Col. Thomas Veale said if anything, the thousands killed saved lives in the long run because if the US hadn’t killed all those people, the terrorists would’ve won and produced “decades of suffering.”

The Pentagon has what Al Capone could only wish for. That doesn’t stop the government from auditing, fining, jailing the poor taxpaying slobs that support the pentagram.

But how indeed does this money get spent? An open secret in Washington is that the Pentagon, by far the largest if not most byzantine agency in the federal government, has never been audited. Sure, Congress mandated in 1990 that it be audited, but not surprisingly, the leviathan agency never complied, with no consequences to speak of. Reports abound about bureaucracy, contractor pushback, and at least one “historic” Marine Corps audit in 2015 that turned out to be less than thorough due to internal politics. Bottom line, the audits just aren’t happening.

The Pentagon is on a spending spree as it scrabbles to amass vast quantities of Soviet-style weapons and ammunition. But it’s running into problems sourcing them, and is using misleading legal documents to disguise their final destination: Syria.
The weapons and ammunition that the Pentagon is supplying to Syria are dispatched through a sprawling logistical network, including an army of arms dealers, shipping companies, cargo airlines, German military bases and Balkan airports and ports.

That’s a potential problem for the US to admit, however, because the whole region has invested heavily into supporting a Ukraine ceasefire, and while the US hasn’t publicly endorsed that, directly arming one side would be deliberately undermining it.
Creating a coup in a Russian province to separate the heavily Russian population from their homeland. Then upsetting the hard won peace by bringing in arms.

Billion here, billion there, pretty soon it adds up.

These were the specific instructions given to employees of a PR firm responsible for creating fake terrorist videos as part of a top secret propaganda mission paid for by the Pentagon — a mission that cost over half a billion dollars.
This story has come to light thanks to a former employee of the firm, Martin Wells, who came forward to talk about his time working on the project.

I heard on NPR this morning that after ten years of recruitment and training, the Afghan defense forces are totally worthless. So the US training command is doubling the number of training personnel “in country”, adding 800 “Trainers”. I think I will call this military Keynesianism. If you are losing big-time, fix the problem by throwing a bunch more (money, lives) down the black hole. I won’t bore you with Einstein’s definition of insanity. I am sure this was OK’d by the Obamatron, who gave it his bobble-headed official pentagon rubber stamp of approval. If you were wondering why the USA is going to hell in a handbasket, you ought to be able to stop wondering. Just for the fun of it check out this monograph about Republicans and why Obama is no different from Bush. In things military I think Bush may have had something of a plan in mind. A single-celled plan maybe, but a plan. Obama just gets led by a five sided collar.
