Anyone that pays attention has noticed the familiarity of the cries. Iraq has this and will do that. Just substitute Iran. Our own national intelligence estimates and the IAEA say Iran has abandoned the nuke arms race 11 years ago. Iran is a signatory to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. They are subject inspection. Israeli does not admit to being a nuclear power, has not signed the NNPT and allows no inspection. Israel is the nuclear threat. I agree with Robert Cogan’s recent Erie Times letter arguing that an attack on Iran is not in our interest. I say it is hardly necessary by anyone. Another ineptly conceived and implemented war and the resulting sky rocketing oil prices won’t do us any good. Your tax dollars at work. Egypt using foreign aid for extortion. How much of that aid allocation has reached the common folk over the years? Not much unless you count what was spent on tear gas.

Pat Cuneo had the human interest column in today’s Erie Time Viewpoint page. He is really steamed over some Republicans “undermining the Obama administration’s peace efforts between Israel and Palestine”. I just don’t know where to start.
