American Jackboot Diplomacy
The latest extraordinary roughshod violation of Russian diplomatic rights by the American authorities shows that the US doesn’t want to restore normal bilateral relations. Indeed, it has now resorted publicly to jackboot diplomacy.
The rapid ordering of Russia to vacate three of its diplomatic properties – in a matter of hours – amid reported threats from the American authorities that they would smash down entrance doors if the orders were not complied with, shows a reckless disregard for Russia’s sovereign rights. Not just Russia’s sovereign rights, but the rights of all nations, as far as America is concerned. Read the rest of this entry »

What if it is the largest, most technically sophisticated spying agency in the world which is scared and angry a rich outsider became President and is not inclined to “play along to get along”? The same New Kid On The Block who threatens the popular narrative as well as the MIC with Russian rapprochement? What would happen to that $10B + budget? How many of those 40,000 employees would be cut loose? What about all that power from harvesting personal intel on every man, woman, and child in America – including every member of Congress, SCOTUS, POTUS? How would blackmail, extortion, and intimidation ever be possible without all the dirt vacuumed up every day in every way by the Fort Meade Deep State Warriors? Read the rest of this entry »

Why do those inadequate little men in Washington and New York dream of new wars? Because the empire is near a tipping point.
Washington must either either start a war in Korea, or gets faced down by the North, its carriers ignored, its bombers “sending signals” and making “shows of force” without result.
Iran has not caved to Washington’s threats and sanctions and clearly isn’t going to. Another strategic loss, a big one, unless–the hawks seem to think–remedied by a war. Iran wants to trade with Europe and Europe likes the idea. Worse, Iran is becoming a vital part of China’s aim to integrate Europe and Asia economically. To the empire this smells of death. The frightened grow desperate. Read the rest of this entry »

The Russian government, like Chamberlain’s, has not responded to provocations far more dangerous than Chamberlain faced, because, like Chamberlain, the Russian government prefers peace to war. Read the rest of this entry »

What is the Congress up to with their stupid bill that imposes more sanctions and removes the power of President Trump to rescind the sanctions that President Obama imposed? Read the rest of this entry »

Sanctions have become kind of an automatic action the US government takes when it simply doesn’t know what else to do.
No matter what the problem, no matter where on earth it occurs, the answer from Washington is always sanctions. Sanctions are supposed to force governments to change policies and do what Washington tells them or face the wrath of their people. So the goal of sanctions is to make life as miserable as possible for civilians so they will try to overthrow their governments. Foreign leaders and the elites do not suffer under sanctions. This policy would be immoral even if it did work, but it does not. Read the rest of this entry »

To be absolutely clear about it, my thought is that the chorus of Begala-like condemnations of Russia as a “hostile power” raises the likelihood of actual nuclear war. It creates the atmosphere in which such war is thought about as a real possibility. It encourages Russia to ramp up its armed forces and to be more wary of engaging and trusting the U.S. government, because our politics are seen as more hostile, volatile and unmoored in reality. Begala et al are doing more to isolate America than they realize.
The purpose of our anti-terrorism program is to maintain chaos, keep everyone fighting each, while subtly taking control when the time is right.
The subtle part never seems to work but the chaos part is working and getting too close to home. Possibly whomever does end up in the driver seat will end up with nothing but ashes.

So desperate is the Deep State to oust Trump from office, it is willing to damage US-Russia relations beyond repair, to the point of risking all-out war.
On the plus side, in war a few people make a lot of money.
