North Korea Says It Might Negotiate on Nuclear Weapons. But the Washington Post Isn’t Reporting That.

NO NORMAL HUMAN being should ever have to read the Washington Post’s op-eds and unsigned editorials. But the Post’s words have a huge impact on the hive-mind of America’s foreign policy apparatus — and hence where we’re going to war next — so it’s important that someone normal pay attention and report back.

So as a quasi-normal person, I recommend you pay close attention to this, from a recent column by the Post’s deputy editorial page editor, Jackson Diehl, about North Korea: Read the rest of this entry »

Libertarian response to latest North Korean missile launch | Libertarian Party

Libertarian foreign and defense policy derives from the common-sense ideas of a vigorous defense of our own country against foreign aggression, coupled with refraining from interference in the affairs of other countries, and free trade with all.

Most Democratic and Republican politicians are at the beck and call of the military/industrial/security/intelligence complex and their K Street lobbyists.  Read the rest of this entry »

Why Didn’t the US Shoot Down That North Korean Missile?

Posted by M. C. on August 30, 2017

My guess is fear of failure.

So much for defending Japan. One of the many excuses for having military spread all over the planet.

North Korea launched another medium-range missile on Monday, this one right over Japan. Despite Defense Secretary Jim Mattis’ threats to shoot down missiles aimed at Guam and President Donald Trump’s Pyongyang-aimed bluster, the United States and Japan let it fly. Why?   Read the rest of this entry »

Everyone Is Wrong About North Korea — Here’s Why

(ANTIMEDIA Op-ed)  Imagine a world where one country – country X – is bombing at least seven countries at any one time and is seeking to bomb an eighth, all the while threatening an adversarial ninth state – country Y – that they will bomb that country into oblivion, as well. Imagine that in this world, country X already bombed country Y back into the Stone Age several decades ago, which directly led to the current adversarial nature of the relationship between the two countries. Americans once carpet-bombed North Korea. It’s time to remember that past.

Posted by M. C. on August 15, 2017

It was 64 years ago that North Koreans emerged from this war into a living nightmare, after three years of “rain and ruin” by the US air force. Pyongyang had been razed to the ground, with the Air Force stating in official documents that the North’s cities suffered greater damage than German and Japanese cities firebombed during World War II.

We decimated the population. They didn’t surrender, we didn’t win. Sound familiar?

Guam Fliers Aim to Prepare Islanders for Nuclear War – News From Antiwar.com

The sad fact is an empire building attack is what NK, Russia and any enemy du jour, on the other side of the planet, surrounded by US military bases has to live with. Now we are getting a taste.

Most victims, Russia, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Syria, never attacked US. Saudi Arabia did attack us and we shower them with arms and support.

Follow the oil sales money.

North Korea Nuke Attack- What- Me Worry?

what-me worry

Congress is currently considering expanding the U.S. national missile defense system, despite the fact that — nearly 15 years after the Bush administration began deploying it — it has not been demonstrated to work under real-world conditions and is not on a path to do so.

Any nuke missile launch is bad but why the big hubbub over the two or three NK might launch at once? I think the Pentagram doth protest too much.

Back in Cold War I we had Cray supercomputers that could track hundreds of Soviet missiles at once, separating fake from real and launching the missiles that would save the country. All very expensive.

What has happened? Probably nothing. I doubt the technology worked then, it doesn’t work now. Read the rest of this entry »

Endless Wars-Winning Is Not In The Plan

Posted by M. C. on August 2, 2017

https://www.lewrockwell.com/2017/08/patrick-j-buchanan/endless-wars/

Unless we believe Kim is a suicidal madman, his goal seems clear. He wants what every nuclear power wants — the ability to strike his enemy’s homeland with horrific impact, in order to deter that enemy.

Kim wants his regime recognized and respected, and the U.S., which carpet-bombed the North from 1950-1953, out of Korea.

A time for truth. U.S. sanctions on North Korea, like those voted for by Congress last week, are not going to stop Kim from acquiring ICBMs. He is too close to the goal line.

And any pre-emptive strike on the North could trigger a counterattack on Seoul by massed artillery on the DMZ, leaving tens of thousands of South Koreans dead, alongside U.S. soldiers and their dependents.

We could be in an all-out war to the finish with the North, a war the American people do not want to fight. Read the rest of this entry »

Trump Intel Chief: North Korea Learned From Libya War to “Never” Give Up Nukes

Posted by M. C. on July 31, 2017

https://theintercept.com/2017/07/29/dan-coats-north-korea-nukes-nuclear-libya-regime-change/

THE MEDIA IS NOW filled with headlines about North Korea’s missile test on Friday, which demonstrated that its ICBMs may be able to reach the continental U.S. What isn’t mentioned in any of these stories is how we got to this point — in particular, what Dan Coats, President Donald Trump’s Director of National Intelligence, explained last week at the Aspen Security Forum.

North Korea’s 33-year-old dictator Kim Jong-un is not crazy, said Coats. In fact, he has “some rationale backing his actions” regarding the country’s nuclear weapons. That rationale is the way the U.S. has demonstrated that North Korea must keep them to ensure “survival for his regime, survival for his country.” Read the rest of this entry »
