Memorial day reminds me our brave soldiers are not meant to be dying for AIPAC controlled foreign policy and oil pipelines to the Caspian Sea.
I don’t know about you but I grew weary of Americans dying for Israel and Halliburton some time ago. One of my favorite historians explains how it all started here.
Current troubles in the Middle East things began during and immediately after WWI. Lies and secret treaties by the West and Russia caused people and countries to be thrown into unnatural marriages that could only be held together by harsh rule and cruel dictators. Our Arab allies were led down the garden path with promises of land for their help. They got stiffed for their trouble. Creating a home for the future state of Israel was a large part of the program. Anyone that pays attention has noticed the familiarity of the cries. Iraq has this and will do that. Just substitute Iran. Our own national intelligence estimates and the IAEA say Iran has abandoned the nuke arms race 11 years ago. Iran is a signatory to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. They are subject inspection. Israeli does not admit to being a nuclear power, has not signed the NNPT and allows no inspection. Israel is the nuclear threat. Read the rest of this entry »

I agree with Robert Cogan’s recent Erie Times letter arguing that an attack on Iran is not in our interest. I say it is hardly necessary by anyone. Another ineptly conceived and implemented war and the resulting sky rocketing oil prices won’t do us any good. One can read where the 2007 National Intelligence Estimates and the CIA say Iran stopped any nuclear weapon research 10 years ago. Read the rest of this entry »

Your tax dollars at work. Egypt using foreign aid for extortion. How much of that aid allocation has reached the common folk over the years? Not much unless you count what was spent on tear gas.

Pat Cuneo had the human interest column in today’s Erie Time Viewpoint page. He is really steamed over some Republicans “undermining the Obama administration’s peace efforts between Israel and Palestine”. I just don’t know where to start.
