Gabbard: Trump should talk to North Korea ‘immediately’ after Hawaii false alarm – POLITICO

Posted by M. C. on January 15, 2018

Gabbard speaks the truth and has foreign policy common sense. It is a wonder McCain and the pentagram have allowed her to stay in office.

Don’t hold your breath for any denuclearization. NK will remain nuclear because of what happened to Iraq and Libya after they agreed with US to forego nuclear development.

https://www.politico.com/story/2018/01/14/hawaii-false-alarm-gabbard-trump-korea-340293

“Our country’s history of regime change war has led countries like North Korea to develop and hold on to these nuclear weapons because they see it as their only deterrent against regime change. And this is what’s important for President Trump to recognize,” she said.

“It is critical that we end our policy, the regime change wars, to provide that credible guarantee that the United States is not going to go in and topple the North Korean regime so that these conversations can begin toward denuclearization.”

Little Rocket Man Wins the Round – LewRockwell

Posted by M. C. on January 13, 2018

https://www.lewrockwell.com/2018/01/patrick-j-buchanan/little-rocket-man-wins-the-round/

For the American Imperium, our system of alliances, is held together by a credible commitment: If you attack any of our scores of allies, you are at war with the United States.

From the Baltic to the Black Sea to the Persian Gulf, from the South China Sea to Korea and Japan today, the costs and the risks of maintaining the imperium are growing.

With all these promissory notes out there — guarantees to go to war for other nations — one is inevitably going to be called.

And this generation of Americans, unaware of what their grandfathers obligated them to do, will demand to know, as they did in Iraq and Afghanistan: What are we over doing there, on the other side of the world?

America First is more than a slogan.

North Korea Is Walking Back War – And Pundits Are Strangely Disappointed – Antiwar.com Original

Posted by M. C. on January 11, 2018

Why make agreements when you can bomb them back to the stoneage, make them a puppet and make $Billions for the MIC?

But as the pentagram continues to re-learn, once the shooting starts the plans go all to hell.

http://original.antiwar.com/feffer/2018/01/10/north-korea-walking-back-war-pundits-strangely-disappointed/

In talks this week at the DMZ, South Korea welcomed the participation of North Korea in the upcoming Winter Olympics. The two countries also discussed restarting reunions of divided families and reducing tensions on the Korean peninsula. Earlier, both sides reestablished their hotline.

All of this adult conversation is a welcome change from the war of epithets between the “dotard” president of the United States and the “little rocket man” in Pyongyang.

Strange, then, that a politically diverse set of pundits in the United States has been worried only about how North Korea could use these talks to drive a wedge between South Korea and the United States…. Read the rest of this entry »

Dealing With North Korea – LewRockwell

Posted by M. C. on January 1, 2018

https://www.lewrockwell.com/2018/01/walter-e-block/dealing-with-north-korea/

If I were President of the United States, or, more realistically, if Ron or Rand Paul were, and they appointed me Secretary of Defense, or Secretary of State, this is how I would deal with Kim Jong-un and the North Korean situation.

First, realize that Un’s theatrics are, from his own point of view, perfectly rational. He is not stupid. He looks at what happened to Muammar Gaddafi of Libya; murdered by mobs after kow-towing to the Great Satan. He notes the demise of Saddam Hussain of Iraq, another country that got on the wrong side of our imperialist nation; a similar dismal end befell him, too. It does not take much brain power to realize that Un’s only hope of escaping a similar fate would be, roughly, the one he has adopted: belligerence, nuclear armament, bellicosity, etc.

Here is what to do about the situation….

America, Mind Your Own Business – LewRockwell

Posted by M. C. on December 12, 2017

https://www.lewrockwell.com/2017/12/patrick-j-buchanan/what-should-we-fight-for/

How did Israel gain title to East Jerusalem, the West Bank and Golan Heights? Invasion, occupation, colonization, annexation.

Those lands are the spoils of victory from Israel’s 1967 Six-Day War.

Is Israel being severely sanctioned like Russia? Not quite.

Her yearly U.S. stipend is almost $4 billion, as she builds settlement after settlement on occupied land despite America’s feeble protests.

If so, we are committed to a goal we almost surely are not going to achieve. For, short of a war that could go nuclear, Kim Jong Un is not going to yield to our demands.

For Kim, nuclear weapons are not an option.

He knows that Saddam Hussein, who had given up his WMD, was hanged after the Americans attacked. He knows the grisly fate of Moammar Gadhafi, after he invited the West into Libya to dismantle his nuclear program and disarm him of any WMD.

Kim knows that if he surrenders his nuclear weapons, he has nothing to deter the Americans should they choose to use their arsenal on his armed forces, his regime, and him.

North Korea may enter talks, but Kim will never surrender the missiles and nukes that guarantee his survival. Look for the Americans to find a way to accommodate him.

Heaven Forbid Peace Should Break Out Between the US and North Korea!

Posted by M. C. on December 5, 2017

https://antoniusaquinas.com/

As long as the US Empire can be funded and maintained on the backs of its taxpaying public, the chance of de-escalation of tensions not only on the Korean peninsula, but throughout the world are practically nil.  And, as long as the nation’s current interventionist ideology holds sway, it will only be through a financial meltdown that the US’s role as global policeman will come to a much-needed end. North Korea, Iran, Cuba-Why are They Still A Problem After More Than 50 Years Of US ‘Diplomacy’?

Posted by M. C. on October 1, 2017

Sixty some years of chances to make peace with North Korea. Fifty some years to make peace with Cuba. Iran? Even before the CIA overthrew their government in ’53 the US had been messing with them.
Why do they still pose a threat after all this time? Perhaps these quotes from General Smedley Butler’s ‘War Is A Racket‘ can help explain.
“I spent 33 years and four months in active military service and during that period I spent most of my time as a high class muscle man for Big Business, for Wall Street and the bankers. In short, I was a racketeer, a gangster for capitalism. I helped make Mexico and especially Tampico safe for American oil interests in 1914. I helped make Haiti and Cuba a decent place for the National City Bank boys to collect revenues in. I helped in the raping of half a dozen Central American republics for the benefit of Wall Street. I helped purify Nicaragua for the International Banking House of Brown Brothers in 1902-1912. I brought light to the Dominican Republic for the American sugar interests in 1916. I helped make Honduras right for the American fruit companies in 1903. In China in 1927 I helped see to it that Standard Oil went on its way unmolested. Looking back on it, I might have given Al Capone a few hints. The best he could do was to operate his racket in three districts. I operated on three continents.”

Ron Paul Fears False Flag Looms, Urges Americans To Resist Deep State Push For War On North Korea | Zero Hedge

Posted by M. C. on September 28, 2017

We are goading NK into war with words and constant military exercises on it’s border.  Watch for something that won’t be easy to disprove, like an SK or Japanese (never a US) ship that suddenly sinks.

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-09-27/ron-paul-fears-false-flag-looms-urges-americans-resist-deep-state-push-war-north-kor

We are seeing now in regard to North Korea a replay of the type of campaign the deep state and the media used in 2001 through 2003 to stir up the American people to support the invasion of Iraq. Read the rest of this entry »

Trump at the UN: The Politics of Rodomontade – Antiwar.com Original

Posted by M. C. on September 21, 2017

http://original.antiwar.com/justin/2017/09/20/trump-un-politics-rodomontade/

What will go down in history as the “Rocket man” speech underscores the confusion, the contradictions, the dangers, and even some of the virtues – however attenuated – of the Trump presidency.

Despite the flamboyant rhetoric – or, perhaps, because of it – it’s hard to take Trump’s threat to “destroy” North Korea seriously. Trump knows, as his generals surely do, that the destruction of Pyongyang would be accompanied by the annihilation of Seoul – a city of over ten million people. Read the rest of this entry »
