CIA, FBI launch manhunt for leaker who gave top-secret documents to WikiLeaks

“It is time to call out WikiLeaks for what it really is: A non-state hostile intelligence service often abetted by state actors like Russia,” he said.

The worst, the unthinkable, the most horrible has happened. The truth has come out.

Apparently even at least one of the CIA’s own employees cannot stomach what it does. Read the rest of this entry »

Trump’s Bombing of Syria: Continuation of a Policy Which Started Only 3 Years After Syria Became an Independent Nation … When Trump Was 2 Years Old

Posted by M. C. on April 12, 2017

http://www.washingtonsblog.com/2017/04/trumps-bombing-syria-simply.html

As early as 1949, this newly independent Arab republic was an important staging ground for the CIA’s earliest experiments in covert action.

The CIA secretly encouraged a right-wing military coup in 1949.

The reason the U.S. initiated the coup? Little explains:

In late 1945, the Arabian American Oil Company (ARAMCO) announced plans to construct the Trans-Arabian Pipe Line (TAPLINE) from Saudi Arabia to the Mediterra- nean. With U.S. help, ARAMCO secured rights-of-way from Lebanon, Jordan and Saudi Arabia. The Syrian right-of-way was stalled in parliament.

In other words, Syria was the sole holdout for the lucrative oil pipeline.

(Indeed, the CIA has carried out this type of covert action right from the start.)

Typical Washington efficiency.  A 70 year long execution.

1983 CIA Doc Reveals Plot – LewRockwell

Posted by M. C. on April 12, 2017

https://lewrockwell.com/2017/04/tyler-durden/1983-cia-doc-reveals-plot/

Prophetically foreshadowing the current crisis (and apparent action plan), leaked CIA documents from the reign of Bashar al-Assad’s father in the 1980s show a Washington Deep State plan coalescing to “bring real muscle to bear against Syria,” toppling its leader (in favor of one amenable to US demands) , severing ties with Russia (its primary arms dealer), and paving the way for an oil and gas pipeline of Washington’s choosing.
Same old story…Oil. Same old partner…Saudi Arabia money men for Washington, oil companies and the 9/11 hijackers.

Americans Hardly Knew Any Israeli Secrets

Posted by M. C. on April 11, 2017

http://www.haaretz.com/israel-news/1.782616

According to a legend believed by the public and even in the government’s security branches, the Americans know – or can know – everything about Israel.

But a survey of the materials – much more than a sampling, but still partial – reveals the big CIA-Israeli secret: they knew hardly any secrets. A lot of gossip, false ideas, an analysis of political and social trends on the level of open journalism, the Knesset cafeteria or embassy telegrams.

That sums up our relationship with Israel.  We give, they take. Washington seems very happy being Israel’s cabana boy.

Remember the Liberty.

Cyber Firm Rewrites Part of Disputed Russian Hacking Report

Posted by M. C. on March 29, 2017

http://www.voanews.com/a/cyber-firm-rewrites-part-disputed-russian-hacking-report/3781411.html

U.S. cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike has revised and retracted statements it used to buttress claims of Russian hacking during last year’s American presidential election campaign. The shift followed a VOA report that the company misrepresented data published by an influential British think tank.

VOA reported Tuesday that the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), which publishes an annual reference estimating the strength of world armed forces, disavowed the CrowdStrike report and said it had never been contacted by the company. Read the rest of this entry »

oftwominds-Charles Hugh Smith: The Deep State’s Dominant Narratives and Authority Are Crumbling

Posted by M. C. on March 27, 2017

http://charleshughsmith.blogspot.rs/2017/03/the-deep-states-dominant-narratives-and.html

Amusingly, now that “Progressives” have prostituted themselves to the Security Agencies and the Neocons/Neoliberals, they are busy denying the Deep State exists. For example, There is No Deep State (The New Yorker).

In this risible view, there is no Deep State “conspiracy” (the media’s favorite term of dismissal/ridicule), just a bunch of “good German” bureaucrats industriously doing the Empire’s essential work of undermining democracies that happen not to prostrate themselves at the feet of the Empire, murdering various civilians via drone strikes, surveilling the U.S. populace, planting bugs in new iPhones, issuing fake news while denouncing anything that questions the dominant narratives as “fake news,” arranging sweetheart deals with dictators and corporations, and so on. Mattis: US Troops Need to Stay in Iraq for ‘Years’ — News from Antiwar.com

Posted by M. C. on March 26, 2017

http://news.antiwar.com/2017/03/24/mattis-us-troops-need-to-stay-in-iraq-for-years/

I have a solution for the US war in Iraq. Stop funding Saudi Arabia, Al Qaeda and Israel. Get the hell out.

Alternatively jump in the TARDIS and go back to 1947 or there abouts, before the CIA, and make the Dulles brothers become philatelists.

How long can supposedly intelligent people rationalize beating this long dead horse? How long will the sheeple tolerate it.

Shucks, I just remember why we are still there. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Why Does Nation-Building Fail? – LewRockwell

Posted by M. C. on March 24, 2017

https://lewrockwell.com/2017/03/michael-s-rozeff/nation-building-fail/

Nation-building usually fails. It failed in at least 73% of cases in a study by James L. Payne that examined 51 instances of attempted nation-building in the past 150 years or so. This included 24 U.S. attempts and 27 British attempts. A study of 12 cases of U.S. interventions produced a similar finding: 4 success and 8 failures.
Our nation builders for the most part consists of the CIA and special forces. That should tell us something.

What the New CIA Leaks Tell Us About the U.S. Government

Posted by M. C. on March 20, 2017

By Alice Salles
Anti Media

WikiLeaks may have finally done what many small and anti-government advocates have only dreamed of. They exposed the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) for what it is: a bloated government bureaucracy that has grown much too large to be restrained.

According to the document dump released by Julian Assange’s whistleblower hub, this list of highly confidential information regarding the CIA emerged from the agency’s Center For Cyber Intelligence in Langley, revealing details on the agency’s “global covert hacking program.”

The CIA’s hacking effort has been so powerful and effective, the leaks show, that it includes the weaponization of exploits used against products such as the iPhone, Android phones, Samsung TVs, and Microsoft Windows. This means any of these devices can be used as spying mechanisms at any given time. Read the rest of this entry »
