government mind-reading and mind-control, Emondi told Nextgov that won’t be the case…
I believe ‘government scientists’…won’t give it another thought.
By
Today, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency is selecting teams to develop a “neural interface” that would both allow troops to connect to military systems using their brainwaves and let those systems transmit back information directly to users’ brains…
While those capabilities might fuel conspiracy theories about government mind-reading and mind-control, Emondi told Nextgov that won’t be the case—scientists are only beginning to figure out how the brain’s 100 billion neurons interact, so controlling those interactions is next to impossible. Instead, he said it’s better to think of N3 technology as means to use to a computer or smartphone without a mouse, keyboard or touch screen…

Imagine a county sheriff that took a suspected drug-law violator into custody more than 10 years ago. Since then, the man has been held in jail without being accorded a trial. The district attorney and the sheriff promise to give the man a trial sometime in the future but they’re just not sure when. Meanwhile the man sits in jail indefinitely just waiting for his trial to begin.
Difficult to imagine, right? That’s because most everyone would assume that a judge would never permit such a thing to happen. The man’s lawyer would file a petition for writ of habeas corpus. A judge would order the sheriff to produce the prisoner and show cause why the prisoner shouldn’t immediately be released from custody. At the habeas corpus hearing, the judge would either order the release of the prisoner based on the violation of his right to a speedy trial or he would order the state to either try him or release him… Read the rest of this entry »

“We consider that to be a logistics function that’s quite appropriate” for the department, Mattis said.
Good practice for when the SHTF. Reserve your room now.

By Lolita C. Baldor
The Pentagon is preparing to build temporary camps for immigrants at two military bases, Defense Secretary Jim Mattis said Sunday.
He did not name the two bases, but said the details are being worked out, including how much capacity is needed. The Pentagon had initially talked about four potential bases, but Mattis indicated the number is now two.
The Pentagon last week said it would make space available on military bases for as many as 20,000 unaccompanied migrant children detained after illegally crossing the U.S.-Mexico border. It wasn’t clear Sunday if the housing would be limited strictly to children or if it would also involve families…

95,000 vehicles! How much of this ended up in Al Qaeda and ISIS hands? How much armament was “lost” (to Al Qaeda and ISIS)? On purpose depending the enemy du jour (Syria, Iran, the wrong variety Kurds).
How can you lose track of 95,000 vehicles without it being part of the plan? We always leave equipment in place for use by our “friends”. This makes it easier to come back when plans go haywire, which they usually do.
If the Afghan military is anything like the Iraqi military most of the recruits bail with their weapons and sell them or take their equipment and training and join ISIS.
Are you getting an inkling on why Afghanistan is worse than when we started after 15 years? If they only hadn’t attacked US…oh wait…they didn’t. If Iraq hadn’t…oh ya…they didn’t attack US either.

A new report from the Department of Defense Office of Inspector General (DoD IG) exposes even more fraud, waste and/or corruption in America’s ongoing war in Afghanistan. This latest report reveals that more than $3.1 billion of U.S. taxpayer funds provided to the Afghan Armed Forces from 2014 through 2017 was grossly mismanaged. Read the rest of this entry »

Spielberg and Bruckheimer are two Hollywood heavyweights considered by the DoD to be their most reliable collaborators.

I was going to call Mad Dog Mattis the king of the baldfaced liars. But on serious reflection he doesn’t have the polished, mercenary finesse of Bubba nor AlGore.
Now there was a team!

I think that what we’re looking for is a world where we solve problems, and we don’t shred trust. We don’t militarize features in the middle of international waters. We don’t invade other countries, in Russia’s case ‒ Georgia, Ukraine. That we settle things by international rule of law, you know, this sort of thing.

We’ve killed an astonishing number of people.
…The NDS contains several extraordinary statements. Yet none top this one: “Today, we are emerging from a period of strategic atrophy.”
What exactly is this supposed to mean? To atrophy is to waste away. Muscles atrophy from non-use, from too much sitting around and too little exercise. Read the rest of this entry »

http://www.theamericanconservative.com/articles/the-return-of-the-stinger-missile/
…Unsurprisingly, this has meant the U.S. military has essentially never had occasion to use the Stinger to any real effect. The current gaggle of wars, indeed, have been with enemies who have little or often no air force at all, which is a big part of why the Pentagon has moved away from training and fielding the missiles. They’re just not useful.
Which isn’t to say the Stinger missiles are all sitting in a warehouse somewhere. Quite the contrary, the Reagan administration was quite eager to get these missiles into the hands of U.S.-backed insurgencies, primarily the Afghan mujahideen (i.e. Al Qaeda-MCViewPoint) and the UNITA movement in Angola…
