Warning: One of These Monopolies is Going to Control You
Why are governments so interested in breaking up monopolies? To protect the biggest monopoly of all, the government.
The American people are skilled mental gymnasts. They can totally agree that monopolies in the private sector are bad. But monopolies on defense, law enforcement, courts, education, roads, and so on are perfectly fine, even necessary!
This comes down to the myth of the process. People have been convinced that since companies are motivated by profit, they are untrustworthy. James O’Keefe’s Project Veritas has released a follow-up to its exposé of bias at the New York Times earlier this week. This time, the target is YouTube, the ubiquitous video-sharing platform owned by technology giant Google.
Project Veritas picks up where the first video left off, in conversation with the Times‘ Audience Strategy Editor, Nicholas Dudich, a former Democratic campaign operative who was shown suggesting that his political views informed his work publishing Times videos on social media platforms. (The Times responded to that first video with a statement saying that Dudich had “violated our ethical standards and misrepresented his role” in editing video content, but admitting that “he was responsible for posting already published video on other platforms.”) Read the rest of this entry »

Google wants to control your thinking by more than controlling search results.
Google’s screening tool that enables people to check online whether they are clinically depressed could do more harm than good, one expert has warned.

Google has taken the unprecedented step of burying material, mostly from websites on the political right, that it has deemed to be inappropriate. The problem, however, is that the world’s largest search engine is a left-leaning company with an ax to grind.

Are organizations like Wikileaks really a threat to National Security? Or are they simply a threat to a small group of powerful people who make millions, billions, or even trillions of dollars via government secrecy?

But times are changing, thanks to efforts by a number of researchers, academics, journalists, whistleblowers and more, and information is rapidly spreading. So much so that internet censorship is on the rise, and platforms like Google and Facebook are now actually censoring information and deciding what is real and fake for the people, instead of letting people decide for themselves. A CBS news article published in 2011 entitled “Social Media Is a Tool of the CIA. Seriously” reveals the “unspoken truth” which the mainstream media including CBS have failed to address.
