Did the US allow ISIS to escape to keep the fighting going?

Posted by M. C. on November 22, 2017

Does this mean that we can expect considerable fumbling and a game with no exit strategy, something like a replay of Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya? You betcha.

Even the U.S. media has been reluctantly reporting that ISIS has been rolled back in Syria by the joint efforts of the Syrian Army and the Russian air force with the United States and its allies playing very much secondary roles in the conflict. The Russians have, in fact, complained that Washington seemed just a tad disinterested in actually cooperating to destroy the last remnants of ISIS in the few areas that the group still controls, citing most recently an alleged incident during the Syrian government liberation of the town of Abu Kamal in which U.S. air assets on site appear to have allowed ISIS fighters to escape. Quit Worrying About the Russians in Our Borderless World – Antiwar.com Original

Posted by M. C. on November 6, 2017

Is American society so fragile that a few “divisive” ads, news stories, commentaries, and even lies – perhaps emanating from Russia – threaten to plunge it into darkness?

While we the people are not deemed worthy of being shown the evidence that “Russia” – which I take to mean Vladimir Putin – was behind the so-called meddling, even if we grant it just for the sake of argument, what does it amount to? Read the rest of this entry »

Trump, Hands Off Iran

Posted by M. C. on October 17, 2017

The answer to many of the questions below is: It is what Israel wants and it is good for MIC business.

http://ronpaulinstitute.org/archives/featured-articles/2017/october/16/president-trump-beats-war-drums-for-iran/

President Trump has been notoriously inconsistent in his foreign policy. He campaigned on and won the presidency with promises to repair relations with Russia, pull out of no-win wars like Afghanistan, and end the failed US policy of nation-building overseas. Once in office he pursued policies exactly the opposite of what he campaigned on. Unfortunately Iran is one of the few areas where the president has been very consistent. And consistently wrong. The End of Empire

Posted by M. C. on October 6, 2017

I have had the same feeling. Things are going to be a lot different for the next generation.

https://www.truthdig.com/articles/the-end-of-empire/

Short of a sudden and widespread popular revolt, which does not seem likely, the death spiral appears unstoppable, meaning the United States as we know it will no longer exist within a decade or, at most, two.

This collective self-delusion saw the United States make the greatest strategic blunder in its history, one that sounded the death knell of the empire—the invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq. The architects of the war in the George W. Bush White House, and the array of useful idiots in the press and academia who were cheerleaders for it, knew very little about the countries being invaded, were stunningly naive about the effects of industrial warfare and were blindsided by the ferocious blowback.

Unworthy Victims: Western Wars Have Killed Four Million Muslims Since 1990   :    Information Clearing House – ICH

Posted by M. C. on August 29, 2017

Not much discussion on terrorist deaths. Apparently the number was too low to bother with.

We were told they would love us for “freeing” them. What happened?

http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article41491.htm

April 08, 2015 “ICH” – “MEE” – Last month, the Washington DC-based Physicians for Social Responsibility (PRS) released a landmark study concluding that the death toll from 10 years of the “War on Terror” since the 9/11 attacks is at least 1.3 million, and could be as high as 2 million.

For instance, although 40,000 corpses had been buried in Najaf since the launch of the war, IBC recorded only 1,354 deaths in Najaf for the same period. That example shows how wide the gap is between IBC’s Najaf figure and the actual death toll – in this case, by a factor of over 30.

Terrorism for Profit – Antiwar.com Original

Posted by M. C. on August 13, 2017

http://original.antiwar.com/robert-koehler/2017/08/11/terrorism-for-profit/

This is what war is all about.

At a recent, well-publicized meeting with his generals, Trump “lamented that China is making money off of Afghanistan’s estimated $1 trillion in rare minerals while American troops are fighting the war,” according to NBC News. “Trump expressed frustration that his advisers tasked with figuring out how the US can help American businesses get rights to those minerals were moving too slowly, one official said. …

“The focus on the minerals was reminiscent of Trump’s comments early into his presidency when he lamented that the US didn’t take Iraq’s oil when the majority of forces departed the country in 2011.”

Are American Wars Just and Moral? – LewRockwell

Posted by M. C. on July 26, 2017

https://lewrockwell.com/2017/07/patrick-j-buchanan/american-wars-just-moral/

In which of the countries we have attacked or invaded in this century — Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Libya, Yemen — are the people better off
than they were before we came?

And we wonder why they hate us.

Just like here at home it is about control. Not improving life.

The problem is there are fewer sheeple over there than here.

More On The Real John McCain

Posted by M. C. on July 25, 2017

https://lewrockwell.com/2017/07/jack-kerwick/real-john-mccain/

The truth, though, is that in exchange for the billions and billions of dollars that McCain has confiscated from them for well over three decades, taxpayers have received an ever-burgeoning administrative state, relentless illegal immigration from the Third World, and, of course, war—and all while McCain has pretended to be a “conservative.”

Thanks to his labors, hundreds of thousands of human beings, both foreign and American alike, are now dead. Read the rest of this entry »

Why Are We Attacking Syrians Who Are Fighting ISIS? – Collective Evolution

Posted by M. C. on June 19, 2017

http://www.collective-evolution.com/2017/06/15/why-are-we-attacking-syrians-who-are-fighting-isis/

What is this really all about? Why does the US military occupy this base inside Syria? It’s partly about preventing the Syrians and Iraqis from working together to fight ISIS, but I think it’s mostly about Iran. If the Syrians and Iraqis join up to fight ISIS with the help of Iranian-allied Shia militia, the US believes it will strengthen Iran’s hand in the region. President Trump has recently returned from a trip to Saudi Arabia where he swore he would not allow that to happen.

But is this policy really in our interest, or are we just doing the bidding of our Middle East “allies,” who seem desperate for war with Iran? Saudi Arabia exports its radical form of Islam worldwide, including recently into moderate Asian Muslim countries like Indonesia. Iran does not.

The US supports ISIS, Syria doesn’t.

ISIS fights Iraq, Iran and others that never attacked the US. The US supports ISIS, Saudi Arabia, Al Qaeda and Israel who have all attacked the US.

The foreign policy your taxes enable.

 It makes sense in Washington.
