By Laurence M. Vance

Not only is he a constitutionalist, Joe Biden is also a federalist.

When the Constitution was adopted in 1789, a federal system of government was established. Federalism is the division of power between the national and state governments. Articles I through III of the Constitution delegate certain powers to the three branches of the national government. The Tenth Amendment reserves to the states those powers that are not delegated to the national government: “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”

As James Madison wrote in Federalist No. 45:

The powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the Federal Government, are few and defined. Those which are to remain in the State Governments are numerous and indefinite. The former will be exercised principally on external objects, as war, peace, negotiation, and foreign commerce; with which last the power of taxation will for the most part be connected. The powers reserved to the several States will extend to all the objects, which, in the ordinary course of affairs, concern the lives, liberties and properties of the people; and the internal order, improvement, and prosperity of the State.

Back in October, when Biden was just a candidate for president, he said about a federal nationwide mask mandate:

First, I’ll go to every governor and urge them to mandate mask-wearing in their states. And if they refuse, I’ll go to the mayors and county executives and get local masking requirements in place nationwide.

As president, I’ll mandate mask wearing in all federal buildings and all interstate transportation because masks save lives. Period.

A month before this, Biden acknowledged that he did not have the authority to institute a nationwide mask mandate because “you can’t do things the Constitution does not allow you the power to do.”

The federal government does have the power to regulate actions in federal facilities and on federal property so the president could require that masks be worn therein and thereon.

According to the Congressional Research Service (CRS), section 361 of the Public Health Service Act (PHSA) “grants the Secretary of Health and Human Services—delegated in part to the CDC—the authority to make and enforce regulations necessary ‘to prevent the introduction, transmission, or spread of communicable diseases from foreign countries into the States or possessions, or from one State or possession into any other State or possession.’” However, the CRS also acknowledges that that provision has been characterized as “broad [and] flexible, that “the CDC’s exercise of this authority would nevertheless be restricted by the Constitution and other generally applicable statutory requirements,” and that “the structure and language of section 361 may subject it to a narrower construction.”

On his first day as president, Biden issued an executive order requiring mask wearing in federal buildings. Section 1 reads:

Policy. It is the policy of my Administration to halt the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) by relying on the best available data and science-based public health measures.  Such measures include wearing masks when around others, physical distancing, and other related precautions recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).  Put simply, masks and other public health measures reduce the spread of the disease, particularly when communities make widespread use of such measures, and thus save lives.

Accordingly, to protect the Federal workforce and individuals interacting with the Federal workforce, and to ensure the continuity of Government services and activities, on-duty or on-site Federal employees, on-site Federal contractors, and other individuals in Federal buildings and on Federal lands should all wear masks, maintain physical distance, and adhere to other public health measures, as provided in CDC guidelines.

But since he has no authority to issue a federal nationwide mask mandate, the executive order says in section 3:

Encouraging Masking Across America. (a) The Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS), including through the Director of CDC, shall engage, as appropriate, with State, local, Tribal, and territorial officials, as well as business, union, academic, and other community leaders, regarding mask-wearing and other public health measures, with the goal of maximizing public compliance with, and addressing any obstacles to, mask-wearing and other public health best practices identified by CDC.

“Wearing masks isn’t a partisan issue — it’s a patriotic act that can save countless lives,” tweeted Biden the first evening of his presidency. “That’s why I signed an executive order today issuing a mask mandate on federal property. It’s time to mask up, America.”

So, apparently, Joe Biden is a federalist. He recognizes that federal power and control have limits. I guess you could say that he believes in States’ Rights in those areas over which the federal government has no constitutional authority.

I suppose, therefore, that he is not going to enforce the following federal laws and leave these things up to the states:

  • Anti-discrimination laws
  • Gun-control laws
  • Drug laws
  • Gambling laws
  • Wage and hour laws
  • Price gouging laws

I also presume that he will be calling on Congress to eliminate the following federal programs and leave these things up to the states:

  • Farm subsidies
  • Art and culture subsidies
  • Scientific and medical research
  • Education funding
  • Job training
  • Flood insurance

What do you mean that Biden is not going to leave these things up to the states? I thought he was a federalist? Evidently I thought wrong.

Joe Biden may be a poor excuse for a federalist, but he is a great example of a hypocrite.

The very night he issued his executive order requiring mask wearing in federal buildings and on federal property, Biden delivered remarks at the Lincoln Memorial, which, of course, is federal property. He was captured on video violating the very mask mandate that he said could “save countless lives.” His grandchildren were also seen not wearing masks at the event. The Left, of course, is silent, even though President Trump and his family were widely criticized by the left-wing media for not always wearing masks.

Biden’s mask mandate is just political theatre. Although I try to stay out of federal buildings as much as possible, I suspect that most federal workers and federal contractors are already being required to wear face masks. The federal employees at every national park and monument that I have gone to since the beginning of the coronavirus “pandemic,” as well as every federal employee at the various Post Offices I have entered were all wearing masks.

Unmask tyranny—begin by taking off your mask.

Joe Biden Imperator, by Thierry Meyssan

by Thierry Meyssan

President Biden’s state of health will not allow him to govern. Already a group of activists are preparing his decisions. Quite far from his electoral programme, he has signed decrees representing a “woke” culture that distances him from the majority of his fellow citizens. However, nothing can be done about it, the extreme-left groups have already demonstrated against him. The United States is sinking into division.

President Biden’s inauguration speech on January 20, 2021 was full of good intentions, but does not contradict the facts as much as it does itself [1].

It was an ode to democracy and a call for national unity.

Yet to accuse his predecessor and the voters of his predecessor of being opposed to democracy was grotesque coming from a man elected by undemocratic suffrage. It should be remembered that the count was conducted in many places behind closed doors, without spectators or observers, as in a dictatorship. In passing, the silence of “democratic” states is extremely shocking.

Moreover, there was something surreal about calling for national unity in front of a privileged quarter of the population, under the protection of 25,000 armed men.

As for the rest of the speech, it was an announcement of the return of imperialism and its justification by US exceptionalism. President Biden said, “We are a great nation. We are good” (…) “We can achieve racial justice and make America once again the greatest force for good in the world” (sic). Afghans, Iraqis, Libyans, Syrians, Yemenis and Lebanese will appreciate that.

All this is not new, but the nightmare of imperialism was thought to be over.

What Joe Biden has already done

Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. (78) entered politics more than half a century ago. He has served seven terms as a senator (1973 to 2009) and two terms as vice president (2009-2017).

As an elected official from Delaware, he participated in the United States’ operations against tax havens that they do not control. The aim was to force the holders of capital to transfer it to what has become the world’s largest tax haven: Delaware.

During all his mandates, he has mainly defended the interests of the Pentagon.
- During the wars in Yugoslavia, he campaigned for the arming of Bosnian Muslims and supported the action of Osama bin Laden’s Arab Legion as well as that of Saudi and Iranian troops [2]. With his friend Republican Senator John McCain, he pushed President Bill Clinton to intervene in Kosovo.
- During the war in Afghanistan, he was the first politician to go there to support Afghan-American President Hamid Karzai.
- He promoted the idea of a war against Iraq and the assassination of President Saddam Hussein. He later gave his name to a plan to break Iraq into three separate confessional countries in line with the Rumsfeld/Cebrowski strategy.
- When he became Vice-President, he participated in the intoxication of the UN Human Rights Commission on the situation in Libya and thus justified the destruction of this country. He also took part in the propaganda against Syria and supported the jihadists. However, after the Russian intervention, when the White House tried to withdraw its entire package from that country, he rejected responsibility for the crimes committed against Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Turkey, before retracting his statement.

Jo Biden is also a big supporter of Hollywood. He has been personally responsible for shutting down pirate upload sites like Megaupload and arresting their creators in order to preserve the royalties of the big studios.

Joe Biden’s state of health does not allow him to govern

Everyone knows that the President of the United States is senile. During his election campaign, he repeatedly confused people and places and even promoted the initiatives of his son, who died five years ago. So he should not exercise power himself. For the time being, his chief of staff, Ron Klain, will decide for him. Eventually, Congress could quickly recognize the president’s inability to exercise his office and transfer his power to his vice-president, Kamala Harris.

In the current period, Ron Klain is a pure defender of the interests of TNCs to make profit in China. His wife, Monica Medina, is an environmentalist. She was employed by the Wharton family, owners of the Wallmart retailer; global billionaires who make their fortunes from offshoring to China.

Joe Biden’s first steps

The White House website is announcing the new president’s six priorities:
- 1. Climate (i.e. a clean energy revolution);
- 2. Racial equity (especially not equality);
- 3. The economy (i.e. to return to the pre-Covid-19 situation);
- 4. Health (it aims to simplify the health system and reduce its costs);
- 5. Immigration (to facilitate it);
- 6. Restoring America’s overall standing.

A cascade of texts was published on the day of the inauguration. They only very partially illustrate this programme and were written by personalities from the far left of the party (assuming that the word far left has any meaning today).

The first presidential proclamation was to make the day of his inauguration a day of unity [3]. Invoking St. Francis of Assisi, as he had invoked St. Augustine in his speech, he asserted that democracy prevailed (referring to Donald Trump’s “deplorable” voters who respect nothing) and calls on every American to write the next chapter.

Then President Biden announced his intention to reinstate the Paris Climate Accord [4]. Contrary to what the media have portrayed it as, in fact, a return to the system of financial compensation for greenhouse gas emission rights; a system that will benefit only the owners of the Chicago Stock Exchange and is unlikely to have any effect on the climate [5].

The first decree will have been to advance racial “equity” [6]. Racial equality would imply that all humans are equal and that, therefore, races do not exist. On the contrary, President Biden believes that humanity is divided into distinct races and that each race should be given equal equity, regardless of the size of its population. This is an anti-democratic position, typical of Neo-puritan thinking. As Joe Biden has a long history of racist jokes (including against Barack Obama), this decree is supposed to make people forget them.

The second proclamation was to end “discriminatory” entry bans in the US [7]. President Trump had banned nationals from states whose embassies could not verify whether or not they were jihadis. As it turned out, Mr. Biden and his friends had devastated the broader Middle East, and the countries concerned all had large Muslim populations. So the new President considered that this security measure discriminated against Muslims.

A second decree makes the wearing of surgical masks mandatory in all federal administrations [8]. President Biden intends to implement all scientific recommendations regarding Covid-19. He declared that he was protecting his officials by making the mask mandatory. However, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) had just completed a review of the global medical literature on the subject to evaluate the use of masks. It concluded that masks were not useful in everyday life, but could reduce the epidemic at gatherings of people singing or shouting together (sports matches, concerts or religious ceremonies). The CDC, obedient, immediately aligned its scientific recommendations with the presidential speech.

The third decree revised immigration policy [9]. In accordance with the “awakened” (woke) ideology, it is a question of stopping the construction of the wall at the Mexican border and organising the arrival of South American migrants. A column of tens of thousands of Hondurans immediately set off towards the “country of freedom”.

The following decree modifies the census rules [10]. Indeed, President Trump had excluded illegal immigrants. However, according to the text of the decree itself, by counting illegal immigrants, one can hope to increase the number of members of parliament attributed to federal states that are favourable to immigration. It is quite rare that this is done publicly in an electoral sham.

A letter addressed to the UN Secretary General informs him of the withdrawal of the United States from the World Health Organization [11]. Again, President Trump had chosen to withdraw because the organisation had moved from dependence on the US CDC to dependence on China. In the absence of any new evidence, President Biden’s retraction is purely ideological.

What follows is similar to this decision, which aims to allow everyone to choose their gender, regardless of their sex [12]. Thus, the “correspondence” section (Contact us) of the White House website asks to specify one’s gender: masculine, feminine, neutral or other. The new provisions will also allow each athlete to choose whether he or she wishes to compete in male or female events.

It is possible that these texts have no other purpose than to satisfy certain voters or that they were written by a neo-Puritan coterie, but it is also possible that they indicate the direction chosen by President Biden. This is all the more surprising given that President Trump has left office and is now being ignored by the Republican Party. There was no reason to knock a man down and provoke his voters. It is all the more awkward since this childish attitude against everything his predecessor did in no way calms the far left of the Democratic Party. One expected trumper demonstrations on the inauguration day, there were none. However, the next day it was the Antifas who caused riots in several large cities, to the cry of “Fuck Trump! Fuck Biden! ».

In effect, President Biden is fuelling division and is in turn marching towards civil war.Thierry Meyssan

The Rutherford Institute :: Enemies of the Deep State: The Government’s War on Domestic Terrorism Is a Trap | By John W. Whitehead and Nisha Whitehead |

Posted by M. C. on January 27, 2021

“This is an issue that all Democrats, Republicans, independents, Libertarians should be extremely concerned about, especially because we don’t have to guess about where this goes or how this ends. What characteristics are we looking for as we are building this profile of a potential extremist, what are we talking about? Religious extremists, are we talking about Christians, evangelical Christians, what is a religious extremist? Is it somebody who is pro-life? [The proposed legislation could create] a very dangerous undermining of our civil liberties, our freedoms in our Constitution, and a targeting of almost half of the country.”—Tulsi Gabbard, former Congresswoman

Additionally, according to Michael C. McGarrity, the FBI’s assistant director of the counterterrorism division, the bureau now “classifies domestic terrorism threats into four main categories: racially motivated violent extremism, anti-government/anti-authority extremism, animal rights/environmental extremism, and abortion extremism.”

In other words, if you dare to subscribe to any views that are contrary to the government’s, you may well be suspected of being a domestic terrorist and treated accordingly.

By John W. Whitehead and Nisha Whitehead

“This is an issue that all Democrats, Republicans, independents, Libertarians should be extremely concerned about, especially because we don’t have to guess about where this goes or how this ends. What characteristics are we looking for as we are building this profile of a potential extremist, what are we talking about? [The proposed legislation could create] a very dangerous undermining of our civil liberties, our freedoms in our Constitution, and a targeting of almost half of the country.”—Tulsi Gabbard, former Congresswoman

This is how it begins.

We are moving fast down that slippery slope to an authoritarian society in which the only opinions, ideas and speech expressed are the ones permitted by the government and its corporate cohorts.

In the wake of the Jan. 6 riots at the Capitol, “domestic terrorism” has become the new poster child for expanding the government’s powers at the expense of civil liberties.

Of course, “domestic terrorist” is just the latest bull’s eye phrase, to be used interchangeably with “anti-government,” “extremist” and “terrorist,” to describe anyone who might fall somewhere on a very broad spectrum of viewpoints that could be considered “dangerous.”

Watch and see: we are all about to become enemies of the state.

In a déjà vu mirroring of the legislative fall-out from 9/11, and the ensuing build-up of the security state, there is a growing demand in certain sectors for the government to be given expanded powers to root out “domestic” terrorism, the Constitution be damned.

If this is a test of Joe Biden’s worthiness to head up the American police state, he seems ready.

As part of his inaugural address, President Biden pledged to confront and defeat “a rise of political extremism, white supremacy, domestic terrorism.” Biden has also asked the Director of National Intelligence to work with the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security in carrying out a “comprehensive threat assessment” of domestic terrorism. And then to keep the parallels going, there is the proposed Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act of 2021, introduced after the Jan. 6 riots, which aims to equip the government with “the tools to identify, monitor and thwart” those who could become radicalized to violence.

Don’t blink or you’ll miss the sleight of hand.

This is the tricky part of the Deep State’s con game that keeps you focused on the shell game in front of you while your wallet is being picked clean by ruffians in your midst.

It follows the same pattern as every other convenient “crisis” used by the government as an excuse to expand its powers at the citizenry’s expense and at the expense of our freedoms.

As investigative journalist Glenn Greenwald warns:

“The last two weeks have ushered in a wave of new domestic police powers and rhetoric in the name of fighting ‘terrorism’ that are carbon copies of many of the worst excesses of the first War on Terror that began nearly twenty years ago. This New War on Terror—one that is domestic in name from the start and carries the explicit purpose of fighting ‘extremists’ and ‘domestic terrorists’ among American citizens on U.S. soil—presents the whole slew of historically familiar dangers when governments, exploiting media-generated fear and dangers, arm themselves with the power to control information, debate, opinion, activism and protests.”

Greenwald is referring to the USA Patriot Act, passed almost 20 years ago, which paved the way for the eradication of every vital safeguard against government overreach, corruption and abuse.

Free speech, the right to protest, the right to challenge government wrongdoing, due process, a presumption of innocence, the right to self-defense, accountability and transparency in government, privacy, press, sovereignty, assembly, bodily integrity, representative government: all of these and more have become casualties in the government’s war on the American people, a war that has grown more pronounced since Sept. 11, 2001.

Some members of Congress get it.

In a letter opposing expansion of national security powers, a handful congressional representatives urged their colleagues not to repeat the mistakes of the past:

“While many may find comfort in increased national security powers in the wake of this attack, we must emphasize that we have been here before and we have seen where that road leads. Our history is littered with examples of initiatives sold as being necessary to fight extremism that quickly devolve into tools used for the mass violation of the human and civil rights of the American people… To expand the government’s national security powers once again at the expense of the human and civil rights of the American people would only serve to further undermine our democracy, not protect it.”

Cue the Emergency State, the government’s Machiavellian version of crisis management that justifies all manner of government tyranny in the so-called name of national security.

This is the power grab hiding in plain sight, obscured by the political machinations of the self-righteous elite. This is how the government continues to exploit crises and use them as opportunities for power grabs under the guise of national security. Indeed, this is exactly how the government added red flag gun laws, precrime surveillance, fusion centers, threat assessments, mental health assessments, involuntary confinement to its arsenal of weaponized powers.

The objective is not to make America safe again. That has never been the government’s aim.

Greenwald explains:

“Why would such new terrorism laws be needed in a country that already imprisons more of its citizens than any other country in the world as the result of a very aggressive set of criminal laws? What acts should be criminalized by new ‘domestic terrorism’ laws that are not already deemed criminal? They never say, almost certainly because—just as was true of the first set of new War on Terror laws—their real aim is to criminalize that which should not be criminalized: speech, association, protests, opposition to the new ruling coalition.”

So you see, the issue is not whether Donald Trump or Roger Stone or MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell deserve to be banned from Twitter, even if they’re believed to be spouting misinformation, hateful ideas, or fomenting discontent.

Rather, we should be asking whether any corporation or government agency or entity representing a fusion of the two should have the power to muzzle, silence, censor, regulate, control and altogether eradicate so-called “dangerous” or “extremist” ideas.

This unilateral power to muzzle free speech represents a far greater danger than any so-called right- or left-wing extremist might pose.

The ramifications are so far-reaching as to render almost every American an extremist in word, deed, thought or by association.

Yet where many go wrong is in assuming that you have to be doing something illegal or challenging the government’s authority in order to be flagged as a suspicious character, labeled an enemy of the state and locked up like a dangerous criminal.

Eventually, all you will really need to do is use certain trigger words, surf the internet, communicate using a cell phone, drive a car, stay at a hotel, purchase materials at a hardware store, take flying or boating lessons, appear suspicious, question government authority, or generally live in the United States.

The groundwork has already been laid.

The trap is set.

All that is needed is the right bait.

With the help of automated eyes and ears, a growing arsenal of high-tech software, hardware and techniques, government propaganda urging Americans to turn into spies and snitches, as well as social media and behavior sensing software, government agents have been busily spinning a sticky spider-web of threat assessments, behavioral sensing warnings, flagged “words,” and “suspicious” activity reports aimed at snaring potential enemies of the state.

It’s the American police state’s take on the dystopian terrors foreshadowed by George Orwell, Aldous Huxley and Phillip K. Dick all rolled up into one oppressive pre-crime and pre-thought crime package.

What’s more, the technocrats who run the surveillance state don’t even have to break a sweat while monitoring what you say, what you read, what you write, where you go, how much you spend, whom you support, and with whom you communicate. Computers by way of AI (artificial intelligence) now do the tedious work of trolling social media, the internet, text messages and phone calls for potentially anti-government remarks, all of which is carefully recorded, documented, and stored to be used against you someday at a time and place of the government’s choosing.

For instance, police in major American cities have been using predictive policing technology that allows them to identify individuals—or groups of individuals—most likely to commit a crime in a given community. Those individuals are then put on notice that their movements and activities will be closely monitored and any criminal activity (by them or their associates) will result in harsh penalties.

In other words, the burden of proof is reversed: you are guilty before you are given any chance to prove you are innocent.

Dig beneath the surface of this kind of surveillance/police state, however, and you will find that the real purpose of pre-crime is not safety but control.

Red flag gun laws merely push us that much closer towards a suspect society where everyone is potentially guilty of some crime or another and must be preemptively rendered harmless.

This is the same government that has a growing list—shared with fusion centers and law enforcement agencies—of ideologies, behaviors, affiliations and other characteristics that could flag someone as suspicious and result in their being labeled potential enemies of the state.

For instance, if you believe in and exercise your rights under the Constitution (namely, your right to speak freely, worship freely, associate with like-minded individuals who share your political views, criticize the government, own a weapon, demand a warrant before being questioned or searched, or any other activity viewed as potentially anti-government, racist, bigoted, anarchic or sovereign), you could be at the top of the government’s terrorism watch list.

Moreover, as a New York Times editorial warns, you may be an anti-government extremist (a.k.a. domestic terrorist) in the eyes of the police if you are afraid that the government is plotting to confiscate your firearms, if you believe the economy is about to collapse and the government will soon declare martial law, or if you display an unusual number of political and/or ideological bumper stickers on your car.

According to one FBI latest report, you might also be classified as a domestic terrorism threat if you espouse conspiracy theories, especially if you “attempt to explain events or circumstances as the result of a group of actors working in secret to benefit themselves at the expense of others” and are “usually at odds with official or prevailing explanations of events.”

Again, where many Americans go wrong is in naively assuming that you have to be doing something illegal or harmful in order to be flagged and targeted for some form of intervention or detention.

In fact, U.S. police agencies have been working to identify and manage potential extremist “threats,” violent or otherwise, before they can become actual threats for some time now.

In much the same way that the USA Patriot Act was used as a front to advance the surveillance state, allowing the government to establish a far-reaching domestic spying program that turned every American citizen into a criminal suspect, the government’s anti-extremism program renders otherwise lawful, nonviolent activities as potentially extremist.

In fact, all you need to do these days to end up on a government watch list or be subjected to heightened scrutiny is use certain trigger words (like cloud, pork and pirates), surf the internet, communicate using a cell phone, limp or stutter, drive a car, stay at a hotel, attend a political rally, express yourself on social media, appear mentally ill, serve in the military, disagree with a law enforcement official, call in sick to work, purchase materials at a hardware store, take flying or boating lessons, appear suspicious, appear confused or nervous, fidget or whistle or smell bad, be seen in public waving a toy gun or anything remotely resembling a gun (such as a water nozzle or a remote control or a walking cane), stare at a police officer, question government authority, or appear to be pro-gun or pro-freedom.

Be warned: once you get on such a government watch list—whether it’s a terrorist watch list, a mental health watch list, a dissident watch list, or a red flag gun watch list—there’s no clear-cut way to get off, whether or not you should actually be on there.

You will be tracked wherever you go.

You will be flagged as a potential threat and dealt with accordingly.

This is pre-crime on an ideological scale and it’s been a long time coming.

The government has been building its pre-crime, surveillance network in concert with fusion centers (of which there are 78 nationwide, with partners in the corporate sector and globally), data collection agencies, behavioral scientists, corporations, social media, and community organizers and by relying on cutting-edge technology for surveillance, facial recognition, predictive policing, biometrics, and behavioral epigenetics (in which life experiences alter one’s genetic makeup).

If you’re not scared yet, you should be.

Connect the dots.

Start with the powers amassed by the government under the USA Patriot Act, note the government’s ever-broadening definition of what it considers to be an “extremist,” then add in the government’s detention powers under NDAA, the National Security Agency’s far-reaching surveillance networks, and fusion centers that collect and share surveillance data between local, state and federal police agencies.

To that, add tens of thousands of armed, surveillance drones and balloons that are beginning to blanket American skies, facial recognition technology that will identify and track you wherever you go and whatever you do. And then to complete the picture, toss in the real-time crime centers being deployed in cities across the country, which will be attempting to “predict” crimes and identify so-called criminals before they happen based on widespread surveillance, complex mathematical algorithms and prognostication programs.

Hopefully you’re starting to understand how easy we’ve made it for the government to identify, label, target, defuse and detain anyone it views as a potential threat for a variety of reasons that run the gamut from mental illness to having a military background to challenging its authority to just being on the government’s list of persona non grata.

There’s always a price to pay for standing up to the powers-that-be.

Yet as I make clear in my book Battlefield America: The War on the American People, you don’t even have to be a dissident to get flagged by the government for surveillance, censorship and detention.

All you really need to be is a citizen of the American police state.

The Domestic Terrorism Act Boils Down to State Prosecution of White People for False Sedition – LewRockwell

Posted by M. C. on January 27, 2021

This bill will be used to set up a witch-hunt for mainly white people in America, mostly white males. Half the country will be considered guilty. It will be used to destroy businesses, steal property, incarcerate those that oppose the state narrative, separate families, to censor speech at every turn, and even murder. Ex-CIA head, John Brennan, came up with a list that included as he put it, “an unholy alliance of religious extremists, authoritarians, fascists, bigots, racists, nativists, even libertarians.” In this planned legislation, whiteness is vilified, as the bogeymen are white supremacists, white nationalists, and supposedly those that that are guilty of ‘hate’ crimes, hate crimes being anything thought ‘offensive’ by idiot leftists, progressives, and globalists.

By Gary D. Barnett

“There is no crueler tyranny than that which is perpetuated under the shield of law and in the name of justice.”

~ Baron de Montesquieu

A very horrendous bill was introduced recently in Congress called the “Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act of 2021.” The irony of this bill title is that it is not about preventing terrorism; it is about legalizing terrorism by the state against the citizenry. It would be more appropriately titled the U.S. Government Terrorism Authorization Act of 2021.

The motivating factor for this atrocity was said to be the recent purposely staged and intentionally allowed false-flag coup at the Capitol on January 6th. The entire situation was planned in advance to assure that Biden would be the ‘selected’ president, while the members of Congress could pretend to be fearful for their lives. The police led both legitimate and criminal protesters inside the Capitol building, allowed them to remain there, all while doing nothing but brutally murdering one innocent woman. The cowardly Congress was shuttled into safe places to hide until enough pictures and video could be taken, and enough facial recognition could be gathered so that the desired Trump supporters could be gathered up and jailed while others would walk free. This was the plot and now the scene is set. The feigned ‘indignant’ Congress got everything they wanted out of this directed production.

This non-threatening Hollywood-like creation ended peacefully of course, but was made out to be another 9/11. This minor event has been called a terrifying attack, a domestic terrorism attack, a hate crime, devastating, an experience of terror by white nationalists, and heinous violent crimes; all said to have been prosecuted by homegrown domestic terrorists made up of white supremacists, and other racially and ethnically motivated violent extremists. In other words, white people!

Co-sponsor for this tyrannical bill, Democratic Representative Brad Schneider, said this in a press release on January 20:

“Following the terrifying attack on the Capitol this month, which left five dead and many injured, the entire nation has been seized by the potential threat of more terrorist attacks in Washington and around the country. Unlike after 9/11, the threat that reared its ugly head on January 6th is from domestic terror groups and extremists, often racially-motivated violent individuals. America must be vigilant to combat those radicalized to violence, and the Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act gives our government the tools to identify, monitor and thwart their illegal activities. Combatting the threat of domestic terrorism and white supremacy is not a Democratic or Republican issue, not left versus right or urban versus rural. Domestic Terrorism is an American issue, a serious threat the we can and must address together,” said Rep. Brad Schneider (IL-10).”

“I am proud to be an original cosponsor of this bill, which we need now more than ever. In the wake of the domestic terrorist attack on our Capitol two weeks ago, it is painfully clear that the current approach to addressing the real and persistent threat posed by white nationalism and similar ideologies is not working. We must not allow hate crimes and domestic terrorism to continue unchecked. I look forward to working with my colleagues to advance this important and timely bill as quickly as possible,” said Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler (NY-10).”

In this ridiculous press release, he used the word white, white nationalism, and white supremacist at least ten times. Democrat Vincente González from Texas said “the Domestic Terror Prevention Act is more important than ever as we work to root out and rid America of this cancer.” The cancer he is alluding to is concerning white people that either are not Democrat, are against Biden, or against this government.

None of this is qualified of course, and this pending bill is just as vague in its description of the targeted class. All these people and more should be silenced, “reprogrammed,” and eliminated according to those supporting this act that is nothing less than a plan to prosecute false sedition.

The list of supporters endorsing this tyrannical piece of legislation is telling to say the least. They include:

Anti-Defamation League, Arab American Institute, Bend the Arc: Jewish Action, Center for the Study of Hate & Extremism, Human Rights Campaign, Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, Muslim Advocates, NAACP, NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc., Sikh Coalition, Southern Poverty Law Center Action Fund, and Unidos.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the Department of Justice (DOJ), and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) will gain massive additional powers, and funding, in order to monitor (surveil), investigate (spy), and prosecute (terrorize, murder, and jail) so-called cases of generally undefined “domestic terrorism.” Fedora Hats for Men by… Buy New $45.99 (as of 04:06 EST – Details)

This legislation is a travesty, and can only lead to extreme totalitarian political policing of all that believe in freedom and that stand against the state.

In a Paranoid Nation, “Treason” Is Everywhere | Mises Wire

Posted by M. C. on January 27, 2021

This struck me as a microcosm of what American society is becoming—more and more government agents waiting to whack anyone who violates a secret, unannounced rule.

In a free society, peaceful citizens deserve the legal benefit of the doubt. In an age where government agents have endlessly intruded onto people’s land and into their emails, citizens should not be scourged for transgressing unknown or unmarked federal boundaries. There are enough real criminals in this nation that federal prosecutors don’t need to seek publicity by destroying people who may have unknowingly illicitly violated politicians’ sacred turf.

https://mises.org/wire/paranoid-nation-treason-everywhere

James Bovard

FBI agents across the nation are tracking down and arresting Trump supporters who walked into the US Capitol during the January 6 protest that turned into a brawl. Scores of protestors have already been charged with unlawful entry—“knowingly entering or remaining in a restricted building or grounds without lawful authority.” The media is treating this as a heinous and self-evident offense, but my own experience at Washington protests makes me wary of treating transgressions as treason.

I roamed downtown Washington on the day before the inauguration. The city was a ghost town, and most of the stores were either boarded up or out of business. More than a dozen subway stops were barricaded shut to prevent any guys wearing furry hats with horns from suddenly appearing from underground to strike terror into the hearts of the media.

Practically the only folks on the streets were National Guard troops touting automatic weapons (mostly without ammo magazines). There were snipers on rooftops and helicopters occasionally buzzing overhead—all part of what DC mayor Muriel Bowser hailed as the “peaceful transition of power in our country.” If it had been even more “peaceful,” drones would have been blowing up manhole covers. Deploying twenty thousand troops in the nation’s capital was noncontroversial for the nation’s media, because the soldiers were supposedly protecting America against right-wing extremists.

At Farragut Square, I entered the “green zone”—the official term for the area the military locked down and the same term the US military used earlier in Baghdad. I ambled over to the edge of Lafayette Park next to the White House, scene of clashes between demonstrators and police last June and a Trump photo op that went awry. I have witnessed many rowdy protests at this park over the decades, but it was walled off with thick wire fencing. I could see the forms of soldiers on the other side of the barrier but not much else. No chance of getting even a glimpse of the White House.

I chatted with a Secret Service policeman guarding the entrance to the park. When I said I was heading toward the Mall, he replied: “You can’t go through here but if you go down to the next block—Seventeenth Street—you can walk to Constitution Avenue from there.”

I thanked the dude and made tracks. But after walking a block or two on Seventeenth, further progress was barred by a tangle of high barriers.

I saw a solitary soldier standing guard to make sure that no pickpockets carted off one of the four thousand–pound concrete jersey barriers blocking the road. He told me that if I went one block over, to Eighteenth Street, that was clear all the way to the Mall.

At Constitution Avenue, I saw that the Mall was completely barricaded. On the other side of the high fences, I saw troops patrolling with their rifles at the ready in case anyone tried to kidnap the geese in the Reflecting Pool.

In the distance, I could see the Washington Monument, but that was as close as I could get—that landmark was protected by row after row of barricades, from the edge of Constitution Avenue onward. To justify writing off my subway fare as a business expense, I took a bevy of bad photos, including a few with a large yellow Police Line Do Not Cross sign juxtaposed with the base of the monument.

Heading back up Eighteenth Street, I ran into another military roadblock—a half dozen soldiers staked out by a closed subway station. I told them I was looking to get to Dupont Circle. A young soldier with a heavy Southern accent replied, “You can’t go this away. The road is closed at the end of this block.”

“Why?”

“I don’t know. I’m just following orders. You can go over to the next block—Seventeenth Street—and go up on that road.”

I tipped my hat to the dude and ambled along. There was no rhyme or reason to the street closures—just a long series of arbitrary edicts.

A pack of Metropolitan Police bicyclists suddenly came up the street. There was a slight incline in the road, so the cops were struggling like Tour de France riders crossing the highest peak in the French Alps.

As I watched their arduous ascent, I flashed back to fifteen years earlier when I had roamed the same street on my road bike while hundreds of thousands of marchers protested the Bush administration’s Iraq War. That event was well organized, with plenty of activist lawyers stationed along the route with cameras to document if the police used any brutality on the peaceful demonstrators. I had walked my bike with the marchers as they passed the Treasury building on the east side of the White House, where I snapped my all-time favorite photo of a glassy-eyed cop.

After hoofing for a mile with the protestors, I hopped on my bike, zipped down the street between Lafayette Park and the White House and then swung down Seventeenth Street on the west side of the White House. That road was almost empty except for two cops standing in the middle twenty-five yards ahead of me. As I got closer to them, a fat cop suddenly raised his four-foot wooden pole over his head and began moving directly into my path.

I was puzzled until I heard the other cop mumbling about how I wasn’t allowed on that street. His partner was getting ready to bust his stick over my head.

I revved up my speed, veered to the right, and laughed at the flatfoot over my shoulder. The street closing was not marked, but cops were still entitled to assail any violators—as long as there was no one around to film the beating. Actually, if that cop had smashed me with that pole, I might have been arrested on ginned-up charges such as assaulting a policeman. In the same way that cops routinely justify shooting motorists by claiming the driver was trying to run them down, so the pole dude might have claimed I was trying to run him over.

This struck me as a microcosm of what American society is becoming—more and more government agents waiting to whack anyone who violates a secret, unannounced rule.

I rode around the area to the west of the White House and, hearing some speakers in the distance, swung down another street toward the Ellipse in front of the White House. As I reached the intersection with Seventeenth Street, a gnarly police commander with a burning cigar butt clenched between his teeth screamed at me: “How did you get here!?!”

“I rode down the street,” I replied.

“You’re not allowed to come down on this street!”

“I didn’t see any signs or anything prohibiting it,” I said.

“I had two policemen at the entrance of the street,” he raged. “How did you sneak by them?”

I said I hadn’t seen anyone.

The cop boss was tottering on the edge of arresting me. Another policeman, dressed in civvies, suggested to this cigar chomper that he just let me go through the opening of the metal sawhorses.

Not a chance. The boss cop insisted that I reverse course and ride back down that street. I did so and, at the end of that block, I saw four DC police officers lounging in the shade, talking and laughing among themselves. Regardless of his subordinates’ negligence, the police commander took great satisfaction in reversing one bicyclist’s path. Maybe he even reported it as an “antiterrorism success” to superiors that day.

What the hell, I avoided getting thumped that day. But the flashback made me think of the plight of the hundreds of protestors who entered the Capitol on January 6 and now are facing legal ruin or long prison sentences.

In the past few weeks, the media and Democratic politicians have caterwauled that the clash at the Capitol was an attempted coup, putsch, or “insurrection” (the preferred label in the House of Representatives’s impeachment of Trump). A small number of participants assaulted police and did serious property damage. But most of the protestors entered the Capitol through open doors and wreaked no havoc once they had crossed the threshold. Videos show Capitol policemen doing nothing to impede legions of protestors who often stayed inside the designated rope lines for visitors. As American Conservative founder Pat Buchanan noted, “Had it been [A]ntifa or BLM that carried out the invasion, not one statue would have been left standing in Statuary Hall.” Many of the participants said they didn’t realize they were prohibited from entering the Capitol, and the vast majority left peacefully after a brief visit.

Most Americans support vigorous prosecution of protestors who physically assaulted police at the Capitol. But partly because of the thundering chorus that all participants were guilty of treason, and partly because of Democrats’ and media allies’ howling about the Capitol being “holy” and a “temple,” peaceful protestors also face legal ruin and possibly long jail sentences. The Washington Post reported, “Authorities say they could ultimately arrest hundreds, building some of their cases with the social media posts and live streams of alleged participants who triumphantly broadcast images of the mob.”

Federal prosecutors may pile “seditious conspiracy” charges atop the “unlawful entry” offense, threatening protestors with twenty-year prison sentences. Overcharging is routinely done by the feds to browbeat guilty pleas from people who cannot afford thousands of dollars in legal fees to prove their innocence. But the Justice Department may be realizing that many of its cases against the roughly eight hundred protestors who entered the Capitol could explode in the government’s face. Most of the 135 people charged thus far have no criminal records, and many are former military. The Washington Post noted on Saturday that

some federal officials have argued internally that those people who are known only to have committed unlawful entry—and were not engaged in violent, threatening or destructive behavior—should not be charged….Other agents and prosecutors have pushed back against that suggestion, arguing that it is important to send a forceful message that the kind of political violence and mayhem on display Jan. 6 needs to be punished to the full extent of the law.

One federal law enforcement official commented, “If an old man says all he did was walk in and no one tried to stop him, and he walked out and no one tried to stop him, and that’s all we know about what he did, that’s a case we may not win.” If the cases are all tried in Washington, then that would mean that the DC federal court would have to handle almost three times as many criminal cases as its total caseload for 2020. The Post noted that top officials are keenly aware that “the credibility of the Justice Department and the FBI are at stake in such decisions” on prosecuting protestors. It will take only a few cases against protestors to be squashed by jury nonguilty verdicts to severely damage the histrionic sedition storyline of the January 6 clash.

Americans who hanker to legally impale peaceful Capitol protestors should pause to recognize that far more turf in this nation may soon be permanently off limits to private citizens. DC Mayor Bowser warned that after the inauguration, “We are going to go back to a new normal. I think our entire country is going to have to deal with…a very real and present threat to our nation.” Some members of Congress favor turning Capitol Hill into the equivalent of a supermax prison, permanently surrounding the area with a high fence with razor wire. House speaker Nancy Pelosi says every day on Capitol Hill should be a “national security event.” Will that mean TSA-style checkpoints with far more pointless prodding of anyone who deigns to step onto federal grounds? The George W. Bush administration was notorious for decreeing vast “restricted zones” around the president when he traveled around the nation. Anyone who protested or even held up a critical sign in those areas could face arrest and federal prosecution. That type of repression could be revived by Biden, who was notorious for his dreadful record on civil liberties when he was chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Who Are You? Do you even know?

“A person who doesn’t know the what the universe is, doesn’t know where they are. A person that doesn’t know their purpose in life doesn’t know who they are or what the universe is. I wish I didn’t know now what I didn’t know then – American Thinker

Posted by M. C. on January 26, 2021

Words such as mom, dad, aunt, uncle, brother, and sister are now not words of love and respect, but considered politically incorrect verbiage in Congress.

By Andrew W. Coy

I sure wish I had not learned so much over the last five years.  In retrospect, five short years ago seems almost like Mayberry.  Here are some important things that I didn’t know five years ago or now.

  • There actually is a Deep State, and those who constitute it really do not honor the election results or the will of the people.
  • There really appear to be lawless elements within the upper echelons of the FBI, CIA, and NSA who are not accountable for their crimes and are thus above the law.
  • The fourth branch of government, the bureaucracy, really is unaccountable to the “unwashed masses.”
  • Many of our top military command, along with many in the military-industrial complex, don’t always hate wars.  There’s a lot of money and many promotions to be made during a time of war.  The last four years saw no new wars and even troops coming home.  For some, that is bad for business.
  • Nineteen Eighty-Four and Animal Farm are no longer works of fiction, but prophecies.
  • George Orwell was righter than Nostradamus.
  • The news media centers of New York City and Washington, D.C. are not neutral arbitrators of the truth; rather, they uncomfortably resemble TASS and Pravda from the Soviet Union days.
  • The old robber barons like Rockefeller, Carnegie, and J.P. Morgan are starting to look a whole lot better compared to the new robber barons like Dorsey, Zuckerberg, and Bezos.
  • The United States Supreme Court would actually refuse to hear a legitimate case because it was frightened of violence.
  • The left insists on conflating and equating evangelical Christians with White supremacists.  This should terrify the Christian community.
  • Words such as mom, dad, aunt, uncle, brother, and sister are now not words of love and respect, but considered politically incorrect verbiage in Congress.
  • Censorship, the cancel culture, and becoming a nonperson come from the left, not the right.
  • The left, not the right, actually is going to try to deny citizens’ rights afforded to all in the Bill of Rights.
  • Violence from the left is regarded as free speech and noble, while violence from the right is classified as sedition and felonious by powerful institutions.
  • It really is not Republicans vs. Democrats, but globalists vs. nationalists.
  • The new McCarthyism, blacklists, history re-writers, and re-education camps are coming from the left, not the right.
  • Fences and barriers are a good thing for our nation’s capital but somehow a bad thing for our nation’s borders.
  • Our Founding Fathers of yesteryear would be called “domestic terrorists” by some today.
  • Presidential elections really can be stolen by corrupting just a handful of precincts in just a handful of states.
  • Calling into question the validity of the 2016 presidential election is patriotic, while calling into question the validity of the 2020 presidential election is treasonous.

The good old days of just five short years ago sure do make us nostalgic for Mayberry.  Trouble is, we now must decide, how are we to respond with what we now know?  Sigh.

Super Bowl Ads: the Seen and the Unseen – LewRockwell

Posted by M. C. on January 26, 2021

It seems that several large Super Bowl advertisers are refraining from buying ads this year for fear that no matter what they say, they will offend someone.

https://www.lewrockwell.com/2021/01/larry-l-beane-ii/super-bowl-ads-the-seen-and-the-unseen/

It seems that several large Super Bowl advertisers are refraining from buying ads this year for fear that no matter what they say, they will offend someone.

This is an interesting phenomenon: the market responding to changing market conditions, as what was until recently a blue-chip advertisement investment has become volatile – causing some formerly stolid investors to flee. This in turn sends a powerful market signal to every other market player, that maybe the ‘woke’ movement has peaked, that perhaps the consumers’ tastes are reflecting changing patterns.

This is good and healthy feedback.

Institutional bureaucracies – like large, lumbering corporations and inefficient universities – have invested heavily in being ‘woke’ – including creating large and expensive bureaucracies within bureaucracies dedicated to racial and sexual hygiene for the purposes of “diversity” (which has come to mean “conformity” in the Orwellian and Huxlean culture in which we find ourselves today).  These dinosaurs won’t be able to react quickly by, say, refusing to buy a Super Bowl ad. They will be on the hook to pay these extraordinary costs (which, if the market signals are correct) may well be headed to zero market value, and may even become a liability in short order. Time will tell.

No matter how hard the ‘woke’ crowd presses, you can’t fool the market in the long term any more than you can fool Mother Nature. Once the end-consumer has had enough of being preached to, shamed, scolded, hectored, and lectured during an event that is supposed to be entertainment, that will be the point when the channel will change, or the TV will get switched off, or people will find other things to do – and the ads will then become worthless expenditures which reach fewer and fewer people.

The NFL thrives on ad income. If the public has genuinely had enough of the owners and players trashing the things that ordinary Americans hold dear, that will be the end of the NFL’s gravy train to pay themselves to live like Middle Eastern emirs. While most of the low-watt players don’t have a clue about such things, the bean counters on Mahogany Row certainly do. They are watching closely.

The ordinary American has more power than he thinks he does. Two quotes from Ludwig von Mises (from The Quotable Mises) express it well:

“Go into the home of the Average American family and you will see for whom the wheels of the machines are turning,” and, “What vitiates entirely the socialists’ economic critique of capitalism is their failure to grasp the sovereignty of the consumer in the market economy.”

Keep an eye on those Super Bowl ads. They may well be the canary in the coal mine.
