But let’s back up: over the past couple of months, health authorities in the US and Israel connected rare instances of myocarditis – that is, inflammation of the heart – to the mRNA jabs produced by Pfizer and Moderna. After a hurried secret meeting with its advisors in late June, the FDA reluctantly released a warning about a “likely association” between incidences of myocarditis and the new side effects.
And now, a new twist: On Thursday evening, the Washington Post published a report claiming that the Moderna coronavirus vaccine may be associated with a higher risk of myocarditis in younger adults than previously believed. The report relies on new data from a Canadian study that has yet to be released.
How much more dangerous is the Moderna jab than the Pfizer? Well, the preliminary data leaked to WaPo show the risk of myocarditis might be as much as 2.5x higher for the Moderna jab.
The news represents the latest bump in the road for Moderna’s high-flying stock, as patients (especially younger men in their 20s and 30s deemed at highest risk to suffer the side effect) now have an incentive to prefer Pfizer’s jab over Moderna’s (if they still have any confidence in the mRNA jabs at all, that is).
WaPo’s sources stressed that the new research hasn’t yet been concluded, and that there’s still plenty of work to be done before the FDA decides whether to attach another warning label to the Moderna jabs. The sources also claimed that the new data “are not slam bang”.
The investigation, which involves the Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, is focusing on Canadian data that suggests the Moderna vaccine may carry a higher risk for young people than the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, especially for males below the age of 30 or so. The authorities also are scrutinizing data from the United States to try to determine whether there is evidence of an increased risk from Moderna in the U.S. population.
The two people who described the investigation spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss an ongoing review because they were not authorized to discuss it.
One of the people familiar with the review emphasized it is too early to reach a conclusion. The person said the agencies must do additional work before deciding whether to issue any kind of new or revised warning or recommendation about the situation. In June, the FDA added a warning label for the Pfizer and Moderna shots — both known as mRNA vaccines — about increased risk of myocarditis.
“We have not come to a conclusion on this,” one of the people familiar with the investigation said. “The data are not slam bang.”
The FDA and CDC both said they’re looking into the data. To be sure, WaPo notes that the side effects remain “extremely rare” – or at least “very uncommon.” Probably…
The myocarditis side effect is extremely rare and even if it is more likely in people receiving the Moderna vaccine, it probably is still very uncommon. Officials want to be careful not to cause alarm among the public, especially when officials are trying to persuade more people to be vaccinated amid a surge of cases fueled by the fast-moving delta variant.
So far, the FDA and CDC’s official position is that the threat posed by COVID is far worse than any threat posed by vaccine side effects, and that all Americans over the age of 12 should get the jab. But as with any recent scientific judgment, there are others in the community who disagree – some who believe that the risk of side effects for young people might just outweigh the risk of harm from contracting COVID, which – as we have reviewed before – is virtually nil.

Generations of punters have learned the hard way that their unwary greed is the tool the ‘Smart Money’ uses to separate them from their cash and capital.
The game is as old as the stock market: the Smart Money recognizes the top is in, and in order to sell all their shares, they need to recruit bagholders to buy their shares and hold them all the way down. Once the catastrophic losses have been taken by the bagholders, then the Smart Money slowly builds up positions amidst the wreckage.
It’s easy to become a bagholder; all you need is greed. Been there, done that, for the siren songs luring bagholders to their ruin are compelling and numerous. The Smart Money doesn’t have to mislead anyone; all they do is let the strident super-Bulls talk up the riches to be had by all those who buy today and hold indefinitely, and human greed does the rest.
Siren songs to lure the unwary greedy include these classics:
1. The Fed has our back, i.e. the Fed will never let stocks go down, so there’s no risk in buying more shares today.
2. Innovation stocks can only go higher as they create new industries that are the future of the economy.
3. Institutional buyers are coming in, and that means prices can only go higher.
4. This is a new era, old measures of valuation no longer matter.
5. Over time, stocks only go higher, so buy and hold is the winning strategy.
The greatest ally of the Smart Money is buy the dip, as the bagholders trained to buy the dip will continue buying every dip on the way down until their capital is expended. Bagholders see every rally off a dip as proof buy the dip works, when every rally off a dip has been engineered to suck in bagholders.
Every rally is another opportunity to sell for the Smart Money.
The greatest hindrance to the Smart Money selling is low volume. The main point of selling is to dribble out shares in such modest doses that the price doesn’t move. If a big block of shares is dumped all at once, then the price collapses in low-volume markets. So the Smart Money sells slowly and methodically, transferring 100 million shares over time to a million bagholders who each buy 100 shares.
When questioned, the Smart Money prevaricates with generalities rather than show their hands. The market is “constructive” and “supportive of equities,” etc., meaningless terms intended to mask their steady selling and lull the bagholders into a false confidence in the Fed, innovation leaders, buy the dip, this time it’s different, etc.
The Smart Money can count on one thing: greed is sticky. Once a bagholder has decided that Innovation-XYZ is their one-way ticket to unearned wealth–just look at all the newly minted millionaires who did nothing but trade call options in Innovation-XYZ–then the Smart Money knows the bagholder will never let go of that belief until there’s no more money to throw into call options.

If you’re like me and spend entirely too much time on Political Twitter you may have recently observed a bunch of people saying you shouldn’t post your opinion about the Afghanistan situation unless you’re an expert who has studied the nation’s dynamics in depth. Like an empire invading a nation and murdering a bunch of people for decades is some super complicated and esoteric matter that you need a PhD to have an opinion about.
You see fairly simple abuses framed as highly complicated issues all the time by people who defend those abuses. War. Israeli apartheid. My abusive ex used to go around telling people what happened between us was more complicated than I was making it sound.
Before he became Trump’s National Security Advisor in 2018 John Bolton faced a contentious interview on Fox News where he was criticized for his role in Bush’s invasion of Iraq, and he responded that “the point I think you need to understand is, life is complicated in the Middle East. When you say ‘the overthrow of Saddam Hussein was a mistake,’ it’s simplistic.”

Yeah, don’t you worry your pretty little heads about war. It will just confuse you, because it’s far too complicated to understand. These important matters should be left to men like John Bolton, who are consistently wrong about every foreign policy issue.
This carefully promoted idea serves only the powerful, and entirely too many people buy into it. You’ll even see dedicated leftists shying away from commentary on western imperialism in favor of domestic policy because they don’t feel confident talking about something they’ve been trained to believe is very difficult and complex.
Which is silly, because war is actually the easiest aspect of the oligarchic empire to understand. Murdering people with military explosives for power and profit is plainly wrong. You don’t need to be an Ivy League university graduate to understand this, and given the track record of Ivy League university graduates on this matter it’s probably better if you are not. A globe-spanning power structure loosely centralized around the United States orchestrates murder at mass scale to ensure perpetual domination of the planet. It really is that simple.
Now, you can spend the rest of your life studying the details of precisely how this is the case, but they’re just that: details about how this dynamic is taking place. And the same is true of the other aspects of the status quo power structure: they’re meant to look complicated, but what you actually need to know about them to orient yourself in our world is fairly simple.
The systems of capitalism are very complex by design, and a tremendous amount of thievery happens in those mysterious knowledge gaps on financial and economic matters where only the cleverest manipulators understand what’s going on. But the basics of our problem are quite simple: money rewards and uplifts sociopathy. The more willing you are to do whatever it takes to become wealthy, the wealthier you will be. Those who rise to the top are those who are sufficiently lacking in human empathy to step on whoever they need to step on to get ahead.
As a result we’ve had many generations of wealthy sociopaths using their fortunes and clout to influence governmental, media, financial and economic systems in a way that advantages them more and more with each passing year. This is why we are ruled by sociopaths who understand that money is power and power is relative, which means the less money everyone else has the more power they get to have over everyone else. They’ve been widening the wealth gap further and further over the years, a trend they seek to continue with the so-called “Great Reset” you’ve been hearing so much about lately.
You can spend the rest of your life learning to follow the money, studying the dynamics of currency, banking and economics, but what you’ll be learning is more and more details about the way the dynamic I just described is taking place.
Sociopaths rise to the top, the most powerful of whom understand that things like money, governments and the lines drawn between nations are all collective narrative constructs which can be altered in whatever way benefits them and ignored whenever it’s convenient. These powerful sociopaths tend to form loose alliances with each other and with the heads of government agencies as often as possible since it’s always easier to move with power than against it. So what you get is an alliance of depraved oligarchs with no loyalty to any nation using powerful governments as tools to bomb, bully and plunder the rest of the world for their own power and profit, and using mass-scale media psyops to keep the public from rising up and stopping them.
And that’s it, really. So simple it can be summed up in a few paragraphs. Don’t let elitists use the illusion of complexity to cow you out of talking about what’s going on in your world. You can see what’s going on well enough to begin speaking out, and the more you learn the more detailed the picture will become.
Speak. You are infinitely more qualified to comment on the way power is moving in the world than the people who’ve been consistently wrong about everything throughout their entire careers yet remain widely platformed by the oligarchic media. If John Bolton gets a voice, so do you.

Conservative MPs Johnny Mercer and Tom Tugendhat set Twitter alight with applause yesterday, after speaking in the House of Commons debate on Afghanistan. As women in Kabul were being forced into burqas, children were trying to escape on overcrowded planes, and shots were being fired on protesters in Jalalabad, these MPs were tearing up over the real victims: British veterans of the war.
For ex-soldiers Mercer and Tugendhat, the withdrawal from Afghanistan is a betrayal of their own hard work. These MPs tended to focus less on the conflict than on the ‘civilising’ aspect of the mission. Tugendhat, for instance, recounted his joy at opening a girls’ school. Mercer suggested that Afghan youngsters would be grateful for the brief window of non-Taliban rule – when Western armies patrolled the streets instead. ‘For a period of time… they would have experienced the freedom and privileges we enjoy here and no one will ever take that away from them’, Mercer said. I’m sure there are many teenage Afghans dreaming of better times – like back in 2006, when the sounds of British tanks filled the streets of Musa Qala.
But now that this ‘nation-building’ project has started to fall apart, Tugendhat’s main worry seems to be the effect this could have on veterans like himself. ‘This last week has seen me struggle through anger, grief and rage’, he said. It ‘has torn open some of those wounds, has left them raw and left us all hurting’.
Tugendhat slammed the government for not having the ‘patience’ to keep troops in Afghanistan for longer. Responding to those who recognised reality – that the West’s nation-building efforts had failed spectacularly – Tugendhat invoked his own form of army identity politics. ‘Those who have never fought for the colours they fly should be careful about criticising those who have’, he warned.
There is nothing surprising about politicians or ex-army officers trying to shape the narrative of Britain’s involvement in a war overseas. But the idea that we should shy away from criticising the war effort to protect the feelings of the soldiers who served in it reveals the narcissism of the interventionist mindset. Mercer spoke about the inspiration veterans drew from their ‘forefathers’, who fought ‘in the same amphitheatre’ in centuries past. ‘And you can be forever proud of what you did when the nation called’, he added. His description of Afghanistan as an ‘amphitheatre’ is revealing. But we shouldn’t all have to applaud at the end of the show. Podcast Afghanistan: a disaster made in the West spiked
The emotive displays put on by Tugendhat, Mercer and other ex-soldiers like Tobias Ellwood also reveal a great deal about the changing nature of the British Army. The army now puts out recruitment adverts calling for ‘snowflakes’, ‘me me me millennials’ and ‘phone zombies’. These are explicitly aimed at young people in ‘boring’ jobs in search of fulfillment. You could be forgiven for thinking that people trained to fight and kill at the command of the state were really being engaged in some kind of self-help programme. It is no wonder, then, that politicians talk about the destructive decades of Western involvement in Afghanistan as something to be ‘proud of’. The actual mission and its failure are irrelevant. What matters is whether it was fulfilling for the Western actors in the war.
Tugendhat argued that ‘forever peace is bought, not cheaply, but hard, through determination and the will to endure’. But how much longer should Afghans, Iraqis or Syrians expect to endure the West’s campaign for ‘forever peace’? Another 20 years? The mission of ‘nation-building’ has lasted from Tony Blair to Boris Johnson, and from George Bush to Joe Biden. It has led to thousands of deaths in Central Asia and the Middle East. All these efforts have failed to prevent the return of the barbarous Taliban. Heart-rending speeches by British politicians are not going to change that.

We appear to be entering a period of shame wars. Those who are vaccinated and are in favor of using government force to compel behavior are resorting to low-ball accusations of the unvaccinated being fools, stupid, or part of an epidemic of the unvaccinated as the President accused. They do not only seem gleeful at the prospects of using government force against the unvaccinated, they seem to want to do it today, to really bring the pain (see Australian totalitarianism).
On the other side, my side, we are responding with what I call a righteous counter-shame campaign against those in favor of using government force to compel behavior. My side, the right side of history, accuse the other side of being like the Nazi’s (they are) or like Stalin (they are) or like Mao (they are). We try to appeal to their remaining conscience, but sadly, there does not seem to be much left. Their fear of a 97% – 99.8% survivable pathogen has done them in, they’ve crossed over to the dark side, sacrificing their conscience along the way. They have lost their humanity and have become the predator, hunting down the unclean, verminous, squalid, untouchable unvaccinated.
So, while hoping there might be shred of decency left in the minds of the supporters of government force against innocent people, and in the spirit of charity, I have a favor to ask, a plea really.
Since for the moment, you hold all the power in government, media, and entertainment, can you at least tell us how far you intend to go? Like, are you okay with murdering us? Or, perhaps you just want us put in camps, like the sub-humans you apparently believe we are.
I’d like to get my affairs in order if you would be so kind to us sub-humans.
Watching how me and my family are described by policy leaders, spokesmen, and sociopaths on Twitter, I now feel, firsthand, what Blacks must have felt like as a slave owner zeroed in on them at the market; they must have hoped they got a good master. If you’re a supporter of government discrimination, will you be a good master to us who believe we can survive Covid-19 with our natural immune system?
Or, I now better understand how the Native Americans must have felt when they began the Trail of Tears. Or, how the Japanese must have felt and how they wished they could change the shape of their eyes so as not to catch the attention of whites who wanted to put them in internment camps.
Oh, please don’t parrot “How dare you? It’s not the same.” IT IS THE SAME.
I now understand legal, constitutional discrimination like I never did before.
I now see that to millions, freedom is the disease, not Covid. A disease to be eradicated, expunged from the vaccinated, booster driven new way of life. After all, who needs a natural immune system when we have Pfizer and Moderna?
Sadly, this pro use of government force community includes conservatives and Christians like Franklin Graham. Perhaps what we’re learning is that these conservatives and Christians were really just liars when they claimed to support freedom. In reality, I now understand them to be just another version of the slave owner with no hesitation to use the whip of the government to quell their fears of a pathogen with a 97% – 99.8% survival rate.

Doug Casey on the Real Story Behind Collapsing Supply Chains and What it Means for You

And in today’s world, a lot of them won’t even want to work. We’ll have an increasingly large number of what the communists call “useless mouths,” which can be easily transformed into what they call “useful idiots.” It amounts to a sociological time bomb.

International Man: The COVID hysteria and the shutdowns have caused supply chain disruptions. Central bankers and the media were quick to pin the blame for soaring inflation on these disruptions.
It seems like sophistry—a fallacious argument with the intention of deceiving. What is really going on here?
Doug Casey: Government officials always want to be seen as smart and action-oriented. Whenever anything untoward happens, they like to step up and pretend to be saviors.
Today’s public thinks that the government not only can but should run the world. The COVID hysteria is a custom-made excuse for them to do so. Unlike people who produce actual goods and services, however, government employees can only take other people’s property and tell them what to do.
Because the essence of government is coercion, they can solve problems only by creating more problems, and new problems provide excuses for more intervention, making the government look even more necessary.
COVID will go down in history as more than just another mass hysteria. It’s likely to be classed as an episode of mass psychosis. It’s the Salem witch trials times a million. It is even bigger than the Great Cultural Revolution in China. The public has been convinced that a dangerous—but relatively minor—virus is going to wipe out the planet, and now, on top of the virus, we have to deal with experimental vaccines, which are likely to be made mandatory, either directly or indirectly.
Vaccine mandates amount to lighting a stick of dynamite in a nitroglycerine factory. That’s true politically, economically, and perhaps medically.
International Man: In her recent comments about the state of the US economy, Secretary of the Treasury Janet Yellen said:
“There are also bottlenecks in certain supply chains, and mismatches between supply and demand have led to price increases. And yet, the data indicates that these mismatches will resolve with time as more businesses are able to keep up with demand.”
What do you think about the US government’s explanation for higher prices and the economic situation?
Doug Casey: Higher prices in today’s context are essentially a matter of monetary inflation—money printing. The Fed is printing up 120 billion dollars every month to fund the government’s deficits.
If you increase the number of dollars in circulation, of course prices are going to go up. And it’s not a so-called transitory phenomenon.
It’s interesting how “the narrative” works. A neat new word comes up and quickly becomes a popular meme. All the talking heads repeat it, reassuring each other. But this isn’t transitory; it’s growing and will get completely out of control. If they slow money-printing, they risk a wholesale deflationary credit collapse.
As far as the bottlenecks are concerned, the COVID hysteria created them. We still have about 9 million unemployed able-bodied people. Most were producing goods and services 18 months ago, but now they can stay at home, watch TV, and use their stimmy checks to gamble on RobinHood because they don’t have to pay rent. Something like 7.5 million households haven’t had to pay rent, and maybe 2 million haven’t had to pay their mortgages. Landlords are said to be out like $60 billion—they can sue, I guess, but that money has been frittered by deadbeat tenants, many of whom will soon be living on the street. But that’s another story…
In any event, less is being produced and more’s being demanded because of all the money being printed. But it gets worse. Modern economies have long and complex supply chains, where everything is expected “just in time” to cut inventories and improve efficiency. A problem arises if a force majeure eliminates a critical component. For instance, take a microchip for a car; cars have thousands of them, and if some are missing, the whole production line stalls. If Burger King can’t hire cooks because of COVID, meat-packers have to close production lines, cattlemen are stuck with cows, their feed producers don’t get paid, and ripples spread. “For want of a nail,” as Shakespeare noted in Richard III.
Mandates to be vaccinated—apart from creating antagonism—ensure many workers will quit, creating more bottlenecks.

The mask debate is again raging in the US, and again it is becoming a political football. Red state governors are attacked in the mainstream media for not re-imposing mask mandates while blue state governors where cases are increasing get a pass. So what’s it all about? Public health? Also today – the California recall is becoming a referendum on masks and mandates. Finally – should we import thousands of Afghans?
