of the covid event was Steve Bullock, a Democrat posing as a “middle of the road” pro-gun, pro-freedom guy. But when the federal government’s calls for mandates hit, Bullock followed right along with all other blue state politicians in trying to enforce unconstitutional restrictions and was incredibly malicious towards groups questioning such policies.

In 2020, we booted him out of office and most Democrats along with him. We learned our lesson – Keep the state red because in the event of crisis these people will exploit the situation to steal power and assert dominance.

Resisting Tyranny, Colonial Style | The Libertarian Institute

Posted by M. C. on November 22, 2022

The strategy was powerful and effective. The colonists built and maintained local support by keeping their principles front and center. But they didn’t relay on words alone. They pushed back forcefully against British tyranny and made it increasingly difficult for the Crown to enforce its will.

https://libertarianinstitute.org/articles/resisting-tyranny-colonial-style/

by Michael Maharrey

As the British put increased pressure on the American colonists in an effort to force them into submission, the colonists backed up their increasingly forceful rhetoric with concrete actions to undermine British authority.

The colonists began perfecting this formula after the passage of the Stamp Act in 1765. Resistance started with protests. Patrick Henry drafted a series of resolutions. In the seventh, He asserted, “the Inhabitants of this Colony, are not bound to yield Obedience to any Law or Ordinance whatever,” outside of those passed by the colonial assemblies.

Other prominent colonists added their voices to the protest. John Dickinson wrote, “IF you comply with the Act by using Stamped Papers, you fix, you rivet perpetual Chains upon your unhappy Country. You unnecessarily, voluntarily establish the detestable Precedent, which those who have forged your Fetters ardently wish for, to varnish the future Exercise of this new claimed Authority.”

But it didn’t end with resolutions. Patriots throughout the 13 colonists blocked the distribution of stamped paper, forced stamp agents to resign, and effectively made that act impossible to enforce. Ultimately, mass resistance and noncompliance forced Parliament to repeal the hated law.

Historian Dave Benner summed up colonial resistance this way.

“Rather than hoping the next election will produce preferable results or waiting for the courts to weigh in on controversial law, the patriots took a fierce stand against an odious law. In doing so, they inspired tireless masses to their cause, brought about a reversal of policy without representation in Parliament, and changed the world as we know it.”

While the colonists effectively nullified the Stamp Act, it didn’t end British efforts to maintain control over the colonies. Tensions continued to grow and reached another boiling point with the Boston Tea Party.

To punish the colonies, particularly Massachusetts, the Parliament passed a series of acts together known as the “Coercive Acts.” These included the Boston Port Act closing the Boston Port, the Massachusetts Government act stripping virtually all authority from the colonial government, the Administration of Justice Act stripping authority from local courts and authorizing trials to be held in Great Britain instead of Massachusetts, and the Quartering Act allowing British troops to take over private buildings.

Even before the Tea Party, the colonists had formed local political bodies known as committees of correspondence in response to increasing tensions with the British government. These representative organizations formed an underground communications network to promote the patriot cause and coordinate political action.

Local  Committees of Correspondence kicked off resistance by passing resolutions opposing the Coercive Acts. The best-known was the Suffolk Resolves, adopted on Sept. 9 by delegates at the Suffolk County (Massachusetts) Convention of the Committees of Correspondence. This local protest against the “Coercive Acts” called for non-cooperation with British authorities and for direct action to oppose what it condemned as illegitimate and unconstitutional acts by Parliament.

A strong spirit of noncooperation ran through the resolves. The resolutions declared that given the British government was acting contrary to the constitution, the colonists were under no obligation to obey these illegitimate acts.

No obedience is due from this province to either or any part of the acts above-mentioned, but that they be rejected as the attempts of a wicked administration to enslave America.”

Other counties adopted similar resolutions.

Mind Control- During World War II, various government around the world implemented techniques of mental confusion and manipulation to get enemy combatants to cooperate, and often times betray their counties – Site Title

Mind Control Brain Washing has been popularized by movies such as the Manchurian Candidate, which depicts a person whose behavior can be completely controlled as a result of extensive psychological manipulation through long hours of training and experimentation. The ability to create a spy who becomes a complete zombie who loses all sense of himself may or may not be exaggerated, as we are not truly privy to the government’s capabilities in this regard. But on a basic level, brain washing and mind control are real, with real world effects. They have been used extensively, especially by groups such as cults and governments around the world.

It’s our values in a democracy to execute POWs.

RT:

The Russian embassy in Washington has said that the US is enabling Ukrainian “neo-Nazis” to act with impunity by downplaying evidence of their atrocities, adding that US officials risk blowback from the policy, it warned.

The statement released on Monday came in response to comments made by Beth Van Schaack, the US ambassador-at-large for global criminal justice, about videos of the summary execution of Russian soldiers captured by Ukrainian troops.

A clip apparently shows the Russians surrendering and lying down on the ground. Another shows what looks like a Russian soldier appearing at the scene and discharging his firearm. The final clip is of Russian troops lying on the ground in pools of blood, apparently dead from gunshots to the head.

Ukraine claims that the videos show a false surrender by the Russians, with the intention of taking their captors by surprise.

Oh, right – they were disarmed, lying face-down on the ground, but planning to pop up, grab guns, and shoot the Ukraine people. The Ukraines were defending themselves from people with no guns lying face down on the ground.

Five Trillion Dollars Is Not Enough – The Future of Freedom Foundation

Posted by M. C. on November 22, 2022

According to a new report from the nonpartisan Tax Policy Center, 57 percent of U.S. households paid no federal income tax in 2021.

https://www.fff.org/explore-freedom/article/five-trillion-dollars-is-not-enough/

The federal government seized from the American people almost $5 trillion ($4.896119 trillion) in fiscal year 2022 (Oct. 1, 2021 through Sept. 30, 2022), according to The Monthly Treasury Statement of Receipts and Outlays of the United States Government (MTS), published by the Bureau of the Fiscal Service. The federal budget has never decreased when Republicans had control of the government.
[Click to Tweet]

But this was still not enough to quench Uncle Sam’s huge appetite for spending money. During the same period of time, the federal government spent $6.271508 trillion, resulting in a budget deficit of $1.375389 trillion and a national debt that increased to over $31 trillion. The growth in federal spending over the past 20 years is mind-boggling considering that the federal budget did not even reach $2 trillion until fiscal year 2002.

Where did all that the money come from that Congress burned through in just a year? It came from eight sources: individual income tax, corporate income tax, social insurance and retirement receipts (employment and general retirement, unemployment insurance, other retirement), excise taxes, customs duties, estate and gift taxes, miscellaneous receipts, and borrowing.

At $2.632145 trillion, the largest category is the individual income tax. But not all individuals pay income tax. According to a new report from the nonpartisan Tax Policy Center, 57 percent of U.S. households paid no federal income tax in 2021. The corporate income tax gave the federal government another $424.865 billion. Social insurance and retirement taxes amounted to $1.483526 trillion. Excise taxes, on things like airline tickets, fuel, tires, tobacco, and alcohol, brought in $87.726 billion. Customs duties came to $99.908 billion. So much for free trade. Estate and gift taxes amounted to $32.550 billion. Miscellaneous receipts (God only knows what that includes) contributed another $135.397 billion. The rest of the money that was spent was borrowed. This, combined with the borrowing of all the previous years, resulted in interest payments of $717.611 billion during fiscal year 2022.

This is an obscene amount of money. Liberals like to complain about the salaries of CEOs and professional athletes being too high, but I have never heard any of them complain about the amount of money that Uncle Sam takes in. At least CEOs and professional athletes do something productive to earn their money.

What is it that the federal government spends so much money on? The amount of money that it costs the federal government to repair roads and bridges; manage national parks and federal lands; maintain Air Force One; cool and heat federal buildings; operate federal courts and prisons; monitor the weather; collect economic statistics; keep satellites in the air; operate the Smithsonian Institution; and pay the salaries of members of Congress and their staffs is less than insignificant when compared to the federal budget as a whole.

There are two types of federal spending: mandatory and discretionary.
