Bait-&-Switch: How they’ve changed the Covid conversation – OffGuardian

Posted by M. C. on August 21, 2020

Actually, over the last week the UK’s covid death count has reduced by over 5000, thanks to a review which removed duplicates and mistakes (which OffG predicted would happen months ago). The case count is bloated by at least 30,000 duplicates too.

New Zealand has had 1600 cases, total, in 5 months. They haven’t had a reported death since May. But their country is on lockdown and their democracy on hold.

Even supposing the positive test is real, the vast majority of “cases” are asymptomatic. Between false positives, unreliable tests and asymptomatic infection, a “case” count for sars-cov-2 is borderline meaningless.

Do you remember five months ago? Normally I wouldn’t ask, but the world is moving incredibly fast these days.

Do you remember that it was predicted that covid19 would kill literally millions of people?

Do you remember that hospitals were going to be over-run with patients and our struggling medical infrastructure was going to collapse under their weight?

Do you remember that locking down global society was the only way to prevent this disaster? That we had to do it, regardless of how much damage it did to the livelihoods and security of countless millions of people?

Final question – do you know how many people in the United Kingdom officially died with (not of) the coronavirus yesterday?

It’s 12.

Twelve people. You probably didn’t hear about that, because sometime in the last five weeks or so the media completely stopped using the word “deaths”, and started talking only about “cases”.

A “case” is anyone who tests positive for Sars-Cov-2, using the notoriously unreliable PCR tests which produce huge numbers of false positives.

Even supposing the positive test is real, the vast majority of “cases” are asymptomatic. Between false positives, unreliable tests and asymptomatic infection, a “case” count for sars-cov-2 is borderline meaningless.

Let’s say there are symptoms AND a positive test, and assume they’re not just a false positive who has a cold or the flu. Well, even the vast majority of the “symptomatic cases” will only ever be mildly ill. In fact of the 6 million active cases in the world, only 1% are considered severely ill. The majority of them will survive.

The CDC estimates the infection fatality ratio of Sars-Cov-2 to be about 0.26%. A number perfectly in line with severe flu seasons. Virtually every country in Europe is now reporting average, or even below average, mortality.

Broadly speaking, the vast majority of the world is, and will likely remain, absolutely fine.

But things aren’t going back to normal, are they? In fact, they are getting worse. The governments have got their foot in the door, and they have no intention of moving it.

Masks are now mandatory in the UK, and Australia, and New Zealand, and Germany and France. And many others. The Democrat’s nominee for President, Joe Biden, has said they should be mandatory in the US as well.

There’s talk of “local lockdown” in Birmingham, because of a “sudden increase in cases”, but we get no details on the numbers are, or if that’s translating into any kind illness, let alone deaths.

The same for Oldham, which is on the brink of a “catastrophic lockdown” thanks to its infection rate of 83 people per 100,000. (Oldham has a population of about 250,000, so that’s about 200 cases.)

Actually, over the last week the UK’s covid death count has reduced by over 5000, thanks to a review which removed duplicates and mistakes (which OffG predicted would happen months ago). The case count is bloated by at least 30,000 duplicates too.

In New Zealand, the patron saint of coronavirus Jacinda Ardern has just postponed next months general election. It’s only a month, for now. But what if there’s a “second wave” in October and they have to postpone it again? Regardless, the precedent is set.

New Zealand has had 1600 cases, total, in 5 months. They haven’t had a reported death since May. But their country is on lockdown and their democracy on hold.

Oh, and they’re shipping positive tests (and their families) off to “quarantine centres”, where if you refuse to be tested, you will be detained indefinitely.

Australia is locking down cities, even imposing curfews, based on 450 deaths.

Every day there are more and more articles discussing the need for mandatory vaccination, or something even worse.

And everywhere the language is changing. “The New Normal” was about beating Covid19, but now it’s about “covid19 and future pandemics”, or the “other colossal challenges facing humanity”….which can mean literally anything they want it to mean.

All this is based on the ever-increasing number of cases, without any reference to the fact deaths are falling.

All the way through those of us calling for a measured, proportional response were abused or ignored. The numbers have shown we were right, but that doesn’t matter now. They scared people into giving them the power, then they set the precedent for using that power, and there’s no reason to think they will ever stop.

It used to be about “deaths”, now it’s about “cases”. It used to be about coronavirus, next time it will be about something else.

CDC Churches – LewRockwell

The CDC it should never be forgotten, is an agency of the U.S. federal leviathan—one of the most bloated, corrupt, and evil governments in history.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), it should never be forgotten, is an agency of the federal government under the umbrella of the Department of Health and Human Services.

The CDC’s official mission is:

CDC works 24/7 to protect America from health, safety and security threats, both foreign and in the U.S. Whether diseases start at home or abroad, are chronic or acute, curable or preventable, human error or deliberate attack, CDC fights disease and supports communities and citizens to do the same.

CDC increases the health security of our nation. As the nation’s health protection agency, CDC saves lives and protects people from health threats. To accomplish our mission, CDC conducts critical science and provides health information that protects our nation against expensive and dangerous health threats, and responds when these arise.

The CDC pledges to

  • Base all public health decisions on the highest quality scientific data that is derived openly and objectively
  • Place the benefits to society above the benefits to our institution
  • Treat all persons with dignity, honesty, and respect

But then there is the small matter of the coronavirus.

Here we have seen that the CDC ruins lives and businesses while pretending to protect people from a minimal health threat. The CDC ignores high-quality scientific data that does not line up with its agenda. The CDC has destroyed rather than benefited society. And the CDC only treats with dignity, honesty, and respect those who believe its dictates and obey its pronouncements.

The CDC it should never be forgotten, is an agency of the U.S. federal leviathan—one of the most bloated, corrupt, and evil governments in history.

One would think that churches in America—and especially conservative, evangelical churches—would be just a little leery of the CDC, and especially since the CDC thinks we need more sex education in schools and wastes taxpayer dollars on transgender beauty pageants, safe-sex events featuring a sex-video star, and pushing gun control.

Some churches are still closed because they have the coronavirus instead of the fear of the Lord. But many churches that are open are what I call CDC churches. Here are the characteristics of CDC churches:

CDC churches encourage or require their members to wear face masks.

CDC churches have every other pew blocked  off.

CDC churches deep clean and sanitize the inside of the church every week, not because it is dirty, but because they believe everything the news media says about the coronavirus.

CDC churches have ceased all congregational singing.

CDC churches no longer have nurseries for babies and young children.

CDC churches require people to register online to be able to attend services.

CDC churches limit the number of people in the choir to maintain social distancing.

CDC churches encourage their members to stay home if they may have come into contact with someone who may have come into contact with someone who might possibly have the coronavirus.

CDC churches have cancelled all potluck dinners.

CDC churches release their congregations by sections so the people can maintain social distancing as they leave the church.

CDC churches have cancelled all communion services.

CDC churches have cancelled all fellowship activities.

CDC churches no longer allow hand shaking.

CDC churches limit the number of members who can attend services.

CDC churches print hand-washing tips in their bulletins.

CDC churches no longer allow hugging.

CDC churches have installed hand sanitizer stations all over the church building.

CDC churches have signs posted throughout the church telling everyone to maintain social distancing.

CDC churches have turned off their water fountains.

CDC churches have quit passing offering plates.

CDC churches print CDC guidelines in their bulletins.

CDC churches no longer have Sunday School classes.

CDC churches have canceled all weekly Bible studies.

CDC churches check everyone’s temperature before they are allowed into church.

CDC churches have postponed all baptisms.

CDC churches have announcements on a screen before the church services about the need to maintain social distancing.

CDC churches are ready to close again on a moment’s notice if ordered to do so by a mayor or governor.

CDC churches believe that everything the CDC says is the gospel truth.

Not every CDC church does every one of these things, but they would probably do more of them if they could get away with it; that is, they would do even more of these things if they didn’t think that church attendance would drop off and offerings would fall.

Is your church CDC approved or God approved? Does your church have the fear of the coronavirus or the fear of the Lord?

A Double Whammy – LewRockwell

Posted by M. C. on July 6, 2020

https://www.lewrockwell.com/2020/07/laurence-m-vance/a-double-whammy/

By

“Now while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was stirred in him, when he saw the city wholly given to idolatry” ~ Acts 17:16

Many Christians recently received a double whammy of blasphemy and idolatry because the Fourth of July fell on a Saturday this year.

Most churches—and especially conservative, evangelical churches—usually have some kind of a patriotic service on the Sunday before the Fourth of July. If you have the misfortune of attending, there you will see the church building and the grounds around the church decorated with American flags, hear special prayers for the troops and government officials, see military personnel wearing their uniforms to church, recite the Pledge of Allegiance, see veterans recognized, read the church bulletin with an American flag on the cover, see men wearing cross and flag lapel pins, and sing hymns of worship to the state.

What happened this year is that some churches moved their patriotic services to Sunday July fifth since that is only one day removed from the fourth. But not being content with just one Sunday of blasphemy and idolatry, some churches also had in addition a mini patriotic service on the Sunday before the Fourth of July, hence the double whammy.

This may have consisted of just one hymn of worship to the state to open the service or the choir singing just a medley of patriotic songs rather than the whole service being devoted to singing hymns of worship to the state. The extra American flags may have been put up already.

What ended up happening in some cases is that the church didn’t announce that its patriotic service was being moved. Therefore, Christians who didn’t want to engage in corporate worship of the state who stayed home on the Sunday before the Fourth of July like they normally do were shocked to see idolatry and blasphemy on full display on July fifth when they weren’t expecting it. Their double whammy was different. They missed what probably would have been a normal church service and then had to unexpectedly sit through a patriotic service. Unless, of course, they got up and went back home or did something more spiritual like go to a park or the beach.

If the Apostle Paul were here today, he would see most of the churches wholly given to idolatry; that is, if they were open.

Some churches are still closed because they have the fear of the coronavirus instead of the fear of the Lord. Many churches that are open are what I call CDC churches because they consider all of the CDC guidelines to be the gospel truth: mask wearing, social distancing, etc.

But even in churches that no longer do these things and perhaps even never did any of these things, blasphemy and idolatry was still on full display during their patriotic services.

What makes patriotic services worse this year is that even though we are living through the greatest power grab, the greatest violation of civil liberties, and the greatest destruction of property rights by government at all levels (federal, state, county, city) in all of American history, most churches are still singing hymns of worship to the state and talking about how free America is while our freedoms are disappearing right before our eyes.

See this, this and this.
