A Major Shift in the JFK Assassination – The Future of Freedom Foundation

Posted by M. C. on January 11, 2023

Apparently the idea is that if the CIA’s 59-year-old secret assassination-related records are released to the public, the United States will fall into the ocean or be taken over by the Reds.

by Jacob G. Hornberger

President Biden’s recent decision to permit the CIA to continue keeping its 59-year-old records relating to the Kennedy assassination secret from the American people has brought about a public backlash that has not been seen since the enactment of the JFK Records Act in 1992. This major shift is a tremendously positive development in the JFK assassination.

You will recall that a couple of years ago, Biden used the Covid crisis as an excuse to give the CIA another extension of time for secrecy. Biden has now returned to the tried-and-true “national-security” excuse for, once again, letting the CIA get away with another secrecy extension. Apparently the idea is that if the CIA’s 59-year-old secret assassination-related records are released to the public, the United States will fall into the ocean or be taken over by the Reds.

The backlash to Biden’s decision has been substantial.

There is Tucker Carlson’s monologue on Fox News in which he expressly stated his belief that the CIA was involved in Kennedy’s assassination. Given that Carlson is the most popular commentator on Fox News, that monologue is obviously a huge breakthrough.

Robert Kennedy, Jr., is the son of Robert Kennedy, the president’s brother, who himself was assassinated. Kennedy, Jr., sent out a tweet that included a link to Carlson’s monologue. Kennedy’s tweet stated, “The most courageous newscast in 60 years. The CIA’s murder of my uncle was a successful coup d’état from which our democracy has never recovered.@Tucker Carlson.”

In his online show System Update, the noted political commentator Glenn Greenwald has also now weighed in on the JFK assassination. You can see his presentation here (go to 43:00). Greenwald doesn’t specifically state his conviction that the CIA helped carry out the JFK assassination but there is no doubt in my mind that, based on his presentation, that is what he believes. In his presentation, he features Carlson’s monologue and Robert Kennedy’s tweet. He also recommends David Talbot’s book The Devil’s Chessboard. For a written summary of Greenwald’s presentation, see here.

The libertarian Reason magazine published an article which, while refraining from taking a position on whether the assassination was, in fact, a national-security-state regime-change operation, called for the release of the CIA’s long-secret assassination-related records.

Even though he is skeptical of claims that November 22, 1963, was a regime-change operation, federal judge John Tunheim is exhorting President Biden and Congress to order the release of the CIA’s long-secret assassination-related records. Tunheim served as chairman of the Assassination Records Review Board in the 1990s. The ARRB was the agency whose job it was to enforce the JFK Records Collection Act. You can see his presentation here at a press conference at the National Press Club.

Biden’s decision to extend the time for secrecy also generated a large number of articles in the mainstream press criticizing his decision. A fascinating aspect of these articles is that some of them did not limit their criticism to the continued secrecy of the records. Like Carlson and Kennedy, Jr., they went one important step further and actually stated their conviction that Kennedy was felled by his enemies within the government. See this article by Jefferson Morley that recaps many of the articles in the mainstream press regarding the controversy.

In fact, Morley, who is a former investigative reporter for the Washington Post, deserves the credit for having brought much of the recent publicity to the CIA’s continued cover-up. Longtime supporters of FFF will recognize Morley as the author of FFF’s book CIA & JFK: The Secret Assassination Files. He was also a speaker at our 2021 conference “The National Security State and the JFK assassination,” which was, in my opinion, the best conference ever on this topic. In fact, if you haven’t watched it, I highly recommend doing so.

In fact, another fantastic conference we held was in 2017, which featured Oliver Stone and many other great speakers. It was entitled “The National Security State and JFK.”

Update on the JFK Assassination

Posted by M. C. on January 9, 2023

Federal judge says CIA deceived the assassination review board.

JFK: “splinter the C.I.A. in a thousand pieces and scatter it to the winds.”

60 years later: “On April 26, 2018, the Trump administration surprised many observers by announcing a three-year extension of the deadline for the release of some documents, which it had deemed needed to remain confidential because of “identifiable national security, law enforcement, and foreign affairs concerns.” “

I Am Still Not Nostradamus! – The Future of Freedom Foundation

Posted by M. C. on December 20, 2022

After all, it wouldn’t have been smart to hide only the incriminating evidence. Better to bury it in a mountain of non-incriminating evidence so that no one will notice. Then, every 10 years or so, the CIA can release a bit of the non-incriminating evidence, which will enable the CIA to exclaim, “See how honest and transparent we are?”

https://www.fff.org/2022/12/19/i-am-still-not-nostradamus/

by Jacob G. Hornberger

On October 23, 2017, I wrote an article entitled “I Predict Trump Will Continue the CIA’s JFK Assassination Cover-Up.” My prediction turned out to be true. Trump extended the JFK cover-up until October 26, 2021.

On October 24, 2021, I wrote an article entitled “Biden Will Continue the JFK Cover-Up.” My prediction turned out to be true. On October 26, 2021, Biden extended the JFK cover-up until December 15, 2022.

On September 8, 2022, I wrote an article entitled “My Prediction on the CIA’s Secret Assassination Files,” in which I went out on a limb and predicted that President Biden would, once again, on December 15, 2022, extend the time for secrecy for the CIA’s 60-year-old records relating to the Kennedy assassination.

Then, the following month — on October 21, 2022 — I wrote an article entitled “I Am Not Nostradamus!” I repeated my September 8, 2022, prediction by stating: “So, if you’re holding your breath until December 15, please don’t make yourself suffer in that way. They are not going to release those records when that deadline comes. Biden will do what Trump did and what he already has done: He will, once again, bend the knee, kiss the ring of the CIA, and defer to its orders.”

When the latest deadline for disclosure of those assassination-related records came due last week on December 15, 2022, take a wild guess what happened. Yep, my prediction came true once again! Even though it released some of its long-secret assassination-related records on the December 15 deadline, the CIA continued keeping thousands of its records secret from the American people. Once again, Biden let the CIA get away with it.

Make no mistake about it: Those still-secret records are small but important pieces to the puzzle that serve to further establish the criminal culpability of the national-security establishment in the Kennedy assassination.

You can rest assured that those still-secret records do not contain a confession. From the very beginning of its program of state-sponsored assassinations, it was a firm CIA policy to never put anything into writing regarding its state-sponsored assassinations. Thus, you can rest assured that those still-secret records do not contain any reference to the CIA’s role in the Kennedy assassination. But you can be equally assured that they contain critically important circumstantial evidence that points to criminal culpability on the part of the CIA.

Biden and the CIA claim that releasing those secret records after almost 60 years will threaten “national security.” Notice something important: They said the same thing about the batch of records that the CIA did release on December 15. For some 30 years, they have been claiming that releasing those records would threaten “national security.” It’s been a lie the whole time.

Too Secret? The Secret Service’s Long, Troubling History of Omerta

Posted by M. C. on July 30, 2022

Before the text messages’ convenient disappearance, the agency also trashed records related to the JFK assassination.

But we must ask ourselves: Do we have the right people — with the right skills and temperament — to perform these vital tasks

By Russ Baker
Going Deep

The conduct of the Secret Service during the January 6 Capitol attack was highly confusing, but the ongoing kerfuffle over its erratic behavior elides one consistent fact: Our modern-day Praetorian Guard has long been a problematic institution.

As I wrote last week, although the Secret Service’s actions around the JFK assassination were most egregiously suspect, the history of our elected officials’ bodyguards is riddled with scandal and incompetence. Despite this, the agency itself — with its more than $2 billion annual budget — has never been seriously investigated or called out for its failings. And it’s naive to believe that the ongoing and widening text message scandal will change this sad status quo.

In apparent violation of agency policy, as many as 10 agents on the security details of Donald Trump and Mike Pence may have sent text messages on or before the Capitol riots on January 5 and 6, 2021, only to either delete them or to have the agency conveniently “lose” them when they were requested by Congress. Only one message was turned over to the January 6 committee.

Joseph Cuffari, the Trump-appointed inspector general of the Department of Homeland Security, has opened a criminal investigation, but since Cuffari may have known about the vanishing texts months before he told Congress, several top Congressional Democrats are asking him to recuse himself. Meanwhile, top agents and security officials — including Anthony Ornato, who was a top aide in the Trump White House while still carrying a Secret Service badge — have lawyered up. (Ornato is still assistant director of training at the agency, “responsible for the oversight, administration, policies, and forecasting of required training and professional development for all Secret Service personnel.”)

This is all highly suspicious, so much so that there are calls for the Biden administration to appoint an outsider to clean house. “You cannot fix this agency from within,” said CNN analyst Juliette Kayyem, an Obama-era DHS official. Even The Washington Post smells a rat. “Maybe the secret service is incompetent,” the Washington establishment’s paper of record wrote July 23, “or maybe there’s something fouler afoot.”

The text messages matter because they could reveal crucial insider details about Donald Trump’s intentions and state of mind on January 6. They could be vital to a criminal indictment and prosecution of the former president — so one easy explanation for the missing messages is that the Secret Service, which has always played favorites with the presidents it’s supposed to protect, is covering for Trump.

That’s consistent with the school of thought that the Secret Service is riddled with Trump acolytes, but the full picture is more complicated. Vice President Mike Pence’s detail, for example, apparently feared for their lives or at least their safety on January 6. Pence appears to have feared for his.

And yet, if members of the Secret Service are covering for Trump or participated in an aborted coup, how do you square that with the bizarre, disturbing, and inconsistent image of Trump trying to wrest control of the presidential limousine when his security detail told him he would not be joining the mob outside (and inside) the Capitol? (And how do we square that with the fact that Ornato himself, via Cassidy Hutchinson, was the source for that anecdote? If Ornato was part of some plot to keep Trump in power, did he have second thoughts — and if so, why?)

In an ideal situation, high-level security jobs require rigor, competency, and fearlessness. The possibility has occurred to me that one reason Trump’s protectors may have destroyed those messages is what they might have revealed about their own inadequacy for the task at hand. As well as their candid thoughts about what was happening, including Trump’s role in the chaos.

What the CIA Is Hiding in the JFK Assassination – The Future of Freedom Foundation

Posted by M. C. on October 29, 2021

They know that if they do talk, they run the risk of themselves being murdered, maybe their families too. People who participate in murder schemes know that they had better keep their mouths shut or else.

One example is Mafia figure Jimmy Hoffa. We still don’t know who killed Hoffa. That’s because no one talked. Another example is Johnny Roselli, the liaison in the CIA-Mafia partnership to assassinate Cuban leader Fidel Castro. We still don’t know who murdered Roselli. No one has ever talked.

https://www.fff.org/2021/10/26/what-the-cia-is-hiding-in-the-jfk-assassination/

by Jacob G. Hornberger

With President Biden succumbing to the CIA’s demand to continue keeping the CIA’s records relating to the Kennedy assassination secret, the question naturally arises: What is the CIA still hiding? (See my blog post of yesterday entitled “Surprise! Biden Continues the CIA’s JFK Assassination Cover-Up.”)

To understand what they are still hiding and why they are still hiding it, it’s necessary to go back to the 1990s during the era of the Assassination Records Review Board — and even further back than that to November 22, 1963 — the day that Kennedy was assassinated.

People often say that if the CIA and the Pentagon had orchestrated the assassination of President Kennedy, someone would have talked by now.

That’s just not true. When it comes to murder, people don’t talk.

People who talk also run the risk of being prosecuted because there is no statute of limitations for murder. A good recent example is real-estate heir Robert Durst. He was recently convicted of murdering a person twenty-one years ago.

So, it was always a safe bet that the CIA and the Pentagon would be able to keep their regime-change operation in Dallas sealed in secrecy.

However, not so with respect to the fraudulent autopsy that the Pentagon carried out on President Kennedy’s body on the evening of the assassination. When the ARRB released people who had participated in the autopsy during the 1990s, they talked.

As I detailed in my books The Kennedy Autopsy and The Kennedy Autopsy 2 and in my online presentation in our Zoom conference last spring, a fraudulent autopsy was an essential part of the cover-up in the assassination.

The problem that the plotters had, however, is that in order to carry out this part of the cover-up, they had to enlist the assistance of many people within the vast national-security establishment who played no role in the assassination. Since all those people were innocent and mostly unwitting participants to the cover-up, they didn’t have the same incentive to stay quiet as the people who knowingly participated in the assassination itself.

The military did its best to keep everyone quiet by telling the autopsy participants that what they were doing was classified. Everyone in the military knows what that means — people are expected to take classified secrets to the grave with them. Participants to the autopsy were required to sign written secrecy oaths. They were also threatened with court martial or criminal prosecution if they ever revealed what they had done or seen.

As I pointed out in The Kennedy Autopsy, the scheme for a fraudulent autopsy was actually set into motion at Parkland Hospital in Dallas. Immediately after Kennedy was declared dead, the Dallas County Medical Examiner, Dr. Earl Rose, announced his intent to conduct an autopsy on the president’s body, as Texas law required. That was when a team of armed Secret Service agents, brandishing guns, told Rose in no uncertain terms that they would not permit him to do the autopsy. Forcing their way out of Parkland Hospital, they took the body to Dallas’s Love Field, where new President Lyndon Johnson was waiting for it. Johnson then took the body back with him to Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland, where he delivered it into the hands of the military.

The Strange Synchronicity of Seemingly Unrelated Enigmatic Events: April 1963, Seven Months Before JFK’s Assassination – LewRockwell

LBJ was interesting to say the least.

This book looks good.

LBJ: Master of Deceit

THE ROMAN POET JUVENAL ASKED, “QUIS CUSTODIET IPSOS CUSTODES?” (“WHO WILL GUARD THE GUARDS THEMSELVES?”)

During the month of April, 1963, a number of strange events (or metaphoric “threads”) occurred that, when woven together, suggest that they had much in common, in the context of the evolving plot to murder President Kennedy and ensure that a major change in the direction of the United States would be effected: A military/intelligence take-over of the U.S. foreign policy was the immediate goal of the forces behind the 1963 coup d’état.  Domestic policy was the secondary, albeit inseparable, goal.

The following list includes some of the most notable events that took place over a two-week period of that month:

Wednesday, April 10TH:

Someone – to this day it is not clear who – shot a bullet through the window of retired General Edwin Walker, a staunchly-conservative veteran of World War II and the Korean War.  Walker, despite having been appointed by President Eisenhower to successfully lead the desegregation of Little Rock Central High School in 1957, later became associated with segregationists and members of the right-wing organization the John Birch Society.  In 1961 he became the only Army general to resign after his controversial actions related to allegedly indoctrinating troops under his command in Germany with materials that claimed that communists were in control of much of the government and were behind the racial integration program.

In 1961-62, Walker began making numerous public speeches and, with the backing of the oil billionaire and radio-host H. L. Hunt, he began a campaign to run for governor of Texas, but finished last in the Republican primary election to John Connally.  On December 4, 1961, his photo appeared on the front cover of Newsweek magazine under the title, “Thunder on the Right.”  It had become widely known in the area that Walker lived on Turtle Creek Drive near downtown Dallas.

The bullet hit the wooden window frame, which deflected it away from Walker.  Many researchers believe that it is unlikely that Oswald was involved in that shooting, given that at least one eyewitness stated that there were two men on the scene during the shooting, who escaped in separate cars immediately afterward; Walker himself stated that, after going upstairs to get a pistol, he came back down the stairway and, through a front window: “I saw a car at the bottom of the church alley just making a turn onto Turtle Creek.  The car was unidentifiable. I could see the two back lights . . . I could see it moving out . . . [it] would have been about at the right time for anybody that was making a getaway.”[i]  Oswald did not have routine access to a car.

Many, if not most, researchers have not only discounted the notion that Oswald fired the shot at Walker but believe that it was part of the plan, intentionally designed to set him up as a patsy as a specific instance of his supposed capacity for violence.  Given General Walker’s reputation as an arch-enemy of the Kennedys, especially their efforts to pass civil rights reforms, it is possible that he volunteered his assistance in such a caper.  That Jack Ruby had casually “fingered” Oswald soon after the event conveniently helped the commission to make a case of violent behavior for a man not otherwise known for that.

As noted below, at least before Marina Oswald told the Warren Commission that she believed that Lee was the shooter (the pressure on her — including threats of deportation — must be considered regarding everything she said), Walker suspected others of the act, specifically a neighbor of George De Mohrenschildt named Dr. William Wolf. As noted below, Wolf would die nine days later in a fire in his apartment.

Jeffrey Epstein and the Spectacle of Secrecy – LewRockwell

Posted by M. C. on August 17, 2019

…the Mueller investigation…one obvious question was never asked: What is the CIA’s role in it all?  It was never asked because the job of the corporate mass media is to work for the CIA, not to expose it as a nest of organized criminals and murderers that it is.

https://www.lewrockwell.com/2019/08/edward-curtin/jeffrey-epstein-and-the-spectacle-of-secrecy/

By

When phrases such as “the deep state” and “conspiracy theory” become staples of both the corporate mainstream media and the alternative press, we know the realities behind these phrases have outlasted their usefulness for the ruling elites that control the United States and for their critics, each of whom uses them refutably or corrobatively. These phrases are bandied about so often that they have become hackneyed and inane.

Everything is shallow now, in our faces, and by being in our faces the truth is taking place behind our backs. The obvious can’t be true since it’s so obvious, so let us search for other explanations, and when the searchers search, let us call them “conspiracy nuts.” It is a mind game of extraordinary proportions, orchestrated by the perverted power elites that run the show and ably abetted by their partners in the corporate mass media, even some in the alternative press who mean well but are confused, or are disinformation agents in the business of sowing confusion together with their mainstream Operation Mockingbird partners. It is a spectacle of open secrecy, in which the CIA, which created the “conspiracy theory” meme to ridicule critics of the Warren Commission’s absurd explanation of the Kennedy assassination, has effectively sucked everyone into a game of to and fro in which only they win.

“When I make a word do a lot of work like that,” said Humpty Dumpty, “I always pay it extra.”

Only by stepping outside this narrative frame with its vocabulary can we begin to grasp the truth here in our Wonderland of endless illusions.

Death, sex, power, intrigue, murder, suicide – these are the staples of the penny press of the 19th century, Joseph Pulitzer’s New York World, Hearst’s New York Journal, the tabloids, today’s mass media, and the CIA.  People hunger for these stories, not for the real truth that impacts their lives, but for the titillation that gives a frisson to their humdrum lives. It is why post-modern detective stories are so popular, as if never solving the crime is the point.

To say “we will never know” is the mantra of a postmodern culture created to keep people running in circles. (Note the commentaries about the Jeffrey Epstein case.) Elusive and allusive indeterminacy characterizes everything in the culture of postmodernity. Robert Pfaller, a professor at the University of Art and Industrial Design in Linz, Austria and a founding member of the Viennese psychoanalytic research group “stuzzicandenti,” put it clearly in a recent interview:

The ruling ideology since the fall of the Berlin Wall, or even earlier, is postmodernism. This is the ideological embellishment that the brutal neoliberal attack on Western societies’ welfare (that was launched in the late 1970s) required in order to attain a “human”, “liberal” and “progressive” face. This coalition between an economic policy that serves the interest of a tiny minority, and an ideology that appears to “include” everybody is what Nancy Fraser has aptly called “progressive neoliberalism”. It consists of neoliberalism, plus postmodernism as its ideological superstructure.

The propagandists know this; they created it.  They are psychologically astute, having hijacked many intelligent but soul-less people of the right and left to do their handiwork.  Money buys souls, and the number of those who have sold theirs is numerous, including those leftists who have been bought by the CIA, as Cord Meyer, the CIA official phrased it so sexually in the 1950s: we need to “court the compatible left.”  He knew that drawing leftists into the CIA’s orbit was the key to efficient propaganda. For so many of the compatible left, those making a lot of money posing as opponents of the ruling elites but taking the money of the super-rich, the JFK assassination and the truth of September 11, 2001 are inconsequential, never to be broached, as if they never happened, except as the authorities say they did. By ignoring these most in-your-face events with their eyes wide shut, a coterie of influential leftists has done the work of Orwell’s crime-stop and has effectively succeeded in situating current events in an ahistorical and therefore misleading context that abets U.S. propaganda.

The debate over whether Jeffrey Epstein committed suicide or not is a pseudo-debate meant to keep people spinning their wheels over nothing. It attracts attention and will do so for many days to come. There are even some usually astute people suggesting that he may not be dead but might have been secretly whisked off somewhere and replaced with a dead look-alike. Now who would profit from suggesting something as insane as this? The speculation runs rampant and feeds the spectacle. Whether he was allowed to kill himself or was killed makes little difference.

As it was with Jack Ruby killing Lee Harvey Oswald, so it is with Epstein. There will be no trial.  Nothing is really hidden except the essential truth.  Guess, debate, wonder, watch, read to your sad heart’s content.  You will have gotten nowhere unless you step outside the frame of the reigning narrative.

A corollary example of another recent national headline grabber, the Mueller investigation, is apropos here.  Douglass Valentine, expert on the CIA and author of The CIA as Organized Crime, said in a recent interview that in all the endless mass media discussions of the Mueller investigation, one obvious question was never asked: What is the CIA’s role in it all?  It was never asked because the job of the corporate mass media is to work for the CIA, not to expose it as a nest of organized criminals and murderers that it is…

George H.W. Bush, the CIA and a Case of State-Sponsored Terrorism – Consortiumnews

Posted by M. C. on December 3, 2018

(Solemnly with a tear) George H. W. Bush was a great diplomat.

Don’t be fooled by the kind words. Bush was a typical inhabitant of the deep state/Military/industrial/bankster swamp.

He was a tool, then head of, the CIA. You don’t get much deeper in the muck than that.

He helped kill half a million kids in Iraq. I doubt you will hear this mentioned during the eulogy.

I am no JFK assassination buff but Bush angle and Bush phone calls have always peaked my interest.

See this: https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2005/3/18/100364/-

So we have George H. W. Bush telling the FBI that he did not know the source of the information but knew that a John Bircher named James Parrott, who was the same age as Lee Harvey Oswald (24), wanted to kill President Kennedy in Houston. Bush did not know much about Parrott but gave the name of two Republican Party officials in Houston. Of course, Bush’s Zapata Off-Shore Drilling Company had been a CIA front since 1960 and had supplied the Bay of Pigs invasion (code named “Zapata”) force with two of his company’s ex-U.S. Navy landing craft, renamed the “Barbara J” and the “Houston.” In any case, Bush’s phone call to the FBI was a false lead, and Parrott was cleared.

However, Bush’s phone call creates more questions about him than about Parrott…

Jim Garrison on the Trail of JFK’s Assassins – LewRockwell

Posted by M. C. on November 11, 2017

Garrison has a good rep. This will likely go on my ever expanding reading list.

https://www.lewrockwell.com/2017/11/no_author/jim-garrison-on-the-trail-of-jfks-assassins/

Jim Garrison’s book should be considered the most authoritative, factual and important book on the JFK assassination. Garrison is the only public official to attempt to try the case in a court, and to properly investigate leads that were ignored by the Warren Commission. Every American should read this book, and take heed that we have not been told the truth about the assassination.

Trump delays release of some JFK assassination documents, bowing to national security concerns

Posted by M. C. on October 27, 2017

President Trump delayed on Thursday evening the release of thousands of pages of classified documents related to the John F. Kennedy assassination, bowing to pressure from the CIA, FBI and other federal agencies still seeking to keep some final secrets about the nearly 54-year-old investigation.

After 54 years these files still have to be reviewed?

Whose insecurity concerns? The CIA’s, FBI’s? You betcha.

So who is still alive after all this time? Read the rest of this entry »
