The Truth Lover’s Prayer

May I see the truth, especially the truth I don’t want to see.

May I see the truth everywhere — in my world, in my nation, in my community, in my family, and in myself — especially in the places I’d prefer not to look.

May I see the truth, even when it hurts.

May I see the truth, even when it’s embarrassing.

May I see the truth, even if it means I was wrong.

May I see the truth, even when it conflicts with my image of myself.

May I see the truth, even when it disrupts my partisan biases and tribalistic loyalties.

May I see the truth, even when it means I’ll have to tear down my entire worldview and build a whole new one — with all the discomfort and disorientation that comes with this.

May I see the truth, even if it means I’ll have to get rid of some part of myself that I hold tightly and treasure deeply.

May I see the truth, even when it contradicts beliefs, values and core parts of my identity that I don’t yet know how to live without.

May I see the truth, even when it means having to go through life with a much greater sense of alienation in this society.

May I see the truth, even if it will permanently damage my view of people I currently love and respect.

May I see the truth, even if it means having to walk away from plans, dreams, and long-sought goals.

May I see the truth, even if it means I’ll have to change my career to be at peace with myself.

A Good Day for Freedom, Truth, & Justice

Celebrating Two Triumphant Court Victories: The Canadian Truckers Vindicated & CJ Hopkins Acquitted of Thoughtcrimes

As Émile Zola1 writes in “J’Accuse …!”:

“If you shut up truth and bury it under the ground, it will but grow, and gather to itself such explosive power that the day it bursts through it will blow up everything in its way.”

After four years of resisting tyranny without respite, we could use a rejuvenating shot of good news. Here is a double espresso to recharge you for the battles ahead.

Canadian Government Found Guilty of Illegal Invocation of Emergencies Act

On January 23, 2024, we received the best imaginable two-year anniversary present for the Canadian truckers protest short of criminal prosecution of Tyrant Trudeau and his colluders.

As Michael Nevradakis writes in The Defender’s Canadian Truckers Score Big Victory Over Trudeau in Federal Court:

“In his 190-page ruling, Justice Richard G. Mosley said the government’s invocation of the Emergencies Act ‘does not bear the hallmarks of reasonableness—justification, transparency and intelligibility—and was not justified in relation to the relevant factual and legal constraints that were required to be taken into consideration.’”

The Defender: Canadian Truckers Score Big Victory Over Trudeau in Federal Court

Michael asked me to provide remarks on the ruling, several of which appear in the article. Below is the mini-essay I wrote in response to his query.

Remarks on Canada’s Federal Court Ruling

When I learned about Justice Mosley’s refreshingly just decision, the first words that poured out were, “It is a good day for freedom!”

It is a good day for freedom! CJ Hopkins was acquitted in his thoughtcrime trial yesterday (substack.com/@cjhopkins/note/c-47936483), and now this phenomenal news.

May justice be served to Tyrant Trudeau and delivered on behalf of the brave Canadians who resisted tyranny.

Canadian Government’s use of the Emergencies Act during Trucker Convoy in Ottawa was unlawful & ultra vires, acting beyond the granted scope of the authority or power; TAMPON man Trudeau to appeal

The moment the truckers began rolling toward Ottawa in January 2022, I felt a surge of joy that was like throwing open a window after having suffocated in a dank cell for two years. That euphoric feeling continued to swell during the ensuing weeks as I immersed myself in firsthand footage and witnessed what I called the Winter of Love in my Profile in Courage on the Canadian truckers.

This was the concretization of the secret to toppling tyranny I had revealed in a May 2021 essay as articulated by Étienne de La Boétie in The Politics of Obedience:

“You can deliver yourselves if you try, not by taking action, but merely by willing to be free. Resolve to serve no more, and you are at once freed. I do not ask that you place hands upon the tyrant to topple him over, but simply that you support him no longer; then you will behold him, like a great Colossus whose pedestal has been pulled away, fall of his own weight and break into pieces.”

The Canadian truckers were the allegorical green grocer of Václav Havel’s The Power of the Powerless who one day decided not to hang the government’s propaganda sign in his window, and, in so doing, “disrupted the game … [and] enabled everyone to peer behind the curtain.”

This single act of peaceful noncompliance triggers a cascade effect that dissolves the mental enslavement keeping the populace under the thrall of tyranny, and that is precisely what occurred as freedom convoys began erupting all over the world.

Bouncy castles; pancake parties; marshmallow-roasting; fireworks; Sikhs dancing; spontaneous outbursts of songs like “Lean on Me” and “O Canada”; hot tubs in the middle of a snowy landscape—these were the markers of humanity shattering its shackles. Most impressively, it was accomplished through love rather than violence.

The Ministry of New Normal Truth

CJ HOPKINS

Back in May of 2021, Matt Taibbi interviewed me for his Meet the Censored series. We talked about how critics of the official Covid narrative were being censored by global corporations like Twitter and Facebook. I got into my “GloboCap” shtick a little, but, all in all, it was pretty tame stuff.

How far we have come over these last two years!

Today, Matt Taibbi is being threatened with imprisonment by elements of the US government for reporting on what he and Michael Shellenberger have been calling “The Censorship Industrial Complex.” My social media accounts are dead. I have been visibility-filtered into Internet oblivion by Twitter — yes, Musk’s “free speech Twitter” — and Facebook, ingeniously buried by Google, disappeared by YouTube, and Amazon has banned my latest book in several countries.

Reporting on how US Intelligence agencies and members of the Biden administration apparently conspired to deceive the public and interfere in the 2020 US elections, and how the corporate media collaborated with them and are burying the story now, Matt offers the following sobering observation … “An all-time media blackout is in effect. We’re experiencing real-time Sovietization.”

Even Michael Shellenberger has joined me in openly using the “T-word” …

But that’s not what this newsletter is about … or … OK, it is, or partly, anyway. I’ll be writing a lot more about corporate/state censorship, and The Censorship Industrial Complex, or The Ministry of New Normal Truth, in the days and weeks and months ahead, and probably in the years ahead, but, before I do that, I want to do two other things, (1) tell you about some changes I’ll be making to my Substack operation, and (2) tell you about Substack Notes.

The Internet Is Next

Posted by M. C. on March 24, 2022

The tyranny will only get worse until we actively innovate back toward liberty. It’s time to liberate the people from the propaganda, lies and social manipulation of these goons which has caused untold suffering in the past two years alone.

https://thegoodcitizen.substack.com/p/the-internet-is-next?s=r

The famous phrase about truth as the first casualty of war is everywhere these days if only because the people recognize the truth is often nowhere.

There are variations of this saying, and this one on populism is appropriate given the past decade of rising animosity to elites and global management.

Truth is not the first casualty of war alone: it is the first casualty of populism.
— Theodore Dalrymple

You’ve heard the term “if it’s free you are the product”? Well, that’s always been a quaint yet silly advertising slogan for our collective malaise with our digital world. The implication being if it’s free, you will be paying for it in may other ways that you cannot see. A more appropriate and honest slogan would be: “You are and always have been the target.” Your body, your mind, your mental state, your political beliefs, your private and public habits, your DNA (the past two years) and now your bank accounts and ideological and philanthropic associations are being targeted by western governments for lists, censorship, seizure and freezing out from participation in society unless you submit and obey, forever.

What’s happening in Canada will not stay in Canada. What’s happening in Russia will not stay in Russia. What’s happening in Czechia, The UK, Slovakia, Germany, Austria, France, Italy, New York Kindergartens will not stay there. Tyranny may have arrived with a bioweapon wrapped in a pandemic PR campaign and the pretense of a deadly threat, but it’s quickly mutating in virulence with a manufactured war designed to massage our lizard brains and pull our heart strings.

In order for tyranny to gain a permanent foothold across the west with future Silent War fronts against humanity, it will require total control over information so that events can be framed through manufactured narratives. Right now there are far too many leaks for the truth to escape and expose and undermine those prepared narratives. For tyranny to maneuver freely under benevolent disguises of safety and security it must have the consent of the people, which can only be artificially manufactured with lies and propaganda that are unvarnished by truth.

Our present digital model is one of social and civilizational rot which is why using the term ‘social media’ is a fallacy that should be substituted with ‘attention networks’. The organizing principals of our digital model of monopolized attentions networks is one that shadow governments and intel agencies adore and finance and partner with for new normal fascistic capitalism’s mass surveillance and censorship circus. The capitalism side of that equation no longer matters in a future of great resets and great narratives created by the gatekeepers of ‘stakeholder capitalism’, a controlled and engineered future of centralized technocratic power that must destroy the old models.

For years scholars have separated online mass surveillance from censorship, often ignoring the latter altogether. The two are linked. You cannot have censorship without first having mass surveillance in order to know what is forbidden, even if determined by artificial intelligence programmed by humans with little intelligence on the consequences of censorship. The role of official state censors has always been pervasive in the post printing press world to keep out information and ideas that were a threat to whatever centralized powers controlled the censors. We have only existed in a world without official censors for a very brief time, and were naïve to think given the structure of information creation and consumption today that it could last much longer. In fact, you could say it no longer exists at all. The official censors are back. Their resurrection happened in the algorithmic shadows, at first quietly, but now in a torrid rush playing out for all to see, or not see if they’re allowed to succeed.

A brief trip through time requires we see how we arrived at this present day model of information dissemination and consumption, (how we became targets) by visiting a recent book by George Gilder, Life After Google: The Fall of Big Data and Rise of the Blockchain Economy (2018), whose conclusion is going to need some updating given recent events in Russia, Czechia, Austria, Australia, Canada, ah hell I should just write ‘the world’.

Image
23 years of preparing for the destruction of liberty across the west. Censorship is good.

Information Systems
Over the course of three centuries Gilder traces the concept of ‘system of the world’; a set of ideas that “…pervade a society’s technology and institutions and inform its civilization. A system of the world necessarily combines science and commerce, religion and philosophy, economics and epistemology.” For nearly a millennia there was no system aside from ideas rooted in religion and superstition. The first ‘system’ with roots in today’s ‘information system’ can be observed in 17th century Newtonian discoveries.

Who Is Joe Manchin? | Mises Institute

Posted by M. C. on August 11, 2021

https://mises.org/power-market/who-joe-manchin

Robert Aro

He may not be a household name, but the letter Senator Joe Manchin (D) from West Virginia wrote to the Federal Reserve chair Thursday is worthy of consideration. The notable part is where he writes:

With the recession over and our strong economic recovery well underway, I am increasingly alarmed that the Fed continues to inject record amounts of stimulus into our economy by continuing an emergency level of quantitative easing (QE) with asset purchases of $120 billion per month of Treasury securities and mortgage backed securities.

Recall that the shortest recession in US history, all of two months, ended last April, as announced by the National Bureau of Economic Research in July. Perhaps the delay in reporting the recession data, or the surprisingly short span of the recession helped prompt the senator’s frustration? He continues:

The Fed has sustained $120 billion per month in asset purchases since June 2020, despite increasing vaccination rates to combat the virus and additional fiscal stimulus from Congress in the ARP [American Rescue Plan]. The record amount of stimulus in the economy has led to the most inflation momentum in 30 years, and our economy has not even fully reopened yet.

At the time of writing, the Fed’s balance sheet stood at $8.2 trillion, which is an increase of over $4 trillion since the formal start of the recession last year. He goes on to say that continual stimulus, coupled with further fiscal stimulus, will lead to “unavoidable inflation taxes” Americans cannot afford. He concludes that

it is imperative we begin to understand that long term policy responses tailored for an economic depression, like the Great Depression and Great Recession of 2008, may not be what is required for today’s economy and could result in higher than desired inflation if not removed in time.

The letter is hardly perfect. He doesn’t convey all the nuances, such as the issues with inflation, the Fed’s role in causing booms and busts, etc. And ultimately, he commends the Fed for their intervention, though he questions why it’s continuing this long. It’s understandable, as he’s a senator, not an economist, and may not even be aware of the over-a-century-long history of Austrian economics. However, he seems aware that something isn’t quite right and correctly notes that it’s the Fed’s actions which hurt a lot of Americans.

Albeit small, when someone in the Senate takes an interest in the Fed’s activities and even questions their behavior, it is a step in a better direction. If the ninety-nine other senators and more average citizens question the Fed, it could create opportunities to invoke societal change, to severely limit, and potentially erase the state entirely … one day.

As for the Fed’s response, as reported by Politico:

A Fed spokesperson said the central bank received Manchin’s letter and planned to respond.

We will continue to monitor the situation and look forward to hearing more from the Fed. Until then, let’s consider another question: Where do all the mainstream economists stand with the Fed’s intervention in the free market?

Across the USA, there are a handful of Ivy League schools and countless institutions of higher learning that all teach economics. They each have a roster of academics who get paid to continually study, teach, and write about economics. But the silence from these “intellectuals” remains deafening. It’s almost as if the mainstream academic community didn’t understand what the Fed is doing and therefore remains silent. Or maybe they do understand but don’t care to warn the public. If the latter is true, it could be due to the intellectuals’ comfort and security, which is handsomely paid for by the state. As Hans-Hermann Hoppe once said, the state offers the intellectual “a warm, secure, and permanent berth in its apparatus.”

How difficult is it for the truth, freedom, and liberty to compete with that?

Without Truth There Is No Freedom – PaulCraigRoberts.org

Posted by M. C. on June 2, 2021

Strange it is that a disarmed and helpless West is so well defended by the one thousand billion dollar annual budget of the military/security complex and the 700 or so overseas military bases of the Disunited States. But this is no defense of Western civilization. It is a defense of the power and budgets of defense contractors, CIA and other “intelligence agencies,” the supply chains for defense industries, the university physics and chemistry faculties on Defense Department grants, the political campaign contributions that flow back from the military industries to candidates for the House, Senate, and Oval Office.

https://www.paulcraigroberts.org/2021/06/01/without-truth-there-is-no-freedom/

Paul Craig Roberts

June brings my  quarterly request for donations. Your financial support for the website tells me that my efforts are valued and worthwhile.  Your donations support me in standing up to the smears. Telling the truth in America in these days is a punished, not a rewarded, activity.

The United States is best understood today as the Disunited States.  There is less unity than in 1860.  Civility is gone from debate; indeed, debate itself is gone.  Integrity and respect for truth have lost out to worship of money and the rule of power.  Ideology has shoved aside facts.

Money and power are all. We have seen this in the intentional exaggeration of the Covid threat for Big Pharma profits and the institutionalization of arbitrary government power over civil liberty.  Today, with the exception of some free Red states, such as Florida, in the Disunited States our exercise of our civil liberty requires the government’s permission. You are free only by the government’s permission.  In other words, the US Constitution has lost its authority.  We now live under the authority of the power seekers.

Government and corporate spying have destroyed privacy, another Constitutionally protected right.

Education has been replaced with cult indoctrination. In blue states and in some local school districts of red states, white American students are taught that they are racist by nature.  They are infused with personal guilt for slavery that ended 156 years ago.  Speech codes are imposed that prevent any challenge to the propaganda masquerading as eduction.  The brainwashing of white Americans is imposed by law in blue states such as California, Washington, Oregon, and New York.  Parents who complain are fired by their corporate employers who have imbibed the Critical Race Theory kool-aid. No American who works for a US corporation has freedom of speech.

It is today ordinary for white liberals to speak of “exterminating whiteness.”  Whether they realize it or not, it includes themselves.  What is meant by exterminating whiteness?  The most radical mean it literally—the genocide of white people.  White people being systemic racists are inconsistent with “social justice.”  Most white liberals, such as those on blue state school boards, mean by exterminating whiteness the extermination of “white values,” such as meritocracy and colorblindness.

Colorblindness meant that the best person got the job regardless of race.  It was seen as a way of guaranteeing that a meritorius black person would not be passed over because of race.  But white liberals now say that colorblindness is a white value that upholds meritocracy, whereas “equity” requires that blacks advance because of race, not because of merit.

Exterminating whiteness also means taking down white monuments, burning or delisting white books, rewriting white history as one vast ongoing crime.  Essentially what is required of us is that we reject and denounce Western civilization. If you don’t denounce your civilization, it is proof that you are a racist.

It started years ago—“Western Civ has to go.”  The white liberals thought this was great–denounce your own civilization.

Another way of eliminating whiteness is open borders to peoples of color who eventually outnumber and rule the minority whites.  The Camp of the Saints explains what to expect. Already we see in the Western world governments more responsive to immigrant-invaders than to ethnic citizens.

Many older patriotic Americans dismiss the assaults on whiteness as silly nonsense.  It is silly, and it is nonsense, but it is nevertheless highly successful in destroying the system of beliefs that comprise Western civilization.  Indeed, the destruction of the beliefs—the glue—that hold our civilization together is almost complete. People such as Martyanov, the Saker, Dimetri Orlov, and myself see collapse staring us in the face.  We all hope that we don’t outlive its occurance.

In the West everything is denunciatory.  Nothing is affirmatory.  So many decades of denunciation of the West’s crimes has collapsed belief.  The West is disarmed and helpless.

The one thousand billion dollar annual “defense” budget requires an enemy, and this requirement negates any security from the vast sum expended. Despite the Defense budget, it is far more dangerous to have an enemy than not to have one.  Having Russia as an enemy enhances the defense budget and reduces our safety.  For the sake of the power and profit of the US military/security complex Washington needs the Russian threat to keep the money flowing.

But what country in its right mind would want as an enemy a nuclear armed country whose weapons systems were far superior to its own?

During the 20th century Cold War the US and Soviet leaders worked to reduce tensions.  Arms control treaties were agreed, and communication was kept open.  This saved the world from many false alarms of incoming ICBMs.  Today the tensions, thanks to Clinton, Bush, Obama, and Biden, are so high that false alarms will be believed.  The world can end simply because of a false alarm.

For expressing concern together with Stephen Cohn, now deceased to our great loss, that a nuclear war could be the consequence of a lack of trust between Washington and Moscow, I was accused of  “Putin worship” by Michael C. Moynihan, a person of no known achievement at a website called “The Daily Beast.”

The digital revolution has endowed journalism with minimal intelligence and minimal integrity.  As Udo Ulfkotte wrote in his 2014 book, they are Bought Journalists.

These bought journalists respect money more than life.  If the world experiences nuclear Armageddon, it will be the fault of the Western Presstitutes who helped the military/security complex resurrect the Cold War.

The Truth Is Surely Baseless | Kunstler

Posted by M. C. on May 8, 2021

The urgent problem: how to squash the Arizona vote audit by branding it as an outlaw action, even though it was ordered under law by the Arizona State Senate. Having failed to stop it so far using the Swamp’s Lawfare cadres in the Arizona courts, the DOJ has called in its Civil Rights Division to get’er done, pretending that it will be an offense against people-of-color if auditors seek to know whether write-in votes correspond to actual addresses, and other particulars of election procedure that may have been violated.

Of course, the Arizona business is only one leak in a giant dike of official deceit built-up over the years to keep any truth from deluging the DC lowlands.

https://kunstler.com/clusterfuck-nation/the-truth-is-surely-baseless/

James Howard Kunstler

MADDOW: … I think we should see this as the Justice Department putting these whack jobs in Arizona, forgive me, on notice, that what they`re doing is something they`re not going to be allowed to do for very much longer.

O`DONNELL: I think ‘whack jobs’ is now in The New York Times style sheet for describing what`s happening in Arizona.

— MSNBC 5/5/21

What you’re seeing now with the DC establishment are desperate moves to keep the suspicious and yet more pissed-off public from understanding the government crime spree of the past five years that started with the Obama gang using the Department of Justice to disable and terminate Donald Trump and the threat he represented to the network of special privilege and money known as the Swamp, which has managed to put a deep-fake president in office as a last resort to protect itself.

Other leaks are springing in New Hampshire and Michigan, with a wormhole opening up in Georgia. It will be interesting to see if cable TV news can keep painting the truth as something against the public interest. As many times as they style election fraud “a conspiracy theory” and “baseless,” the public relations arm of the Democratic Party still has a hard slog convincing at least 80-million Americans that a detailed review of a contested vote is a bad thing.

Meanwhile, other breaches in the dike threaten to flood the low-lying Swamp zone with existential threats. The DOJ, the FBI, and other agencies are so saturated in crime that the only feasible damage control they can do is to haplessly commit more crimes against the common decency of the republic to cover up their old crimes. Hence, the seizure of Rudy Giuliani’s phones and computers in a 6 a.m. raid last week, leading to the incriminating disclosure that the FBI secretly accessed Giuliani’s iCloud account to spy on his correspondence with Mr. Trump in the fall of 2019 during the first impeachment preliminaries. Are you kidding me? Who gave the order for that? To violate basic attorney-client privilege during a legal proceeding of the highest order? And what was behind the Giuliani raid?

Among other things, the horror show of corruption in Ukraine, starring (but not limited to) Joe and Hunter Biden in their ceaseless quest for grift, but also featuring many of the origins of the RussiaGate hoax and its spin-offs, plus the involvement of State Department personnel such as Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch and deputy George Kent, double-plus the shady activities of George Soros and his Atlantic Council in seditious activity working hand-in-hand with the CIA’s “whistleblower” (Eric Ciaramella) to damage Mr. Trump — who was impeached for simply inquiring about what was going on in Ukraine.

Mr. Giuliani had to conduct his own investigation into all that for the obvious reason that the usual US agencies who would ordinarily investigate official misconduct were actually perpetrating it: the DOJ, FBI, CIA, and State Department. And who, at the DOJ now, might be behind the current effort to neutralize Mr. Giuliani? Try Lisa Monaco, the new Deputy Attorney General, formerly one of Barack Obama’s chief White House fixers — i.e., an attorney detailed to shutting down investigations and covering the tracks left by questionable operations — and a protégé of former CIA Director John Brennan. Is the weak and pliable AG Merrick Garland fronting for her running the DOJ now? Joe Biden is going to need a whole lot of fixin’. And, is Lisa Monaco actually still reporting to Barack Obama? He can also probably use a fix or two. Who knows what’s coming down the pike? Just maybe a loaded semi driven by the nearly forgotten John Durham?

MSNBC might have made an unforced error on Wednesday scripting 10 o’clock troll Lawrence O’Donnell to diss former AG William Barr — some jive about Mr. Barr trying to mess with Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s efforts back in 2018 to nail Mr. Trump on an obstruction of justice rap. Is this the time to piss-off Mr. Barr? You have to wonder. Is it possible that the FBI concealed its possession of the Hunter Biden laptop from Mr. Barr during those 2019 days of impeachment, when Mr. Trump was attempting to mount a defense for making a phone call to Ukraine? Who might be responsible for hiding that, if it were so? By the way, it was Mr. Barr who, just before resigning in late 2020, made John Durham a Special Counsel, whose work — whatever that might be, maybe nothing at all, maybe something consequential, nobody knows — can’t be blocked by Merrick Garland (or Lisa Monaco).

‘TRUTH’ With RFK, Jr. and Naomi Wolf: Fighting for Our Constitutional Rights • Children’s Health Defense

Posted by M. C. on March 9, 2021

CHD Chairman Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and author, journalist and former political advisor Naomi Wolf weigh in on the battle to maintain the rights put in place by our founding fathers.

https://childrenshealthdefense.org/defender/truth-rfk-jr-naomi-wolf-constitutional-rights/

By Children’s Health Defense Team

In the latest episode of “TRUTH” with Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., Kennedy sat down with the iconic Naomi Wolf for a spirited discussion on abuse of power, standing up to tyranny and preserving our Constitution. Wolf explained how tyrants always follow the same predictable route in their attempts to bring democracies to a close and how she believes our society has reached “Step 10” of her “Fascism in 10 Easy Steps.”

Highlights of their conversation include:

  • We’re reaching a point reminiscent of what led to the American Revolution: People were willing to die rather than give up their rights.
  • The Constitution wasn’t written for easy times but for emergencies such as the current COVID crisis.
  • Arbitrary restrictions are being put in place by those abusing emergency powers at local, state and federal levels.
  • In a free society, points are made and arguments won through free speech and open debate rather than censoring opinions that differ from ours.
  • Authoritarianism has no place in medicine although most liberals are accepting edicts promoted by Dr. Fauci and Bill Gates.
  • Direct-to-consumer advertising that started in 1997 marked the beginning of Pharma’s takeover of American media.
  • The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation neutralized once-independent media including The Guardian, NPR and public television through financial gifts.
  • Democrats are leading the “biofascism” charge.
  • There’s no science to back up the widespread suspension of our Constitutional rights.
  • Non-partisan grassroots efforts are gaining momentum and can preserve our freedom and prevent totalitarian takeover.

All “Truth” episodes can be found on Children’s Health Defense’s social media and on Children’s Health Defense’s channel found on Peeps TV, a network on Roku. Roku is accessible from any Smart TV and can be purchased separately for older TVs.
