I don’t quite understand Tulsi Gabbard. Like congresswoman Omar she tells the truth about US interventionism and havoc it wreaks upon the world.
Yet she buys into the Assad gas attack tripe. Thoroughly disputed by Seymour Hersh. See here. True belief or picking her battles?
Admittedly Assad is not a nice person, but neither are many of our allies, particularly in the M. E.

Hawaii Congresswoman and Democratic presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard recently appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, where instead of the light, jokey banter about politics and who she is as a person that Democratic presidential candidates normally encounter on late night comedy programs, the show’s host solemnly ran down a list of textbook beltway smears against Gabbard and made her defend them in front of his audience.
Normally when a Democratic Party-aligned politician appears on such a show, you can expect jokes about how stupid Trump is and how badly they’re going to beat the Republicans, how they’re going to help ordinary Americans, and maybe some friendly back-and-forth about where they grew up or something. Colbert had no time to waste on such things, however, because this was not an interview with a normal Democratic Party-aligned politician: this was a politician who has been loudly and consistently criticizing US foreign policy.

Assad was supposed to be gone already. President Obama thought it would be just another “regime change” operation and perhaps Assad would end up like Saddam Hussein or Yanukovych. Or maybe even Gaddafi. But he was supposed to be gone. The US spent billions to get rid of him and even provided weapons and training to the kinds of radicals that attacked the United States on 9/11.
But with the help of his allies, Assad has nearly defeated this foreign-sponsored insurgency.
The US fought him every step of the way. Each time the Syrian military approached another occupied city or province, Washington and its obedient allies issued the usual warnings that Assad was not liberating territory but was actually seeking to kill more of his own people.
Remember Aleppo, where the US claimed Assad was planning mass slaughter once he regained control? As usual the neocons and the media were completely wrong. Even the UN has admitted that with Aleppo back in the hands of the Syrian government hundreds of thousands of Syrians have actually moved back. We are supposed to believe they willingly returned so that Assad could kill them? Read the rest of this entry »

World War III: The False Narrative that Fuels Conflict in Syria and Beyond
Quick catch-up:
Amid uprisings in Libya and Egypt, in 2011 Syrians rebelled against their own oppressive government.
Documents from Wikileaks show that the U.S. State Department wanted to help rebels overthrow Syrian ruler Assad in order to strengthen Israel’s position against Iran.
Iran, Syria, and Russia are the main allies in the region with conflicting interests of the USA and Israel.
Turkey is harder to peg. Read the rest of this entry »

The truth slips out occasionally, especially when the government storyline is so blatantly false.
Don’t count on this happening again anytime soon.
Maybe Maddog was slipped a Seymour Hersh article, maybe one on Hillary.

Lost in the hyper-politicized hullabaloo surrounding the Nunes Memorandum and the Steele Dossier was the striking statement by Secretary of Defense James Mattis that the U.S. has “no evidence” that the Syrian government used the banned nerve agent Sarin against its own people. The 2017 Trump version “The Assad Regime’s Use of Chemical Weapons on April 4, 2017,” is likewise under fire from numerous quarters. Generally reliable journalist Robert Parry is reporting that the intelligence behind the White House claims comes largely from satellite surveillance, though nothing has been released to back-up the conclusion that the Syrian government was behind the attack, an odd omission as everyone knows about satellite capabilities and they are not generally considered to be a classified source or method. Parry also cites the fact that there are alternative theories on what took place and why, some of which appear to originate with the intelligence and national security community, which was in part concerned over the rush to judgment by the White House. MIT Professor Theodore Postol, considered to be an expert on munitions, has also questioned the government’s account of what took place in Khan Sheikhoun through a detailed analysis of the available evidence. He believes that the chemical agent was fired from the ground, not from an airplane, suggesting that it was an attack initiated by the rebels made to appear as if it was caused by the Syrian bomb.

http://www.thedailybell.com/news-analysis/false-flag-how-the-u-s-armed-syrian-rebels-to-set-up-an-excuse-to-attack-assad/
Documents from Wikileaks show that the U.S. State Department wanted to help rebels overthrow Syrian Dictator Assad in order to strengthen Israel’s position against Iran. The State Department discussed how Iran and Syria trained forces in opposition to Israel. The fall of Assad, they said, would destroy the only Iranian ally in the region positioned to help Iran in the event of Israeli aggression to stop Iran’s nuclear program.
CNN reported in 2012 that America was involved in training the rebels to secure and monitor chemical weapons sites.
The United States and some European allies are using defense contractors to train Syrian rebels on how to secure chemical weapons stockpiles in Syria, a senior U.S. official and several senior diplomats told CNN Sunday.
The training, which is taking place in Jordan and Turkey, involves how to monitor and secure stockpiles and handle weapons sites and materials, according to the sources. Some of the contractors are on the ground in Syria working with the rebels to monitor some of the sites, according to one of the officials.
I don’t know about you but I am tired of the US bending over for Israel.

Like George Zimmerman, Bashir Al-Assad has been tried and convicted by Obama, Kerry, Biden and the ever obedient media. The proof is merely the vacuous sound bites of government stooges.
But ask yourself what has Assad to gain by using poison gas.
He gasses a relatively small group of people, oddly just a few miles from a UN station and is the recipient of the world’s wrath. What is the net gain? Nothing.
As we have learned recently this administration has been reported by Yahoo News to have a false flag gas attack plan ready. We know the US enabled Saddam Hussein’s gas attacks on Iran. Read the rest of this entry »

The Syrian government may well have used chemical weapons.
But bear in mind our government is not beyond committing a false flag event.
The Maine, Tonkin Gulf, Pearl Harbor, it is not like false flags haven’t happened before.
The other question is where did the gas come from?
Did Syria manufacture it? Did Russia supply it? Maybe. Read the rest of this entry »

Michael Gerson, war party columnist, tells us how the recent Koran burning is only a minor blip. There is a little over-reaction by the Taliban but no big deal. Pat Buchanan actually puts some thought into this
If Afghans cannot understand this mistake and have no other way to express their rage than rioting and ranting, “Death to America!” what kind of raw material are we working with in building a Western-style democracy in any foreseeable century? Read the rest of this entry »
