The US-Still Finding Ways to Arm ISIS

Posted by M. C. on March 7, 2015

Once upon a time Muslims in Afghanistan were fighting Russians. So we sent them arms. One of their leaders was Osama Bin Laden. The group was the Mujahedeen.

We spend fourteen years building armies in Iraq and Afghanistan only to have them bail out and become Al Qaeda jihadists. They took their US supplied arms and training with them. Al Qaeda used to be called Mujahedeen. Read the rest of this entry »

Hyper-Power Maybe, Hyper Successful-Definitely Not

Posted by M. C. on February 22, 2015

Eighty years ago there were all sorts of “powers”. None really super-powers but they had a bigger stick. Great Britain, Germany, Russia, Japan and the US. Post WW II there was just the US and Russia. Now it’s just the US.

But you wouldn’t know it from the record. We haven’t been on the winning team since since the sign off in Tokyo Bay. There was Iraq but they basically gave up.

We spend more on defense annually than the next ten or so countries combined.

The F35 Joint Strike Force Fighter project alone cost $400B and counting and is a massive boondoggle to boot.

That is more than several countries defense budgets combined.

We have eleven carrier groups. Most countries have one or none.

We collect email, web surfing data and financial transactions from terrorists and innocent civilians world-wide.

We kidnap and torture terrorists and innocent civilians world-wide.

We can launch a hellfire drone anywhere in the Middle East. Killing terrorists and innocent civilians region wide. Read the rest of this entry »

Forget About ISIS And Bail Out

Posted by M. C. on October 16, 2014

The PTA could likely take over Iraq. That ISIS has made inroads there should not be a shock. ISIS is made up mostly of feckless Iraqis we “trained” and equipped. There is little to fear from them.

We have no friends in the ME.

Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Israel have been taking us for a mug. Turkey, our NATO partner, is doing nothing to stop ISIS. Indeed Sunni Erdogan wants ISIS to defeat alawite Syria and the Kurds. Turkey’s border is porous to ISIS wannabes. Read the rest of this entry »

Thank Cheap Oil For Perpetual War

Posted by M. C. on October 13, 2014

I have wondered since fracking took hold how energy independence will affect our foreign policy. I think I have the answer.

We are back bombing Iraq to stave off ISIS. ISIS, the “moderates” we trained and armed to defeat the only stabilizing force in the Middle East, Bashar Assad.

If there were no ISIS the pentagon would just make up a terror group. Oh wait a minute. They already have.

One hundred “advisers” in Iraq has grown to several thousand in just a few weeks. (Don’t be fooled. Advisers don’t sit on the top of a hill smoking cigars and watching the action). Timelines for eliminating ISIS are now in the 10-20-30 year, “generation” range. Take your pick. Read the rest of this entry »

Fighting ISIS With Our Friends-With Friends Like Them…

Posted by M. C. on September 29, 2014

The broad coalition of countries fighting ISIS with US sure aren’t shouldering much of the load. A few planes here and there and that is about it. Mostly the help amounts to cheer leading. But considering the integrity of our “friends” this comes as no surprise.

Take Turkey, please. Our NATO “partner” funds “moderate” rebels in Syria. They supply gas to the rebels and blame it on Syria hoping to suck the US in deeper. Thanks to Putin and some rare push back from the US citizenry we aren’t as deep as we could be.

Saudi Arabia funded the 9/11 attackers, most of them home-grown. SA does not want to become overtly seen as fighting fellow muslims and has only lately become a cheerleader.  SA takes our money and what weapons they don’t get for free they get at bargain rates. Thank you Import-Export bank.  SA knows it is next on ISIS list.  But why put your own people at risk when you can throw your weight (spelled “oil”) around and intimidate Washington into sacrificing US bodies. Welcome To The Aussie Police State

Posted by M. C. on September 23, 2014

We visited Tasmania a few years ago and I like to listen to the local station on line.  936 Hobart.

The item today was the police shooting of an ISIS flag waving youth that stabbed two officers.

Here is my comment to the station.

I was listening to your Wednesday morning show. The big news was the ISIS flag waving youth shot by police. It was really sad to hear some of the interviewees saying loss of rights was OK with them if the government made them safe. They will soon learn there is no correlation between government and safe. What the Hell am I Talking About? Ebola or ISIS? I Can’t Remember.

Posted by M. C. on September 19, 2014

We will send as many 100 “advisers”, no make that 300, no 1000+ to fight the enemy.

The “advisors” are fully armed and accompany the locals to fight the enemy. But they will magically steer clear of the fighting. We will not mention the “specialists” nor the inevitable CIA presence.

The enemy can mutate into an unrecognizable form in an instant leaving us at a complete loss as how to fight it. Not that we knew how to fight it to begin with.

What DOES the enemy look like today?

We will no doubt end up helping to feed and spread the enemy even as we are battling it. Our lack of knowledge of even the most elementary aspects of the enemy will result in an epidemic of collateral damage and innocent lives lost. Read the rest of this entry »

ISIS, Iraq, Syria, The Entire Middle East-Time to Toss the Hot Potato

Posted by M. C. on September 1, 2014

One could say the latest round of Middle East discontent began with Bush I giving a green light to Hussein invading Kuwait, then pulling the rug out as it were. Clinton, Bush II and Obama have each made the situation exponentially worse.

Pat Buchanan has recently expanded on Ran Paul’s question: What did Hillary accomplish as secretary of state? Wrecking havoc is about all.

The CIA, National Endowment for Democracy and Hillary’s coercion in the overthrow of Libya, Eqypt and Ukraine have unleashed tribal and ethnic chaos. ISIS and Boko Haram being a direct result. Read the rest of this entry »

We Arm ISIS In Syria To Defeat Assad While Battling ISIS In Iraq – The World Was A Much Saner Place Before Desert Storm

Posted by M. C. on June 21, 2014

Figuring out our Middle East policy makes explaining how WW I started look simple.

The modern era of Middle East destabilization began with the CIA’s overthrow of the Iranian government. It has been downhill ever since.

Ten years of Iraqi nation building, unwanted democratizing and the sacrifice thousands of US lives and a million innocent Iraqi citizens is instantly down the drain. A total waste.

Now Obama, McCain, Graham, Hagel and their war party want to start all over. Just like all the other government spawned programs that make things worse their answer is throw more money at it, not to mention the lives. It is easy when war is just something on a capital office TV screen.

Remember when the government says “no boots on the ground” that does not include special ops nor CIA. There will be more than the promised 300 advisors. I recollect we started with just 50 advisors in Vietnam. A year from now remember “300”. Read the rest of this entry »

Iraq, Eqypt, Libya, Ukraine, ISIS and Boko Haram – There Seems To Be A Pattern

Posted by M. C. on June 12, 2014

Prior to 2001 and sanctions Iraq may not have been the greatest place to live but there was relative peace and women were allowed to get an education and were treated fairly well (women are third class citizens in Saudi Arabia home to our “friends” that bankrolled 9/11). There was no Al Qaida like there were no WMDs. The US liberated and democratized Iraq by bombing it to splinters and killing a million innocent civilians. Not to mention the loss of thousands of US soldiers. Now hundreds of thousands flee in fear of being overrun by so-called Al Qaida faction ISIS.

The result: Total hate for the US.

Afghanistan had the Taliban but few Al Qaida. But we were entrenched fighting a Taliban that never attacked the US. Thanks to US, a regional “terror” group escalated in power. Al Qaida grew too, big enough that the world’s policeman had to bribe to them not attack its truck convoys. Like those before us, Afghanistan was our graveyard. Not mention is a sinkhole for hundreds of millions worth of shrink-wrapped pallets of US dollars. Read the rest of this entry »
