I recently saw an Edward Snowden quote: “saying you don’t care about privacy because you have nothing to hide is like saying saying you don’t care about free speech because you have nothing to say”.
Couple things here. We all have things we want to hide and there are things we do that ne’er do wells want to know about.
Three Felonies A Day: How the Feds Target the Innocent by Harvey Silverglate tells us how there are so many laws it is beyond comprehension. The average person commits three felonies a day and doesn’t realize it.
The movie Snowden tells us Edward met his girlfriend Lindsay through a dating site. When things become trying in their relationship Lindsay is caught browsing the site. Innocent? Maybe, maybe not. But it was something Lindsay would, I imagine, have wanted to remain private.
