NPR Mocks Cancer Survivor in Drumbeat of Syria Propaganda – Antiwar.com Original

Posted by M. C. on August 21, 2019

https://original.antiwar.com/rick_sterling/2019/08/20/npr-mocks-cancer-survivor-in-drumbeat-of-syria-propaganda/

It may be a new low in propaganda. National Public Radio (NPR) used the news that Syrian First Lady Asma Assad had overcome breast cancer to mock her and continue the information war against Syria. They interviewed a Human Rights Watch staffer named Lama Fakih who is an American from Michigan now based in Beirut.

Do you believe Ms. Fakih in Beirut or do you believe people who live in Syria who say we are being lied to? Lilly Martin is such a person. Although she is American from Fresno California, Lilly has lived in Syria for nearly 25 years. She is married to a Syrian and has two Syrian sons. Dr. Nabil Antaki is another such person. He is a medical doctor in Aleppo, fluent in English and French as well as his native Arabic.

While NPR snorts about Asma Assad “sporting a chic blonde pixie cut”, Lilly Martin points out that she was recently bald while fighting for her life.

While Ms. Fakir in Beirut says that there is “quite a lot of anger” because Asma Assad has conquered cancer, Dr. Antaki says that Syrians are happy at the news. Asma Assad is First Lady, mother to three children, and known for her compassion. Lilly Martin says that even while she battled cancer Mrs. Assad continued her charitable work.

While Ms. Fakih says that the “Assad government has been systematically targeting medical facilities and medical personnel”, Dr. Antaki, who has remained in Aleppo throughout the conflict, says this is not true. While there are many western accusations that the Syrian government attacks hospitals, the evidence is remarkably thin. One of the most highly publicized cases was regarding “Al Quds Hospital” in east Aleppo. In April 2016 there was a media blitz about this hospital having been destroyed by the Syrian Army. Following the departure of the “rebels”, it was discovered that “Al Quds Hospital” was an unmarked portion of an apartment building, that it had NOT been bombed and was the LEAST damaged building in the area. It was determined that the nearby Nusra (Al Qaeda) headquarters and ammunition depot was the Syrian army target. Accusations that “Al Quds Hospital” was bombed were false. It was a media stunt.

Ms. Fakih says that “Syrians have not been able to benefit from medical care in Syria since the beginning of the uprising in 2012”. Lilly Martin simply says “This is factually untrue. The Syrian system of national hospitals, free services to the public, are in every area of Syria and have run continuously throughout the war.” Dr. Antaki is an example; he is one of thousands of doctors working at hundreds of hospitals throughout Syria. But you would never know it from NPR or Ms. Fakih…

NPR Allows Former Australian PM Kevin Rudd to Blame Breitbart, Falsely, for New Zealand Terror

Posted by M. C. on March 22, 2019

This like listening to Prairie Home Companion. I quit that BS years ago.

https://www.breitbart.com/the-media/2019/03/22/npr-allows-former-australian-pm-kevin-rudd-to-blame-breitbart-falsely-for-new-zealand-terror/#

by BREITBART NEWS

Former Australian prime minister Kevin Rudd told National Public Radio (NPR) on Thursday morning that Breitbart was to blame for inciting last week’s terror attacks at two mosques in New Zealand, in which 50 people were murdered.

Rudd was interviewed by Rachel Martin and Steve Inskeep on NPR’s Morning Edition, who said that the massacre “throws a harsh light” on Australia, “the country from which the accused gunman came.”

Asked how he felt when he heard that the terrorist was Australian, Rudd said:

“Shock. Horror. Shame. I think any person who’s been a former head of government or current head of government would that if one of their own nationals was responsible for an action like this.”

Inskeep followed up: “I understand the shock, but was there also some level on which it was believable that there would be such an element in Australia?

Starbucks’ Howard Schultz: America Exists for Immigrants, Not Americans

Posted by M. C. on January 29, 2019

The perspective is common among bankers and investors, such as Schultz, because they gain economically when the federal government imports welfare-aided consumers and cheap workers.

Not a lot of talk about who supports these people (you) and about the those that attempt to immigrate legally.

I heard Schultz on NPR this morning – not a word about immigration.

https://www.breitbart.com/immigration/2019/01/28/starbucks-howard-schultz-america-exists-for-immigrants-not-americans/

by Neil Munro

Starbucks investor Howard Schultz wants to get elected president and to amnesty at least 11 million illegal migrants in the United States.

But his justification for the amnesty includes no rules or principles that would prevent his huge amnesty from expanding into an open-borders policy which would benefit investors at the expense of white-collar and blue-collar Americans, said Jessica Vaughan, policy director at the Center for Immigraiton Studies.

Schultz told 60 Minutes:

The country, first and foremost, is based on humanity, fairness, goodness. We have been for 200 plus years a country of immigrants, and for the 11 million people here, unauthorized, there should be a fair and equitable way for them to get in line, pay the taxes, pay a fee and become citizens of the United States.

“What I hear is not only platitudes about immigration and cliches about an amnesty being earned …  but a complete ignorance and disregard for the effects on Americans of unlimited immigration,” said Vaughan.

Shultz’s statement suggests that “there is no such thing as an American, and that America is just a collection of anyone who wants to come, rather than a nation with laws and unique culture … He is speaking as if the concept of an American nation is obsolete or never was there to begin with.”

Shultz also seems to think that Americans have nothing to say about immigration, she said. His statement “is all about the immigrants, and not about what is the best policy for our country.” For Schultz, “there is just no downside to unlimited immigration.”

The perspective is common among bankers and investors, such as Schultz, because they gain economically when the federal government imports welfare-aided consumers and cheap workers. Overall, investors tend to prioritize economic growth above Americans’ concerns about wages and salaries, crime and real estate costs, civic harmony, and government priorities…

The United States Is a Dead Man Walking – PaulCraigRoberts.org

Posted by M. C. on September 18, 2018

The US media, indeed, the entirety of the Western media, has no interest in the dangerous conflict that the West has gratuitously orchestrated with Russia, because any such reporting would scare people to death and make them realize that the agendas promoted by the media threaten the life of the planet.

It is still NPR pledge time for those stations that didn’t make it last week.

Paul Craig Roberts

Truth is under fierce attack. If you do not support your website, you will find yourself in total darkness.

While driving yesterday, I turned on the car radio to see if the Russian/Syrian liberation of Idlib, Syria, from the Washington-supported terrorists had begun. What I got was two white females deploring white racism on NPR. They were so guilty that they had indirectly benefitted from white racism. I thought I was going to drown in the guilt of one of the females before she ever finished her sentence.

You are not going to believe the “indirect benefit” that produced such wrenching guilt in the white female. But maybe you will. She had purchased a brick bungalow Identical to the one next door in which a black American lived with the difference that the attic in her house had been refurbished, but the black man’s attic had not. Her racial guilt came from the fact that the white person from whom she had purchased the house had been able to refurbish the attic, but her black neighbor had not, apparently because of racism.

Does this seem like a reasonable explanation for wallowing in racial guilt? I can think of many better ones that go unmentioned in the presstitute media. For example, as Eric Zuesse reports, Saudi Arabia, the puppet state that Washington has sicced on Yemen, is “systematically blocking food from reaching tens of millions of people, Houthis, who live in Yemen and are surrounded by the U.S. alliance’s engines of death.” The Houthis are being starved to death because they wanted a government of their own, not one imposed by Washington… Read the rest of this entry »

The School Shootings That Weren’t

Posted by M. C. on August 30, 2018

The Education Department, asked for comment on our reporting, noted that it relies on school districts to provide accurate information in the survey responses and says it will update some of these data later this fall. But, officials added, the department has no plans to republish the existing publication….

The US department of education is a political organization just like any other.

The main concern is to keep the money flowing in, no matter how down US students fall with respect other countries. Justification for existence is paramount.

Obfuscation and ignorance is rampant judging from the article. Likely both intentional and because this is a typical inefficient/ineffective government organization.

It wasn’t always this way.

The United States was founded, formed and grew to international prominence and prestige without compulsory schooling and with virtually no government involvement in schooling. Before the advent of government-controlled schools, literacy was high (91-97% in the North, 81% in the South), private and community schools proliferated, and people cared about education and acted on their desire to learn and have their children learn.

Walter Williams has amassed a body of work on government schools.

LA Johnson/NPR

How many times per year does a gun go off in an American school?

We should know. But we don’t.

This spring the U.S. Education Department reported that in the 2015-2016 school year, “nearly 240 schools … reported at least 1 incident involving a school-related shooting.” The number is far higher than most other estimates.

But NPR reached out to every one of those schools repeatedly over the course of three months and found that more than two-thirds of these reported incidents never happened. Child Trends, a nonpartisan nonprofit research organization, assisted NPR in analyzing data from the government’s Civil Rights Data Collection.

We were able to confirm just 11 reported incidents, either directly with schools or through media reports. Read the rest of this entry »

ESPN’s ‘First Take’ on Trump-LeBron Feud: ‘Of Course This Is About Race’

Posted by M. C. on August 6, 2018

Smith said he “completely” agrees with Kellerman, reasoning that Trump has a history of questioning the intelligence of black people like Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA), former President Barack Obama and CNN’s Don Lemon.

Pot/Kettle!

I turned to NPR (sadly, out of drive home boredom) and the talk was about Trump foreign policy. The expert commentator was Bernie Sanders. I thought Wow! Bernie and foreign policy expertise-you will be hard pressed to find to stranger bedfellows.

I was wrong. ESPN and expert political commentary. How does that work?

Anyone taking ESPN/First Take seriously likely has their channel change button frozen in place. CNN headline news (sports segment of course) on an airport TV screen would be a treat. In HD too!

You have to admit ESPN is multicultural, they gladly accept dog torturers and wife beaters as one of their own.

During Monday’s broadcast of “First Take” on ESPN, co-hosts Max Kellerman and Stephen A. Smith claimed race was behind President Donald Trump bashing LeBron James after the Los Angeles Lakers star criticized him earlier in the week.

Undercover video: NPR exec says NPR would be “far better off” without federal funds « Hot Air

Posted by M. C. on March 29, 2017

http://hotair.com/archives/2011/03/08/undercover-video-npr-exec-says-npr-would-be-far-better-off-without-federal-funds/

high-ranking NPR executive Ron Schiller bashes conservatives, Republicans, and the Tea Party as “white, gun-toting … xenophobic … seriously racist people.”

The big news for me comes when Schiller, who thinks he’s meeting with representatives from the fictitious Muslim Education Action Center (MEAC) to discuss a $5 million donation to NPR to help MEAC “spread Sharia worldwide,” that NPR would do better without federal funding.

I don’t think we are in Minnesota any more Toto.

Darrell Issa, NPR, BLS, Government Lies

Posted by M. C. on March 5, 2016

Congressman Darrell Issa gave NPR listeners a shock this week. The Truth! I was listening to Morning Edition and David Greene’s interview with Darrell Issa. The topic was the FBI and Apple.

GREENE: And why is that such a red flag for you because Director Comey described the request as akin to asking Apple to take away the vicious guard dog and let us pick the lock.

ISSA: But that’s just not true. That’s not true. Your listeners need to understand one of your rights is your right to privacy. Now, if Apple creates a backdoor, it’s not removing a guard dog from a criminal’s front door. It’s giving an automated process of unlocking every door in America and unlocking it potentially without your knowing it. That’s really what they’re asking for.

GREENE: And that sounds very dramatic. I mean, the government has said this is one phone and…

ISSA: Look, the government lies. Understand – this may be NPR – but the government lies to you. I have spent 10 years representing the people of California. And I have seen governments, both Republican and Democratic, lie. If you want to promote the fact that your listeners can have all of their data remotely taken by their government at any time if they happen to get a FISA judge in secrecy to give them an authorization to do it, go ahead.

Culture Wars – Paris Attacks, NPR and Bush The Simple

Posted by M. C. on November 22, 2015

This week I heard NPR’s ATC correspondent in Paris tells us that the Paris attacks were against French freedom and culture. Today on the NPR’s 360 whatsis show there was the same from the correspondent and local interviewees. “We don’t need your prayers, we are French and we have love and our culture to see us through”. Well, good luck with that.

Oh and why did the terrorists chose a stadium, concert hall and bistros to wreak their havoc? It is because they represent western culture! Maybe those places were chosen for the same reason Clyde Barrow chose to rob banks. That is where the money (people) is. Your typical effective terrorist does not blow up empty buildings.
