Price Controls: The Government’s “New” Solution to Inflation?

Posted by M. C. on January 20, 2022

So the experts, CNN, think we should look at price controls.

If wage and price controls kick in you will know we are really in trouble.

https://www.theorganicprepper.com/price-controls/

Aden Tate

There have been a number of news headlines over the course of the past year that I’ve personally found wildly disturbing.

However, it is this one in particular from CNN that I’ve found to be of particular note. It’s titled, “Should the government control the price of food and gas?

Throughout the piece, author Charles Riley looks into the history of price controls both within the past 100 years and of more recent note as well. The basic question behind the article is this: because of rampant inflation “should governments consider setting the price of essential goods?”

While I (sometimes) believe that there is no such thing as a stupid question, the very idea that this notion is being presented to the public is something which I find concerning. I don’t think it’s any secret to regular readers of The Organic Prepper what the position of the mainstream media (MSM) is on these issues. Though a question is being asked, are we ignorant of what the hoped for answer is?

Riley’s article starts off by examining whether or not there is precedence for price fixing in history.

Is there precedence for price-fixing in history? Absolutely.

As Riley points out,

  • “The German capital of Berlin, for example, has sought to limit how much rent landlords can charge tenants.”
  • “In the United Kingdom, regulators limit how much consumers can be charged for energy and some types of rail fares.”
  • “As elections approached late last year in Argentina and annual inflation topped 50%, the government froze the price of over 1000 household goods.”
  • “Last week, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said he would cut the price of flour, sugar, sunflower oil, milk, pork leg, and chicken breast ahead of a national election…”

Let’s look at each of these examples in turn, however.

  • Aside from having a history of totalitarianism, Germany is once more demonstrating that this is where it is headed for in the future as well. Price controls are a part of this.
  • The United Kingdom has never been friendly to freedom (read American history).
  • Jose here at The Organic Prepper has vividly captured what it is like to live in South America right now, where weight loss due to hunger has become the norm.
  • All Viktor Orban has done is demonstrate he’s willing to steal from others in order to win power for himself. Did you notice he did this right before an election?

Just because there is precedence for something, does not mean that it is a good idea. Consider slavery, cannibalism, human sacrifice, or the like. Have they all been practiced in the past? Yes. But does that mean they were good ideas?

Nope.

Precedence does not equal morality.

Price controls on the farmer (or anyone else) will not work.

Destroying the Supply Chain One Mandate at a Time | Armstrong Economics

Posted by M. C. on January 20, 2022

Only 55% of US truck drivers are currently vaccinated; 9% plan to take the vaccine, but 36% refuse. The Supreme Court’s ruling to end Biden’s vaccine mandate for private corporations did not expand to border laws.

Posted Jan 19, 2022 by Martin Armstrong

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) initially announced that it was eliminating vaccine requirements for truck drivers amid a severe supply and labor shortage. Health Minister Jean-Yves Duclos decided that contributing to inflation by reversing the order was the “right thing to do,” and now unvaccinated truck drivers have “a right of return” but must quarantine for 14 days. So, although Canada cannot ban their citizens from re-entering the country, they can force drivers to submit to tests and quarantines.

Truck drivers gathered at the US/Manitoba on Monday to protest the absurd laws (see image above). Numerous truckers and advocates have stated that a two-week quarantine would ruin their finances and potentially cause smaller trucking companies to go under as it will lead to a labor shortage.

The United States has decided to contribute to the supply chain crisis by implementing a vaccine mandate for truckers as well. As of January 22, all drivers entering from Mexico or Canada must be fully vaccinated. As mentioned in an earlier post, over two-thirds or C$650 billion ($511 billion) of trade between Canada and the US occurs via road, and any disturbance would have significant consequences. The Canadian Trucking Alliance (CTA) estimates that the vaccine mandate will force up to 10% (16,000) of Canadian truckers off the road. “There isn’t one aspect of the supply chain that won’t be impacted,” warned CTA President Stephen Laskowski.

Mexico’s drivers will be less affected by this law as the US typically does not allow trucks to pass the border.

Only 55% of US truck drivers are currently vaccinated; 9% plan to take the vaccine, but 36% refuse. The Supreme Court’s ruling to end Biden’s vaccine mandate for private corporations did not expand to border laws. The US Department of Homeland Security is already warning travelers to expect border crossing delays once this mandate goes into effect. This will have a negative chain reaction — driver shortages will lead to supply shortages, which will lead to higher prices for both businesses and consumers. If these mandates continue, expect the supply chain crisis to continue as well.

Narrative Collapse! From England To Israel, Governments Race To Abandon Vaccine Passports!

Posted by M. C. on January 19, 2022

Facing a fight for his political life, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has announced an abrupt end to England’s vaccine passport, mask mandates including in schools, and work-from-home orders as the Omicron “scare” fizzles. In Israel, Finance Minister Avigdor Liberman is demanding an end to that country’s vax pass. The bricks are falling from this Berlin Wall. Also today: New footage of Ashli Babbitt will NOT please the Jan 6th Committee and a new study out of Brazil will not please Fauci.

The Last Days of the Covidian Cult

Posted by M. C. on January 19, 2022

I don’t know what is going to happen. I’m not an oracle. I’m just a satirist. But we are getting dangerously close to the point where GloboCap will need to go full-blown fascist if they want to finish what they started. If that happens, things are going to get very ugly. I know, things are already ugly, but I’m talking a whole different kind of ugly. Think Jonestown, or Hitler’s final days in the bunker, or the last few months of the Manson Family.

http://ronpaulinstitute.org/archives/featured-articles/2022/january/19/the-last-days-of-the-covidian-cult/

Written by C.J. Hopkins

This isn’t going to be pretty, folks. The downfall of a death cult rarely is. There is going to be wailing and gnashing of teeth, incoherent fanatical jabbering, mass deleting of embarrassing tweets. There’s going to be a veritable tsunami of desperate rationalizing, strenuous denying, shameless blame-shifting, and other forms of ass-covering, as suddenly former Covidian Cult members make a last-minute break for the jungle before the fully-vaxxed-and-boosted “Safe and Effective Kool-Aid” servers get to them.

Yes, that’s right, as I’m sure you’ve noticed, the official Covid narrative is finally falling apart, or is being hastily disassembled, or historically revised, right before our eyes. The “experts” and “authorities” are finally acknowledging that the “Covid deaths” and “hospitalization” statistics are artificially inflated and totally unreliable(which they have been from the very beginning), and they are admitting that their miracle “vaccines” don’t work(unless you change the definition of the word “vaccine”), and that they have killed a few peopleor maybe more than a few people, and that lockdowns were probably “a serious mistake.”

I am not going to bother with further citations. You can surf the Internet as well as I can. The point is, the “Apocalyptic Pandemic” PSYOP has reached its expiration date. After almost two years of mass hysteria over a virus that causes mild-to-moderate common-cold or flu-like symptoms (or absolutely no symptoms whatsoever) in about 95% of the infected and the overall infection fatality rate of which is approximately 0.1% to 0.5%, people’s nerves are shot. We are all exhausted. Even the Covidian cultists are exhausted. And they are starting to abandon the cult en masse.

It was always mostly just a matter of time. As Klaus Schwab said, “the pandemic represent[ed] a rare but narrow window of opportunity to reflect, reimagine, and reset our world.”

It isn’t over, but that window is closing, and our world has not been “reimagined” and “reset,” not irrevocably, not just yet. Clearly, GloboCap underestimated the potential resistance to the Great Reset, and the time it would take to crush that resistance. And now the clock is running down, and the resistance isn’t crushed … on the contrary, it is growing. And there is nothing GloboCap can do to stop it, other than go openly totalitarian, which it can’t, as that would be suicidal. As I noted in a recent column:

New Normal totalitarianism — and any global-capitalist form of totalitarianism — cannot display itself as totalitarianism, or even authoritarianism. It cannot acknowledge its political nature. In order to exist, it must not exist. Above all, it must erase its violence (the violence that all politics ultimately comes down to) and appear to us as an essentially beneficent response to a legitimate ‘global health crisis’ …

The simulated “global health crisis” is, for all intents and purposes, over. Which means that GloboCap has screwed the pooch. The thing is, if you intend to keep the masses whipped up into a mindless frenzy of anus-puckering paranoia over an “apocalyptic global pandemic,” at some point, you have to produce an actual apocalyptic global pandemic. Faked statistics and propaganda will carry you for a while, but eventually people are going to need to experience something at least resembling an actual devastating worldwide plague, in reality, not just on their phones and TVs.

Also, GloboCap seriously overplayed their hand with the miracle “vaccines.” Covidian cultists really believed that the “vaccines” would protect them from infection. Epidemiology experts like Rachel Maddow assured them that they would:

‘Now we know that the vaccines work well enough that the virus stops with every vaccinated person,’ Maddow said on her show the evening of March 29, 2021. ‘A vaccinated person gets exposed to the virus, the virus does not infect them, the virus cannot then use that person to go anywhere else,” she added with a shrug. “It cannot use a vaccinated person as a host to go get more people.’

And now they are all sick with … well, a cold, basically, or are “asymptomatically infected,” or whatever. And they are looking at a future in which they will have to submit to “vaccinations” and “boosters” every three or four months to keep their “compliance certificates” current, in order to be allowed to hold a job, attend a school, or eat at a restaurant, which, OK, hardcore cultists are fine with, but there are millions of people who have been complying, not because they are delusional fanatics who would wrap their children’s heads in cellophane if Anthony Fauci ordered them to, but purely out of “solidarity,” or convenience, or herd instinct, or … you know, cowardice.

Israel Confirms Vaccine Fail Against Omicron: All Vaccine Mandates Must End Now – LewRockwell LewRockwell.com

Posted by M. C. on January 19, 2022

We also ask that all Covid passports schemes be revoked. Covid health passes do not serve any legitimate purpose since the vaccinated are not protected against infection, and, in fact, the data show that they are getting infected more readily than their unvaccinated counterparts. For some reason, Omicron seems to target the vaccinated especially.

https://www.lewrockwell.com/2022/01/vasko-kohlmayer/israel-confirms-vaccine-fail-against-omicron-all-vaccine-mandates-must-end-now/

By Vasko Kohlmayer

“The bottom line is that the vaccine is excellent against the Alpha and Delta [variants], for Omicron it’s not good enough” said Prof. Gili Regev-Yochay who led an Israeli experiment of assessing the effectives of the vaccine against corona’s latest variant.

Do you realize what this implies?

Given the fact that the vaccines do not work against Omicron and that Omicron is now the globally dominant Covid strain, it makes no logical or medical sense to continue with vaccinating and boostering at this time.

After all, why would anyone in their right mind needlessly inject people with failed protections that carry a risk of severe adverse reactions.

At this point we are out of vaccine options. No vaccine that is currently at our disposal can protect people from contracting and transmitting Omicron infection or reduce the severity of its symptoms.

We have seen that the opposite is actually the case: the vaccinated and the boostered are contracting omicron at higher rates than the unvaccinated.

This means that there is nothing we can do by way of vaccinal intervention with the shots that are available to us at the moment.

Here is the reality of our situation: We have come – at least for now – to the end of the vaccine road as far as Covid-19 is concerned. At this time, we simply possess no effective vaccine with which to tackle this disease.

This may change in the future, but for now this is the reality of our situation, and it is imperative that we clearly grasp and accept it so that we do not inflict any unnecessary injury or death.

Since the vaccines are ineffective against the prevailing variant, all Covid injectioneering has to stop. To give out any more shots of these vaccines – which we know do not work – is senseless and medically irresponsible.

Continuing vaccination under current circumstances can bring no benefit and will only result in needless harm. To pointlessly expose healthy people to potential injury would constitute medical malfeasance.

We, therefore, call upon health authorities, politicians, employers and schools to follow science and common sense.

The science and common sense clearly show that all vaccine and booster mandates need to be suspended.

We ask that this be done immediately and without delay.

All throughout this pandemic we have been told by our politicians and health officials to follow the science. It is time for them to finally live up to their own teaching.

We ask them to do what is right in this situation: End all vaccine mandates and health pass schemes.

In the wake of the vaccinal failure, doing anything other would be medically negligent and scientifically unjustifiable.

Behavioral control – by Robert W Malone MD, MS

Posted by M. C. on January 19, 2022

https://rwmalonemd.substack.com/p/behavioral-control

Robert W Malone MD, MS

Remember those Johns Hopkins Pandemic war games that occurred over the span of decades? Where the outcome usually ended in a need to control the populace, by which behavioral modification techniques are used to enforce cooperation from the populace.

Right now, one can wander over to Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security and see their current projects include an analysis of “anti-misinformation actions’“, which they call the Environment of Misinformation.

World leaders, governments, big media, big pharma and tech giants are busy planning out the next pandemic response. So, maybe it is time for those of us who believe there is a better way to live than to be controlled, to plan out responses to all these draconian measures. As well as to begin to develop counter measures to a bio-threat that do not use censorship, propaganda, mandates and behavioral modification techniques. You know, the old fashioned way where the government relies on people to use their own critical thinking skills to assess what is best for themselves and their families, after getting all the information available.

So, let’s climb aboard and let’s have a think about how “we” are being controlled, nudged, censored and lied to during this pandemic, and to be aware that governments are already planning how to control us better in the next.

Definition: psyops (From the US Department of Defense)

“Psyops are the use of propaganda and psychological tactics to influence emotions and behaviors.”

The US Department of Defense (DOD) 2004 and 2010 Counterinsurgency Operations Reports define “psyops” as the following:

“The mission of psychological Operations (psyops) is to influence the behavior of foreign target audiences to support US national objectives. A psyop accomplishes this by conveying selected information and advising on actions that influence the emotions, motives, objective reasoning, and ultimately the behavior of foreign audiences. Behavioral change is at the root of the psyop mission.”

Read that last sentence again. Behavioral change is at the root of the psyop mission.” Sound familiar?

At the heart of a psyops operations are behavioral tools or mind control techniques such as hypnosis, mass formation, censorship, security theater, use of fear to drive anxiety and propaganda.

How does our military use psyops?

“DELIBERATELY DECEIVE

Military deception missions use psychological warfare to deliberately mislead enemy forces during a combat situation.

INFLUENCE WITH INFORMATION

Military Information Support Operations (MISO) missions involve sharing specific information to foreign audiences to influence the emotions, motives, reasoning, and behavior of foreign governments and citizens. This can include cyber warfare and advanced communication techniques across all forms of media.

ADVISE GOVERNMENTS

Interagency and government support missions shape and influence foreign decision making and behaviors in support of United States’ objectives.

PROVIDE COMMUNICATIONS FOR RESCUE EFFORTS

Civil Authorities Information Support (CAIS) missions aid civilian populations during disaster relief situations by sharing critical information to support the rescue effort.

What is the history of Army Psychological Operations?

Founded during World War I to devastate opposing troops’ morale, the PSYOPS unit has played a critical role in World War II, the Vietnam War, and recent operations in Afghanistan and Iraq, where unconventional warfare provided by PSYOPS has been crucial to national security.”

What is nudging?

“A nudge is any attempt at influencing people’s judgment, choice or behavior in a predictable way that is motivated because of cognitive boundaries, biases, routines, and habits in individual and social decision-making posing barriers for people to perform rationally in their own self-declared interests, and which works by making use of those boundaries, biases, routines, and habits as integral parts of such attempts.”

And now – for the fly in the toilet…

Big Pharma CEO Blows a Hole in Vaccine Mandates – American Thinker

Posted by M. C. on January 19, 2022

Yet the left keeps pushing COVID vaccine mandates, despite the Pfizer CEO, CDC Director, and the US Supreme Court saying, perhaps in a roundabout way, that they are of no benefit. Hopefully, the Supreme Court’s trend continues, with a thoughtful analysis of our public measures, following the science rather than simply saying “do this because I say so.”

https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2022/01/big_pharma_ceo_blows_a_hole_in_vaccine_mandates.html

Brian C. Joondeph, M.D.

Vaccine mandates are one of many stifling measures brought on by the ongoing COVID pandemic, a consequence of those trying to “follow the science” and doing anything but or of government and bureaucrat officials using the opportunity to flex their authoritarian muscles. Whether they serve a useful societal function is an open question.

The CDC website cites a book chapter by research scholars Kevin Malone and Alan Hinman that describes vaccine mandates as a means of “drastically reducing infectious diseases in the United States.” Mandates present a challenge “when societal interest conflicts with the individual’s interest.” With vaccine mandates, there is the assumption that “Increased immunization rates result in significantly decreased risk for disease.”

According to the chapter,

Although no remaining unimmunized individual can be said to be free of risk from the infectious disease, the herd effect generated from high immunization rates significantly reduces the risk for disease for those individuals. Additional benefit is conferred on the unimmunized person because avoidance of the vaccine avoids the risk for any adverse reactions associated with the vaccine. As disease rates drop, the risks associated with the vaccine come even more to the fore, providing further incentive to avoid immunization. Thus, when an individual in this common chooses to go unimmunized, it only minimally increases the risk of illness for that individual, while conferring on that person the benefit of avoiding the risk of vaccine induced side effects.

Herd immunity, a term that can get one banned from social media and polite society, is the key. Both vaccines and natural infection can achieve herd immunity. Once herd immunity is reached, the risk-benefit ratio pivots from less benefit for every last person being vaccinated to more risk from vaccine adverse effects. This is the logical way infectious diseases have been approached in the past, until COVID apparently changed relatively settled science regarding vaccines, masks, distancing, and mandates.

The above premise assumes that the vaccine in question prevents contracting and transmitting the underlying infectious disease. Or as the chapter describes, “An important characteristic of most vaccines is that they provide both individual and community protection.”

Are the COVID vaccines providing both individual and community protection? If they are, then a case may be made for vaccine mandates although that is debatable. If not, then such mandates make no sense.

An excellent person to ask is Albert Bourla, the CEO of Pfizer, the largest COVID vaccine maker. In a recent Yahoo Finance interview, Bourla let the cat out of the vaccine bag,

And we know that the two doses of the vaccine offer very limited protection, if any. The three doses, with the booster, they offer reasonable protection against hospitalization and deaths—and, again, that’s, I think, very good—and less protection against the infection.

recommended by LowerMyBillsOwe Under $548k? Use A Gov GSEs Mortgage Relief Program To RefiFind out more

“Limited protection if any,” is not a strong endorsement. It’s a polite way of saying two doses of the vaccine don’t work as previously described and promised. And with a booster, the protection becomes “reasonable.” He didn’t say robust or excellent, only reasonable, meaning that there is limited benefit. And it’s a benefit to the individual, not to other people.

An umbrella provides “limited protection if any” in a hurricane and a raincoat offers “reasonable” protection but, in both cases, you will get soaked and blown around.

YouTube screen grab.

I must add the standard and necessary disclaimer that I am not anti-vaccine, having been personally fully vaccinated. Nor am I offering medical advice, only an analysis of this recent news item. Any vaccine decisions should be between you and your physician based on a thoughtful analysis of risks and benefits, as is standard for any medical intervention.

When Big Pharma doesn’t believe its own spin anymore, though, why should anyone else?

Boiling the Frog – Doug Casey’s International Man

Posted by M. C. on January 19, 2022

https://internationalman.com/articles/boiling-the-frog/

by Jeff Thomas

boiling the frog

“There was, of course, no way of knowing whether you were being watched at any given moment. How often, or on what system, The Thought Police plugged in on any individual wire was guesswork. It was even conceivable that they watched everybody all the time. But at any rate, they could plug in your wire whenever they wanted to. You had to live – did live, from habit that became instinct – in the assumption that every sound you made was overheard, and, except in darkness, every move was scrutinized.”

The above quote is from “1984,” by George Orwell. The now-famous date that Orwell chose was actually of no real significance. He simply reversed the last two digits of the year in which he wrote the book, 1948. Orwell concerned himself less with timeline than with concept. And that concept has been chillingly accurate in its foresight.

The quote above should ring alarm bells in today’s world, particularly for those who live in the US, as the US government leads the world in the development of surveillance of its people.

Today, the US government is in the process of completing a massive electronic surveillance network that encompasses all telephone calls, all computer-driven communication, and all banking transactions. Quite a tribute to Orwell’s Big Brother.

We have in the past predicted that the surveillance net will eventually expand to include all monetary transactions by US residents (possibly through the replacement of the paper dollar by an electronic money system), allowing the US government to ultimately have knowledge of every aspect of the economic activities of US residents and, therefore, control over those activities.

The excuse given for such surveillance has been “to protect America from terrorism.” This notion is a wonderful invention, as terrorism can be imagined to be small or large and can occur at anytime, anywhere in the country. Further, if there are no actual occurrences, the government can create false flag incidents as easily and as often as they are needed.

The bogeyman of “terrorism” is particularly useful, as terrorism is faceless. No invasion is necessary. A terrorist can be anyoneeven your next door neighbour and, indeed, the government computers are programmed to pay especially close heed to specific words and phrases, such as “freedom” or “patriotism.” Should your next door neighbour use such words in his emails, he is more likely to be flagged.

The degree of surveillance that Orwell described in 1984 has not yet been reached, but it is not far off. Most importantly, though, the most essential aspect of its implementation has already been overcomethe aspect of popular acceptance. The American people, in the main, have successfully been sold the concept that it is necessary in order to keep Americans “safe from terrorism.”

With this green light, the US government is moving rapidly toward the completion of the implementation of full surveillance.

Texas synagogue gunman was known to British intelligence: Report

Posted by M. C. on January 19, 2022

If only Akram had taken his mask off in the airplane that MI5 permitted him to board he would have been arrested for something serious.

MI5 investigated Malik Faisal Akram in 2020 but he was no longer considered a risk at the time of the attack, BBC says.

The suspected gunman who took four people hostage at a Texas synagogue was known to the United Kingdom’s domestic intelligence service, the BBC has reported.

Frank Gardner, the British broadcaster’s security correspondent, said on Tuesday that MI5 was aware of Malik Faisal Akram, who they reportedly investigated in 2020 as a “subject of interest”.

At the time Akram flew to the United States, he was no longer considered a risk, Gardner said in a tweet.

Malik Faisal Akram the #texassynagogue hostage-taker, was known to MI5 and was investigated in 2020. He was assessed to be no longer a risk at the time he flew to US at New Year.

— Frank Gardner (@FrankRGardner) January 18, 2022

Akram, a 44-year-old British national from Blackburn, a northern English town, was shot dead on Saturday after an hours-long standoff with police at the Congregation Beth Israel synagogue, near Fort Worth.

Authorities have declined to say who shot him, saying the case was still under investigation. They have not said how or when Akram entered the US, but reports citing unnamed police sources suggest he arrived in the country via New York’s JFK International Airport about two weeks ago.

The four people he is alleged to have held hostage were eventually freed, unharmed, after the ordeal that started after 11am (17:00 GMT) local time and concluded at about 9pm (03:00 GMT).

The FBI has launched an investigation.

US President Joe Biden, who labelled the attack an “act of terror”, said Akram was believed to have bought the weapons used in the incident “on the street” after arriving from the UK.

British police said “counterterrorism” officers had arrested two teenagers on Sunday in connection with the case, though no charges against the pair have been announced yet.

‘There was nothing we could have done’

On Sunday, Akram’s brother Gulbar said his sibling was mentally unwell.

During the standoff, Akram’s relatives were at Blackburn police station liaising with Faisal, the negotiators, and the FBI.
