It’s Over: CDC Says People Exposed To COVID No Longer Need To Quarantine

Posted by M. C. on August 12, 2022

And just like that, the hysteria was over, but at least we all “followed the science”

“Sorry you guys had to miss your grandmother’s funeral, but at least you don’t have to quarantine anymore!”

That may as well have been the message that the CDC put out on Thursday, conceding after years of micromanaging a “crisis” that those who are exposed to Covid no longer need to quarantine, regardless of their vaccination status, something which would have gotten you banned on all social networks in a millisecond if you dared to tweet just a little over a year ago.

New guidelines only recommend that people who have been exposed “wear a mask for 10 days” and get tested for the virus on day 5, according to the New York Times, a radical departure from the prior draconian measures which required self-imposed quaratines for as long as 14 days.

The CDC also doesn’t recommend staying at least 6 feet away from other people to reduce the risk of exposure, CNN noted. It’s a recommendation that boldly flies in the face of the scared sh*tless narrative the agency has been pushing.

According to the same report, the new guidelines also say that contact tracing “should be limited to hospitals and certain high-risk group-living situations such as nursing homes”. They also “de-emphasize the use of regular testing to screen for Covid-19, except in certain high-risk settings like nursing homes and prisons.”

And just like that, the hysteria was over, but at least we all “followed the science”

Greta Massetti, a C.D.C. epidemiologist, said Thursday: “We know that Covid-19 is here to stay. High levels of population immunity due to vaccination and previous infection, and the many tools that we have available to protect people from severe illness and death, have put us in a different place.”

According to Massetti and the Times, the new guidelines “emphasize the importance of vaccination and other measures, including antiviral treatments and ventilation.”

Erie Times E-Edition Article-Founders knew individual liberty does not trump the greater good

Posted by M. C. on October 31, 2021

The author left out TB and polio. What the author also left out was what your reaction might be if after receiving the polio vaccine you were told you could still get polio, you could still transmit polio and you would have to wear a mask for the foreseeable.

Maurizio Valsania Guest columnist

President Joe Biden has mandated vaccines for a large part of the American workforce, a requirement that has prompted protest from those opposed to the measure.

Meanwhile, a similar move in New York City to enforce vaccinations has resulted in more than a dozen businesses being fined for flouting the rules.

The basic idea behind the objections: Such mandates, which also extend to requirements to wear masks and quarantine if exposed to COVID-19, are a breach of the Constitution’s 14th Amendment, which states that ‘no state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States.’

The objectors ask: Aren’t mandates un-American?

As a scholar who has spent decades trying to unravel the hurdles that mark the beginning of this nation, I offer some facts in response to that question – a few very American facts: Vaccination mandates have existed in the past, even though they have similarly sparked popular rage.

No vaccination foe, no latter-day fan of the Gadsden flag’s ‘DONT TREAD ON ME’ message, would ever gain the posthumous approval of the American founders.

George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, Alexander Hamilton and the rest of the group cultivated different visions about America. But they agreed on one principle: They were unrelenting on the notion that circumstances often emerge that require public officials to pass acts that abridge individual freedoms.

Keen sense of civic duty Most of the founders, to begin with, were slave owners, not especially concerned about trampling over and abridging the rights of the persons they held in bondage. But even when they dealt with those they deemed to be their peers, American citizens, their attitude was rather authoritarian – at least by today’s standards.

In 1777, during the American Revolution, Washington had his officers and troops inoculated against smallpox. The procedure was risky. But for Washington, the pros outweighed the cons. It was an order, an actual mandate, not an option that individuals could discuss and eventually decide.

‘After every attempt to stop the progress of the small Pox,’ Washington explained to the New York Convention, ‘I found, that it gained such head among the Southern Troops, that there was no possible way of saving the lives of most of those who had not had it, but by introducing innoculation generally.’

During the summer of 1793 an epidemic of yellow fever struck Philadelphia, then the American capital. It shattered the city’s health and political infrastructure. Food supplies dwindled; business stopped. Government – federal, state and municipal – was suspended. Within just three months, 5,000 out of nearly 55,000 inhabitants died of the infection.

Public hysteria took off. Philadelphians at first pinned the outbreak on the arrival of refugees from the French colony of Saint-Domingue who were escaping that island’s slave revolution.

But there was also heroism. Black clergymen Richard Allen and Absalom Jones, for example, tirelessly transported the sick, administered remedies and buried the dead.

Urged on by Gov. Thomas Mifflin, the Pennsylvania state Legislature imposed sweeping quarantines. And almost everyone complied.

Henry Knox, then the U.S. secretary of war, didn’t object. Knox had fought during the Revolution. He had risked his life on many battles. He had developed a keen sense of what ‘civic duty’ means: ‘I have yet six days quarantine to perform,’ he wrote to President Washington, ‘which of the choice of evils is the least.’

‘Without a flinch’ The epidemic didn’t abate as quickly as expected. By September 1794 the yellow fever lingered in Baltimore, where it had spread from Philadelphia. In 1795 it reached New York City.

One John Coverdale, from Henderskelfe, Yorkshire, England, wrote President Washington a long letter. He advocated more drastic measures, including three weeks of quarantine and policemen strategically placed in every corner to hinder people from passing from zone to zone; and he wanted people ‘to carry with them certificates either of their coming from places not infected or of their passing the line by permission.’

In other words, a quarantine, lockdown and vaccine passports.

No politician we know of at the time considered such measures un-American. In May of 1796, Congress adopted, and President Washington signed, the first federal quarantine law. There wasn’t much controversy. In 1799, Congress passed a second and more restrictive quarantine law. President Adams signed it without a flinch.

‘Ambition’ versus public good So apparently it’s not certificates, quarantines and vaccine mandates that are un-American, as some maintain today.

The argument that individual rights trump the greater good is un-American, or at least out of step with American tradition. It’s an attitude that the founders would have put under the encompassing banner of ‘ambition.’

‘Ambition’ comes when individuals are blinded by their little – or large – egotisms and personal interests. They lose track of higher goals: the community, the republic, the nation. In the most severe cases, ambition turns anti-social.

Ambitious individuals, the founders were sure, are persons stripped of their membership in a community. They choose to relegate themselves to their solitary imagination. They have become slaves to their own opinions.

Alexander Hamilton was tired of being turned into the butt of endless accusations: ‘It shall never be said, with any color of truth, that my ambition or interest has stood in the way of the public good.’

When facing a quarantine, a mandate, or similar momentary abridgments of their liberties, many Americans today react the same way Hamilton did. Like Hamilton, they look beyond themselves, their opinions, their interests. They don’t lose sight of the public good.

Others remain ambitious.

UK MP Says “Important People” Shouldn’t Need To Quarantine Under COVID Rules | ZeroHedge

Posted by M. C. on June 25, 2021

YOU aren’t important but still it is all about YOU…and not in a good way.

Authored by Paul Joseph Watson via Summit News,

A Conservative MP inadvertently provided an insight into the hypocrisy of lockdown when he said that “people who are important” shouldn’t have to follow the same COVID-19 quarantine rules as the rest of the population.

MP John Whittingdale was speaking about special measures that allow UEFA officials and multi-millionaire football players to enter the UK to take part in the Euro 2020 final on July 11.

While ordinary Brits cannot even go on holiday to most destinations and have to quarantine on return, the government has changed the rules to enable VIPs with a “Euro 2020 invite” to avoid having to self-isolate or quarantine when they arrive in the country.

“The list of those allowed to bypass the government’s quarantine restrictions include executive members of UEFA, members of the council of FIFA and senior executives of the companies sponsoring Euro 2020,” reports Sky News.

Responding to the issue, Whittingdale told Sky News that ‘important people’ were exempt from the restrictions.

Important for football or “morally inconsistent”?

UEFA and FIFA officials will be allowed into the UK to attend the #Euro2020 finals. But is that fair when we can’t visit many of our holiday destinations?

Here’s what the media minister John Whittingdale thinks.#KayBurley DC pic.twitter.com/uBXLWv9qjL — Kay Burley (@KayBurley) June 23, 2021

“We’ve always said that for some people who are important, players, for instance…” said Whittingdale.

Host Kay Burley responded: “So people who want to go on holiday are not important. Is that what you’re saying?”

The MP then attempted to deflect by saying the measures were only lifted for a limited number of people.

“And just in case you don’t want to watch the video…..the answer isn’t that they think you are important,” responded one outraged viewer on Twitter.

This once again underscores the fact that COVID-19 restrictions don’t apply to the elite.

As we have previously documented, there are innumerable examples of politicians and elitists brazenly violating the same stifling rules that they imposed on everyone else.

Two-tier societies are emerging, with dwindling rights for the unvaccinated. Why do governments consider them such a threat? — RT Op-ed

Posted by M. C. on June 12, 2021

The jab protects one person: the jabbed. That’s it. And no one should be ostracized or inconvenienced as a result of making a different choice for whatever reason. This highly personal medical decision is being misrepresented as some kind of collective necessity and is marginalizing those wanting to make a choice that’s different from the one that governments are pushing.

https://www.rt.com/op-ed/526310-vaccine-two-tier-society/

By Rachel Marsden, columnist, political strategist and host of an independently produced French-language program that airs on Sputnik France. Her website can be found at rachelmarsden.com

While the authorities keep saying that Covid-19 vaccination isn’t obligatory – at least, not yet – good luck trying to live a normal life without it. It’s clear the ostracization of those who haven’t had the jab is well underway.

Last year, at this time, Covid-19 cases fell significantly without any substantial measures, as everything opened up for the summer and the powers-that-be in some countries allowed life to return to normal for a few months, all in the absence of vaccination.

This year, exactly the same phenomenon observed in 2020 is being attributed to mass inoculation. The narrative is that this is what’s saving us from Covid. And now the pressure’s on to force everyone into compliance, lest they want to live any semblance of normal life, beginning with summer travel.

Holiday options are shaping up to be quite different, depending on whether you’re vaccinated or not. France is now exempting vaccinated travelers from Europe and zero-Covid countries from quarantine and testing. But even vaccinated travelers from the US and elsewhere need to produce a negative test result before their flight, which begs the question, if the vaccine is so reliable, why do you need to test at all?

Unvaccinated travelers from outside Europe aren’t allowed to come to France for tourism. And if they must, for an imperative reason, a pre- and post-flight test and seven-day quarantine is imposed on arrival.

Canada currently forces its own returning citizens – the only travelers for whom the border is open – to quarantine in a government-designated facility at the traveler’s prepaid expense of up to $2,000, where they await a negative test result before completing the remaining 14-day quarantine at home. The hotel quarantine could be scrapped sometime this summer, but only for fully vaccinated returning Canadians – despite the fact that a scientific expert panel advised the government to drop the hotel quarantine altogether.

So, hassle-free travel to these countries and others is almost fully dependent on vaccination, even though these same governments have so little faith in the jab itself that they still require vaccinated travelers to be tested unless they’re coming in from a place where Covid-19 is so rare as to be virtually non-existent. Makes you wonder what the point of vaccine-based travel restrictions are if they’re viewed as so shoddy they can’t be trusted to prevent spread.

These rules reflect what we’ve already been told: that the vaccine doesn’t prevent disease or transmission, but rather reduces the likelihood of severe illness in the relative few who may have been prone to it.

Nor is the vaccine seemingly enough to allow life to go back to pre-pandemic norms in some places, even as the annual virus season draws to an end and summer ramps up. While some countries’ swimming pools and gyms are back to relatively normal capacity and use, others are still making patrons sign up for limited time slots and swim up one lane and down another in order to maintain social distancing between length swimmers – presumably, so they don’t risk infecting someone while breathing during front crawl.

Meanwhile, some American and Canadian universities are requiring Covid vaccination as a condition of attendance this fall. Why is all this necessary when it doesn’t stop transmission and anyone who’s worried about getting a serious form of Covid has already had the shot?

A medical advisory panel in France is also recommending that the vaccine be obligatory for certain public-facing professions and for school kids. This effectively means that any individuals who choose not to vaccinate – either because they already have natural immunity from the disease or figure that what they risk from the disease isn’t worth the potential long-term risks of taking a vaccine based on new, experimental technology – are going to find themselves with limited options.

There’s absolutely no justification for forcing anyone to vaccinate – for travel or otherwise. This mantra being bandied about that everyone has to do their part and take the shot in order to protect others is just total nonsense. The proof is in the lack of confidence that governments themselves are showing this summer by demanding that even the fully vaccinated take Covid tests.

Since self-protection from serious forms of Covid-19 is in the hands of each individual, why exactly is the individual who chooses differently considered such a threat?

UK COVID Police State: Travelers Must Quarantine In Hotel, Have 3 Tests, Face 10 Years Jail For Avoiding “The Law” | ZeroHedge

Posted by M. C. on February 11, 2021

https://www.zerohedge.com/covid-19/uk-covid-police-state-travelers-must-quarantine-hotel-have-3-tests-face-10-years-jail

Tyler Durden's Photoby Tyler DurdenThursday, Feb 11, 2021 – 3:30

Authored by Steve Watson via Summit News,

Anyone traveling to Britain from a country on the government’s ‘red list’ must quarantine in a hotel (which they will have to pay for), and have THREE COVID tests, under draconian new laws being implemented by the government.

The unprecedented and sweeping new rules were announced by Health Secretary Matt Hancock, who said that he makes ‘no apologies’ for such severe measures.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/embed/video/2351706.html

From Monday anyone entering the country will have to pass three PCR tests in order to be allowed any freedom inside the country after they have completed a ten day quarantine at a government selected hotel, at a cost of almost two thousand pounds.

Security guards will be stationed throughout the hotels, with police on standby if those inside try to leave before their release date.

Hancock said that anyone caught breaking their quarantine could be fined ten thousand pounds, while anyone caught lying about coming from a COVID ‘hotspot’ could be jailed for up to a decade.

Even those not coming from one of the 33 ‘red list’ countries, and arriving from elsewhere, will have to test negative before being allowed to travel, then quarantine at their home address for ten days and allow authorities to ‘check that they are obeying the rules’.

COVID tests, which cost more than £100 each, will be required on day two and day eight of isolation, and must be booked through a new government portal in advance of travel, according to the new law.

If the tests are positive, a further ten day quarantine will be mandated.

Failure to comply with the testing will incur fines of £1,000 the first time, and £2,000 the second time.

Hancock noted “This includes a £1,000 penalty for any international arrival who fails to take a mandatory test, a £2,000 penalty for any international arrival who fails to take the second mandatory test, as well as automatically extending their quarantine period to 14 days, and a £5,000 fixed penalty notice – rising to £10,000 – for arrivals who fail to quarantine in a designated hotel.”

Anyone hoping to escape the crackdown via booking travel through a budget or less thorough carrier will likely be disappointed as Hancock announced that “Passenger carriers will have a duty in law to make sure that passengers have signed up for these new arrangements before they travel, and will be fined if they don’t.”

However, an aviation source told reporters yesterday

“We’re completely in the dark. We don’t know yet whether the Government will want us to deny boarding,” to people who haven’t presented test results or booked into a quarantine hotel.

Airports in the UK have also expressed concern about how the rules will be enforced, with a Heathrow spokesman noting “ministers need to work with industry to establish how this policy will actually be implemented at the border.”

Border staff have also said they have not been told anything, with one immigration officer noting “This is all likely to be honesty-based though. Short of us physically getting off the arrivals desks and phoning the hotels to check that those individuals have booked into them, we have no way of confirming.”

Hancock gave no indication of how long the new laws would remain in place, however members of the UK government’s Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (SAGE) have suggested that lockdowns could last for “several years”.

Conservative MPs who oppose the current nation-wide restrictions slammed Hancock in the House of Commons, warning that the country faces a ‘forever lockdown’.

MP Mark Harper asked “When is this policy going to end, if ever? Because if the virus continues to mutate, surely the risk is going to be there forever and so when can it be removed?”

SAGE has also suggested that in addition to the forced quarantines, those entering Britain, including citizens could be tracked using the GPS on mobile phones.

The notion was previously raised by a Conservative MP last month.

Criminal NY governor declares new fascist COVID rules « Jon Rappoport’s Blog

Posted by M. C. on November 5, 2020

“Most people who visit New York will have to quarantine for three days and then prove they are negative for COVID-19 before they are ‘free to go about their business,’ Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Saturday.”

https://blog.nomorefakenews.com/2020/11/03/criminal-ny-governor-declares-new-fascist-covid-rules/

by Jon Rappoport

Face it, if the NY governor hadn’t been born into the family of Cuomo, if his father hadn’t been the governor of NY, he’d have emigrated to China where he’d be sweeping streets for a living. In Beijing, he’d be under 24-hour surveillance as a crazy man who might go off and do something bizarre and harmful.

Chinese security man staring at a screen: “Who’s that idiot on the corner poking people with his broom?’

Colleague: “Oh, that’s Cuomo, the American. He loves our system. He moved here a few years ago. We’ll leave him alone for now. He’s good press for us. We can say, ‘See, that’s what Americans are like.’”

NY Governor Andrew Cuomo is presiding over the lockdown death of his state, and of NY City. Many of his rich citizens are bailing out of NY with their tax money and moving to Montana and other points west and south. Soon, NY, minus billions in tourist dollars, will be collecting so few taxes they wouldn’t fill a single garbage pail on a desolate boarded-up city street.

NY, another Democrat share-and-care-and-love state, is hitting new highs on boot-clicking and saluting and fascist clampdowns.

The NY Post has the story:

“Most people who visit New York will have to quarantine for three days and then prove they are negative for COVID-19 before they are ‘free to go about their business,’ Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Saturday.”

“Now, travelers must show proof of a negative test taken within three days of arriving in the Empire State, and must also quarantine for three more days — and get a new COVID-19 test on the fourth.”

“If that’s positive, they must isolate for two weeks, the governor said at an Albany press briefing.”

“’Four days plus three days is seven days, and that’s basically, by all probability, the incubation period,’ Cuomo said, as he announced 2,049 new cases across the state and 8 deaths reported yesterday.”

“Anyone who refuses to be tested must quarantine for 14 days.”

“New Yorkers who return home within a day of leaving must take a test within four days of their arrival, Cuomo said. But if they are gone longer for 24 hours, then the new rules apply.”

“Those who commute to New York between bordering states are not required to be tested each trip, he noted.”

He noted, he declared, he announced, he ordered. Achtung!

What if my first two tests are indeterminate and the third test is negative but the fourth test is weakly positive and the fifth test is definitely negative but the sixth test is positive? Do I stay in quarantine in a fleabag hotel for three weeks or six weeks or a year? What if I start seeing cockroaches from the sixth dimension invading my baloney sandwich? Who do I call? Ghostbusters? I thought I was just taking a cheap flight to the City to see the Empire State Building and Central Park. I didn’t realize I’d be marked as a political prisoner. Do I get one call to a lawyer?

Damn, the Democrats missed their golden chance. They should have run Cuomo for president instead of old crazy Joe. Cuomo would show the country what law and order really looks like.

Within 24 hours of taking over the White House, he’d have checkpoints on every interstate highway in the land. He’d bring in Chinese and Australian and UK cops to man them.

“Sir, get out of the car and show us your proof of a negative PCR test taken within the past 48 hours. Open your trunk. Empty your pockets. Are you carrying cash? We’ll take it. We have to test it for the virus. You’ll get it back within two weeks. Where’s your cell phone? We need to transfer all the data to our center in Utah. Write down a list of your 50 closest contacts. Lying is a federal offense. Look straight at me. I’m taking your photo…”

Congratulations, New York. You elected an empty name, Cuomo, as your governor, in your Billy Joel New York State of Mind.

Wake up and smell the slavery. Suck it in through your masks.

‘Pandemic’ Equality: All But the Ruling Class Will Be Equal Slaves – LewRockwell

Posted by M. C. on August 15, 2020

Yes, equality is coming to America. There will be two classes of people, the ruling oligarchs at the top, and all others at the bottom. Equal masters and equal slaves living in the new world order paradigm that I call technocratic communism.

“The whole commerce between master and slave is a perpetual exercise of the most boisterous passions, the most unremitting despotism on the one part, and degrading submissions on the other. Our children see this, and learn to imitate it.”

Thomas Jefferson, Jean M. Yarbrough (1963). “The Essential Jefferson”, p.130, Hackett Publishing

https://www.lewrockwell.com/2020/08/gary-d-barnett/pandemic-equality-all-but-the-ruling-class-will-be-equal-slaves/

By

“There is in fact a manly and legitimate passion for equality that spurs all men to wish to be strong and esteemed. This passion tends to elevate the lesser to the rank of the greater. But one also finds in the human heart a depraved taste for equality, which impels the weak to want to bring the strong down to their level, and which reduces men to preferring equality in servitude to inequality in freedom.”

~ Democracy in America”. Book by Alexis de Tocqueville. Chapter III, Part I, 1835.

The big public push, or more accurately warning, by government and media has now been ramped up to a very high-level propaganda campaign. The announced second ‘virus’ stage that has not happened yet, is being telegraphed in order to prepare the sheep for even more tyranny and police state tactics. This is meant to condition the minds of the public that a health disaster is coming, and that extreme measures will be necessary in order to protect the lowly and ignorant Americans. This is not a prediction mind you, but an absolute certainty according to the powers that control this false narrative.

The previous six months of lockdowns, isolation, quarantine, mandated mask-wearing, job loss, and economic destruction were purposely manufactured so that a planned second phase could be released on the public just as the normal flu season begins. These past six months were nothing more than a set up as a plan to weaken most of the population in this country, allowing for more sickness than normal once cold weather arrives. Those in control did this to knowingly weaken the immune systems of most all in this country, which will lead to a much higher level of sickness and disease just when the ruling class and government need it to advance their agenda of total control. Fear mongering will increase exponentially, and as the flu season advances, so will the totalitarian response by the claimed authorities, and all enforcement will become much more brutal and oppressive. One look around the world will alert any paying attention as to what is soon coming the U.S.

In Australia, police brutality and dictatorial state measures are now out of control, and that type of authoritarian madness will soon consume the U.S. Curfews in Melbourne go from 8pm to 5am, as if this fake virus just comes out at night. Cyclists are forced to have papers, park visits require permits, sniffer dogs are patrolling in public locations, and forced vaccinations are a few of the things going on today. But it gets much worse. Police have been given state authority to enter homes without permission or warrant. Unlawful stops and testing of citizens for alcohol is normal, strip-searching is becoming common in New South Wales, there is horrendous and brutal treatment, including throw downs for any not wearing a mask, and breaking out car windows and removing occupants by force are common practice. This list barely scratches the surface of what is happening and what is to come.

Travel bans are becoming universal, and Americans are getting ever closer to being fully locked inside the walls of this country. An American passport is virtually worthless now, and that was certainly one of the agenda items sought by these cretins perpetrating this fraud. The U.S. Department of ‘Homeland Security’ has extended a ban on travel with Canada and Mexico until late September, virtually shutting off North American travel.

It is important to understand that this insanity in my opinion is staged, and is not what it is claimed to be. While total deaths were similar or less in 2019 and so far in 2020, than in 2017 and 2018, the lies continue about Covid. False death certificates, hospital bribery for claiming more Covid patients, faulty testing, closings of many hospitals when claims of hospital shortages were reported, building of special medical facilities that were never used, wild exaggeration of the predicted deaths, and false causes of death attributed to people dying have been evident. Other than the lies coming from the government and the mainstream media, is there any factual evidence available that would indicate that any pandemic really exists? I have seen no convincing evidence whatsoever that would support the state narrative.

I do firmly believe that what has happened to date concerning this fraudulent crisis will pale in comparison to what is coming in the next few months. The stage is set for a much higher rate of death this winter and spring than we have seen. This has been planned, and all the measures put into place since March have dramatically weakened the health and immune systems of most all Americans. This will guarantee a more devastating flu season, and with continued isolation practices, mask wearing, quarantine, job loss, poverty, and much increased suicide, these higher death numbers will be falsely blamed on coronavirus, and used to bring about a dictatorial police state. And even in this chaotic time coming, the claimed rich elite and their pawns will continue to gain wealth, while the rest of us lose everything. The great wealth transfer will continue while the world suffers under the thumb of tyranny.

In the midst of all this, there will be a very major distraction that will turn this country upside down, and cause much more civil unrest, looting, property destruction, and extreme violence. That distraction is another worthless presidential election that may or may not ever get settled. Regardless of the outcome, the division and hatred among us will only escalate; causing more fear, panic, and savage behavior that could lead to outright martial law. This is what the future holds if this planned virus coup is allowed to continue.

The next round of this planned pandemic will bring with it much more aggressive enforcement by the state goons. There will be many more arrests, increasing fines for any behavioral missteps, much more police brutality, and very controlled lockdowns. Concentration-like centers will be used to isolate those that test positive for Covid that are subject to quarantine, families will be separated, forced isolation will dramatically increase, and this will lead to the release of a poisonous vaccination claimed as the way out. This untested vaccine will be deadly, could have any of several unknown agents inserted, tracking capability, or invasive nano-particle materials designed for gene-altering or more extensive population control. Regardless of any side effects or harm caused by a toxic vaccine, those companies developing, designing, and delivering this concoction will be ‘legally’ exempt from prosecution or monetary liability.

Will It Take Food Shortages to End Support for the Shutdown? | Mises Institute

Posted by M. C. on April 29, 2020

BBC images from India show the heartbreaking human toll of the unprecedented decision simply to stop human work activity due to an infectious disease. Americans should take note, and soon.

https://mises.org/power-market/will-it-take-food-shortages-end-support-shutdown?utm_source=Mises+Institute+Subscriptions&utm_campaign=74533e8c5c-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_9_21_2018_9_59_COPY_01&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_8b52b2e1c0-74533e8c5c-228343965

Jeff Deist

Americans are uniquely privileged, to the point of simply imagining they can stay home for months and months without suffering severe economic hardship as a result. Our unique privilege is delusion, the mentality that America is rich and will remain rich without particular effort on our part. Abundance simply materializes around us, regardless of incentives, and the job of politicians is to rearrange this abundance more equitably.

Polls such as this one showing widespread American support for quarantines and business shutdowns are evidence of this American privilege. Eighty percent of respondents think shutdowns by various state governors are justified as a response to the COVID-19 virus, and one-third support extending closure for another six months!

This reflexive and unthinking complicity from the American public is partially explained by media hype, of course, over an illness which at this writing has killed fewer than sixty thousand Americans. Fear and hysteria always sell. The press clearly wants the coronavirus to be a major event, one that unseats Trump in the fall. (For its part, the administration is doing a terrible job, starting with the awful Dr. Fauci, whom the president should have sacked months ago.) And clearly the various governors’ responses are wildly out of proportion to the actual public health threat, even if initially well intentioned due to sheer uncertainty of the virus’s lethality.

But something far more fundamental is at work here. Americans simply fail to understand, or even much think about, the fragility of distribution chains and the goods and services we rely on. Earlier this week the chairman of conglomerate Tyson Foods warned that disruptions at processing plants could create very serious shortages of beef, chicken, and pork in US grocery stores, and decimate livestock farmers. And of course this was bound to happen as the dominos fell: the shutdowns would not only impact “nonessential” goods, but everything.

Who didn’t see this? Will it take outright food shortages to make Americans change their minds about whether the shutdown is “worth it”?

We only need look at India for an example of what business and work shutdowns create in a country without  as much existing wealth to consume, where far more people live close to the bone. The national work moratorium ordered by Prime Minister Modi has sent millions of migrant workers and unskilled laborers into very real danger of starvation. Already living hand to mouth and penniless, their jobs essentially banned, many have taken to walking hundreds of miles in 100-degree heat to their home villages—in hopes of being fed by their families. In a country with widespread poverty and depressingly little per capita capital investment, the shutdown is a death sentence for many. Without much capital accumulation, Indians have little savings and few investments to consume when income grinds to a halt. And India is hardly the only poor country at risk and needing food relief; one NGO official warns of “biblical” famines across thirty underdeveloped nations if supply chains continue to be disrupted and charitable economic aid dries up:

“We are not talking about people going to bed hungry,” he [David Beasley of the World Food Programme] told the Guardian in an interview. “We are talking about extreme conditions, emergency status—people literally marching to the brink of starvation. If we don’t get food to people, people will die.”

This is what poverty really means: having little or no cushion of wealth for an emergency. Poverty is best defined as a lack of savings and resulting capital, leaving people totally dependent on new and consistent income to survive. It is a condition only capital accumulation can improve. And yet “capitalism” is blamed for the unfolding tragedy before us:

Will stories like this finally make Americans understand the severity of the situation? BBC images from India show the heartbreaking human toll of the unprecedented decision simply to stop human work activity due to an infectious disease. Americans should take note, and soon.

Quarantine Meditations: Notes From The Edge Of The Narrative Matrix – Caitlin Johnstone

Posted by M. C. on March 24, 2020

FYI if your government is pushing the suspension of civil liberties before coming up with a healthcare plan or providing you with financial security in an unprecedented economic crisis, then their desire to suspend civil liberties has nothing to do with fighting the pandemic.

Powerful people will work to advance authoritarian agendas which they have no intention of reversing during this pandemic. They are working on it right now. This is not a possibility, this is a certainty.

Sanctions are the only form of warfare where it is considered legal and acceptable to deliberately target a civilian population with deadly force. That’s what they’ve been doing this whole time. It’s what they want. The pandemic only helps them.

Maybe I just oppose warmongering.

https://caitlinjohnstone.com/2020/03/24/quarantine-meditations-notes-from-the-edge-of-the-narrative-matrix/

The world is messed up because powerful people think in terms of narrative control, and ordinary people don’t. Change that and you change the world.

~

Hot tip: Dump all stocks and invest in becoming the kind of decent human being who people will want to help in chaotic times.

~

Let’s go humans! The sooner we can put aside our differences all around the world and unite to beat this virus the sooner we can get back to exploiting each other over an imaginary monetary system and murdering each other with bombs!

~

FYI if your government is pushing the suspension of civil liberties before coming up with a healthcare plan or providing you with financial security in an unprecedented economic crisis, then their desire to suspend civil liberties has nothing to do with fighting the pandemic.

~

Protecting the citizenry in situations like this is the thing governments are supposed to be for. It’s the single most compelling argument for their existence, by a very wide margin. Any government which doesn’t take good care of its people right now does not deserve to exist.

~

If this virus hasn’t yet caused you to seriously re-evaluate your priorities in life, it should. For better or worse we appear to be standing on the brink of some very significant worldwide paradigm shifts. Where you choose to put your mental energy right now should reflect this.

~

Powerful people will work to advance authoritarian agendas which they have no intention of reversing during this pandemic. They are working on it right now. This is not a possibility, this is a certainty.

I love that so many people are pleading with the Trump administration to end Iran sanctions during the pandemic because it’s killing civilians, but it won’t work. They know it’s killing civilians, and they know it will kill a lot more. That has always been the objective. Pompeo has openly admitted that Iran is being sanctioned no so that its government will change its behavior, but so that the Iranian people will get so desperate from all the suffering and devastation that they rise up and overthrow their government.

Sanctions are the only form of warfare where it is considered legal and acceptable to deliberately target a civilian population with deadly force. That’s what they’ve been doing this whole time. It’s what they want. The pandemic only helps them.

Every single Iranian who is dying because of these sanctions is on Trump. The MAGA narrative that he’s better on war than Obama has been thoroughly invalidated by every metric.

~

Humanity is uniting against this common crisis. We’re uniting in our desire to beat this virus and protect our more vulnerable populations, and in a shared awareness that this thing could technically kill any of us. If ever there was a catalyst for a shift in consciousness, this is it.

~

We appear to be watching a confluence of factors on a trajectory to push the world toward vast changes which may leave it unrecognizable in some ways within a matter of months. Maybe we don’t need to pour as much mental energy as we used to into sectarian infighting and petty social media spats.

~

Nothing’s the same and it never will be again. Fuck seizing the means of production. Seize this moment. Take back everything they took from us and refuse to give it back.

Also seize the means of production because you can and why not.

~

Every time there’s a major mainstream narrative shift half my mentions are people going “Caitlin I’m so disappointed in you for saying something I disagree with. Normally I agree with you but now here you are not agreeing with me, like you’re an independent person or something.”

~

Imagine being such a bleating, brainwashed NPC cuck that you believe China is your enemy.

~

The nation that is circling the planet with hundreds of military bases and engaging in countless undeclared military operations around the world is the belligerent rogue nation. Everyone else is, at worst, acting in self-defense in response to this belligerence.

Governments using force to dominate the planet put every human being on a trajectory toward extinction via nuclear armageddon, and should be vehemently opposed. One government is the worst offender in this area, by a very, very, very wide margin. And it ain’t China.

~

Every few weeks, depending on who the empire is targeting at a given moment, I swing from arguing with liberals about a nation liberals hate to arguing with conservatives about a nation conservatives hate, or vice versa. And they always think they’re different from the others.

“Caitlin I normally agree with you, but I don’t know what’s gotten into you supporting Evil Nation X like this!” they say, firmly believing that they’re doing something original and unique.

This Official Bad Guy is different from all the others, Caitlin!” they say. “This one’s real!” It’s like listening to a serial loser-dater explain that her new boyfriend with the neck tattoo is actually a really great guy.

~

I oppose warmongering against Venezuela and China and they say it’s because I love communism.

I oppose warmongering against Iran and they say it’s because I love theocracy.

I oppose warmongering against Russia and Syria and they say it’s because I love autocracy.

Maybe I just oppose warmongering.

~

Rank-and-file Dems unwittingly consented to cold war escalations against Russia out of concern for election interference. Rank-and-file Republicans are now doing the same with China out of concern for a virus outbreak. But both escalations were pre-planned by government agencies.

~

The only reason people don’t worry about cold war escalations against China and Russia like they do about hot wars with non-nuclear powers is because we got lucky in the last cold war. But that’s all it was: sheer, dumb luck. No one was ever in control during that time. Not once.

Nobody likes to think about the fact that we came within a hair’s breadth of total annihilation on multiple occasions during the last cold war due to communication breakdowns and tech malfunctions. That can easily happen again, but without getting lucky. People have a tendency to believe they succeeded because they were in control and lost because they lost control, but nobody was ever in control. We survived by sheer, dumb luck.

With hot wars they take a few lives here, a few lives there. With cold war it’s an all-or-nothing dice roll that nothing goes wrong; no tech glitches, no miscommunications, even when things get very tense. And you roll those dice every single day. And with every escalation you add more dice.

~

All arguments the US government makes against any “regime” it dislikes are completely invalidated by its alliance with Saudi Arabia alone, to say nothing of all the other tyrannical governments it’s allied with.

~

If you find yourself thinking more thoughts about China’s authoritarian government than about the abusive authoritarian governments of US allies like Saudi Arabia, Israel, Turkey, Egypt, the Philippines etc, it’s because you’ve been propagandized to align you with US interests.

~

Establishment narrative managers aim their publications not at their followers but at other establishment narrative managers, seeking their approval. Alternative media should always do the opposite and address the people; too many also engage in upward-looking approval-seeking.

~

Everything’s been in a steadily accelerating pattern of unpatterning for a good while now, since well before the virus. There are people who think they’ll be able to shore up control through this thing, but you have no control in a tornado. Nature, which includes homo sapiens, wins out.

EconomicPolicyJournal.com: Michael Jordan and The Economics of the Coronavirus

Posted by M. C. on March 15, 2020

But lost in the hysteria concerning the virus is the fundamental fact that humans rank choices every day, all the time.

Government edicts to deal with the virus are simply various methods to trample over human individual choices. This is economics 101.

So sick and suffering from flu-like symptoms that at times he staggered, a dehydrated and exhausted Michael Jordan wills himself to 38 points against the Utah Jazz in a pivotal Game 5, adding to the Bulls star’s legend as a clutch performer and relentless competitor…

This is not freedom of choice. It is the opposite of free choice. It is taking choices and options away from individuals and businesses. It is the economics of authoritarianism.

By Robert Wenzel

The airwaves and the internet are filled with warnings about the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19). There is more panic in the air than virus itself. The panic is a non-stop viral news dump.

But lost in the hysteria concerning the virus is the fundamental fact that humans rank choices every day, all the time.

Government edicts to deal with the virus are simply various methods to trample over human individual choices. This is economics 101.

Consider, it seems pretty clear that if someone under the age of 65 contracts COVID-19, it generally means a week or so of illness and that’s it. Full recovery.

In some circumstances, perhaps many, young and middle-age individuals may want to risk the possibility of getting infected as opposed to missing some important (or unimportant) event. It is about rankings and value scales.

A government quarantine and the banning of large crowd events is simply the government posing as being useful when they are just taking options away from people.

It may be the case that people over 65, especially if they have serious chronic health conditions, should take extra precautions against exposure, but the elderly can do this on their own without government measures.

I can remember when not that long ago, Michael Jordan was hailed for playing an NBA Finals basketball game with flu-like symptoms.

From the start of the broadcast with Ahmad Rashad reporting:

At 3:30 this morning, Michael Jordan woke up with flu like symptoms. He had a stomach ache and a headache, and he couldn’t go back to sleep. He threw up all night and as reported earlier he missed shoot around, but he was in bed all day and continued to throw up. As a matter of fact he got in here early. When I went to talk to him back in the back room, he was in a dark room trying to get some rest, but still throwing up. And Marv, I talked to him, I said ‘How do you feel?’ and he said ‘I really feel horrible.’ It is history in games where he’s either been hurt or sick, it’s been bad news for the opponent.

NBA.com records it as “Top NBA Finals moments: Jordan’s flu game in 1997 Finals”:

So sick and suffering from flu-like symptoms that at times he staggered, a dehydrated and exhausted Michael Jordan wills himself to 38 points against the Utah Jazz in a pivotal Game 5, adding to the Bulls star’s legend as a clutch performer and relentless competitor…

His 3-pointer in the final half minute gave Chicago a lead it did not lose, setting up the famous video clip of teammate Scottie Pippen helping his rag-doll pal off the floor. “Probably the most difficult thing I’ve ever done,” Jordan said afterward. “I almost played myself into passing out just to win a basketball game.” Not just any game, though — a Finals game. Said Bulls coach Phil Jackson: “This was a heroic effort, one to add to the collection of efforts that make up his legend.”

Michael Jordan helped off the court by Scottie Pippen at the end of Michael Jordan’s “Flu Game.”

This is what The New York Times reported in December of that flu season (my bold):

Cases of the flu have increased rapidly in the last few weeks, dominated by a dangerous strain that hits hardest at the elderly, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said today…

From the Center for Disease Control, for that flu season (my bold):

The proportion of deaths attributed to pneumonia and influenza (P&I) reported by 122 U.S. cities exceeded the epidemic threshold  for 10 consecutive weeks from December 8, 1996, through February 15, 1997, before returning to baseline.

In other words in a flu season where tens of thousands, mostly elderly, died, it was business as usual without government quarantines, flu-related edicts, etc.

It is not much different today in the case of COVID-19 except that government officials and the media are hyping the virus hysteria to unprecedented proportions.

The government is for the most part composed of power freaks who believe they should overrule individual choices, and other government officials are posing so that they can stay in power.

And don’t get me started about the so-called necessity to fight the possibility of anyone getting the virus so that the elderly are protected. They call it herd immunity, a concept promoted heavily by vaccine manufacturing scam artists. I will discuss this in a separate post.

What is really going on is that the mad dogs of coercion have been let out with the notion that the goal should be the complete halting to many activities to fight the virus as if this is the only goal all people should have as priority number one. Even though it would likely not be priority number one for many who are willing to take the risk of possibly becoming infected and feeling ill for a week.

As for the elderly, they can take any precautions they choose, government doesn’t need to tell them to be cautious if that is what they want to be.

Yes, there was a time when Michael Jordan roamed basketball courts and the idea that life had to be dramatically disrupted because of a virus, that was not a serious threat to most, did not exist. It was a time when the ill fought through the illness with, sometimes, thousands in the stands cheering.

Now, the nanny state wants to stop this, to remove individual choices and heroic efforts, and replace them with demands and orders.

This is not freedom of choice. It is the opposite of free choice. It is taking choices and options away from individuals and businesses. It is the economics of authoritarianism.
