Syria Denies US Allegation They Are Cremating Prisoners

Yesterday’s allegations from the US State Department that Syria had built a large crematorium outside of Damascus and was using it to mass cremate the detainees they also claim Syria to be mass executing came with a conspicuous lack of evidence for any of the assertions, boiling down to satellite images of the outside of the putative crematorium.

State Department officials making the allegations yesterday conceded that the timing was primarily related to the recent visit of Russia’s Foreign Minister to the US, and followed it by claiming Russia must be “endorsing” the killings that they offered no evidence were happening in the first place. My Questions to the Foreign office about Syria and Chemical Weapons – Mail Online – Peter Hitchens blog

Posted by M. C. on May 15, 2017

http://hitchensblog.mailonsunday.co.uk/2017/05/my-questions-to-the-foreign-office-about-syria-and-chemical-weapons.html

As I noted in my Mail on Sunday column on 30th April 2017, I recently sent a series of questions to the Foreign office about their apparent confidence that Syria’s government are responsible for the recent alleged poison gas attacks in that country.

Eyewitness reports (cited in evidence by the Foreign Secretary) speak of ‘clouds of smoke’ (Independent 05/04/2017) and say ‘We could smell it from 500 metres away.’(Guardian 07/04/2017) and  ‘The smell reached us here in the centre; it smelled like rotten food.’ (Daily Telegraph 06/04/2017). The Nerve Agent Attack that Did Not Occur: Analysis of the Times and Locations of Critical Events in the Alleged Nerve Agent Attack at 7 AM on April 4, 2017 in Khan Sheikhoun, Syria

Video taken on April 4 shows that the location where the victims were supposedly being treated from sarin exposure is incompatible with the only open space in the hamlet that could have been used for mass treatment of victims. This indicates that the video scenes where mass casualties (dead and dying) were laid on the ground randomly was not at the hamlet. If the location where the bodies were on the ground was instead a site where the injured and dead were taken for processing, then it is hard to understand why bodies were left randomly strewn on the ground and in mud as shown in the videos…phoca_thumb_l_tcobb34 Read the rest of this entry »

MIT Professor Explains Why The Assad Gas Attack Was A Sham

Posted by M. C. on April 19, 2017

Pretty much every official statement emanating from the U.S. government these days is a deception, fabrication, or outright lie. I understand that this is a hard thing for a U.S. citizen to admit, but as James Baldwin so accurately stated: “Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced.”

America Should Start Exploring How to End All the Wars It’s Started

“A widely held sentiment inside the White House is that many of the most prominent foreign policy think tanks in Washington are doing the bidding of their Arab and pro-Israel funders. I’ve heard one administration official refer to Massachusetts Avenue, the home of many of these think tanks, as ‘Arab-occupied territory’.” Read the rest of this entry »

Trump’s Bombing of Syria: Continuation of a Policy Which Started Only 3 Years After Syria Became an Independent Nation … When Trump Was 2 Years Old

Posted by M. C. on April 12, 2017

http://www.washingtonsblog.com/2017/04/trumps-bombing-syria-simply.html

As early as 1949, this newly independent Arab republic was an important staging ground for the CIA’s earliest experiments in covert action.

The CIA secretly encouraged a right-wing military coup in 1949.

The reason the U.S. initiated the coup? Little explains:

In late 1945, the Arabian American Oil Company (ARAMCO) announced plans to construct the Trans-Arabian Pipe Line (TAPLINE) from Saudi Arabia to the Mediterra- nean. With U.S. help, ARAMCO secured rights-of-way from Lebanon, Jordan and Saudi Arabia. The Syrian right-of-way was stalled in parliament.

In other words, Syria was the sole holdout for the lucrative oil pipeline.

(Indeed, the CIA has carried out this type of covert action right from the start.)

Typical Washington efficiency.  A 70 year long execution.

White House Accuses Russia of Cover-Up in Syria Chemical Attack

Posted by M. C. on April 11, 2017

The White House accused the Russian government on Tuesday of engaging in a cover-up of the chemical weapons attack last week by Syrian forces that prompted American missile strikes, saying that United States intelligence and numerous contemporaneous reports confirmed that the Syrians used sarin gas on their own people.

In a declassified four-page report that details United States intelligence on the chemical weapons attack and contains a point-by-point rebuttal of Moscow’s claims, the White House asserted that the Syrian and Russian governments had sought to confuse the world community about the assault through disinformation and “false narratives.” Read the rest of this entry »

oftwominds-Charles Hugh Smith: The Media’s Missing the Point: Syria, Empire and the Power of Signaling

Posted by M. C. on April 11, 2017

I think Ilargi (The Automatic Earth) got it right in his recent essay Symbols of Strength, in which he proposed that the entire cruise-missile exercise had little to do with Syria and everything to do with signaling Trump’s willingness to use force to China’s President Xi jinping
If true it seems a poor way to do business.  Some say dropping the A bombs on Japan was not to defeat the already defeated Japanese but to signal Russia.

Insane Washington Is Driving The World To Thermo-Nuclear War

Posted by M. C. on April 8, 2017

Washington Has Crossed Russia’s Red Line

Washington’s military attack on Syria is unambigiously a war crime. It occurred without any UN authorization or even the fake cover of a “coalition of the willing.” Washington’s attack on Syria occurred in advance of an investigation of the alleged event that Washington is trying to use as its justification. Indeed, Washington’s story of Syrian use of chemical weapons is totally implausible.

As Russia has made clear, the alleged chemical weapons attack has every hallmark of a Washington orchestrated event in order to launch a US military attack on Syria.

Insane Washington is driving the world to thermo-nuclear war. And where are the protests? Read the rest of this entry »

US Missile Strikes in Syria Cross Russian ‘Red Lines’.

From being the solution, he has become an integral part of the problem.

Trump has ignored Russian calls for an investigation into the alleged chemical gas attack in Idlib province before issuing conclusions on culpability, as happened within hours of the event. Read the rest of this entry »
