Fisa court oversight: a look inside a secret and empty process
If there can be bright side to the NSA revelations it is when Obama and Clapper tell another whopper and the lie is exposed within a few days. It has been happening like clockwork. When criminals like these are caught I often do not what makes me more disgusted, the crime or how stupid the culprit was in getting caught.
Obama and Clapper are not stupid, they just don’t care. They think the unwashed masses will just buy their line. Most do unfortunately. Hopefully that will be changing with the growing abandonment of mainstream media use of the internet.
The bright light has been cast yet again by Glenn Greenwald and the Guardian. Glenn hold wasn’t kidding when he said there is much more to come.
Contrary to what Obama says the FISA court warrants are definitely NOT like you see in TV and the movies. Most warrants are for NOT individuals.
The targets are non-specific and widespread. The court is NOT MADE AWARE OF SPECIFIC TARGETS.
The NSA itself makes the decision on who or what gets spied on.
US citizens inside the US are actually a main focus.
Be seeing you

Obama is now being accused by civil libertarians of using the same policies he criticized as a candidate who ran on a platform of “change” from the policies of George W. Bush. However, defenders of Obama have responded that while Bush claimed a broad power as commander-in-chief to carry out his policies — including warrantless eavesdropping on U.S. citizens in the course of terrorism investigations — the Obama-era policies have been approved by courts and authorized by Congress. As has been observed earlier in his presidency, Obama turned out not to be a civil libertarian — and his critique of Bush had more to do with the lack of court and congressional authorization of early Bush policies, than with their content.
