Seymour Hersh on How Turkey’s Erdogan, Sarin Gas False Flags and Benghazi All Tie Together
Posted by Martin C. Fox on April 9, 2014
Seymour Hersh who gained fame by exposing the Mai Lai massacre, has been commenting lately on Middle East issues and media in general. His latest is The Red Line and the Rat Line.
What is a false flag? Say you wanted to blow up one of your own ships in Havana harbor in order to start a war or staging a fake sea battle in the Tonkin Gulf to facilitate escalation of war. These are false flag incidents.
Recall Obama was being lead down the path of war in Syria by the neocons because of sarin gas attacks in Syria. No opinion was put forth by UN inspectors regarding the origin of the gas. That did not stop the Obama administration, the State Department, the neocons and the compliant media, Bob Scheifer, NPR et al from blaming it all on the Syrian government.
Our Turkish friend Prime Minister Recep Erdogan was busy supporting Al Nusra Front and other jihadists. Hersh’s source says we knew Erdogan wanted to stage an incident in Syria that would get the US involved.
Contrary to what the public was told our military knew others besides Syria had dabbled in sarin. One notable other was Al Qaida. If you were listening closely you may remember hearing in the lamestream news of a Syrian rebel faction being caught with sarin. That quickly disappeared down the memory hole.
The US Britain and France were set to lower the boom on Syria when…
According to Hersh’s source a few days before the start of the attack British secret service analyzed samples of Sarin from the attack and samples from known Syrian supplies. No match.
This along with the feeling by US intelligence that a Syrian attack would be a giant blunder caused the attack to be put on hold.
The sarin gas attack in Syria is felt by intelligence to be a Turkish operation. Turkey’s Erdogan wants Syria out of the picture and he felt any halt to aid to the jihadist separatists would be curtains. A false flag op would do very nicely to prevent shutting off the spigots.
Hersch also talks about how our puppet friends in Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar were involved in what the CIA calls the Rat Line. This is a backdoor shipment of arms to Syrian rebels and Al Qaida jihadists.
How did this work? Libyan military leftovers were to be transferred to Syrian groups surreptitiously. Where did this happen? Yes, Benghazi. The whole purpose of the state department Benghazi outpost and the nearby CIA station was to funnel weapons to Al Qaida jihadists in Syria. Turkey as part of supplying jihadists was an arms transfer middleman and it was a cash cow for Erdogan.
The distress of the curtailment of the Benghazi arms transfer program may have been the reason Erdogan came up with the sarin gas ploy, to rev up US involvement.
March saw a youtube recording of Erdogan allegedly talking about a bomb attack (false flag) at the Suleyman Shah tomb site in Syria. The Tomb site belongs to Turkey. Recep Erdogan is no quitter.
According to Hersh’s source, outing Turkey’s mischief would be a political nightmare. Turkey is a NATO member (!) is quite willing to do favors for us, like torture people. Who knows what names may come out.
I wonder why a heavy hitter like Hersch is using the London Review of Books for a showcase? Apparently the “all the news that fits” newspaper has no room to fit anyone not playing by their rules.
Antiwar.com has some comments on Hersch’s scoop
Israel’s Unit 8200 electronic counterintelligence task force had intercepted the internal communications of the Syrian army commander on the scene and Damascus headquarters – and that the transcript proved conclusively the Syrian government had ordered the attacks.
The initial limited strikes proposed by the Pentagon were rejected and as D-day approached the target list kept expanding until it included most of the Syrian infrastructure. So much for Kerry’s “unbelievably small” air strike: what Washington had in mind amounted to nothing less than pulverizing the country, toppling the regime, and occupying the country.
In his (Rand Paul) famous confrontation at a Senate hearing the current frontrunner for the GOP presidential nomination asked Clinton: “Is the U.S. involved with any procuring of weapons, transfer of weapons, buying, selling, anyhow transferring weapons to Turkey out of Libya?”
“CLINTON: To Turkey? I will have to take that question for the record. Nobody has ever raised that with me.
Sarin gas attacks: Obama lies, John Kerry lies, Clinton lies, Israel lies, the military and CIA lie, the media lies.
No big surprises there.
Be seeing you
